Yes, the error is releted to lower case; you can translate it to upper or change the infooject to accept lower case (bettar to transalte).
Hope it helps.
if not try this way.
paramaeters: p_dept type zemp-dept  upper case obligatory

  • Petition: problems with characters in mail sent to Windows computers

    Sign this petition by replying to this thread if you have problems with garbled characters when sending e-mails to Windows computers. Let Apple know It's a huge problem for non-English e-mailing customers and there is no way to definitively fix it.
    I'll start it off:
    Christoffer Du Rietz
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.7)   17" last generation G4

    I'm not interested in knowing the gory technical
    details, I want Apple to fix the problem. The problem
    have existed for years. Non-english speaking Mac
    users run a high risk of sending e-mails that look
    like pure garbage on computers that use Windows. This
    does not help when trying to convince people that
    Macs are superior.
    I want Apple to fix Mail. Because it is
    2006!
    Your views are reasonable, but you need to send them to Apple, not just to the other users trying to provide help with problems in these forums. The channel for this is
    http://www.apple.com/macosx/feedback/
    You could also consider providing some feedback to MS. The longstanding bugs in Outlook that cause these problems represent really second-rate programming (even if it makes sense for Apple to somehow cater to them in Mail's behavior).

  • Txt to xml. Problems with characters(&, , ',...)

    I want to generate a xml file with text from a txt file but i have problems with special characters such as &, <... I'd like to know if theres any class or library to filter the text in order to generate my xml without problems.
    Thank you.

    Use JDOM to generate your XML. It will worry about escaping issues for you.
    Here's a (probably rather inelegant) example for you to play around with:
    import javax.xml.parsers.*;
    import javax.xml.transform.*;
    import javax.xml.transform.dom.DOMSource;
    import javax.xml.transform.stream.StreamResult;
    import org.w3c.dom.*;
    public class DateBoom {
         public static void main(String[] args)
              throws Exception
              DocumentBuilderFactory factory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
              DocumentBuilder builder = factory.newDocumentBuilder();
              String dodgyText = "< & '";
              Document document = builder.newDocument();
              Element root = document.createElement("root");
              root.setAttribute("dodgy",dodgyText);
              document.appendChild(root);
              Element child = document.createElement("child");
              root.appendChild(child);
              child.appendChild(document.createTextNode(dodgyText));
              Transformer transform = TransformerFactory.newInstance().newTransformer();
              Source source = new DOMSource(document);
              Result result = new StreamResult(System.out);
              transform.transform(source,result);
    }Your alternative is to use something like String regular expressions (regex) to do this manually, but the XML oriented libraries will catch more corner cases than you're likely to anticipate, making them more reliable.

  • Problems with characters like "Á", "É"

    Hi, I'm having trouble when reading data with characters "&Aacute;", "&Eacute;", "&Ntilde;" from a database. If I use this:
    stmt = this.conexion.createStatement ();it works fine, but of course cannot access the records in the ResultSet but with method next ().
    As I wanted to use absolute (), first (), etc. I wrote that:
    stmt = this.conexion.createStatement (ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE, ResultSet.CONCUR_READ_ONLY);but when I try to read for example the word "P&Eacute;REZ", I get the word "0x50C38952455A".
    Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.

    This is my connection code:
          Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");
          conn = DriverManager.getConnection(url, login, password);The code that works:
    (1)
        stmt = conn.createStatement ();The code that doesn't:
    (2)
        stmt = conn.createStatement (ResultSet.TYPE_SCROLL_INSENSITIVE, ResultSet.CONCUR_READ_ONLY);Then, the same code to execute the query:
        rs = stmt.executeQuery ("SELECT MY_VARCHAR_FIELD FROM MY_TABLE");And to retrieve the value:
        String myValue = rs.getString ("MY_VARCHAR_FIELD");The odd thing is that before using a scrollable ResultSet (code snippet (1)), this worked perfectly. But, since I changed to code snippet (2), it doesn't for those characters.

  • Problem with characters in text field

    hi all
    i am missing a few characters, once i load text into a dynamic text field. chars are not missing per say; they are being replaced with empty squares.
    characters like the euro sign and accentuated german a letter.
    whats is weird is that other accentuated german letters do appear. so only a few selected are missing.
    How ive set up the fla:
    1) i've added 4 text fields to the stage in the font im using, Arial, one for each font style: normal, italic, bold and bold italic, and in all 4 fields ive embedded all latin characters (to include the german accentuaded characters and im guessing it's in the punctuation group that holds the euro sign, so that one is also embedded), besides lowercase, uppercase, numerical, and all the default groupd to include basic text.
    2) i've got a dynamic text field, created with createTextField, and setup the following ActionScript (2):
    this.createTextField("T_text",1,0,10,Stage.width-60,50);
    var myFmt = new TextFormat();
    myFmt.size = 12;
    myFmt.leading = 3;
    myFmt.font = "Arial";
    T_text.html = true;
    T_text.autoSize = "left";
    T_text.multiline = true;
    T_text.wordWrap = true;
    T_text.selectable = false;
    T_text.embedFonts = false;
    T_text.textColor = "0x666666";
    T_text.htmlText = _global.gallery_1_image_text_1; // this holds the text im displayed, called in from a database.
    T_text.setNewTextFormat(myFmt);
    now, im calling text from a database.
    when calling the text from the browser  url bar, there's no chars missing.
    its just when i make this call from flash and load the text into the dynamic text field, that characters go missing.
    below is a link to a print screen of the faulty text that is displayed in flash's dynamic text field.
    http://img210.imageshack.us/img210/340/utf8.png
    any ideas? i mean, it seems that the arial font is missing a few accentuated characters! because the code i have setup loads other accentuated characters.
    anyone has seen this issue before and know how to solve it?
    regards

    no.
    you assigned your embedFonts property to be false.
    look, you can test if you've embedded fonts correctly by using:
    T_text._rotation=3;
    if you see no text, you're not embedding fonts correctly.
    so, use:
    T_text.embedFonts=true;
    and then test.  if you see no text, use:
    click on the upper right of your library panel > new Font > select Arial and tick the symbols you need to embed > tick export for actionscript and assign a linkage id (eg, ArialID). click ok.  then use:
    this.createTextField("T_text",1,0,10,Stage.width-60,50);
    var myFmt = new TextFormat();
    myFmt.size = 12;
    myFmt.leading = 3;
    myFmt.font = "ArialID";
    T_text.html = true;
    T_text.autoSize = "left";
    T_text.multiline = true;
    T_text.wordWrap = true;
    T_text.selectable = false;
    T_text.embedFonts = true;
    T_text.textColor = 0x666666;  // no quotes here.  this is a number
    T_text.htmlText = _global.gallery_1_image_text_1; // this holds the text im displayed, called in from a database.
    T_text.setTextFormat(myFmt);  // to format the above text, use setTextFormat().  if you want to format text added after this line, use setNewTextFormat()

  • Problem with characters of the forms

    I have installed an IAS 10.1.2.0.2 (forms, reports and discoverer components) in a solaris 10 SPARC machine IASDB character set:
    AMERICAN_AMERICA.EL8ISO8859P7.
    I've imported some .fmb forms from windows platform and recompiled to make them .fmx.
    Though the re-compilation is successful the greek characters are shown ???? like that (these are not characters taken from the DB but labels in the forms).
    My .cshrc file has the following values:
    #ident "@(#)local.cshrc 1.2 00/05/01 SMI"
    umask 022

    and finally in frmcmp_batch.sh have set:
    NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.EL8ISO8859P7
    export NLS_LANG
    I still get the ???? characters instead of greek fonts.
    can anyone help, this is urgent.
    Thank you

    When translating your form MAKE SURE YOU LOGIN TO SAP WITH THE TARGET LANAGUAGE FOR TRANSLATION!
    For example, if you have an english form and want to translate it to spanish, login in spanish, go to SFP and do your translation to spanish. It should have a pop-up shown that says "original language" is English....keep it as that.
    Not sure why it works this way, but it does. I would love to be able to login in English and then simply do all my other translations from there, but it doesn't work that way.

  • Problem with display of accented characters

    Since 10.6 installation, in Safari, Firefox and OpenOffice, accents are way up high above the characters they are supposed to go with.
    I found this site describing the problem (with screen captures), but no answer to stop this behaviour : http://www.betalogue.com/2009/09/08/snow-leopard-preview/
    Do you know any way to fix this ?

    Since 10.6 installation, in Safari, Firefox and OpenOffice, accents are way up high above the characters they are supposed to go with.
    Are you talking only about pdf's?
    If not, it sounds like it could be a font problem. If you are talking about ordinary text you are typing or viewing in OpenOffice, could you send me a screenshot showing the font being used (tom at bluesky dot org)? Does it happen with the font switched to Lucida Grande?

  • Problem with URL:s containing scandinavian characters (Office 2013 / Firefox / SP 2010)

    We are encountering problems with document opening when URL contains scandinavian characters (ä,ö). This issue occurs only with Office 2013 when using Firefox. With IE it works just fine. And Office 2010 works nicely as well.
    Error message: "We can't connect to 'https://intra.../Test powerpoint.pptx' Please make sure you're using the correct web address".
    This issue only occurs when document or document set name contains scandinavian characters. If I rename it, document opens without any problems.

  • A problem with regex and special characters

    Hello,
    I am using regex in my application but i have a problem with special characters. Here is the explanation of what i am doing:
    I have a certain piece of text that i want to parse and replace every occurrence of a given word with some sort of a tag which have the word found inside it.
    so that: go Going Go to gOschool by bus and to learn and to play GO Go
    and i need to replace the word "go" (case insensitive and only at word boundaries) should be:
    *<start>go<end> Going <start>Go<end> to gOschool by bus and to learn and to play <start>GO<end> <start>Go<end>*
    Consider the following code and call the method with the parameter"go?"
    The Matcher finds a weird match at the word "G?oing" with only the letter G !!!
    It also ignores the "?" in the pattern completely.
    Any clue of what is happening i would be very grateful...

    replaceAll will replace all the occurrences in the text with only one word. without taking into consideration the case of the word i need to replace.No.

    If i use replacaAll(article, strToFind) the output will be:
    <start>go?<end> G?oing <start>go?<end> to gOschool by bus and to learn and to play <start>go?<end> <start>go?<end>No. I showed you the actual output of an actual replaceAll.

  • Problems with Turkish characters not displaying correctly

    A user is having problems with certain Turkish characters in particular fonts not displaying correctly (as shown below).
    The two fonts (Gill Sans and Helvetica LT CondensedLight) are used for English language marketing material.  Ideally, for continuity, the same font would be preferred for our Turkish language marketing material rather than changing it to a similar font.
    Helvetica LT CondensedLight
    Turkish character “ İ ” does not display correctly in either Word or InDesign.
    Gill Sans
    Turkish characters “ ş ” and “ ğ ” display correctly in Word but not InDesign.
    My questions are:
    1. For Gill Sans, why are the characters not displaying in InDesign but are in Word?
    2. I've noticed here: http://www.webtype.com/font/gill-sans-family/#glyphs-tab that the required characters are available within the Gill Sans font.  Is this because the font is newer and includes the additional characters?  Would this work in InDesign?

    One of the big differences between InDesign and Word is that Word will happily substitute glyphs without telling you. So, unless your installs of Word and of InDesign are using different versions of Gill Sans (which is possible, BTW) then your s-with-cedilla and your g-with-macron are actually not in Gill Sans but in some other font. I'm guessing Arial.
    It's possible that you have more than one Gill Sans installed (e.g. one in your Document Fonts folder and another in your system fonts folder) that have different glyph complements. Gill Sans has been around a long time, and the version I have from the 90s has no Turkish support whatsoever.
    As far as the capital-I-with-dot, you can check your glyph coverage in a variety of ways. In both InDesign and Word, you can open up a window that shows you all of the glyphs in a font. In InDesign, find it in Type -> Glyphs. In Word, it's called "Insert Symbol" and you can find it in Word 2010 by going to Insert -> Symbol -> More Symbols. I am guessing that the answer to this question is simply that your cut of Helvetica LT has no cap-I-with-dot. You'd need to pick a font that actually has support for Turkish. On WIndows, I use a very full-featured freebie called BabelMap to check font coverage. They have a Web version here:
    http://www.babelstone.co.uk/Unicode/babelmap.html
    but I personally prefer the downloadable .exe file.

  • Problem with the Non-English Characters

    Hello,
    I have been using Adobe Illustrator  but I have a huge problem with the non-english characters with Standart Fonts. With the Professional font's I have no problem with them. But when I'm using any standart font in font folio library I cannot type any "ğ-İ-ş". I can add those letters in fontlab with the glyphs (scedilla, idotaccent, gbreve). Most of the fonts have those letters already prepeared so I dont even have to redraw. But I can't add those glyph to every single font because I dont have that kind of time and patience. Is there any better solution for this? Or is there any font folio pack that all fonts are PRO.
    I'm looking forward for your answers
    Thanks.

    Exactly. The Pro fonts have at a minimum the Adobe Western 3 character set, which is essentially western European + Adobe CE.
    > Standard fonts just have the basic English character set, with maybe a bit of help for Spanish and French.
    A lot more than that!
    > You're doing Turkish, right? Adobe's coverage for Turkish in its fonts is not great - some of the Pro fonts have Turkish coverage, many do not.
    This is false. Every single Adobe Pro font supports Turkish.
    To be clear:
    All Adobe Standard fonts support the following languages: Afrikaans, Basque, Breton, Catalan, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, Gaelic, German, Icelandic, Indonesian, Irish, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Sami, Spanish, Swahili and Swedish.
    Adobe Pro fonts support those languages, plus AT LEAST: Croatian, Czech, Estonian, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Romanian, Serbian (Latin), Slovak, Slovenian and Turkish. Some Pro fonts have more language support than this, such as Greek and/or Cyrillic, and additional extended Latin.

  • Problems with transforming special characters

    Hi,
    I develop a small educational application ( http://sourceforge.net/projects/pauker/ ). I work with JDK-1.4.0 on Mandrake Linux 8.2. At first I used serialized objects to save the lessons to a file. This worked well until I wanted to change some public members of the involved classes. That's why I switched over to the new and shiny XML. Now I have a different problem!
    Pauker saves its lessons in gziped XML files. Users from all over the world can create lessons containing very different characters. There are European characters like and asian characters. Loading this lessons on a system with a different encoding works fine. Saving such a lesson on a system with a different encoding can destroy the lesson.
    Example:
    On a german system a user creates a lesson with the letter on a card side and saves it. A different user working on an english system loads this lesson. The character "" is displayed correctly. The english user saves the lesson. The character "" will be replaced by a question mark in the xml file. Next time the english user loads the lesson she will not see "" but "?" on the display.
    Here is a little example program that does the transformation in exactly the way Pauker does. Please test it out.
    import java.io.*;
    import javax.xml.parsers.*;
    import javax.xml.transform.*;
    import javax.xml.transform.dom.*;
    import javax.xml.transform.stream.*;
    import org.w3c.dom.*;
    public class XMLTest {
    public XMLTest() {
    try {
    // create document
    DocumentBuilderFactory documentBuilderFactory = DocumentBuilderFactory.newInstance();
    DocumentBuilder documentBuilder = documentBuilderFactory.newDocumentBuilder();
    Document document = documentBuilder.newDocument();
    // fill document
    Element element = document.createElement("Element");
    document.appendChild(element);
    element.appendChild(document.createTextNode(""));
    // transform to XML
    TransformerFactory transformerFactory = TransformerFactory.newInstance();
    Transformer transformer = transformerFactory.newTransformer();
    //transformer.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.ENCODING, "ISO-8859-1");
    transformer.setOutputProperty(OutputKeys.INDENT, "yes");
    transformer.setOutputProperty("{http://xml.apache.org/xslt}indent-amount", "2");
    DOMSource source = new DOMSource(document);
    ByteArrayOutputStream outputStream = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
    StreamResult result = new StreamResult(outputStream);
    transformer.transform(source, result);
    System.out.println("original: ");
    System.out.println(outputStream.toString());
    } catch (Exception e) {
    e.printStackTrace();
    System.out.println();
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    new XMLTest();
    So what do I have to do to fix this problem? I have a lot of new features waiting in the CVS but this bug is still open and discussed. I dont want to release a new version with such a gaping hole in it...
    Thanks a lot!

    I don't see how you can say that there's a problem with saving your XML files when the code you post doesn't actually save it to a file. Your transform is being written to a ByteArrayOutputStream, which isn't used except for this statement which I assume is for debugging:System.out.println(outputStream.toString());Of course that is useless for debugging the problem you describe, for two reasons:
    1. the toString() method uses your system's default encoding, which may be ISO-8859-1 but is definitely not UTF-8. You could write toString("UTF-8") but that is a waste of time because:
    2. You use System.out.println() to examine the data, which writes it to a console that also probably does not use UTF-8. I don't know what encoding it does use, but UTF-8 is unlikely.
    So, save your files using the UTF-8 encoding as robadmin suggested. And to test the result, make sure you use a tool that understands the UTF-8 encoding.
