Problem with Filtering Data by Using "Greater Than" in APD
Dear Experts,
First of all, I am a novice of SAP Data Mining. I try to filter data in APD by using the 'Restrict Amont of Data (the Filter Icon).' My problem is really simple. I don't know how to filter data which have value greater than a constant.
For example, I try to keep only records which have a quantity greater than 1000.
At the selection option in the single value tab, I found only the '=' option. The options like '>', '<', '>=', etc are not found. Could anyone suggest me please?
I do appreciate your prompt response.
Seemingly, using the interval is our best solution, though it is not best for our customers.
Having already gone through the note you gave me, in fact, it is really pertinent. Unfortunately, our support package is now 13, and it is extremely difficult to retest our system if we decide to apply the support package 16.
Are there any other solution?
By the way, you deserve my point.

Hi!
I'm having trouble with filtering data from my table and don't know how to resolve it properly.
I created a tabular form my table, a few text fields that are used as input for different columns of the filter and a filter button that submits the page.
The problem appeared when I try to filter a column that has null values in the table and is editable...that's as far as I have concluded.
So when I press the button I get zero rows even though there should be some.
This is the submitted query:
select
"MSR_PRD_ID",
"SRC_STM_ID",
"ID",
"ISIN",
from "#OWNER#"."IZV_SLOG_DET"
WHERE
lower(MSR_PRD_ID) = lower(nvl(:P7_X_MSR_PRD_ID,MSR_PRD_ID)) and
lower(SRC_STM_ID) = lower(nvl(:P7_X_SRC_STM_ID,SRC_STM_ID)) and
lower(ISIN) = lower(nvl(:P7_X_ISIN,ISIN)) and
The nvl function is used so that if the user leaves the field empty it only filters by the fields that have input.
Does anyone know how I could circumvent this?
Regards,
IvanLOWER (NVL (ISIN,'Y')) = LOWER (NVL (:P7_X_ISIN, LOWER (NVL (ISIN,'Y'))))

Facing problem with a date column in select query
Hi,
I am facing problem with a date column. Below is my query and its fainling with " invalid number format model" .
Query: SELECT *
FROM EMP
WHERE trunc(LAST_UPDATED) >= to_date(to_char(22-05-2009,'dd-mm-yyyy'),'dd-mm-yyyy')
LAST_UPDATED column is "DATE" data type.
Please help me ThanksRadhakrishna Sarma wrote:

You do not need the TRUNC here in any case.
I don't think so. What if the user wants only data for 22nd May and the table has records with date later than 22nd also? In that case your query willl not work. In order for the Index to work, I think the query can be written like this I think Sean is right though. Use of TRUNC Function is quiet useless based on the condition given here, since the to_date Function used by OP will always point to midnight of the specified date, in this case 22-05-2009 00:00:00.

Jo
Edit: I think Sean proved his point... ;) -

Problems with retrieving data from tables with 240 and more records
Hi,
I've been connecting to Oracle 11g Server (not sure exact version) using Oracle 10.1.0 Client and O10 Oracle 10g driver. Everything was ok.
I installed Oracle 11.2.0 Client and I started to have problems with retrieving data from tables.
First I used the same connection string, driver and so on (O10 Oracle 10g) then I tried ORA Oracle but with no luck. The result is like this:
I'm able to connect to database. I'm able to retrieve data but from small tables (e.g. with 110 records it works perfectly using both O10 and ORA drivers). When I try to retrieve data from tables with like 240 and more records retrieval simply hangs (nothing happens at all - no error, no timeout). Application seems to hang forever.
I'm using Powerbuilder to connect to Database (either PB10.5 using O10 driver or PB12 using ORA driver). I used DBTrace, so I see that query hangs on the first FETCH.
So for the retrievals that hang I have something like:
(3260008): BIND SELECT OUTPUT BUFFER (DataWindow):(DBI_SELBIND) (0.186 MS / 18978.709 MS)
(3260008): ,len=160,type=DECIMAL,pbt=4,dbt=0,ct=0,prec=0,scale=0
(3260008): ,len=160,type=DECIMAL,pbt=4,dbt=0,ct=0,prec=0,scale=1
(3260008): ,len=160,type=DECIMAL,pbt=4,dbt=0,ct=0,prec=0,scale=0
(3260008): EXECUTE:(DBI_DW_EXECUTE) (192.982 MS / 19171.691 MS)
(3260008): FETCH NEXT:(DBI_FETCHNEXT)
and this is the last line,
while for retrievals that end, I have FETCH producing time, data in buffer and moving to the next Fetch until all data is retrieved
On the side note, I have no problems with retrieving data either by SQL Developer or DbVisualizer.
Problems started when I installed 11.2.0 Client. Even if I want to use 10.0.1 Client, the same problem occurs. So I guess something from 11.2.0 overrides 10.0.1 settings.
I will appreciate any comments/hints/help.
Thank you very much.pgoel wrote:

Installing 11g client changed something that even using old 10g client (which I still have installed) fails to work. The same problem occur no matter I'm using 10g or 11g client now. Powerbuilder hangs on retrieving tables with more than like 240 records.

Hi, I have a problem with order data. A string column has these values:
A....
B....
PSTA-FRA
PSTA+FRA
Q....
R....
If i order data directly from db ( select column1 from table order by column1 ) , i obtain this result:
PSTA-FRA
PSTA+FRA
If i create a simple report on that table and order on that column the result is:
PSTA+FRA
PSTA-FRA
I can obtain correct output if I set parameter 'Perform group on server' but if i write a selection formula :
{table.column} >= 'PSTA+FRA'
record containing PSTA-FRA value not appear.
I've tried both with Crytal 8.5 and Crystal 11 R2 sp6, database is Sybase SQL Anywhere odbc connection.
Thanks in advanceOrdering is done according to the ASCII values of the characters.
In R2 create a new report and log onto your DB and select Command for your data source. Paste in the SQL you use to get the data in the order the server users. Then you don't have to use CR to do the sorting. DB Servers are much more efficient at collecting the data than CR is.
Thank you

From date(ETTIFN-AB) greater than To date(ETTIFN-BIS) in table ETTIFN
Hi,
In my client system I have observed that in table ETTIFN(Installation Facts (Normal) for a specific operand the "From date" field contains date which is greater than the date contained in the "To date" field.
eg: from date = 20/7/2008
To date = 4/4/2008
This is observed in multiple records of the same operand.
Can any one throw some light on this issue.
1) How this could have happened, and using what transaction.
2) what will be the effect of such entry on rate category and billing.
3) how this can be changed.
any suggestion will be highly appreciated.
thanks
ajayIn my experience, this a sort of a bug that happens in several time sliced tables.
However, the programs only seem to take the BIS date into account, so this inconsistency doesn't create any problems.
If I'm not mistaken, there are some notes on this error, but I'm not sure if it'll fix the problem for every table.
When in doubt, create a customer message to SAP explaining in which cases the error is generated and ask for a correction. -

Problem with Java Dates and UPDATE for SQL2000
I am having problems with the date formats for Java. I am trying to put the current date time into a SQL table, here it the code I am using:
var Today = new Date()
var conn = Server.CreateObject( "ADODB.Connection" )
conn.Open( "Provider=SQLOLEDB;Server=(local);Database=BillTracking;UID=sa;PWD=;")
var sql = "UPDATE BillAssignments SET DatePosted = " + Today + " WHERE AssignmentID = '" + Request.QueryString("AssignmentID") + "'"
var rs = conn.execute(sql)
I keep getting different errors and I have been unable to find a solution yet. I know that I need to change the date format from the Java standard to the one that SQL likes.
Help....

Problems with a shared calendar using Outlook 2007 and Exchange 2010
Hello all,
We are having a problem with sharing a calendar using Outlook 2007 and Exchange 2010.
I will start with some background. I have just started my position with this company. I have been working with networks for awhile at the small business level. I have not had much production experience with exchange. There is only myself and my supervisor
who has inherited a midsized network which was built by five previous techs that are no longer with the company. Of course, the previous techs did not leave much documentation, so the original hows and whys for our system setup has been lost.
One of the managers has a calendar she shares with some of our users. I believe this calendar has been in use since sometime in 2006. A mailbox was created to hold this calendar to keep it separate from the managers calendar. I am not sure what version
of exchange they were using at that time, but I assume there was one or two migrations of it getting to its current state on our exchange 2010 server. At some point it was observed that the other workers she was sharing with were not able to access it correctly.
I am not fully sure what the original problem was (possibly some people not being able to see or connect to the calendar), but it was decided to give everyone who needed access to this calendar full access permissions through exchange. Correct me if I
am wrong, but I believe that gave everyone connected the ability to do anything with the calendar. Of course the manager was not happy about that. This is where I started working on the problem.
I removed everyone, except the manager who wants to control the calendar, from having "Full Access Permissions". This did have the effect of making some people just able to see the calendar and not make changes. Though there were others that were
able to connect to the calendar who I thought would not be able to. The manager that originally created the calendar did try to manage access to it through the Outlook interface, though it currently does not seem to be fully in effect.
So, to get to the point of what we are trying to do, is there a way to get the original manager back into control of the calendar though Outlook? It would be preferred to be able to keep the history of what they tracked of this calendar, so starting a new
one would be something we would rather avoid. After that, getting all of the users that need to connect to the calendar reconnected with the correct access permissions and making sure they are all synchronized.
I realize this is a big mess, and your help would be greatly appreciated.Hi Nigel,
How is the impact, just one user or all users, Outlook or OWA?
If just one user, it seems like an issue on the Outlook Client side.
Please trying to re-create new profile to fresh the caches.
Please runing Outlook under safe mode to avoid some AVs, add-ins and firewall.

Problems with a VBA Userform using Multipage (2) and DTPicker.
Hi
Problems with a VBA Userform using Multipage (2) and DTPicker (4)
On Page1 I've got 2 DTPicker, one for the date and the second for the time.
Same thing on Page 2.
Problem:
Only one set will work, if I close the Userform with" MultiPage"on page2, only that set will work.
Same thing if I close on Page 1 then just the set on Page 1 will work.
As anyone seen this problem and any work around you may think would help.
I'm using Windows 7 , Ms Office Pro. 2003
same problem on Windows Vista , XL2003
CimjetThere are a number of issues relating to the way that date pickers are handled, but the most important is that their output is text. In order to get the values into Excel, you need to format the Excel columns as Date and Custom (time format) and convert
the output to the worksheet from text to date values.
Date pickers also display a few anomalies on multi-page forms, so you need a belt and braces approach. Personally I would put the code to call the form and enter the values in a standard module (as now in the example) and use a belt and braces approach to
maintaining the format.
I think you will find the example now works.

Hi, I have a problem with filtering binary documents (.doc, .pdf, etc...). I use SQL*PLUS for remote access to Oracle 10.2 on Linux and I create table:
CREATE TABLE test (id NUMBER PRIMARY KEY, text VARCHAR2(100));
I insert to this table:
INSERT into test values(1, 'PATH/text1.doc‘);
INSERT into test values(2,'PATH/text2.doc‘);
and then:
CREATE INDEX test_index ON test(text) indextype is ctxsys.context
parameters (’datastore ctxsys.file_datastore
filter ctxsys.auto_filter’);
Message "Index created" is displayed, but objects: DR$test_index$I, DR$test_index$K, DR$test_index$N, DR$test_index$R and DR$test_index$P are empty => index wasn´t created probably.
I don´t know, where is bug, either bug is somewhere in this code or on the server (wrong installation oracle or constraint privileges). Do you know in what is bug?The following is an excerpt from the 10g online documentation. Note the items that I have put in bold.
"FILE_DATASTORE
The FILE_DATASTORE type is used for text stored in files accessed through the local file system.
Note:
FILE_DATASTORE may not work with certain types of remote mounted file systems.
FILE_DATASTORE has the following attribute(s):
Table 2-4 FILE_DATASTORE Attributes
Attribute Attribute Value
path path1:path2:pathn
path
Specify the full directory path name of the files stored externally in a file system. When you specify the full directory path as such, you need only include file names in your text column.
You can specify multiple paths for path, with each path separated by a colon (:) on UNIX and semicolon(;) on Windows. File names are stored in the text column in the text table.
If you do not specify a path for external files with this attribute, Oracle Text requires that the path be included in the file names stored in the text column.
PATH Attribute Limitations
The PATH attribute has the following limitations:
If you specify a PATH attribute, you can only use a simple filename in the indexed column. You cannot combine the PATH attribute with a path as part of the filename. If the files exist in multiple folders or directories, you must leave the PATH attribute unset, and include the full file name, with PATH, in the indexed column.
On Windows systems, the files must be located on a local drive. They cannot be on a remote drive, whether the remote drive is mapped to a local drive letter."
With accessible paths and files, you get something like:

Problem with the date conversion
Hi Friends,
i am facing the problem with the date conversion, Actuall my requirement is to pass the date to the screen based on the user setting roles(SU01).
I have fetched the user setting date format by using the funciton module SUSR_GET_USER_DEFAULTS, The function module picks the exact user date setting (Like as MM/DD/YYYY, MM.DD.YYYY, DD.MM.YY).
After that i have implemented the FORMAT_DATE_4_OUTPUT funciton module for converting of the user role setting date format into system date format.
for the english language case the funciton module FORMAT_DATE_4_OUTPUT works fine but the funciton module not supported for other languages
Can you please provide the Function Moudle for user setting date conversion.
The funciton module is most important for us,
Thanks

I'm using Oracle 9i. when I have more data in my database its acting weird. There is SELECT only from one table, but sometimes I have data from other tables aswell.
I didnt touch any config files or something else. Only created new User and DAD.
any ideas what should I do to fix that ??
thnx in adviceHello,
My guess is that you are speaking about PLSQL Server Pages (PSP), and the PLSQL Web Toolkit.
This is why I do not think that you will have lot of answer since this forum is targeted toward Web Services developer (XML, SOAP, and so on)
I am inviting you to ask your question on the general Oracle Application Server - General or PLSQL forums.
