Problem with listener process

First, happy new year for everybody.
I'm under Linux and i have a problem with a listener process in Oracle 10g 10.1.0.3.
From time to time, my listener process hang-up and it becomes impossible to obtain a Oracle connection.
With unix 'ps' command, i can see strange process.

If a stop and restart the listener, i don't have any more problem.
I suspect OEM agent because each time i noted the problem, the agent was running .

we had exactly the same problem this morning with our listener. We don't run OEM, and the listener.log file didn't have any errors in it. The log shows new connections up to the point where the second process starts (we know this from date stamps on the processes) and the next thing that appears is the listener starting again (after I've killed both listener processes and started the listener again)

According to the actual process - the secondary lsnr process's parent was the initial one. It's almost like the first process spawned the second one.
We thought it might be one of the limits (we're running AIX 5) on the user running the process - but I suspect not as the same user is running the Oracle DB processes and they don't have any issues.

Problem with XSQLRequest.process

Problem with XSQLRequest.process:
I'm trying to run XSQL files using XSQLRequest.process. I'm working on the chapter 3 examples in Muench's book and got FAQXML.xsql running okay but have had problems with: FAQhtml.xsql BTW I am calling them from a different directory and am using 9iAS under win2K SP3.:
I've fixed errors such as:
End tag does not match start tag 'img'.
by adding </img>
and:
End tag does not match start tag 'META'.
by removing the <head> section from the xsl.
But now i've got:
XML parse error at line 2, char 1
Expected 'EOF'.
and don't have a clue.
Some questions I have are:
--Why don't I get these errors when I run the same files from Internet Explorer?
--Where is the intermediate XML file?
--How will I get HTML output?
I'd appreciate any help you could suggest.

Well, in answer to your import question, yes. Xerces can import Xerces documents properly. Thus if we use Xerces importNode on a document parsed/created using Xerces' DOM implementation, the attribute values stay.
We are using Xerces because it is the foundation of our infrastructure layer (which is partly because it's used in Catalina).
Question. Is it possible that XSQLParserHelper which, as you say, uses an instance of oracle.xml.parser.v2.DOMParser to parse the document, is having trouble with different versions of DOM? I ask because we've noticed that to use Catalina and have its class loader to function successfully, we had strip all the DOM classes from xmlparserv2.jar

Problem with a process chain transport

I have a problem with a process chain transport, I transport it but when I see the changes in testing environment I dont see it, I did it four times but nothing happen and I dont have errors.
Can anybody tell me how to transport a process chain.

Hi Federico,
When you tranport Process Chains, initially chains will be available under "Not Asigned" node in RSPC Transaction. The transported chains wont be get highlighted automatically. Manually need to open the chain in update mode and activate it on Quality.

Problem with listener whe I create a new instance

I can not create two instances on my Oracle data base, the listener is not running or the service is not registred. This is my state:

My user is a special user called 'oracle' and it is not sudoer.
when I try to create the second instance the wizard tell me that the Enterprise Configuration is failed because the listener is not actived or the data base´s service is not registred in
it. I do not write the exact output because it is in spanish and I write a translation.

I am sorry if there is any inconsistency but I am not the final user, I don´t know if the final user had some conection´s problem but I could access to the Enterprise Manager in the instance and I had to restart the computer many times after the first configuration, but the user never tell me anything about problems. I only access to the instance with the Enterprise Manager and it´s running

I have a problem with APSDeamon.exe. It do not close properly. If I open iTunes and then close it and try to re-open it again. I must end the process in the task manager to be able to open the software. Has anyone got this kind of issues??

Problems with OPMN process (very unstable) on Windows Vista

I am running SOA on Windows Vista(V10.1.3.1). I am having the following problems with the OPMN process
 
1) Shuts down when idle
 
2) After crashing I try to restart SOA Suite using the command line>opmnctl startall
 
I get the error message..."Unable to Open Service with error Access is denied."
 
If I use the command line>opmnctl start
 I get the error message but OPMN process starts????
 
3) but then...Crashes when trying to Deploy a webservice through Application Server Control.
 
Anyone else having these sort of issues and have come across a fix?

I'm also having the same problem (on XP) on 10.1.3.4 I'm guessing this is a security issue but can anyone tell me how this can be resolved.
It appears to work fine as Admin but regular users without Admin rights have the above issue.

Problem With Listener Service: Long Delay Starting Listener, Intermittent Connections

I am having trouble connecting to my Oracle database. I'm not sure what the cause was, but now when I connect to a database that has been working fine for the past two years, I usually get a ORA-12541 error.
I run lsnrctl status on the server and get a prinout like this:

I've also tried manually stopping the service via services.msc and then restarting via lsnrctl start, but when I do this I get a really long delay (10+ minutes) before it returns with something like:

However, a few times during this I've been able to connect to the server, via sqlplus, but it has taken 10 minutes before the connection comes online. Once I'm connected, I can query my tables as expected, but I need an application to connect.
If anyone has any ideas on what could be wrong, please let me know.

When I opened up netca, I didn't have any listeners configured, which seems very strange. When adding it, I get this message in the cmd window:

Problem with Dialouge process

Hi Experts
We have a peculiar problem, i am not able to analyze the cause.
The scenario is that our system is getting into dumb state and when we checked with our basis guys they have said that all the dialogue work process are busy so its going into dumb state...we are just runing five queries and if it is only this for five queries then i am just horrified with situation when i imagine around 80 users runing the reports and to restore the situation we have to restart our server.
and we are runing the reports on portal only can somebody throw some light on this please.

Hi,
tell your basis guy to extend the number of dialog processes in your BW instance
Goto RZ10 and display the basic maintenance of the reporting application server profile; you'll see there the current values.
As an example, we have more than 500 users reporting exclusively via Web frontend and for the moment our reporting application server is runing smoothly with 24 dialog processes; Since our average navigational step is around 10 seconds, if 24 users are concurrent, they would wait in average 10 seconds for a dialog process to be free; queries on multicubes with paralel processing are as well extensively used therefore a navigational step on these queries can eat 10 DIAGS simulatenously during a couple of seconds...
We never had any issue of this kind.
When you say that the system is dumping, could you please be more precise? I don't think this is due to the number of processes; I rather think that the dump is a TIME_OUT issue... Check the parameter rdisp/max_wprun_time in RZ11 and tune it accordingly... We have 3'600 seconds there...

Execution of a workflow ended with an error. When I try to execute again I get an error.
But when I try to deploy , also I get another error

Hi Federico,
When you tranport Process Chains, initially chains will be available under "Not Asigned" node in RSPC Transaction. The transported chains wont be get highlighted automatically. Manually need to open the chain in update mode and activate it on Quality.

Problem with triggering process chain

Hi
We have a remote process chain that calls a process chain in another system.The process chain in the other system is not getting triggered with the remote chain.
We have 3 such remote chains and we are facing such a problem with only one of them.
The process chain in the other system has a start variant which gets triggered( i suppose) and gives an instance id...the next step in the process chain is to load data into a ODS.Now this step remains yellow forever.When i manually try to schedule this step it gives me records and the request in the monitor screen turns green.But the process chain step continues to remain yellow.
What can be a way out for triggering the process chain or where could the problem be?

Even though ur process seems to be in yellow your data loading may be completed and the reason for it may be the delay in activation of ODs by ur PC.
For your information please go through the below infm provided in SAp Library
Note when loading into an ODS object and for the subsequent, event-controlled update:
If you switched on the automatic activation in the ODS maintenance or administration, the monitor status for the request remains yellow after the load was successfully completed. Nevertheless, the subsequent processing for the InfoPackage is started, because the loading process is successfully completed.

Problem with LSNRCTL process

The process still growing in memory usage.

Is any shared server user run reports.
shared server environment is used fro small transection.
if any user who belong to shared server run heavy transection then it create problems.
I think if you check it and if find such a user the use dedicated connection for such user.

Strange problem with backgroung processing of BDC for Transcation CLMM

Folks,
I have encountered strange problem with BDC.I created an ALV report from output i select any number of rows and hit insert class button on top. If i select less than 10 row and use this statement
call transaction 'CLMM' mode 'N'
,it works fine but if i select more than 10 rows ,the sy-subrc after this statement
call transaction 'CLMM' mode 'N'
is 1001 means an error. I cant understand this problem of Mode N. if i put statement
call transaction 'CLMM'
(foreground processing) here ,everything works fine. Do you have any idea?

Hi,
The problem is due to the screen size which can differ between foreground and background mode.
A screen with 10 table rowsin foreground does not necessarily mean same number of rows would be available in background mode.
Hence its always better to create recording with Simulate Background Mode as checked.
When you enter transaction code 'CLMM' in SHDB transaction and start recording, check Simulate Background Mode.

Problem with Oracle Processes - ora_cjq0_ SID and ora_qmnc_ SID

Hello,
We are having problem with few Oracle Processes which are failing by themselves and also cosuming high CPU load. Few of the Processes are :
ora_cjq0_<SID>
ora_qmnc_<SID>
I did not find any relevant SAP Note about the above two Processes.
Could you please throw some light on the above two processes? Will they stop being acitve once their work is done?

You hit the bug 8412426 "WARNING:Could not lower the asynch I/O limit" messages. Check the document, below;

As far as I understand that this bug has no side effect, except filling your trace file, consequently the storage. Oracle suggest upgrade to 11g.
