Problem with a mask in a JFormattedTextField

I am tring to create a text box with a mask.
This object text box is declared like a class var.
I have another object, a mask object that is also declared as a class var
but I cant create this mask. The errors are commented,
if you erase the comments and create the class you are going to see the error.
javac ContraBase.java
java ContraBase
javac ContraBase.java
java ContraBase
import java.sql.*;
import java.awt.*;
import java.awt.event.*;
import javax.swing.*;
import javax.swing.text.*;
import javax.swing.JFormattedTextField;
class ContraBase extends JPanel
     //MaskFormatter mascara1 = new MaskFormatter("########"); //aca se produce un error
     //JFormattedTextField PRECIOA = new JFormattedTextField (mascara1); //la idea es definir aca la mascara
     JFormattedTextField PRECIOA = new JFormattedTextField ("########");
     public ContraBase()
          //TEXTBOX
          PRECIOA.setToolTipText("PRECIOA");
          add(PRECIOA);
     static public void main (String[] args)
          System.out.println("Iniciando programa.");
          try
               JFrame VentanaPrincipal = new JFrame("Practicas con Java, trabaja con Base");
               VentanaPrincipal .setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
               VentanaPrincipal .getContentPane().add(new ContraBase(), BorderLayout.CENTER);
               VentanaPrincipal .setSize(350,500);
               VentanaPrincipal .setVisible(true);
          catch(Exception e)
               System.out.println("****INGRESA A EXCEPTION main****");
               System.out.println(e.toString());
               System.out.println("****SALE DE EXCEPTION main****");
               return;
          System.out.println("Creacion Finalizada.");
}

Sounds like that field is editable. The renderer renders the display when a field is not
being edited, a TableCellEditor is in charge when the field is edited, and the default
editor is just a JTextField.

  • Problem with Refine Mask (Edge) Tool (+Refine Radius Brush)

    Hey all,
    I'm a teacher at Vancouver Film School in Canada.
    Having some major problems with the Refine Mask tool in Photoshop CS5 (+5.1)
    Especially when using the Decontaminate colours check box.
    it eliminates smart objects
    it leaves artifacting (especially in areas where I use the Refine Radius tool.) see posted image
    these are consistent problems.When I uncheck decontaminate colours, the artifacting doesn't happen and smart objects stay in tact.
    Is anyone else having problems with this?
    Also having this problem
    sometimes the radius will only increase INSIDE the selection  and not in the center like it should. This is the most frustrating  because it's not consistent but happened on 4 systems yesterday while teaching a class.

    Hi Notsosimpleton,
    You most likely already know this stuff.
    I have been experimenting with two images with Photoshop.  I agree that masking is a non destructive method of editing your image, but when you choose to use the decontaminate color option the refine edge feature automatically changes from new mask to new layer with mask indicating that the decontamination is destructive.
    Smart objects by there nature prevent pixel level modification. From my (general) understanding of the decontaminate color feature, Photoshop is attempting to replace edges which contain colors from the non selected area with colors from the selected area, in turn your smart object needs to be rasterized to allow this process to take place.  This then creates artificating because Photoshop is painting on to edges with color, leaving undesired rubbish around your selection. The majority of this is hidden by the mask.
    Changing your selection method or using clone stamp with the blend mode set to color and replace edges using selections from inside the selection area.  Affectively doing what Photoshop would do, but manually.
    I am not sure this really helps?, but I always try using other masking methods to achieve the result i.e. channels, paths.  I would be happy to experiment and share the results.

  • Problems with animated masks and external images

    I have an instance of a movieClip on the stage and I load an external JPG into the movieClip.  The movieClip is masked by a layer that begins animating on a certain frame.  As soon as I reach that frame my externally loaded JPG disappears.  The movieClip doesn't mind being masked, but as soon as the mask animates the external image goes away.  The mask animation is shapes drawn frame by frame.
    It is interesting to note that if I create a Class and load the JPG into the movieClip (or do this in a constructor) I do not experience this problem - it is when the JPGs are loaded into an instance of the movieClip that lives on the stage that I encounter this. Unfortunately that is not an option in my project (since I have to get the path for the JPG from an xml file I am loading).
    Could someone please help me with this?

    that's a flash bug.

  • Having a Problem with Clipping Masks

    Everytime I add an adjustment layer to CS5 layers palette, the adjustment layer comes in as a clipping mask and is clipped to the layer below.  I must have accidently invoked something that is causing this.  It is very frustrating and time consuming have to change each layer in my stack.       WHAT DID I DO WRONG... and HOW DO I FIX IT.

    Noel as I have noted in the past it is easy to code around the bug by recording all add adjustment layers clipped to previous layer then un-clip the ones you want to be applied to all, The problem is this will not fix all the good action that been recorded in the past and download by members in a large community of Photoshop user. I don't have a clue to how many have download actions I made available. I stopped using Adobe exchange while the exchange recorded the number of downloads exchange makes it almost impossible to make updates for they need to approved them first and they never seem to.  I know thousands have downloaded my actions but don't know if any use them or who use them.  The only contact I have is if someone reports a bug. Yes some get by me to.   Most of the downloaders of these actions don't know that Adobe has introduce a bug that may effect actions they downloaded and have been using for many releases of Photoshop without problems. The nasty part is action will work correctly sometime and not other time and when some of the failure happen there is no error message an adjustment layer of the right type is added and may effect most of the document correctly so the error my go un-notice at the time it happens and then may notice at some later date.  The bug need to be fixed. Then actions with the work around and those without the work around will work correctly.

  • Problems with clipping mask, Photoshop CS6

    I have been working with a clipping mask around a complex item. This included a large clipping mask around the edge of the item, along with sections inside this path that were also 'cut out'. I am not sure how, but I seem to have done something which is now stopping me from making the additional 'internal' paths. Instead of these areas being blocked by the clipping mask, they are appearing as paths drawn over the image and not as part of the clipping layer (yes, checked that I was working in the right layer).  I have checked the 'outside' path and this is all connected - no gaps.  I have tried to set up a new file and start again, but now can't seem to make the mask behave properly. Can anyone help?
    thanks
    FB

    THanks for that, but to be honest I am a real novice - learning in pieces - so am not sure how to check path modes etc. ..Any suggestions??
    Here's a screen grab of the work and current settings:
    Message was edited by: fjb3012. When I try and cut out new sections one of two things happen - I lose the image completely OR the new path sits on top of the image, with no clipping.

  • Problem with format mask and currency

    Hi,
    I am trying to apply a format mask to a report column.
    I want my format to be: 4500 ==> $4,500.00
    I have tried to apply: FML999G999G999G999G990D00, and i get #4,500.00
    Do i have to set a currency parameter somewhere for this format mask to work?
    I have done a select * from nls_database_parameters:
    NLS_LANGUAGE AMERICAN
    NLS_NCHAR_CHARACTERSET AL16UTF16
    NLS_TERRITORY AMERICA
    NLS_CURRENCY $
    NLS_ISO_CURRENCY AMERICA
    NLS_NUMERIC_CHARACTERS .,
    NLS_CHARACTERSET US7ASCII
    NLS_CALENDAR GREGORIAN
    NLS_DATE_FORMAT DD-MON-RR
    NLS_DATE_LANGUAGE AMERICAN
    Thanks in advance,
    Immanuel

    Immanuel,
    Here's what I believe is going on:
    1) Your database character set is US7ASCII. US7ASCII cannot store a '£' character.
    2) Although the real NLS_CURRENCY symbol for NLS_TERRITORY UNITED KINGDOM is '£', it's displaying a converted character of '#', due to the above reason.
    3) The currency symbol from the format mask is determined by your NLS_TERRITORY (and hence, your NLS_CURRENCY) settings for the session.
    4) Your application is most likely setup to run with an application primary language of English United Kingdom. Thus, your application will always set NLS_TERRITORY to UNITED KINGDOM.
    To get your desired result, either:
    1) Change your application primary language to en-us
    or simpler yet
    2) Hard-code the $ sign in your format mask.

  • Problem with keyframing masks (rotoscoping) CC 2014

    When trying to rotocope footage in the new cc 2014, i'm having an issue where if I don't keyframe the mask in sequential order down the timeline, the mask stops responding to the keyframes.
    example: I draw a mask at frame 1, then make a keyframe. I then go down the timeline to say frame 15, and adjust the mask making another keyframe. Now if i go back and adjust the keyframe on frame 8 the masks animate in the viewport, but the actual alpha channel that the mask is creating does not animate. The same happens if i have a couple keyframes and try to adjust the feather setting out of order.
    Is anyone else expierencing this? Or have any clue what new setting I need to change, or if its some sort of bug?
    any help would be greatly appreciated

    i'm a now realizing it is only happening when i have certain effects on the layer, so far it seems that if i have advanced spill killer and primatte keyer on the same layer, with one more effect activated the mask starts to respond straingely

  • Problem with Format Masks and Computations

    (I did a quick search on this, but didn't notice another thread on the topic. If there is already one I apologize.)
    We are using APEX version 2.2.1.00.04.
    I had an editable item that had the 999G990D00 format mask. In a computation I used that item and another item (that didn't have a format mask) to calculate a third item. The item I was trying to compute would not populate. It really had me stumped, so I went so far as to completely delete the fields and re-construct everything. When I did so the computation worked. That is until I put the format mask on the item again. I removed the format mask and the computation now works.
    Is this a known issue? Is it a bug? Am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks, Tony

    Tony,
    As Patrick mentioned, all variables in Apex are strings. Whenever you do something with them that effectively requires something other than a string value the database does an implicit type conversion. This often works, but not in cases where the db doesn't know how to do the conversion. For example, if your default database date format is dd-mon-yyyy and you have a string 10/09/2007 the database won't have any idea how to convert it to a date. That same is true for number formats.
    In your case, you used the number format mask in apex to convert a number to a string witht the given format. Apex does not do anything to convert it back to a number when you submit the page (unless you use the built in row processing). If you want to do anything with it as a number, you need to change it back with the to_number function. The second parameter is the format mask of the string you are passing in.
    Hope this helps,
    Anton

  • Problems with the masks options.

    i am working on adobe premiere pro cc 2014. until this morning it worked fine (well most of the times), but suddenly the masks options in all of the effects, stopped functioning. so here i am and i need your help. thank you.

    i am working on a win 7 ultimate platform. i tried many things and the adobe representatives took over my computer and didn't find a solution.
    when i open a project new or old and i press the mask button, it doesn't do nothing. no mask apears, not in the program window and not in the effects control window.
    i tried to reinstall the program and it also didn't help. i also created new admin user and took out all the plug ins and it didn't work.
    i also tried to restore my computer to an earlier time and for some reason the computer didn't let me, so that is the only other abnormal behavior i detected.

  • Having a problem with a mask

    Ok, I have 2 layers. The background & the mask layers. My
    mask layer goes to frame 120, and my background goes to farme 140
    because I would like to show the entire photo that was masked.
    Unfortunately, after 120 all it shows is the last mask frame.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks

    Nevermind. I got it.

  • Problem with Mask don't cover at 100%

    Hello I am from Rome and Carmine are a graph. Using Photoshop since version 2.5 and I have not stopped! I have a problem with layer masks. applying a simple gradient from black to white gradient, I realize that this is not coopre interamnete the image to be masked before the beginning of the side though to be covered. Only by enlarging the picture you notice the defect and only one additional mask on the group fades as it should be. Has it ever happened to you?
    thanks

    as you can see in the image despite the mask would be perfect were the contours of the underlying image on the face of the child. Even if I was going to mask with a brush manually changed nothing.
    the brush was the basic one and the oipacità to 100%. Only by grouping and masking with a new level disappeared!

  • Problems with MaskFormatter and JFormattedTextfield

    Hi,
    I'm new to the forum and Java programming so if anyone is willing to answer this query with a small degree of patience I would be immensely, humbly grateful!
    I'll say firstly that I wrote the program in jdk1.4.2 then recompiled it in 1.6.0 in the vain hope that the problem would go a way, but no such luck.
    Right, I'm using one Formatted textfield with a MaskFormatter on which I change the mask according to what information I want from the user:
    class myFormatter extends MaskFormatter {
              String key;
              public void setMask(String k){
                   key = k;
                   if (key.equals("text")) {
                        try{
                             super.setMask("*************"); // for text, eg star names
                             super.setValidCharacters("0123456789ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz\u0020");
                        }catch (java.text.ParseException e) {
                        System.err.println("Problem with formatting: " + e.getMessage());
                        System.exit(-1);
                   else if (key.equals("num")) {
                        try{
                        super.setMask("****#"); // for numbers 1-10000 eg frame num
                                    super.setValidCharacters("0123456789\u0020");
                        }catch (java.text.ParseException e) {
                        System.err.println("Problem with formatting: " + e.getMessage());
                        System.exit(-1);
                   else if (key.equals("epoch")) try{
                        super.setMask("####.#"); // for epoch
                        super.setValueContainsLiteralCharacters(true);
                        }catch (java.text.ParseException e) {
                        System.err.println("Problem with formatting: " + e.getMessage());
                        System.exit(-1);
                   else if (key.equals("yna")) try{
                        super.setMask("L"); // for single lower case characters eg y/n/a
                        }catch (java.text.ParseException e) {
                        System.err.println("Problem with formatting: " + e.getMessage());
                        System.exit(-1);
                   else if (key.equals("coord")) try{
                        super.setMask("*## ## ##"); // for RA/Dec
                        super.setValueContainsLiteralCharacters(true);
                        super.setValidCharacters("0123456789+-\u0020");
                        }catch (java.text.ParseException e) {
                        System.err.println("Problem with formatting: " + e.getMessage());
                        System.exit(-1);
                   else if (key.equals("reset")) try{
                        super.setMask("*********************"); // accept anything
                        }catch (java.text.ParseException e) {
                        System.err.println("Problem with formatting: " + e.getMessage());
                        System.exit(-1);
                   else  try{
                        super.setMask("********************"); // accept anything
                        }catch (java.text.ParseException e) {
                        System.err.println("Problem with formatting: " + e.getMessage());
                        System.exit(-1);
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Ok, now I've only gotten as far as checking the implementation of the "epoch", "text", "yna" and "coord" keys. I've discovered two main problems:
    1. The A, ? and H masks in MaskFormatter just simply did not work; the textfield would not let me enter anything, even when setting the valid the characters, hence having to use * for implementing the "text" key.
    But most importantly:
    2. The "coord" mask will not let me enter anything (example coordinates -32 44 55) and when I try (in particular press the backspace to start entering at the beginning of the ttextfield instead of the middle, where the cursor is put) I presented with this horrendous complaint from the compiler:

    Thanking you in advance for you patience........

    Hi,
    Thank you very much for your prompt reply.
    I've done as you said - written a smaller program to test each mask. They don't work quite as I expected but you're right, each mask works fine, its changing the masks that's the problem. I wrote this to test it out:
    public class testMask {
    //Note:      main() won't let u access object/variable methods if declared here
    // GUI items to be globally accsessed:
         JFrame MainWin;
         JPanel panel, panel1;
         JLabel question, answer;
         JButton send, askQues, change;
         JFormattedTextField formatTxt;
         myFormatter format;
    // I/O to be globally accessed:
         String usrinput = null;
         public static void main( String[] args ) {
              testMask GUI = new testMask();
         public testMask(){
              javax.swing.SwingUtilities.invokeLater(new Runnable() {
                   public synchronized void run() {
                              create();
                 });                              //     thread safe code to make sure that UI painting is not interrupted by events, possibly causing the UI to hang
         public synchronized void create(){
              //set look and feel of GUI
              try {
              } catch (Exception e) {
                             System.out.println("Error - Problem displaying window");
              //initialise main window and set layout manager
              MainWin = new JFrame("Test Masks");
              MainWin.getContentPane().setLayout(new BorderLayout());
              // initialise containers to go on MainWin
              panel = createPanel();
              MainWin.getContentPane().add(panel, BorderLayout.CENTER);
              MainWin.pack();
              MainWin.setSize(300,150);
              MainWin.setDefaultCloseOperation(JFrame.EXIT_ON_CLOSE);
              MainWin.setLocation(150, 150);
              MainWin.setVisible(true);
         public synchronized JPanel createPanel() {
              JPanel panel1 = new JPanel();
              panel1.setLayout(new GridLayout(3,1));
              Border border = BorderFactory.createEtchedBorder();
              panel1.setBorder(BorderFactory.createTitledBorder(border, " Test Panel "));

              formatTxt = new JFormattedTextField(format);
              formatTxt.setColumns(10);
              send = new JButton(" Send ");

                        } catch (java.text.ParseException exc) {
                             answer.setText("Problem with formatting: " + exc.getMessage());

    }When I click on the "change" button, the textfield won't let me enter anything in, no matter what I change the mask from or to.
    Does anyone have any idea how I can implement the mask change dynamically? The only thing I could think of was to somehow re-initalise the textfield then do a repaint, but I don't know how or if that would even work.
    Thanking you again in anticipation,
