Problem with check constraint in mysql

I am using mysql v8.14 and I have a problem on CHECK which is given below. I want to insert just 'friends' and 'all' on privacy attribute
but mysql inserts everything.
Can anyone help me, please? Thanks
CREATE TABLE `customer`
`cid` NUMERIC(6),
`cname` VARCHAR(25),
`password` VARCHAR(6),
`email` VARCHAR(25),
`phone` NUMERIC(12),
`privacy` VARCHAR(10),
PRIMARY KEY (`cid`),
CHECK (`privacy`= `friends` OR `privacy`= `all`)
);

I am not familiar with MySQL syntax, but I would offer this observation:
In your definition of the check constraint:
CHECK (`privacy`= `friends` OR `privacy`= `all`)you are using the same delimiters (`) around both your column names and your literals. Is that correct?
i.e. in Oracle I would use
CHECK(privacy = 'friends' OR privacy = 'all')because privacy is not a literal, it is a column name.
Is your syntax correct?

    Post 5 or 10 INSERT statements. Tell which INSERTs should work, and which ones should fail because of the CHECK constraint, and explain why in each case.

  • Possible problems with Check out and Open Component and delayed publishing

    Hi,
    I've experienced some seemingly wrong behaviors of the checkout and open component and also with the delayed publishing feature, I've listed it down :
    1) The all important one:
    We know we've delayed publishing features for content, if we set the Release Date metadata at a future date, the content will not be released immediately, but do we have a delayed publishing features for a website page. Through manage website the user can add / delete a page(section), may do include or exclude from navigation etc.. but can they set a future date when a particular page can be included in or excluded from navigation? This should be a standard feature for a WCM solution and I hope there is some solution for sure.
    2) Can we set a datefield with a calendar feature as a page custom (section) property?
    3) Again the issue with checkout and open component, only the user with admin privilege seems to be able to change the content, normal contributors cannot, cause every time is tries to check in with the old author name, so the user has to have admin privilege to assign a different doc author's name. No trace also who is making the changes.
    4) Also facing a lot of problems while trying to implement when we use this checkout and open component. As we cannot check who is making the change there is to way to set us a step for self review, also user can only approve or reject but cannot edit the doc before passing it to the next step, if the step user is created using tokens then only checking out of the doc takes it pass the step user, but everything is working perfect with contributor data file. No problem whatsoever. Even if we use manual check out and then check in (i mean without using checkout and open component) this is working fine. But the main problem with non-technical users will be they would not like the content server portal at all and they would always prefer ms word over anything else. They would directly like to double-click on the website page, the word doc will pop up and they would make change and save.
    Issue 1 and 4 are killer issues for us, I need your help to find a solution. I have few more issues that i will post later.

    I was a bit low on bandwidth, so could not visit the forum any sooner.DIS is dynamic integration studio, it works on the webdav protocol.
    you will need to install DIS on the client machines. The POC that i did was integration of SiteStudio with CheckOutAndOpenInNative.
    I am also planning to referenc this functionality from WebSphere, what i have in my mind is to copy the java script from my sitestudio page and paste
    it in the JSP, and then using the CIS or RIDC will execute the serverices. At present i am stuck in some other work, If i get this thing working i will

  • Problem with check box in ALV Grid Display

    I am Displaying Material Master Data in ALV Grid Display with Check Box for each record and if i checked check box then i am processing Update operation in Database,  my question is after perform update operation check box should be clear.
    Kindly help me!!!!

    Hello Raj
    Given the fact that you do not tell us the most important piece of information (namely whether you are using OO-based ALV or not) I assume you are using fm-based ALV lists.
    In this case you probably have defined a USER_COMMAND routine as described in the documentation of the fm.
    FORM user_command  USING r_ucomm LIKE sy-ucomm
                             rs_selfield TYPE slis_selfield.
    * define local data
      DATA: ls_outtab  LIKE LINE OF gt_outtab,
                ld_idx       TYPE i.
      LOOP AT gt_outtab INTO ls_outtab
                     WHERE ( chkbox = 'X' ).
        ld_idx = syst-tabix.
        " Call your update function / method / perform
       ls_outtab-chkbox = space.
       MODIFY gt_outtab FROM ls_outtab INDEX ld_Idx
          TRANSPORTING chkbox.
      ENDLOOP.
    " And now trigger refresh of the ALV display:
      rs_selfield-refresh = 'X'.  " <<< !!!

  • Problem with Hibernate Connection and MySQL

    I have the following setup:
    J2EE web-application, Java Servlets, Jsp, Hibernate for DB persistence, MySQL 4 (InnoDB tables)
    I have not specified any connection pool parameters (c3p0) in my hibernate.cfg.xml, as the default settings should suffice for my purposes.
    I use the SessionFactory object as follows.
    In my database access class, I have a static declaration that initialises the new SessionFactory.
    Then, I use Session session = sessionFactory.getSession(); and session.close(); to do my DB access.
    Likewise, when storing data into the DB, I use a Transaction object, and use transaction.commit(); at the end of database access.
    The problem is:
    When I store data into the database, the changes do not occur on the website. In other words, the data gets stored into the tables (I check that via phpMyAdmin) but when accessing it, it only gets the old data. This is a serious problem as I am developing a website with attached CMS that will be used to update the pages.
    The OTHER problem is:
    Instead of having a static initialisation of the SessionFactory object, I created a new one every time I needed to access the database. Although I had a sessionFactory.close(); statement at the end of the database acccess, I got an exception:
    "java.sql.SQLException: User db_user already has more than 'max_user_connections' active connections"
    At the very moment I don't have access to my code.
    If somebody has a suggestion or a solution to the problem, please reply.
    Also, I will supply any code that is necessary to identify the problem.
    Anders

    Thanks for the tip, but how do you mean to update the object?
    Here is the code that stores the data into the database:
    'sessionFactory' is a static SessionFactory object.
         public static int saveOrUpdate ( Object object ) {
              int flag = 0; // 0 is true
              LOG.info("CMSLogic >>> saveOrUpdate() - object: " + object );
              Session session = null;
              Transaction transaction = null;
              try {
                   session = sessionFactory.openSession();
                   transaction = session.beginTransaction();
                   LOG.info("CMSLogic >>> saveOrUpdate() - object to save or update: " + object );

                   // Flush the session
                   if ( session!= null )
                        session.flush();
                   transaction.commit();
              } catch ( Exception e ) {
                   e.printStackTrace ();
                   transaction.rollback();

                        LOG.error("CMSLogic >>> saveOrUpdate() - threw exception: " + e);
              return flag;
         }Further, here is the code that fetches the data from the DB:
         public static Item getItemByURL ( String url ) {
              // Verify the URL
              if ( url.charAt(0) == '/' ) url = url.substring (1);
              String [] urlArr = url.split( "/" );

  • Problems with check printing RTF template

    To BI Publisher Gurus,
    I am working on the check printing RTF template and facing a few issues with page breaks, filling the insufficient invoice lines with template and positioning of the table(s) itself inside the RTF template.
    For page break, am using the following piece of code just before the end of all of my FE loops.
    <xsl:if xdofo:ctx="inblock" test="position()-1<count($inner_group)"><xsl:attribute name="break-before">page</xsl:att:attribute></xsl:if>
    the $inner_group is my group for G_INVOICES to loop through all the invoices of a check in G_CHECKS group.
    The problem I'm facing is, everytime a check is printed its printing a blank page in between. Searched all the earlier forum posts but none of the solutions worked in my case.
    Second issue, for filling the insufficient invoice lines (in my case, am printing 26 invoices per page per check), the call to the blank lines template is repeating twice and found no way to get rid of it.
    Third issue, if the check is running into a second page, the call to the blank lines template does not work and the position of the bottom part of check is getting misaligned.
    I am ready to send my template and the sample XML file to look at. Thanks for your time and effort.

    Perhaps a stupid question: is MySQL running and listening on port 3306? The problem is not always in the webapp. Perhaps you can create a small test class that uses Driver to make a connection to your database.

  • Problem with checking file existence by using app.openDoc

    Hi Folks,
    I have to create a script for a big project with many PDF's. (Just like Ingrimm - it's the same company http://forums.adobe.com/thread/747022?tstart=0) This PDF's are made of scanned images. I need to rename the files to names that are extracted from within the file. This is working without problems.
    Now there could be the case, that a filename exists already. I don't want the files to be overwritten, so the idea is, that already existing filenames are saved as filename_1, filename_2, etc... (Before I merged them, but this isn't what is wanted.)
    For this reason I need to use app.openDoc to check, if a file exists. Yesterday my script worked fine, but after starting it today, I discovered that it started again to overwrite files which are already existing.
    I added an app.alert to my catch method to see what error is thrown. The message is: 'NotAllowedError: Security settings prevent access to this property or method.'.
    After using google, I found out, that Acrobat is not finding any files. But I checked and there are files which should be doubled.
    I have no idea how to fix that problem. Anybody here who can help me?
    Regards,
    Steffi

  • Problem with check box need an idea

    hello i need some help.
    i am tring to make a attendence register as an assignment. what i am tring to do is that i can add student name in a file and then retrive them from a file and then mark there presents or absents.the part i cant get done is how do i mark the attendence. i want to display name and then the teacher can just click in the check box infront of the name to mark the present and when he clicks on the save button it would save the attendence in the file.
    now the problem is the check box have to increase and decrease if a name is add or deleted in the file
    SO does any one have any ideas what i can do to solve this problem

    lets suppose your file contains student name which are seperted by comma or space (what ever).then u can read it and open stringtokenizer with delimater you used to seperate names.count the number of tokens and create your check box on the count of tokens.There may be some good idea too and if any one have i would like to know.

  • Problems with prepared statement in MYSQL.

    I 've this code:

    st.setString(6, this.primaryKey);
    st.setString(7, this.usuario);
    I receive a SQLException with this message "Callable statments not supported" when the line "PreparedStatement st = cn.prepareStatement(sql)" is executed.
    My JDBC Driver is "mysql-connector-java-3.0.11-stable-bin" and my server is "*MySQL 4.0.17-max"*.
    Anybody see where is the problem?
    Tnaks in advance.
    Ricardo.

    I've more information about this problem.
    If I take my code and put it in a class with a main function it works fine.
    The original code is a part of a DAO pattern object that is invoked by a servlet (is the storeObject function).
    The servlet create a record, send a native TCP/IP transaction to a external system and whit this code update the record previously created with the result of the transaction.
    The system uses connection pooling. But the conection used in create of the record is diferent from the used in this code. (It's returned to the Datasource) All objects of the database process are closed in a finaly block before return the connection. (Statements, PreparedStatements , ResultSets, etc...)
    Thanks in advance.

  • Problems with recordset in PHP/MySQL setting

    We use Dreamweaver CS5 for creating dynamic pages (PHP pages with MySQL database). We test the site locally on a Windows 7 operating system with EasyPHP as WAMP server.
    We often have a problem in managing the record set.
    The following problem occurs quite often:
    We take a PHP page. We create a recordset. We use a dynamic table or a repeated region to show the results of the recordset. So far so good.
    Then we want to change something to the recordset for example the filter. When editing the recordset, the advanced mode is shown, it is impossible to swith to the simple mode.
    By deleting the recordset the problem is not solved. By deleting and afterwards rebuilding the recordset, syntax errors occur. It seems that the php code for building the recordset didn't dissapear.
    The only solutions till now seems to completely restart with a new PHP page.
    Anyone has a solution for this or anyone did experience the same problem ?
    Thank you very much in advance.
    Ilse

    You cannot switch to Simple mode in the Recordset dialog box if you have made any changes to the SQL in Advanced mode.
    Opening the Recordset dialog box to edit the settings does occasionally result in the code being inserted again instead of being changed. This appears to be an intermittent bug, which I have experienced myself, and know that others have complained about it, too. As far as I know, there is no solution other than to watch carefully the code that Dreamweaver generates.
    If you don't understand the code, you would be well advised to learn what it means and does. Relying on Dreamweaver to do everything for you severely limits what you can do with PHP/MySQL. Adobe regards the server behaviors as quick prototyping tools, rather than for developing production websites.
