Problem with ACE and Internet Explorer 8

I have a problem with ACE (system A2(1.1)) and Internet Explorer 8.
exactly:
ACE is configured as end-to-end ssl with 2 rserver and with the sticky source address. When user is opening the virtual address from IEv7, the web portal (On Microsoft IIS) works fine.
If user opens the same web portal but using IEv8, the session is suspended after 60 seconds.
I think, that the reason is http keep-allive, which is sending every 60 seconds from the user's internet browser.
Here is some information about this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_persistent_connection
Do you have any idea how to resolve this problem: upgrade ACE, change the configuration on IIS or ACE ??
Please help.

Hi Kazik,
Using a persistent connection or HTTP keepalives should not have any negative effect on the ACE, so, giving you a straight-forward answer to fix it is not going to be easy.
I would recommend you to open a TAC case to have this investigated further. When you do, please, provide the following data:
A showtech from the Admin context of the ACE
A traffic capture taken on the TenGig interface connecting the switch with the ACE backplane while doing a test connection (preferably one with IE7 and one with IE8 to compare)
If possible, a copy of the SSL private key. Being able to decrypt the traffic capture to look inside the HTTP flow would really make troubleshooting much easier.

  • Problems with iweb and Internet Explorer

    I'm having trouble with my iweb website - PC users using Internet Explorer can access my site home-page but find the navigation bar is blocked - covered by a green rectangle which does not allow the links to be explored. With Safari and Firefox the website works properly. Has anyone else experienced this?

    Transparency (opacity in CSS) is one of those things that's used by those who know nothing about it or those who know a lot about and is best avoid by all the rest of us!
    To create a class "transparent" to cover all bets would require something like this...
    .transparent {
              /* Required for IE 5, 6, 7 */
              /* ...or something to trigger hasLayout, like zoom: 1; */
              width: 100%;
              /* Theoretically for IE 8 & 9 (more valid) */
              /* ...but not required as filter works too */
              /* should come BEFORE filter */
              -ms-filter:"progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.Alpha(Opacity=50)";
              /* This works in IE 8 & 9 too */
              /* ... but also 5, 6, 7 */
              filter: alpha(opacity=50);
              /* Older than Firefox 0.9 */
              -moz-opacity:0.5;
              /* Safari 1.x (pre WebKit!) */
              -khtml-opacity: 0.5;
              /* Modern!
              /* Firefox 0.9+, Safari 2?, Chrome any?
              /* Opera 9+, IE 9+ */
              opacity: 0.5;
    For modern browsers we can use this...
    .transparent {
              zoom: 1;
              filter: alpha(opacity=50);
              opacity: 0.5;
    But how do we know what our visitors are using?

  • Firefox is scaling down the photo sizes, along with chrome and internet explorer but Firefox's photos are usually smaller

    I sell products on a site, along with other sellers, that is owned by someone else.
    We have many sellers there. Some of us are having problems with how we are able to view the size of our photos taken of our products that are up for sale.
    From seller to seller, we have different versions of Firefox that we are using. I have the newest Firefox, which I believe is 4.
    I was having, like others who use 4, the same problem seeing smaller photos before I did the upgrade as well.
    It seems to be the case for most of us who are having the problem, that Firefox photos scale down smaller than Internet Explorer and Chrome.
    We have been told that this may be a browser issue as the site owners say they have not made any changes. At this point we are unsure since there are so many variations from seller to seller (keep in mind that some sellers are not seeing the photos scale down through their computer).
    We have asked the site owners to look into this problem further. I also wanted to see what the Firefox community had to say. Do you think it may be a browser issue? We would greatly appreciate your input.
    Below are some examples of photos that have been scaled down for the sellers who are seeing a problem with smaller photos while both in Firefox; all using different versions of Firefox:
    One photo that was originally the size of 419px by 1, 007px is being seen by one seller to a scaled down size of 81px by 64px.
    Another seller is viewing this same photo scaled down to 163px by 329px.
    Another seller is able to view this photo as the original size it was intended to be, which is 419px by 1, 007px.
    The above scenario has been the worst scaled down size we have heard of so far.
    Typically a photo that is the size of 1, 000px by 930px has been scaled down to 420px by 391px.
    There are other examples as to size, but you can see that the photos have been scaled down quite a bit.
    You can see that it has been scaled down to less than half of the original size. This can pose a real problem for us depending on the type of product that is being photographed.
    Thank you!!

    Thank you!!

  • Site problems in Firefox and Internet Explorer

    Here's my site: http://davesnowgraphics.com/DSG/Home.html
    Created in iWeb '08. Here is a list of problems. Solutions welcome.
    1) In all browsers: links to internal pages open up in a new window or tab. As an internal link, the option to "Open page in a new window" is not even available. I therefore assume that they should open in the same window, but most open in a new page or tab.
    2) In Firefox (both Mac and PC) the text spacing is messed up. Throws spaces in the middle of words and generally stretches text or letter spacing, making text returns seemingly at random. The fonts are all supposedly web safe (Trebuchet MS and Times New Roman).
    3) Site is TOTALLY jacked in Internet Explorer. Transparency of linked images dumped, making intended graphics solid white. Also on the PC (I don't have the Mac I.E.), my text gets hijacked by random text links with those annoying pop-up boxes that lead elsewhere.
    Is it possible for an iWeb-generated site to work in commonly-used browsers, or do I have to learn Dreamweaver?

    Okay, so I did some code experimentation and solved everything in my last post inquiry.
    Seems the entire line *onclick="window.open(this.href); return false;" onkeypress="window.open(this.href); return false;"* needs to be removed from the javascript that iWeb generates when you have a link associated with a graphic. Pain in the butt, but it works.
    Also did extensive searching for title= and manually changed the following text to what I wanted it to be.
    I'm interested to know if these issues are resolved with the iWeb '09 update. Anybody know?
    I also removed the graphics that I was using as links on the cubes. I put simple square shapes in the middle of the cube sides, made them transparent and assigned the link to them. They don't map the entire cube side as a link, but enough to make it functional. Also, for some reason, the fact that they're native iWeb-generated shapes and not placed graphics, they open up in the same page without having to delete the code line mentioned above.
    Still no solutions to the following I.E. issue in my initial post.
    I have the site open on my PC right now in IE. If you go to About > Services, the words "Business", "communication" and "Project Management" are green with double underlines. If I roll over them, I get a popup window with an advertisement for GameVance. What's up with that? Is that a setting in my local Internet Explorer properties that I need to disable?

  • Problems with Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX)

    Hello LabVIEWers,
    I have been having a serious problem getting MAX to start and to remain stable. Here are the specifics:I am running LabVIEW 8.5 Full Development System on a Dell PC with 1GB of RAM and plenty of hard drive space. The OS is XP Pro and I also have McAfee Enterprise Virus Scan software.  MAX will start-up and appear to run for a few minutes and then the software bombs out. I get a "Measurement and Automation Explorer has encountered a problem and has to close" pop-up message. To fix the problem, I have uninstalled all NI software using MSI Blast. I have wiped the registry clean of NI keys as per instructions in previous posts. I have deleted any remaining NI software on teh hard drive including C:\program files\national instruments and C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\National Instruments. I have then restarted the machine and did a complete fresh install from CD's, DVD's, and the harddrive (CD's written to hardrive and DVD written to harddrive first). I installed first the LabVIEW and then I installed the Device Drivers. I restarted the machine between installs. I have even installed the updated NIDAQ 8.6. After which I set protections on the NI directories to read/write. Ok, basically I have done all these things numerous times and I still cannot get things to work correctly.
    I was able to get into MAX for a little while (it is somewhat stable immediately after a fresh reinstall). I defined 4 Simulated DAQmx devices and none of them acted like they were simulated. I received various errors saying that the device was not found or could not be started. So I basically could not run my software with the simulated devices. LabVIEW sometimes seems to work ok but just now, I got a "Error loading nidmm_32.dll, initialization routine failed" error. I also get the same error for nilvaiu.dll. Both of these DLLs are in the C:\Program Files\IVI\Bin and  c:\windows\system32 directories respectively and prior to the last time I started the software, all worked ok with LabVIEW.
    Is my computer failing? Are there any other options to getting this installed without probems?
    Please help.

  • Problems with modalPanel in Internet Explorer and Safari

    Hello there,
    I am working on a JSF (Richfaces) application. To handle advanced searches and confirm boxes I am using the richfaces modalPanel dialog, which uses Ajax. There are a number of re-rendering problems.
    1. First of all, any errors won't display in any browser (including Firefox). From what I can tell it has to do with it refreshing the page before the error message can be displayed in <h:messages />.
    2. In Safari and IE there is no refresh for advanced search dialog, where the modalPanel shows, but does not seem to call the search action and rerender the list. It's almost as if it does nothing. In IE it closes the dialog, but does nothing. In Safari it doesn't even close the dialog. I'm assuming this is relating to the JavaScript the RichFaces library uses. Any ideas??? I'm nervous to change frameworks at this time since I am in the last leg of the project.
    Here's a code example of the advanced search, which does not refresh the list screen.
    Code:
    <rich:modalPanel id="advancedSearch" width="220" height="420">
                 <f:facet name="header">
                    <h:outputText value="#{msgs.advancedSearch}" />
                 </f:facet>
                 <f:facet name="controls">
                         <h:graphicImage value="/images/btn_logout.gif" width="15" style="cursor:pointer" onclick="Richfaces.hideModalPanel('advancedSearch')" />
                 </f:facet>
                   <h:form>
                        <a4j:commandLink action="bookList" reRender="bookList"   oncomplete="{Richfaces.hideModalPanel('advancedSearch');}" >
                             <h:graphicImage class="searchIcon" id="advSearchGraphc" value="/images/btn_search_UP.gif" alt="#{msgs.search}" />
                        </a4j:commandLink>
                   </h:form>
             </rich:modalPanel>     As you can see I am calling reRender="bookList" which is the id of the datatable. From what I can tell the problem is something to do with the javascript not running properly on IE and Safari.
    <rich:dataTable width="644" id="bookList" rows="12" value="#{Book.list}" var="book">     How can I get around this?
    Any pointers would be hugely appreciated.
    Jared

    I suggest you to post your question in the JBoss RichFaces forum, good luck!

  • Problems with graphics and Internet connection - iMac 2011 with Lion

    First: sorry about my english... It is terrible! lol
    I have an 2011 iMac, purchased in June 2011 in the USA. I brought the iMac to Brazil.
    Sometimes when I turn on my iMac, the graphics are horrible and can not connect to the Internet. When this happens, I have to restart the Lion.
    Apple introduced the "iMac FW Graphic Update 3.0". The information says clearly that supports Brazilian Portuguese. Butwhen I install, an error appears: "this software is not compatible with your system".
    My Lion is in Brazilian Portuguese. Why it is not compatible? How do I install it? How can I solve this problem?
    Note: The technical assistance of Apple changed the HD, according to recall made by Apple through the site. The HD is new.
    Thank you very much!

    Anybody? I'm buying a new network card simply but I'm not sure that it is the network card that is causing the network problems I'm experiencing.

  • Problem with ExternalInterface.call and Internet Explorer

    Hi, I´m developing a site, (
    www.gen-studio.com/avelart2
    ), and I´m using a swf to display a set of thumbs that when
    clicked show an item and its description on the browser, those
    items might be images or video, everything works fine with the
    images.
    And actually it works fine with the videos too, when using
    Firefox, but when I test the page on Internet explorer it just
    doesn’t work!
    On principle let me describe how it´s supposed to work,
    a thumbnail when clicked sends an id number to javaScript using
    ExternalInterface.call(“myFunction”,myId); -I´m
    using AS3 for the swf´s-
    the javaScript file has already loaded (ever since$(
    document).ready) a XML file which uses to match the id with a file
    and the description, if the item to show it´s a video, then it
    creates a variable which holds a string with the proper html to
    embed a swf (a swf movie player that resides just next to the HTML
    file), when loaded, the swf movie player uses
    ExternalInterface.call() to ask for the source of the video that
    has to play, and that function is as follows:
    setVideo: function(){
    alert("hola");
    return comun.miVideo;
    (The alert(“hola”); is just to test that the
    function is being called), which it is, but it returns null as a
    value instead of the proper string, and this happens only on
    internet Explorer, but works correctly on Firefox.
    I´ve been reading all day about the subject and found a
    few interesting things, which though have made me narrow my
    problem, they haven´t just provided me with a solution, what I
    found so far:
    -I must have in account flash security issues: Checked (my
    actionScript follows:)
    import fl.video.*;
    import flash.external.ExternalInterface;
    flash.system.Security.allowDomain("*");
    var vid:FLVPlayback = this.miPlayer;
    vid.source =
    flash.external.ExternalInterface.call("comun.setVideo");
    -ExternalInterface and Internet explorer don´t work
    properly when tested locally: Checked (I have a server on my PC and
    I´m testing the site as well in the above direction).
    -The object tag holding the swf must have a proper id
    attribute: Checked.
    -It´s super important the way the object tag is formed:
    Checked, and I also tested the tag separately (I put it directly in
    the HTML instead of adding it via javaScript) and it worked as
    expected in both Firefox and Internet Explorer, which leads me to
    believe:
    -I read somewhere that if you add the object tag by using
    innerHTML or appendChild, returning values from javaScript to swf
    won´t work, but I couldn´t find an explanation nor a
    solution.
    Well, as I said now I´ve been looking all day for an
    answer, so I really hope you can help me or give me some advice on
    the subject, thank you so much for your time!

    Hi! it solved itself !! (nahh, I wish), but it indeed had a
    solution, it was something quite simple, and I don´t really
    understand why it was not working in the first place, but here is
    the thing:
    I´m learning jquery and this is the first proyect
    I´m officially using it, so I was using
    $('#myDIV').append("string"); to embed the swf, (and it was working
    perfectly on Firefox), so since I had narrowed my problem to those
    lines, I decided to try some good-old-fashioned-javaScript and
    changed it for: var myDiv =
    document.getElementById('thatParticularDiv'); myDiv.innerHTML =
    ('string'); and it worked both in Firefox and IE !!!!!! :)
    I´m quite happy about it, and if someone knows
    what´s the issue with my jquery approach I would love to hear
    it. THANKS !!

  • URL issue with Windows 7 Internet Explorer 11 and SAP NW PI 7.

    Hello SAP community,
    I am facing a strange issue with Windows 7 - Internet Explorer 11 and SAP NW java services (I hope I am in the correct discussion) ...
    When I try to open URL http://sapserver.hosters-name:port it is working so far with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 11.
    But when I click than on NWA (example), I am getting "http 500 server error".
    I don't have the issue, when I start-up a VMware Workstation with Windows XP and Internet Explorer 8.
    But now the strange part: In our network DNS (Domain Name Service), we can also open the URL by http://sapserver.our-dns:port.
    Than it is working without problems with Windows 7 and Internet Explorer.
    I would agree to state the comment - it is just a Windows 7/Internet Explorer 11 issue, if it wouldn't work for both URLs (http://sapserver.hosters-name:port = problem URL; http://sapserver.our-dsn:port = working).
    We are using a SAP NW PI 7.x system. Some URLs for PI are using http://sapserver.hosters-name:port/java service.
    Do you have any hints what is cause the issue - I suspect some with Internet Explorer and Firefox (because with Google Chrome at least the URL for NWA is opened, beside the issue, Google Chrome can't display NWA content)?
    Thanks for your help.
    Best regards
    Carlos

    Hi all,
    I think I found the solution.
    The reason seems to be, the domain name for http://sapserver.our-dns:port, "our-dns" was already added to the compatibility view settings of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    That seemed to be the reason, why it was working with http://sapserver.our-dns:port.
    When I now added for http://sapserver.hosters-name:port the domain "hosters-name" to the compatibility view settings it is now working.
    Internet Explorer Options => Settings for compatibility view => Add domain
    Best regards

  • Jumpy scrowl control with mouse.Only with Firefox, not Internet explorer. Problem fixed when I updated to 6. 0.2 but problems returned after about a week.. 0.2

    Jumpy scroll wheel control with mouse. Only with Firefox, not Internet explorer.Even pushing the scroll wheel and trying to adjust for a smooth easy scroll the text stops and starts. Problem fixed itself when I updated to 6. 0.2 from an older version but the problem returned after about a week.. The problems go away when I go to web site and scroll but is back when I return to my home page (mozilla firefox)

    Good post, and glad to hear you had a solid transition. Mine went well too, though I think I beat the rush.
    It's worth noting that the vast and overwhelming majority of headaches people were experiencing were related to download and activation servers (as well as credit check servers for some mobile carriers) being crushed and overwhelmed.
    To give you an idea of just how crushed, here are some numbers. In the last year, something in the neighborhood of 8 million iPhones have been sold. That's just shy of 22,000 per day. So the typical traffic is around 22,000 times a day, someone is hitting the server for update/activation.
    This weekend, Apple sold 1 million iPhones. In other words, 333,333 phones per day. Holy crap!
    As if that wasn't enough, there are 8 million of us out there with the first generation iPhone. Not only do we need to download the new firmware, but we have to install it. The installation process requires hitting the activation server again, to validate the phone. Mind you, not everybody upgraded this weekend, but a few million did. For the sake of argument, we'll assume that's 1 million a day. So, instead of the normall traffic of 22K phones a day, those activation servers got SLAMMED with 1.33 million activations per day.
    It ***** that some people had delays and hiccups and a hard time and everything, but completely understandable. With luck things will run more smoothly from here on out.

  • Problem with Rescue and Recovery after installing Norton Internet Security 2010

    Hi all.
    It's my first time in this forum.
    I have a problem, with Rescue and Recovery, after installing Norton Internet Security 2010 on my T43.
    The message I get it:
    "Rescue and Recovery is unable to back up the file 'C:\Documents and settings\all Users\Application Data\ Norton\ 00000082\00000109\000003c1\cltMLS1.bat' Because the file is either corrupted or being used by another application. Please close any application that could be using the file.
    I tried to close the Norton but I couldn't find how.
    Tanks
    Doron71

    Hi and welcome to the forum,
    the reason for this situation is, that the antivir files are protected from being modified.
    This is the reason, why this file cannot be backed up. I assume, that you would get much more such messages, as there are surelly multiple files files, that are protected like this.
    So the solution is to block folders from being archived. Please start RnR application and in the configuration set this folder as the excluded one.
    This will skip the backup of this file and will fix your situation.
    Please let me know, if you have covered this.
    Cheers

  • Firefox and internet explorer doesnt work with mac os 10.4.7

    i can't seem to get firefox and Internet explorer to work on my g4 da mac with os 10.4.7. any suggestions...

    Did they ever work for you?
    Did you recently install some new software or make a hardware change to your machine?
    The first rule of thumb with misbehaving applications is to erase the Application's preferences and then try it again, but that might be somewhat dangerous considering that you could accidentally erase all of your bookmarks/favorites in the process.
    I'm running Mac OS 10.4.7 and I can get FireFox 1.07, 1.5, and 2.0, plus IE 5.2.3 to run, in addition to other browsers like Safari 2, OmniWeb 5.5, Netscape 7.2, and Opera 8.5 and 9.
