Hi Sandeep,
Thank you very much, it was helpful. But i would like to see them from Application screens.
I will give you my requirement.
Need-By-Date: When ever the buyer changes need by date PO status changing to 'Requires-Re-Approval'. But as per those reapproval rules we can define some tolerances so that it will not go to whole approval process.
Thanks/ReddyThat can be acheived in R12..am not sure if that is in place in 11i

  • Creation of new document types for document splitting rules

    Hi experts,
We have copied from existing SA  document type to new document type.
In standard SAP  SA  document type - define document splitting rule, we have select  "NO INHERITANCE OF ACCOUNT ASSINGNMENT", when posting the  GL document SA  document type without mapping partner profit center, system is control the derive the partner profit center.
Our requirement is  copied from existing  SA  document type to create a new document type - we have created the new dusiness transaction variant and we have map the "classify document type to document splitting rule " and we have selet the "No inheritance of account assignment" while posting in FB01 GL document with out mapping partner profit center system is not control the " derive partner profit center".
Could you please assist us as soon as possible

    Hi,
In order to create a document type for a purchase requisition  use the path
spro-materials management - purchasing--purchase requisitions --define  document type
in that screen you select the document type you want to copy to create your document type and perform the action.
if you want to change the screen/field selection for your document type select the field selection key (if you select the document type as NBB the field selection key will be NBB.,and go to the screen and change the field status.
Hope this will be suffient for your requirement.
    Regards,
    Raghu.

  • Change Document splitting rule

Our company has been live with the new GL and document splitting for 3 years.  The original splitting rule was set to split on the Business Area.  However we would like to change the rule to split on Profit Center instead of Business Area.  Is it possible to change the splitting rules without adversely effecting the system?

    Hi Michael,
There is no harm in discontinuing the active rule but activating the inactive rule is really a big deal and SAP doe recommend this because it has potential threat. See below example.
Only Business Area active as Document Splitting rule.
Invoice was posted where there was profit center not populated for some reason and system did not give any error since it was not active field.
Now you activate profit center as document splitting characteristic
You clear the invoice posted above, system will give error like Document Splitting: Item for clearing not found which is irresolvable by the way of confguration change for which data has to be migrated using cockpit and that has to be done under SAP's Consultancy only.
If you want activate Profit Center as a Document Splitting Characteristic then go ahead but do not select it as a Mandatory Field

  • Document Splitting Rule

    hi all
    What is Document Splitting Rule?
    regards
    ch.suresh

Document splitting allows to display documents using a differentiated representation. In the representation, line items are split according to selected dimensions. In this way, one can draw up complete financial statements for the selected dimensions at any time.
Using the document splitting procedure, one can also create a segmented display of a (partial) balance sheet according to a set of legal requirements (for example, IAS) or according to areas of responsibility.
In addition, one can allocate at the time of posting additional costs (such as realized or valuated exchange rate differences) to the CO account assignment objects to which the costs relate. Assets can also be subsequently capitalized at the time of posting.
Document splitting has an effect on subsequent processes, such as closing operations, and on processes in Controlling (CO). One can use the document splitting procedure to split up line items for selected dimensions (such as receivable lines by profit center) or to effect a zero balance setting in the document for selected dimensions (such as segment). This generates additional clearing lines in the document.
For document splitting to be possible, the system classifies the individual line items as well as the documents. This takes place using settings in Customizing. Depending on how a document is classified, the splitting rule selected for a document specifies how the document is split and for which line items.
In the Implementation Guide, choose Financial Accounting (New) ® General Ledger Accounting (New) ® Business Transactions ® Document Splitting.
For more information on all the Customizing settings, see also the IMG documentation of the relevant IMG activity.
    1. Classify G/L Accounts for Document Splitting
One needs to classify the individual document items so that the system knows how to handle them. One can do this by assigning them to an item category. The item category is determined by the account number. In this IMG activity, one needs to assign the appropriate accounts.
    2. Classify Document Types for Document Splitting
Every business transaction that is entered is analyzed during the document splitting process. In this process, the system determines which splitting rule is applied to the document. To enable the system to determine the splitting rule, one needs to assign a business transaction variant to each document type.
    3. Define Zero-Balance Clearing Account
Here one defines a clearing account for account assignment objects for which you want to have a zero balance setting when the balance is not zero.
    4. Define Document Splitting Characteristics for General Ledger Accounting
Here specify to which document splitting characteristics document splitting applies, for example, profit center or segment. The characteristics that are specified should be maintained in at least one of the ledgers. one determines which characteristics are maintained in ledger by assigning scenarios or customer fields to ledgers.
    5. Define Document Splitting Characteristics for Controlling
Here specify which additional characteristics are required to be applied in document splitting. The additional characteristics are not relevant for General Ledger Accounting. Instead, they are relevant for components in Controlling that use documents transferred from General Ledger Accounting.
The selected characteristics are only transferred to the specified line items when the account to which the postings are to be made can also take the characteristics.
    6. Define Post-Capitalization of Cash Discount to Assets
Here define whether the cash discount that is applied in the payment of an asset-relevant invoice should be capitalized to the asset. When one selects this setting, the cash discount amount is not posted to the cash discount account in the payment document, but instead directly to the asset.
    7. Edit Constants for Nonassigned Processes
Here define default account assignments (for example, a default segment) for specific line items in processes for which it is not possible to derive the correct account assignments at the time when the document is posted. This is the case if the required information is not yet available when the posting occurs.
    8. Activate Document Splitting
In this IMG activity, activate document splitting. The splitting method used is that delivered by SAP as standard, which contains the splitting rules for the different business transactions. If this splitting method does not meet requirements, first define and then select own method in Customizing for document splitting
    9. Settings for Extended Document Splitting
Here define own rules for document splitting and make the necessary settings so that the system applies the rules defined and not the SAP standard rules.
    9. Define Splitting Method
Here define own method for document splitting. A splitting method contains the rules governing how the individual item categories are dealt with.
    10. Define Splitting Rule
Here define the splitting rules for document splitting.Assign one or more business transaction variants, the account key for the zero balance setting, and the leading item categories for cross-company code transactions to a splitting method.
    11. Assign Splitting Method
Here assign the splitting method to be used for document splitting after activation. If one wants to activate own splitting method, replace the standard method with own method.
    12. Define Business Transaction Variants
Here one can define business transaction variants for the business transactions in document splitting

  • How to stop document posting when filling setup tables for logistic app.

    Hello Boys
I've read several threads and weblogs about data extraction from logistic applications i.e the ones which uses the infosources like 2lis_13_vditm, 2lis_02, 2lis_03, etc, etc,and now almost every thing is clear to me but one thing: how do i actually "close the system" while the process of filling setup tables i.e MC03BF0SETUP, MC03BX0SETUP, MC13VD0ITMSETUP,  are running?
    So I have some questions
    1) which is the procedure to prevent users from posting documents for an specific logistic applications (02,03, etc.) in a source system
    3) For example when using TC OLI9BW for statistical setup from billing documents (app no. 13), there is a check box "Block all billing documents?". Is this option for such pourpose?
    4) Every logistic applications has a different procedure??
thanks (with points of course) for any help
    rgds
    A. Garduñ

    Hi Azael:
Q1: usually the BW team will inform basis/secuity about the deletion and performing of setup tables. they will fix a time after the normal hours where in all users are locked out from the system. in a sense, R/3 will be down for that time.
    2. the check box which says, "block documents" is meant to block posting. for eg: you are doing setup tables late in the evening, and you assume that no user is assessing the system, but if there is a user(just by chance) who is doing some posting and when he try to save it, the system will not allow him to do save as you cheked this option.(normally we donot use this)
    3. some LO may have different procedures, for eg IM. but most of them have the same functionality.
    hope it helps.

  • To date for document date field in setup initialization

    Hello All,
We are filling setup table for 2LIS_02_SCL and we are giving the restriction on document date in transaction oli3bw. Since there is a very large amount of data, we are restricting the start document date by 18.06.2009.
We would like to run regular deltas after initialization. So should we enter an end date ?
Can we enter 31.12.9999 as the end date ?
Please suggest  the end date for the document date selection.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Radhika

There is no need to setup an end date on your InfoPackages because once you create and schedule the delta job for this extractor in LBWE, it will capture the deltas for you no matter the dates on the purchasing document.
When doing your initialization on BW, don't put any selections. Just do an Init w/o Data Transfer and then do concurrent Full Repair extracts using the same selection criteria you did for the setup jobs. You'll get improved throughput by doing this, especially if you execute multiple InfoPackages, with different selection criteria, in parallel.
Once you have your delta job scheduled, you can then execute a delta InfoPackage.

  • Stumped on Email being redirected to folder without rule being setup

All of a sudden, email from one specific user is being redirected to a folder called junk (NOT "the" Junk Email that we all have but, a different folder simply called "junk"). There are no rules setup. If you move the emails back to
the inbox..they go right back to the junk email folder. If you create a folder and move the emails to it, then delete the "junk" folder...a new folder..same name is created and the emails go right back into it. New emails from only this one specific
user go to to the junk folder. Mailbox repair reported no corrupt objects. A complete rebuild  of the mailbox was done and the old data imported back into it. Still the same problem though. The user with the problem has email setup on a Samsung Galaxy
3 Note but, I did not see anything on it that would have allowed this re-direction. The problem does not seem to be specific to his Outlook profile on his PC as I get the same results on my PC with his account. He has Outllok 2007 and I have Outlook 2010..so,
versions did not seem to matter either. Anyone have any ideas on this..everyone I've talked to so far is baffled.

    Hi,
Glad to know that you have found the solution. Thanks for your generous sharing : )

  • Validate and update a XML document with rules

    Hi,
In my project work, I am thinking about using oracle rules BRMS (business rule management system) to validate certain rules on xml document.
Since I am new to the oracle rules, I want to know the feasibility of doing this with oracle rules.
    I have a specific question...
I have XML documents that are in different schema versions. these schema are fixed but can add them in future as well.
I have two things to do:
    1. transform a given XML document (in a one version) to another version
    2. Validate the new XML document against the rules defined in the oracle business rules.
1.I can do the 1st task using XSLT transformation. But there is one challenge. Assume that there are new tags are added in the target schema compared to the source schema of the XML document.
If there are optional tags to be added, I want to know if oracle rules can be used for that. Because I want to make these things done without changing the code (java) or the application internals.
    2. I have few questions on the 2nd issue. They are:
    a) can I create rules in oracle BRMS based on target schemas. (or to all of them. If so, what needs to be done if I add a new schema in future. How to update the rules?)
    b) is it possible to group the rules created above in oracle BRMS.
    Lets say
    R1, R2 rules are created against schema1 (version 1)
    R3, R4, R5 rules are created against schema2 (version 2)
    R6, R7 rules are created against schema3(version 3)
Can I create group R1, R2 and R6 rules in to a one group (G1) and R1, R2 and R7 rules in to another group (G2).
What are the APIs available in oracle BRMS to retrieve above defined groups at run time? (because business user can define any rules, ad group them at run time)
Once I have the groups, How can I validate a XML document against a group created above? What are the APIs available for this.
    c) is it possible to add/update/delete tags to a XML document based on rules in oracle BRMS? if so, how?
appreciate your valuable feedback on this..

    Hi Hareendra,
I think you should post your question in this other forum:

    Hi All,
Kindly guide me how can define rules for document splitting.
Kindly send FI new gl  configuration guide to [email protected]
    Thanks,
    Ravi Vruddhula

    Hi,
As per my knowledge SAP suggest we should follow the splitting rules as defined by SAP.However we can define our rules. U can copy the standard rules and modify it to suit ur requirement. The configuration path is as folloes.

Is there any associated documents to accompany them . The data transform samples are somewhat explanatory. Are the wiki chapters associated with the setup scripts ?
    regards
    Rishi

    Hi Dhaval,
The standard objects which you have mentioned are tables. And tasklist is a structure. The solution is you can create a view of the tasklist in SAP DMS object link and the dms screen in tasklist IA03 transaction. for this abap enhancement is required)(z-development). This can be achived. But the difference is that like EQUI ,MARA,LFA1 these are tables and standard objects. for adding another objects there is different method(tables). In your case it's structure so make view of it with help of abap'r.
I hope this will resolve the query.

  • SharePoint 2010 - Document Management and Security Setup Recommendations

    Greetings All!
I have a requirement where the business would like to manage various files.  The setup looks like this:
    User1
    ----------->User2
    ----------->User3
    -------------------->User4
    -------------------->User5
Where User1 has permission to see everything that is their files and everything below their level.   The lower levels cannot see files above them.  I hope this makes sense.
Right now we are using folder level permissions, breaking inheritance, and then explicitly assigning permissions - this could turn into an admin nightmare.
What other options or recommendations do you have?
    Best Regards!
    CodeYankee

    Hello,
I would suggest to create SharePoint user groups with required permission levels and add users to those groups. I think you will need to break inheritance in order to achieve your objectives but it would be easier to manage with SharePoint users groups.
    Hope this helps!
    Thanks!
