Problem with code39 barcode

Post Author: rlisario
CA Forum: Crystal Reports
In a report I've insert a text object with caption 123 (with asterisk)
Then I've change in a Code39 font and in a project windows seems all ok.
But when I do the preview (or print) the barcode is become truncate and corrispond to 123 (not 123)
Is it possible that in preview (or print) Crystal Report remove the control caracter asterisk ?!?
Can be a license problem to use barcode font in Crystal Report ?
Thanks for help,Rinaldo.

  • Problem with DataMatrix barcode

    Hi,
I am using a xdp form with DataMatrix barcode in designer 7.1. I am rendering the xdp as pdf in livecycle workbench. The problem is the barcode is working properly in desinger,  but in the rendered pdf its not working, Can anyone identify which might be the cause of this problem.
    Thanks in advance,
    Kruthi

There are typically two reasons why a Barcode does not render on a form:
The barcode has exceeded it's capacity.  If the barcode is designed to hold 1,000 characters (for example) and the .rawValue is 1,100 characters then the barcode will gray-out in Reader 7.x or will simply disappear with Reader 8.x and higher.  In this case you need to adjust your code so that the capacity is not exceeded.  Try reducing the number of fields included in the data and DO NOT use XML, use tab-delimited data capture and convert this to XML when you decode the data.  You can also add additional barcodes to your form.  You are not limited to a single barcode on your form.
You are filling out the fill-and-print PDF barcoded form within the free Adobe Reader and have not properly licensed the technology.  If your users are filling in your barcoded form using the free Adobe Reader you need to license Adobe LiveCycle Barcoded Forms from Adobe.  If you do not the barcodes will disappear in Reader 8.x and higher.
This session is related to PDF417 but the concepts are the same when looking at barcode capacity: http://my.adobe.acrobat.com/barcodedformselearningpdf417bestpractices/
This session is for a prior version of Reader Extensions but will show you how a Barcoded Form should be properly licensed: http://my.adobe.acrobat.com/barcodedformsandreaderextensions/

  • Problem with printing barcodes to a Zebra printer via Smartform

    Hi
I am trying to create a printed label from smartforms, being directed to a zebra printer.  The label must include a barcode.
Via oss notes 750002 and 750772 I have imported the LZEB2 device type.
In SE73 I have created a system bar code on the new technology.
In the smart form style, I create a character type with this barcode font.
The barcode prints okay and can be read when it has up to 10 characters.
However we need a long bar code of appoximately 22 characters.
I can find no supported barcode type which will let me write a barcode of this length
The max length in the smartform style for the barcode format is always coming up as 50mm which is too short.
I have tried with using a printer bar code prefix and suffix with the native zebra ZPI-II commands, attaching to command nodes on either side of the text node in the smart form,  But this does not seem to work.
    Any advice ?
    Thanks

sounds like the variable containing the barcode data is too short...is it at least 22 characters long?

  • Hi ,i am facing problem with dispalying barcodes in smartforms

    hi experts,
i am trying to print barcoeds for there field vlaues with 3 different barcode formats .
i was used separate window for barcode dispaly in main area .
i used 3 different barcodes format for material number, bin no ,stor.location.
in output only barcode format printing for all 3.
these 3 barcodes are in character formats .
these three barcodes are displayed on main in different areas of it.
how it avoid it problem, which was leading to this problem.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
First of all check if you have selected the right option for printing the bar-codes. If the bar codes print properly then align them.
Then check that the bar-code type is selected correctly for each bar-code separately before calling the field to print the bar-code.
I you are using Zebra printer to print labels, please refer to the documentation in the company's link for commands for printing labels.

  • Problem with smartforms barcode printing

    Hi,
In my smartforms i use a simply standard barcode (CD39__00)
for delivery number; but when i print there is no barcode, there is the dlivery number as number.
I'm in SAP ECC 6.0 so with the new barcode printing.
    Where is the problem?
    Thanks a lot.
    Matteo

Hi - Sometimes if the height of bar code is small, then it prints the number instead of barcode. So please try to copy tht barcode into "Z" from se73 transaction and increase the height and then assign the new barcode to ur smartform. Doing this you will be getting the barcode printed on it.
    Thanks
    Arun Kumar
Ok, i create a new bar code bigger than the first one and now it's printed.
    Thanks lot.

  • Problem with printing barcode..

I am given only the barcode dimension and content to print it using smartforms..how do i go about it..? Do i have to start from SPAD transaction or se73.. kindly let me know links which may give step by step guideline to my problem..and in SE73 i dont know which barcode symbology i need to assign..
Also, why do we have to go for TCode SPAD?

    Hi
To Create a Bar code prefix:
    1) Go to T-code - SPAD -> Full Administration -> Click on Device Type -> Double click the device for which you wish to create the print control -> Click on Print Control tab ->Click on change mode -> Click the plus sign to add a row or prefix say SBP99 (Prefix must start with SBP) -> save you changes , it will ask for request -> create request and save
    2) Now when you go to SE73 if you enter SBP00 for you device it will add the newly created Prefix
Create a character format C1.Assign a barcode to the character format.Check the check box for the barcode.
The place where you are using the field value use like this
    <C1> &itab-field& </C1>.
You will get the field value in the form of barcode.
Which barcode printer are you using ? Can you download this file and see.
    http://www.servopack.de/Files/HB/ZPLcommands.pdf.
It will give an idea about barcode commands.

    Detailed information about SAP Barcodes
A barcode solution consists of the following:
    - a barcode printer
    - a barcode reader
    - a mobile data collection application/program
A barcode label is a special symbology to represent human readable information such as a material number or batch number
    in machine readable format.
There are different symbologies for different applications and different industries. Luckily, you need not worry to much about that as the logistics supply chain has mostly standardized on 3 of 9 and 128 barcode symbologies - which all barcode readers support and which SAP support natively in it's printing protocols.
You can print barcodes from SAP by modifying an existing output form.
Behind every output form is a print program that collects all the data and then pass it to the form. The form contains the layout as well as the font, line and paragraph formats. These forms are designed using SAPScript (a very easy but frustratingly simplistic form format language) or SmartForms that is more of a graphical form design tool.
Barcodes are nothing more than a font definition and is part of the style sheet associated with a particular SAPScript form. The most important aspect is to place a parameter in the line of the form that points to the data element that you want to represent as barcode on the form, i.e. material number. Next you need to set the font for that parameter value to one of the supported barcode symbologies.

  • Printing problem with script barcode

    hi ,
i hav inserted a barcode for a particular window field. while giving print preview it is showing barcode.
after taking print, it is not displaying the barcode.
       thank u all in advance,
      balu.

    Hello,
In general, if you want to print a barcode, somebody must draw the bars
of the barcode to get a correct print. So there are four possible ways to
    print barcodes from SAP:
    1. Print e.g. via a Barcode DIMM/SIMM
To use this way, the printer must be able to print barcodes by itself so it
needs e.g. a special barcode SIMM/DIMM module to print the barcodes.
ie: HP printers do not contain barcode fonts by default so a DIMM module
with the fonts must be installed. The print works as follows:
The SAP sends a simple printer escape sequence to the printer, which activates
the barcode printing in the printer. Then the SAP sends the barcode number and
finally it sends a printer escape sequence, which switches the printer back to
normal printing. So in this way the bars of the barcode are created in the printer
(and you only see a dummy barcode in the print preview).
Please see the following Note about the sequences for Jetcaps BarDIMM used
for printing barcodes on HP Laserjet printers:
45643 Barcode control sequences for JetCAPS/Jetmobile BarDIMM
The correct BarDIMM modules for different HP printer models can be seen on
the JetMobile website at the URL below:
    http://www.jetmobile.com/products/SJ_BD.htm
    2. Print via a barcode.dll
If your printer doesn't have a barcode DIMM, it cannot create the bars of
the barcode itself. So this must be done elsewhere. One possibility is that
you print via a Windows system, SAPSprint or SAPLPD, device type SAPWIN and
    a barcode.dll.
ie: Your printer is connected to a Windows system that runs the SAPSprint or SAPLPD program
If you print via device type SAPWIN, the creation of the print data is done in the Windows.
So the Windows may create a graphic, which contains the bars of the barcode, and send this
    graphic to the printer.
The job to create the barcode graphic is done by the barcode.dll. So it is only needed, if
you want to print this way please see the following note for more information:
14561 Printing barcodes via SAPLPD / Barcode DLL
    3. New barcode technology
If your printer doesn't have a barcode DIMM and if you don't want to use a barcode.dll,
you may use the new barcode technology, which is described in the SAP notes 645158 and 430887.
However this is only possible when printing from Smartforms.
In this way SAP itself creates a picture, which contains the bars of the barcode. This picture
is sent to the printer. One important requirement when you print the barcode via a Smartform
is that you have at least release 46C.
    4. Use of a barcode font
There are some font files (e.g. Windows TTF files), which contains bars instead of characters.
So if you use these font files, the bars of the barcode are printed instead of a text.
You may buy such a font file, install it under Windows and use it via device type SAPWIN
according to note 48803. Since release 46C these files can also be uploaded into the SAP and
    used via other device types.
Hope this information helps you resolve the issue.
    Regards,
    David

  • Problems with numeric values in the barcode

    Hi
I have a problem with the data from a numeric field, when it is encoded in the barcode the validation pattern seems to be ignored.
I have set the validation pattern of the numeric field to be
    num{9999}
And when I enter a value like "0200" it is displayed in the form as "0200", which is correct.
BUT in the barcode the value is captured as "200", which i NOT what I want. I need all four characters to be in the barcode. Even when the first one i 0 (zero).
    How can I do that?
    Kirstine

Can you send the form to [email protected] and I will have a look. Please include a description of the issue in the email as the email and this forum are not tied together.

  • Problems with stuck/dead pixels, battery life, ICS, and other problems

    Stuck/Dead Pixels:
I bought my Droid Razr at around the 21st of December last year. On or around Christmas, I found a bright red pixel on the very bottom of my screen. Unlucky for me, I was leaving for Florida on Christmas Night. I got back on December 31st. Sometime in the first week of this year, I visited my verizon store and told the customer service lady that I had a dead pixel on my screen and had just bought it. But, she told me that she needed the manager to fix this and there was no manager there. For the next week I was busy with school and sports etc and was not able to go back to the store. It was now past my 14 day return period. So I decided, its only one pixel, most people won't notice it anyway. So here I am 5 months later, just starting to discover more pixels dying on my screen. I now have the one bright red one, two light blue ones, and one dark red. I have no idea what the return policy is on defective phones, and the verizon site is designed so that you can't find anything. And an FYI, I have tried stuck pixel removers and other apps, which  haven't been successful.
    Battery Life:
I have also been finding more problems with my phone. The battery life is terrible when 4G and even 3G are on. I actually see no difference in battery consumption between 3G/4G.  My battery dies  about 4-5X faster when data is turned on, compared to using no data. I know it isn't because of the apps I installed since when I use WiFi, the battery is alright. I also make sure that my RAM isn't above 400MB, so that the processor doesn't use a lot of battery. I feel like I completely wasted my money buying the Razr. Mainly because of the fact that the Razr Maxx was announced two weeks later, which has about 80% more battery. Not only this, but I've seen the Razr selling for only ONE PENNY on amazon over the past month and it still is. I payed $300 on my Razr.
    Ice Cream Sandwich:
After these major problems comes another one, that I bet all Razr and Razr Maxx customers are still thinking about. When will I get Ice Cream Sandwich? It is very disappointing when you are told that you will be getting an upgrade in early 2012, and are still wondering where your upgrade is 5 full months in. From what I understand, we won't see an upgrade until the end of June, since Motorola has posted on their website that "rollouts" would begin in the second quarter. Even if they release it by the end of June, when will it get to your phone? Maybe another week or two for some people. This is another thing that I feel I wasted my money on. My brother told me to get the Nexus because of ICS, but I trusted Motorola that they would upgrade my phone in a timely manner. WRONG.
    Phone Freezing:
One more problem that I've had is that the phone will freeze. Usually you only need to turn the screen off and on, but once in a while, you have to completely reboot your phone. When I was coming back from Florida, right as I was about to get home, my phone completely froze. I was about to go return it, but after about 15-20 minutes, it became unfrozen.
    Motion Sensor not functioning:
Another problem, an annoying one, is that sometimes the motion sensor that controls portrait and landscape mode will just stop working. Some of the games I play are completely dependent on the motion sensor. It is very embarrassing  when you are trying to show off to an iPhone friend and major components of your phone aren't working. They always tell me "why didn't you get an iPhone?". And I really just wanted to have a phone that didn't look like everyone else's, but I guess that comes at a cost. When the motion sensor stops working, I have to shut down my phone and restart, which takes a couple minutes.
    Problems with camera:
My last problem would be with the camera. Sometimes if you bring the camera close to something, like a barcode, it will keep trying to focus, but never will. Another problem is photo quality in low light situations. It seems like the camera can't focus because it goes from being very dark into being bright because of the flash. I doubt this can be fixed because it's hardware, but a potential fix could be having the option to keep the LED light on during picture mode, that way the camera will be able to focus correctly.
    In Conclusion:
I really just want someone to tell me how to return my phone for a new one, due to the dead pixels. I also wish I could be upgraded to the Razr Maxx because of the poor battery life on the Razr, but from what other people are saying, that probably won't happen. And finally, if anyone has more info about Ice Cream Sandwich, that would be awesome.

Well since it's a Manufacturing Error it should Fall under your Warranty if you got one with your Razr. You know you can Call C.S. an they can Assist you with the Matter on it.. Just remember to have another phone so they can Trouble shoot the One that is Experiencing the Issue an when you talk to them go over thing. An they should send you C.G.A.N unless they request you to send it in before you get anther one. If you feel Better going to the Store try that. And Good Luck..

  • Problem in printing barcode in SAP script.

    Hi All,
I have defined ZP as char format and assigned the barcode name as Z_TEST which is defined in SE73 as system bar code.
Trying to display barcode as :
    <ZP>12345
    I hv tried using
    <ZP>12345</ZP>
    <ZP>12345</ZP>
But it does not work for all above options.
What is the use of checkbox Selection available in char format above the BARCODE option??? Is it related to barcode?
kindly suggest suitable solution to overcome this problem.
    Regards,

  • Problem with a Zebra Printer TLP 2844

    Hi all
We have a problem with a Zebra TLP 2844 barcode printer. I can´t print any document(common documents or barcode levels Sapscript).
I read and applied the note: "Note 179534 - Label printing with Zebra printers (SAPscript)" without sucesfully (and import ZLB_ZEB2 and zlb_ZEB non sap native drivers)
    1) printer is attached to pc-windows host with sapsprint and is shared resource
    2) from R/3, access method is S
    namepcprinter   and  Device Type: ZLB_ZEB2
    3) From R/3, the spool request for Zebra are finished ok but they aren´t printed
    4) if connect a HP printer using this procedure, then the document are printed ok.
The documents sending from Windows (words, txt docs) are printed ok !!!
There aren´t errors for sapsprint log.
Does anyone help me, is this model of "Zebra" compatible for SAP?
    Regards,
    Daniel

    Marcelo,
I would like to know which driver SAP is suggesting to use for your printer? Are you using that one?
Also, is the printer driver is properly installed?
Are you able to see the print overview?
Please check if the proper printer driver is installed. You can get an idea about the drivers from below link:
    http://www.nodevice.com/driver/company/Zebra.html

  • Need help with Adobe barcode decoder version 7.0 (PDF 417), changing the service logon user id

Hello I am fairly new to the adobe barcode decoder (PDF 417) application. We have an application that was developed about a while ago, now we are in the process of hosting the whole service in a new machine. Before hosting in new machine we were testing few things in the existing system; currently the adobe barcode decoder is running on an windows server 2003 with the "Local system account" in the Log on tab of the service. We would like to test whether the service can be run using an NT account. We did change the account from LocalSystem to one of the network account and when we start the service, it will stop immediately and getting the following error in the event log.
    Event Type: Error
    Event Source: AdobeBarcodeDecoder
    Description:
The description for Event ID ( 1 ) in Source ( AdobeBarcodeDecoder ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: Problem with the USB key: INITIALIZE.
any help to solve this issue is really appreciated. We checked the access rights of the account that is trying to run the service and the account is part of the local administrators group. But When we change the service account back to "Local System Account" it is working fine. Any idea or am I missing any step?
    Thanks
    Suganya

I just saw several of the following errors in the WindowsUpdate.log on one of my clients which prompted me to look closer, but this may not have correlation:
    2015-02-17 06:39:01:095
    112 4fc
DtaStor JetSeek failed to find a record
However, software updates are deploying and installing just fine it seems. I did update my Site Server yesterday manually, like I always do after every Patch Tuesday.
Am I not supposed to patch my Site Server manually, or should I add it to the Software Update Management scheme I have set up in SCCM?

  • Unable to scan  Code39 barcodes in 9i

    Using Oracle’s Javabean, I created a report in 9i generating code39 barcodes.
When scanning barcodes, it appears that the bean included a check character at the end of the generated barcode. Example: 1234 will scan as 1234A. Is there a way to turn off this check character?

    hello,
the java bean shipped with the barcode bean example is for demonstration purposes only and is not intended to be used in a production environment.
if you want to use the java bean approach, i would suggest you purchase one of the commercially available java beans (e.g. from idautomation)

  • Problems with JTextField

I'm having a very odd problem with a JTextField. I've got on which I'm using to enter barcodes from a barcode scanner. When I type the barcode in manual it works fine, but when I scan the barcode in I get ?'s in random positions. If I scan the barcode in more than once I get the ?'s in different places.
There is nothing wrong with the scanner because I can quite happily scan barcodes directly into a text document. Any thoughts?

    - As suggested earlier you should test the scanner
with other text components... JTextArea for exampleI tried a JTextArea and a JTextPane last night an both had the same problem. I also tried using a KeyListener. This printed out the ?'s when I used the getKeyChar() method of KeyEvent but printed some very odd (large 10 digit) numbers when I used the getKeyCode() method.
    - Determine if the characters encoded in the bar-code
can be displayed with the font that is being used with
the text fields.Mmmm, not sure how to do this.
    - Determine if the symbology you are trying to de-code
is configured correctly (and the bar-code reader is
set up to read it correctly) Be aware that some codes
have leading "guard" characters which the reader may
not be removing (this has to be set in the scanner
itself)The is no configuration for the scanner that I know of. Not sure what these "guard" characters are - maybe they are the ones I'm getting on the KeyListener.
Built a version of the GUI quickly in Visual Basic 6 (grrrrr) and when I entered numbers into a TextBox there were no problems. Could this be a Java bug?
Thanks to everyone for your help so far. Any more thoughts?
