Problem with faces : no more recognition

I am using apertures with faces since few years.
Since the beginning of this years I have no faces propostions on new pictures.
No faces propostions at all in 2012.
It still gives propostions with older pictures!
Any suggestions?

Have you done any of the standard trouble-shooting?

That's what happens when you buy an iPhone intended for a different market. If you want to avoid this, sell it and buy a phone intended for your market.

In Faces Mode when a particular face is selected it is wrongly including, from the 11.5k photos in my Aperture library, people with different names and photos where people have deliberately not been named. This happens every few photos between the correctly named ones and makes Faces virtually unuseable.
I took my 27" imac 2.8 GHz Intel Core i5 to Apple in the Trafford Centre where a patient assistant, Andy spent 2 hours trying to resolve the problem to no avail.
In his attempts, he consolidated my iphoto library into Aperture and even reinstalled Aperture. He confirms I am using the programme properly.
Iphoto Faces works perfectly and is used regularly by family, grandchildren etc,. I want to move away from iIphoto and use just Aperture as it is intended.
Can anybody help.

I have tried all aspects of the troubleshooting basics including the 1st aid section except the rebuild data basis.
The Apple assistant at the shop suggested I contact Apple as he couldn't resolve this issue.
His laptop also suffered a snag I also experience where the left & right hand pointers intermittently stop moving through the photos. I have to come out of Faces and back again for it to resume operating correctly.

Iphoto migration problems with faces

I recently attempted to migrate my iPhoto Library from my old iMac to my new MBP by copying it to an external drive and then copying that to the MBP hard drive. The iMac was running iPhoto 9 (couldn't upgrade the OS due to RAM limitations) and the MBP is running iPhoto 11. The original library had a minor problem with Faces in that it would always identify a few faces for certain people but even after hitting "confirm" it would still leave those as unconfirmed. A minor annoyance and I didn't really care. Since transferring it however, Faces on the MBP takes literally 5-10 minutes to close once I hit "save" after confirming faces. If I click on the icon in the dock during that time it says "Application Not Responding." In addition, some of the faces are now blank boxes with dashed lines around them.
I've run through all the repair options within iPhoto (via the command-option menu when starting it) including a rebuild. When that didn't help I rebuilt the library with iPhoto Library Manager. Now it doesn't recognize any unconfirmed faces as belonging to anyone whom I've already categorized. I did upload new photos, tagged a couple faces and it didn't recognize that the same face in the same scene in another photo was likely the same person as in the previous 4 photos. Weird. Stranger still is that Faces now has tagged a bunch of people with the wrong names. So I open up Aunt Jane's Faces folder and there's the faces of Uncle Mark, Cousin Pete, etc. Clearly something is corrupted. I could just go back to using the old Library on the iMac and hope it doesn't totally kick the bucket but it's never been the same since I upgraded it to Mountain Lion and I'd really like to have access to my photos on my MBP. Any suggestions? TIA.

Hi, can't be on 10.3, what is the OSX version you're on?
If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
Reboot & hold option or alt key when opening iPhoto.
Any change?

I have a strange problem with my Face Recognition. Yesterday it worked perfectly, but today it doesn't. Note that I've cleaned registry with CCleaner, but didn't backup before that (stupid..).
I've downloaded the installation of Face Recognition from Toshiba's support and download site, but to install it you must uninstall the old program. OK, but at the and of the uninstallation comes an error, quote: "Error 1326.Error getting security: C:\ProgramData\TOSHIBA\SmartFaceV\ GetLastError:5".
Than the uninstallation rolls back and I receive another error, quote: "Error -1603 Fatal error during installation. Consult Windows Installer Help (Msi.chm) or MSDN for more information."

As far as I know you can set the OS back to the early time point
Try to roll back the OS to the early point before you made all the changes
As far as I know the CCLeaner allows you to uninstall the installed applications as well. It cleans the faulty files too maybe you should clean it again before installing this application again

How do I fix this problem with Faces on my iPhoto?

Recently, I bought a new MacBook Pro (with Retina Display, Early 2015, 500 GB.) When I restored my information from a Time Machine backup, everything appeared to be perfect. However, when I actually started looking through iPhoto, my photos began incorrectly rotating themselves before my eyes.
I tried just about everything to fix this. I went through all the processes of "repair permissions," "rebuild thumbnails," "repair database," and "rebuild database," and none of those fixed the problem. Worse, more continue to incorrectly rotate themselves before my eyes as I view them. Usually, the ones that rotate themselves are portraits, but occasionally landscape photos do the same. Also, when I select "reveal in finder" for a photo that has rotated itself incorrectly, the "original file" is always correct, while the "modified file" is incorrect. I don't know why this "modified file" comes about because I am certainly not modifying it.
Taking a suggestion from a user here in the Apple Support Community, I used iPhoto Library Manager to rebuild a new library from my original one. This appeared to work really well. Although many photos were rotated incorrectly, this appeared to be organic, and I wasn't noticing photos being incorrectly rotated as I looked through them. So, I set out to complete the long task of rotating all of my photos correctly in my new iPhoto library.
However, I've encountered another problem (in the new library only.) iPhoto isn't recognizing when I change, add, or delete faces. If I do any of those three things, the information bar still recognizes the original state of faces (i.e. saying "2 unnamed faces" when I just named the faces or deleted the empty boxes.) This is annoying because it makes my library inconsistent, and I would at least like the option of using the feature.
So, I now have two iPhoto libraries: my original one that keeps rotating photos incorrectly as I look through them and one that doesn't acknowledge changes made to faces.
I would really appreciate any help in trying to fix either of my libraries. I hope to make one perfect soon and delete the other one to make more space, but I want to be completely satisfied with one before I delete the other.

Personally, I would never use a debit card online, for security reasons. If your card gets hacked its your money that is stolen. At least with a credit card it is the card providers money that is stolen.
Anyway, I would delete the app and re-install. If you paid for the app in the first place you will be able to re-install free of charge. Also, the app should allow the in-app purchase to happen again as it should recognise that you have already purchased it previously.
Finally, it might be that the 3G doesnt have as much ram as more recent models of iphone and you may have applications running in the background that are preventing the app to function with the in-app purchase unless you shut down any apps eating all you memory that are running in the background. Shut-down these apps (and the simpson tap out app) by exiting to your home screen and double-tapping the home button to show what apps are running in the background. press and hold any of the open apps until it starts shaking. close all the apps down. exit then re-launch the app.

I upgraded to Aperture 3 soon after it was released. I was naturally interested in the new "bells and whistles", but, for reasons that are probably painfully obvious, I soon turned off Faces. Over the last few days, I have been experimenting with it. First of all, as someone who has dabbled in computational face recognition, I was pretty impressed at how well it does. But the performance is clearly poor. Acting on an excellent suggestion posted in another topic, I defragmented the two volumes holding my library and my masters (both separate from my system volume). This helped a lot, almost eliminating program hangs, but Faces is still slow.
It doesn't take a long time staring at Activity Monitor to see the problem. Although Aperture is very good at doing many things in parallel, Faces uses only one core. I am astounded by this, because the job it is doing is what computer scientists call "embarrassingly parallel". It shouldn't take the geniuses at Apple long to fix that, and I think we should urge them on with a little feedback.

Problem with E61 - no more light for keyboard

I have a E61 and now there is no more light for the keyboard
I put all default settings but the keyboard stays always dark

The problem could lie with your photo detector on the top left corner of the phone. If this does not detect light correctly or if it does not detect light at all it will cause the keypad lights to malfunction.
Best let your NSC test it and repair what is necessary.

ViFindRsrc is have a problem with three or more crates

I have customer who has 4 crates of VXI hardware and in each of the crates it has 1394 VXI Control. When he runs our client software with three crates or more, viFindRsrc command will give him a error code VI_ERROR_RSRC_NFOUND. The DLL that is being use is one that we wrote and it loads the VISA32.dll dynamic.
An also when try to do the same thing here with three crates I have not problems. So any suggestions that you have to help me figure this out would be great. Also if could take some time try with any devices that you have would also be great.

What versions of NI-VXI and NI-VISA are you using?
How is your system configured? Do you have all four chassis attached to the computer directly using IEEE 1394, or are they daisy-chained off one of the VXI-1394 controllers?

Securesocket problem with 140K or more of data

Part of our program includes an email client. Recently I started trying to use the SecureSocket feature of AIR 2 to send mail.   Everything works fine if the total number of bytes sent is 130k, but at 140k or above something bad happens. The writebytes command completes but either all of the data is not sent, or it is getting corrupted.   To write the bytes to the securesocket we just do this:

You can send huge files 500k or more when using sockets and not SecureSockets with this same code.   I've also tried many modifications to the above code including writing smaller chunks with flush in between them, and writing in one byte at a time.   I've also tried this across three different smtp servers with the same results.   I'm listening for all the events the socket class fires but none of them are going off.   Basically above 130k things just seem to get stuck.
I'm hoping a dev or someone who's done this before might have some advice.

So I added a delay, now my code writes 100,000 bytes inside a five second window and calls flush afterwards.   Now it works, but this strikes me as a very bad solution. For one I'm hacking around some internal problem. Two it seems that flush must be non-blocking which is good in some cases but very bad in others. Finally I feel like my five second timer approach is dependant on the upstream connection speed.   If it were slower I'm sure it would break again.   It feels like there needs to be some better flow control here for SecureSockets.

Kerning/Letterspacing Problems with TLF - and more

I have some troubles with TLF (RichEditableText - editable) and Letterspacing/Kerning.
Problem is, that I my application uses a different rendering-engine on the server-side. Textediting happens with a Flash/Flex Client displaying serverside stored layouts, mass-printing/spoolfile generating again is being done on the server side.
Now Text looks terrible (currently most annoying when using Verdana , size 10pt). Even when typing the same word twice letterspacing of the two words looks (and is by one Pixel) diffferent.
I could life with some differences happening here and there but the Layout and resulting Paragraph height it is a complete mess. Word wrapping accours on different words in almost every line compared to the serverside template-document.
Last hope is that I am doing things wrong.
Is this correct: 10 point fontsize equals 10 pixel fontsize in Flash (as flash.system.Capabilities always says DPI is 72)?
Fonts being used are embedded in MXML style declaration.

The server side rendering engine is a complex system wich produces multiple output formats like PDF, AFP, PCL and so on using own and 3rd Pary Modules. Resulting (printed) Documents do always match each other. I know, that there can be slight differences resulting in an unwanted Linebreak.
But in the TLF output almost nothing looks like it should - it just does not match the template (screenrendering own C# Windows Textengine) or the print output. It is not about pixel, it's such a huge difference, sadly resulting in additional lines:
Picture shows Text in our Design Tool (Windows .NET Application) - Text is Verdana (regular/bold) 10pt
TLF Version - FontFamily "Verdana", Font-Size: 10
Same Text layouted in Word 2007 matching exaktly our Layout-Tool.
Typing twice I ment typing the same word in tlf editor.
Charspace between "M" and "ü" differs between 3 and 4 pixel, the same happens with "ü" and "l" - which is not a pretty look as you can see in the image.

There is a problem with Email Campaigns, more specifically saving content.

I as getting a few error messages, and decided to reboot my machine just in case.
I actually did not realise that the content I was editing in my campaign had not saved and lost it all.
After reboot I redid the content, and tried to save it. 5-8 mins later the "Connecting to... " is still displaying and I am pretty sure the content was not saved.
So I stopped and tried to save again, and exactly 10 minutes later, I got the "Error has occurred" message.
Previous to that, I was editing and posting blogs with no errors at all.
The reason I post it here is I am wondering if others experiencing the "Error has occurred" were experiencng the problem in the campaign area as well, and is BC still using that third party for campaigns? Anyway just a though to help tech people resolve this.

My Windows Account is already used to log into OneNote. It is the same Windows Account used to log into, and access online, the SharePointOnline, OneNote Online, etc., services. I tried, indeed, to sign out from my account within the client-version of OneNote
but it returns the message "We can't remove Windows accounts".
Again, this is the only account that has been used with this installation of OneNote, and it is that which has been uploaded by way of DirSync to Azure. It works for online versions of OneNote items, SharePoint and Visio, and for VisioOnline-based files
that are opened within the local client-version of Visio. When trying to open the OneNote Online notebook within the local client-version of OneNote we get this issue.
I have reinstalled Office with no success.
Any help that you can provide in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

Problems with faces in Elements 12

I've gone through analyzing my images for the year and am adding faces to some. I'm finding that the face box is not being placed on the photo. The lower right corner of all of the face boxes is attached to the upper left corner of the photo and all the names overlay each other in the lower left corner of the photo. This is happening every time I try to add new face boxes. I just updated my software to the latest and am still having the problem.

My problem with Faces, some help please!

So, I've tagged my photos with places. I've added pins manually, got pictures exactly where I want them. There's only one problem...
I go into the other view, not the map view, the list view and see that I have an 'other' category. I don't understand why though! So, for example: I have a picture taken at the town hall, so I manually add a pin, call it 'Town Hall', but it shows up in the 'other' category, not Rotherham. All it knows is that it's in England, and at the Town Hall! Annoying!
Is there a way to edit the grey information, underneath the place name, where it usually shows the town?

Thanks a lot M.R., thanks so much, you were right about that, I named a box in the home page like a box in the preview area, what I did now is change the name of the preview box area for the home page, that fixed the problem in the detail page - thanks again!! - however, that sent me another error, those 3 boxes on home page, now are not working properly, they have a margin top that is not being reflected, this is the CSS for the first box:
