Problem with InfoSet

Hello,
I created InfoSet with structure 1 InfoCube join 1 InfoObject. Uploaded date in InfoCube. Checked - displayed. Checked in InfoObject whether the row with the same key existed - it was. But "Display Data" in InfoSet is empty! Should be at least one row which I checked. Has someone faced with the same?
Also, little offtop but interesting to know your opinion - case where infoset behaves really strange. This another case:
Infoset: 1 infocube + 5 infoobject. Loaded data in ifocube. Checked in infoobjects - okay. Tried to display infoset - fail. Then I began to delete infoset one by one and tried to display infoset. The same fail. And, finally, just infocube remained. What do you think? "Browse data" in infocube display something, but "Browse data in infoset" - not! Take into account, infoset contains just from infocube? It's hard to guess what can be the problem. I don't have access to Oracle database to debug the SQL query generated while displaying in infoset. Who has some thoughts what can be the reason of this epic fail or how to brows data in SAP gui using SQL query, please, share your knowledge.

Hope you join between the Infocube and the Infoobject is correct. Honestly I would never ever create an Infoset with a Infocube. Why ? Because of the multi-dimensional nature of the Infocube.
Anyways, check for the join (is it inner or left outer join) . Also which is the leading object within the infoset ? is it the cube or the info object. Ideally it should be infoobject - create a left outer join of the info object with the matching object in the Infocube.
Also use LISTCUBE t-code to check the data existing in the Infoset. You can check the object that you have used for the join, the date data loaded in objects and some KFs.

i created an infoset and a query with tables AGR_AGRS (composite/single roles) and AGR_TCODES (tcodes in roles)with SQ01/02.
Problem is that some roles without tcodes dont appear in the report(no data in AGR_TCODES)
I tried to change properties of joints in SQ02 (external) but it doesnt work..

I tried to change agr_define_____________agr_agrs and agr_agrs_____________agr_tcodes using left inner joing but no result.

Modifying the Ad-hoc Query Infoset : problem with P9105 fields.

Hi all,
Am having problem with Infoset of Ad-hoc Query .
i need to add the Critical role Field Group to ZHR_PA_01 Infoset of Satandard Area.
for this i have imported that Infotype 9105 and included the following standard fields by drag and drop.
                1. Role Category
                2. Role SubCategory
                3. Global Identifier
                4. Personnel Number
and then Saved and Generated the infoset succesfully.(No syntax errors)
But
While testing, using the T-Code: S_PH0_48000510
if i select one of these above fields for the report,
Am getting the message that "Error when generating the report".
Error Description:The report cannot be generated because the internal description is invalid or incomplete.
means what may be the problem.?
if i select other fields its working fine.
can any body explain me clearly..??

yes, i have saved the T-code.and generated the Infoset Succesfully.
and its showing the those additional fields while testing.
for remaining fields its working fine.
but am not getting wats problem with the four fields of P9105 infotype.

Problem with Update Text fields in Infoset

Hi experts,
Here i would like to rephrase the question. Normaly while working with Infosets, when press "update text fields" button, those fields having text is updated. But one of my field is not updated. I need some help from you for that.
One more question i've that my field is having check table so i would like to know how exactly the text field is updated.
scenario.
Customized IT9320 has field prt_pos added. This field is having check table T528B. But i want text field to be attached is IT1000-STEXT.
How this can be done, because i suspect that just using check table field IT1000-STEXT is not attached to IT9320-prt_pos.
Please help. I'm really got stuck here.

Hi,
I'm working on customised Infotype. I need to add one new customised field ie Present Position. This field has number as well as text associated with it. There is a check table attached with this field so that text can be displayed alongwith number.
I need this field in SAP/Adhoc query. But when i go to SQ02 this fields shows only value. Text is disabled for this field. I'm not sure why is it so.
I looked into other infotype which as one field using same data element, and that field shows both value as well as text. Please help me to rectify this issue for present position field.

You would be much better off with one multi-line form field.
There are many problems with trying to determine when one is at the end of the display field with text entry.

Problem in creating a generic datasource with infoset

Dear Expert,
I have to create a generic datasource with infoset. I linked the infoset with a test program below. In the program, I have one selection option, which is s_order. After creating an infoset and a datasource, this selection option 'SELECT_S_ORDER' is added to my extract structure. However, after try filtering with this SELECT_S_ORDER, it doesn't filter data at all. Why? I want to filter data with my s_order.

Problem in Infoset.

Hi Experts,
I have one problem in infoset characteristic restrictions
we have multiprovider comprises of
1 FIAP Cube
2. FIAR Infoset
   a. FIAR DSO
   b. Credit Control Information DSO
   c. Customer master DSO
   d.. Customer Info Object
in the top of multiprovider we have created the query based on Account clerk no restrictions with characterstic value variable.
when i give the selection condition in output in Acc clerk no, in the result its shows only the value for the FIAP Cube, and not from the infoset. But when i run with out giving the value for the acc clerk no its shows the correct value ie including infoset value. After that i run the infoset with right click display data, there i restrict the Acc clerk no with values, and its showing nil values even though it contains data.
Note: Acc clerk no is from customer master DSO and FIAP Cube.
Please help me in this issue as this is very urgent.

Check whether you have assigned all the infoobjects to the respective Infoproviders in Multiprovider definitiion.

Virtual KF with Infoset possible ???

Hi.
I need to calculate a KF depending of the result of another KF in a query.
I think that a virtual KF is a solution but the problem is that my infoprovider is a Infoset.
Can I use virtual KF with Infosets ?
If not, any idea to solve this problem ?

Problems with Performance in table AUSP - R/3

Hello, I am working with the set of tables (Klah, KSSK, KSML, AUSP, CABN in SAP R3) and generate reports with Crystal Reports 2008. The problem arises when displaying the data in Table AUSP, since the characteristics (Attin) are listed as records and I must show them grouped by the field AUSP.OBJEK as columns (see how in the transaction CL30N).
I probe with infoset, query / infoset and related tables in Crystal Reports but the performance is very bad.
Anybody know of a function standard similar to CL30N or I have only programmed in ABAP?

so you are able to log on to the portal from Windows via SSO. When you access the backend from the portal it is not working, right?
What kind of iView are you using to access the backend? Can you try with a simple Windows-SAPGui-iView? Is it working then? If you are using some web-based application to access the backend there might be a problem with different domains so that the SAPLogon Ticket is not passed along (both the URL of the portal and the URL of the backend have to be in the same domain -- of course there are way to enable SSO to different domains, but let's start with this simple case)
I would still recomend to use the Note mentioned above to trace what is actually sent to the backend (I don't think that the dataSourceConfiguration file you are using has anything to do with SSO not working from the portal to the backend).

BICS Conection problem with prompts

I have one problem with prompts in Webi 4.0. I build BEx query on the Infoset, create OLAP Connection in IDT. And then I try build webi reports appear one problem, I try create prompt on key field, but I cannot do this. Earlier, then I do report on universe I can do this. Can anybody give me advise by this problem?

I agree with you but Bex do not allow you to have a restiction to certain values and then a variable on top of that. I have to build the filter in the Webi report and I cannot build it on the description. I have to build it on the key.

A problem with threads

I am trying to implement some kind of a server listening for requests. The listener part of the app, is a daemon thread that listens for connections and instantiates a handling daemon thread once it gets some. However, my problem is that i must be able to kill the listening thread at the user's will (say via a sto button). I have done this via the Sun's proposed way, by testing a boolean flag in the loop, which is set to false when i wish to kill the thread. The problem with this thing is the following...
Once the thread starts excecuting, it will test the flag, find it true and enter the loop. At some point it will LOCK on the server socket waiting for connection. Unless some client actually connects, it will keep on listening indefinatelly whithought ever bothering to check for the flag again (no matter how many times you set the damn thing to false).
My question is this: Is there any real, non-theoretical, applied way to stop thread in java safely?

Problem with Threads and a static variable

I have a problem with the code below. I am yet to make sure that I understand the problem. Correct me if I am wrong please.
Code functionality:
A timer calls SetState every second. It sets the state and sets boolean variable "changed" to true. Then notifies a main process thread to check if the state changed to send a message.
The problem as far I understand is:
Assume the timer Thread calls SetState twice before the main process Thread runs. As a result, "changed" is set to true twice. However, since the main process is blocked twice during the two calls to SetState, when it runs it would have the two SetState timer threads blocked on its synchronized body. It will pass the first one, send the message and set "changed" to false since it was true. Now, it will pass the second thread, but here is the problem, "changed" is already set to false. As a result, it won't send the message even though it is supposed to.
Would you please let me know if my understanding is correct? If so, what would you propose to resolve the problem? Should I call wait some other or should I notify in a different way?

Thanks DrClap for your reply. Everything you said is right. It is not easy to make them alternate since SetState() could be called from different places where the state could be anything else but a status message. Like a GREETING message for example. It is a handshaking message but not a status message.
Again as you said, There is a reason I can't call sendMessage() inside setState().
The only way I was able to do it is by having a counter of the number of notifies that have been called. Every time notify() is called a counter is incremented. Now instead of just checking if "changed" flag is true, I also check if notify counter is greater than zero. If both true, I send the message. If "changed" flag is false, I check again if the notify counter is greater than zero, I send the message. This way it works, but it is kind of a patch than a good design fix. I am yet to find a good solution.

Problem with threads running javaw

Having a problem with multi thread programming using client server sockets. The program works find when starting the the application in a console using java muti.java , but when using javaw multi.java the program doesnt die and have to kill it in the task manager. The program doesnt display any of my gui error messages either when the server disconnect the client. all works find in a console. any advice on this as I havent been able to understand why this is happening? any comment would be appreciated.

Problem with threads and camera.

Hi everybody!
I've a problem with taking snapshot.
I would like to display a loading screen after it take snapshot ( sometimes i
have to wait few seconds after i took snapshot. Propably photo is being taken in time where i have to wait).
I was trying to use threads but i didn't succeed.
I made this code:

Problem with threads hanging

We have a problem where our application stops responding after a few days of usage. Things will for fine for a day or two, and then pretty quickly threads will start getting hung up, usually in places where they are allocating memory
We are running WebLogic 8.1 SP2 on Sun JDK 1.4.2_04 on Solaris 8 using the alternate threading model and the -server hotspot vm. We are running pretty much the same code that we had no problems with under WebLogic 6.1 SP4 and Sun JDK 1.3.1.
A thread dump usually shows that some or all of our execute threads are in the state "waiting for monitor entry" even though they are not currently waiting on any java locks. Here is a sample thread from the thread dump (we have ~120 threads so I don't want to post the full dump).

Also when it's having this problem, the "VM Thread" is always using a lot of processor time. We did a couple of pstacks today while it was having this problem, and this thread was stuck in the ONMethodSweeper.sweep for over 15 minutes when we finally killed the server.

Has anyone ever seen anything like this? I'm trying to figure out if this is caused by something we're doing, or something relating to our environment and jvm options. Any ideas?

Thanks for the reply - I'm testing our app with the +UseConcMarkSweepGC now in our test environment to make sure it doesn't cause any problems there. Unfortunately the only place we've had this problem is on the production server, so it's extra difficult debugging this.
We're using the following memory options:
-ms512m -mx512m -XX:NewSize=128m -XX:PermSize=192m -XX:MaxNewSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=192m -XX:SurvivorRatio=8and the following debugging options, as we've also been seeing OutOfMemoryErrors ( see http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=37&thread=522354&tstart=45&trange=15 )
-verbosegc -XX:+PrintGCDetails -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -XX:+PrintHeapAtGCBTW, which c++filt version and options are you using? Our Solaris boxes only seem to have the GNU version installed. I was trying to run that on some of the other stack traces and wasn't getting anywhere, and didn't know if because it was GNU version wouldn't work on something compiled with the Sun compiler.

Problem with threads and ProgressMonitor

Dear Friends:
I have a little problem with a thread and a ProgressMonitor. I have a long time process that runs in a thread (the thread is in an separate class). The thread has a ProgressMonitor that works fine and shows the tasks progress.
But I need deactivate the main class(the main class is the user interface) until the thread ends.
I use something like this:
LongTask myTask=new LongTask();
myTask.start();
myTask.join();
Now, the main class waits for the task to end, but the progress monitor don`t works fine: it shows only the dialog but not the progress bar.
What's wrong?

Is the dialog a modal dialog? This can block other UI updates.
In general, you should make sure that it isn't modal, and that your workThread has a fairly low priority so that the UI can do its updating
