Problem with imp

HI All,
We are facing some problem with imp. What we are trying to do is to import one table from full exp backup.
Below is my exp script:
compress </nhi3/export/epipe > /nhi3/export/exp-nov.dmp.Z &
exp holland/kangra file=/nhi3/export/epipe full=y compress=n buffer=250000 log=/nhi3/export/exp.log
Now iam trying to import one table from full exp backup using the below script.
P6DB NODE>uncompress < /rmanbkp/backup/export0402/export/exp-nov.dmp.Z > /nhi3/export/epipe &
[1] 3190958
P6DB NODE>imp holland/kangra file=/nhi3/export/epipe fromuser=baan touser=baan tables='TTIPSL042100' ignore=n log=/rmanbkp/backup/export0402/export/ttipsl042100.log indexes=n full=n
After firing this command there is no response from the terminal and nothing is showing in the imp logfile.
Only response i can see is:
P6DB NODE>imp holland/kangra file=/nhi3/export/epipe fromuser=baan touser=baan tables='TTIPSL042100' ignore=n log=/rmanbkp/backup/export0402/export/ttipsl042100.log indexes=n full=n

Hi,
Just to start eliminating potential error sources, what if you do the uncompress to file, and then try to import using that file?
Also, since you do a full export, it might take a while for the uncompress to reach the schema and table you're trying to import.

  • Problem With Imp/Exp

I have exported a database schema containing spatial data using exp and Imported it into a new database using imp. It seems to be dropping rows from the user_sdo_geom_metadata table in the new database.
Has anyone else seen this problem and is there a solution to the problem?

Oracle Spatial will only carry rows from the user_sdo_geom_metadata view for tables that have spatial indexes. You could choose to export the contents of the view by doing something like this:
create table my_sdo_geom_metadata as select * from user_sdo_geom_metadata;Export the my_sdo_geom_metadata table, then after the import
    insert into user_sdo_geom_metadata
      (select *
       from my_sdo_geom_metadata
       where table_name not in
          (select table_name from user_sdo_geom_metadata);

As per Sybrand, looks like your export dump is not a FULL export dump.
    Perform the hint given him.
Moreover, if the export was done in FULL mode, no need to create the users in advance on the target database. And also, no need to create the tablespaces on target system in advance as long as the source and target data files location same. If they are different, then you will have to create the tablespaces in advance on Target database.

  • Problem with imp in 10g, imp

    Hi,
We are trying to restore a schema by running >imp. We are pretty sure that the dump file is ok.
    We get the error

    Any ideas?
    Many thanks

    Dear Camilla,
Please check if you user impdp instead of imp command!

  • Problem with exp/imp transport_tablespace=y & CLOBs

    All,
I am having a problem with values in a CLOB column when exporting/importing a database using "transport_tablespace" command line option.
    Some background:
    Origin: 9i Windows
    Destination: 10g Windows
Export/import work without warnings. But this SQL command:
    SELECT DUMP(CAST(TEXT_VALUE AS VARCHAR(4000)), 1017)
    FROM SE_PSOI.SEPROPTEXT
    WHERE TEXT_ID = 316161
Gives me from the 9i database:
    Typ=1 Len=18 CharacterSet=UTF8: U,n,d,e,r, ,C,o,n,s,t,r,u,c,t,i,o,n
But the following from the 10g database:
    Typ=1 Len=54 CharacterSet=UTF8: e5,94,80,e6,b8,80,e6,90,80,e6,94,80,e7,88,80,e2,80,80,e4,8c,80,e6,bc,80,e6,b8,80,e7,8c,80,e7,90,80,e7,88,80,e7,94,80,e6,8c,80,e7,90,80,e6,a4,80,e6,bc,80,e6,b8,80
It appears as if there is some sort of charset issue to me. I've tried working with the environment NLS_LANG value when I export and import (and other text values come through OK - just the CLOB is the problem). After Googling and searching the forums here I am unable to find an answer.
Can someone help me or point me in the right direction?

    Matthew Lesko

  • Messages problem with ios 6

    Hi
I have problem with messages related to bank or groups or unviersity . I can see the preview of last message but when I enter for example Bank I can't see any Previous messages . Some messages contain imp information . Can u fix this problem soon as possaible please .

I'm having the same problem with texts showing as unread. I click on the conversation and then click on back to go to the conversations and after about a second the texts go back to unread. It shows as 2 unread texts from my wife. I deleted  5 messages from the conversations, and the dot went away for a second and came right back and said two unread texts again! I had her send me a text and it went to 3 unread texts. Clicked into the conversation then back out and it went back down to 2 and the stupid blue dot came back! I've rebooted the phone and that doesn't help either.

    Hi
One of the metalink note suggested trying STATISTICS=RECALCULATE in your import parameter.
Read more about it and try it.
    Hope it helps.

  • Problem with delta load urgent!!

    Hi,
I have a problem with delta load
We have an IP, which loads data from R/3 system daily, its a delta load to the ODS and it updates to the cube with the selection on Company Codes and 0FISCPER
    we are in 3.5 system
For a couple of company codes A & B, the init was done for the period 07.2010 to 12.2099 and after tht the deltas are loaded from 07.2010 till 12.2099 and there's no pblm with tht
Now, there was some updation in R/3 system and the data was maintained for the company codes in A& B for the FISCPER 001.2010 to 006.2010, for which init wasnt maintained...
now how shall we need to load the init in this case? dnt ask me how the postings was done in R/3, but my pblm is purely related to the loading data in BW from R/3, as its very imp for the customer to see the data from 01.2010 to 12.2010 in reports, but the data was only available in reports from 07.2010 onwards
do i need to create another IP and maintain the init for 01.2010 to 06.2010? so tht this selection will automatically appear in the ODS delta loading infopackage
    pls throw ur inputs ASAP
    thank you

    Hi Prince,
No need to maintain any Init for this data, It will be enough if you can load the data from jan 2010 to jun 2010 into your Info Cube.
    Follow the below steps:
1)create full load IP for this data source.
    2) give the selection as A and B company codes and 0FISCPER as 001.2010 to 006.2010
    3) in menu bar, click on scheduler --> select full repair request
    4) In the next screen check the check box and save
    5) Now execute the IP, it will the data with out disturbing your daily delta.
follow the same procedure to load data till to your Info Cube.
Please revert if you have any questions
    Regards,
    Venkatesh

Actually we managed to restore properties file on our files system. And now sap mmc shows that j2ee server starts well. But we cann't connect it by http neither deafult page of server nor any other (portal f.e.), but can connect Visual Admin.

  • Problem with Materialized Views after an export

    Hi @ everybody,
At an Oracle 11g R2 (11.2.0.3.0) instance, all actual CPU's/SPU's are installed, on a Red Hat 6 Machine i have a problem with Materialized Views from a schema, which i have exportet from an old database machine on Oracle 10g (10.2.0.1.0) to the new machine.
I've exportet with the old exp and imported with imp, because i know, that i get some strange errors because of the materialized views when i'm using the new expdp and impdp tools.
At the old machine the materialized views are so programmed, that they get an update of data at a defined time like this:
    START WITH TRUNC(SYSDATE) + 21/24
          NEXT SYSDATE+1
...But after the export this "update function" of the materialized view is not available. So i have deleted that views and recreated them with the START WITH parameters. So now they are running.
But why do i have this problem?
Is this "START WITH" somewhere written as a job or so in, for example, DBMS_SCHEDULER or something else? So i had forgotten to export these jobs or where is that defined?
    Is this a bug?
    Thanks for answers and help!
    Best regards,
    David

I can't remember the error of expdp/impdp. That is some days ago, i have to rebuild this.
I think in my scenario for the import i don't need the TABLE_EXISTS_ACTION, because by importing at the new server i've just createt the naked tablespace for the data and the users, not more. So he didn't has something to overwrite.
And i have to tell you: i'm just the dbA. The desining of the tables and materialized views is many years ago by installing the old server. I'm just to young in my company to know about the design of the instance and why it was designed so.
Anyway: my problem is, that after the import of the schemas to a new server the "START WITH" option in the materialized views is not there anymore and i just want to why so i can think about a solution for that and create it with the database designers of my company.
EDIT: And here are the SQL Statements for creating the Materialized Views:

)The own differences i can see is at the "header". In the new one is the NOCOMPRESS LOGGING Option and in the first line the code has the columns diretcly defined.
But, i think, for my problem this line is determining:
REFRESH COMPLETE ON DEMAND START WITH sysdate+0 NEXT SYSDATE+1And this line is the same at both server.

  • Problem with reached maximum number of connections to database

    Dear Experts,
Our Production system was not responding properly last week.
The below was the reply from the Basis team.
"It seems that we have again problem with reached maximum number of connections to database. We have extended this number to 100 this year and now it seems that it’s not enough again. It seems that something is running on Production, which takes over too many connections."
They have increased the number to 200 as a work around.
Do we have any means to find out, which component or application is causing the issue.
Please advise me if any better way is available to correct the issue.
    Please see the below trace.

I don't know if your card supports fglrx but I suspect it may not and the ati-drivers are for that function.
