Problem with TextEdit to write html

Hello, I use TextEdit to write html.
I have activated the option "ignore rich text commands in HTML files" and the html documents open as web source, but when I edit the code and save the document the extension html change to .txt
I work with TextEdit 1.7 (Mac OS Lion), but with TextEdit 1.6 (Mac OS Snow Leopard) the extension doesn't change.

Problem with NIReport.llb\Print HTML Report using IE.vi on different machines

We have 5 machines here in our workgroup which have the same state regarding security patches and other system updates. We recently found out that there is a problem with the NIReport.llb\Print HTML Report using IE.vi on the different machines.
If I would open the VI on MachineA the control could be loaded. If I would open the VI on MachineB the control could be loaded. If I would copy the VI from MachineB to MachineA and open the VI the control could not be loaded. If I would copy the VI from MachineA to MachineB and open the VI on MachineB the control could be loaded. MachineB could load the version from MachineA and MachineB but on MachineA only the own version will load. I have seen that both versions have the same GUID for the Microsoft Webbrowser but are different in some other aereas.
Since printing HTML Reports is part of the application which will be distributed as application I want to know if someone else have seen such a behaviour or has got problems distributing an application.
Also I want to know which additional information is stored in an Active-X container about the control beside the GUID.
We have Win XP Prof SP2 with MS IE 6.0.2900.2180 on all machines in the workgroup.

this is the VI <vi.lib>\Utillitiy\NIReport.llb\Print HTML Report using IE.vi copied from a machine that can load and run the VI and it will print. On this machine the control in the VI is white.
This VI will give the "Control could not be loaded" message on my machine.
The file shdocvw.dll is 2006-10-23 16:18 size 1.460 KB and I verifyed that both machines have the same version of this file.

Problem With Creating a Huge HTML document In Portal

Hallo,
I am trying to insert a 735 lines long HTML into Portal. When I press the finish button I get the following error message:
The requested URL /pls/portal30/PORTAL30.wwv_builder.accept was not found on this server.
If I then go back and take out one of the forms I have in the HTML file and press the finish button, Portal accepts this.
I am sure the problem is related to the size and not code because I have tested the form alone in Portal and it works.
Would anyone know of a way around this problem?

Problem with SAP GUI for HTML

I am creating a SAP transaction iView with SAP GUI for HTML. I have give the Transaction code VA01 but when i execute the the iView it is displaying the SAP Easy Access screen in html. Can any one suggest me how to rectify this error and display the required transaction in html.

Try this in the browser:
http://<host>:<port>/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/va01?sap-client=100(XXX)
1) It will ask for the username and password
2) Enter the credentials and it should directly take you to the VA01 transaction
If it fails again, try this:
http://<host>:<port>/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/vl31w?sap-client=100(XXX)
This should display the "Create Inbound Delivery NotificationTitle Create Inbound Delivery Notification " sreen."
If it faisl again, there is some problem with the way the ITS has set up. Check with your basis.

Why i connect my Iphone 5 to ITunes, and the ITunes can not connect the Phone and writes" Itunes cannot sync photos to the iPhone because you do not have write access to the folder" Ichat Icons"??

lots of people having the exact same problem with the new update.
Apple does not seem to care -- there is no fix at this time.
Best thing to do it keep calling them.

HT2523 Can I use TextEdit to write HTML?

I'm starting to try and practice writing baisic HTML and I'm wondering if TextEdit can be used to write HTML and save it as a HTML document. All feedback appriciated.

Yes you can. It is very basic but it will work. When you do your code, simply Save As and type in "html" where "txt" of the file name, then hit save. It will save it as an HTML document.
But as Matt is saying there is a lot of easier software out there to write HTML.
The best website where I learned HTML (and other scripting language) is at http://www.w3schools.com which is a free website where you can easily learn HTML. They even have lessons where you can practice right on their webpage.

Problems with running Applet through HTML

I am currently having problems with running my file through the HTML. For some reason when I open it in the browser it keeps saying Error. I am programming in NetBeans.
The code I am using is:

Problem with display of DW html template

I need some help on a problem I cannot see...
I re-did a client's site with one of the templates that DW
came with.
On my PCs and on all PCs I have access to, in all Browsers
and OS that
es I have access to, Firefox, Seamonkey, IE, Windows Vista,
XP
everything looks perfect.
But on my client's computer, the menu is on the left and the
content
appears on the bottom of the page, vertically after the menu.
I cannot
see it, so I am in the dark with my adjustments.
I used this template before for another client and he
reported the same
problem. It seems to happen when the content is wider than
the defined
width of the content, but this time, there is mostly simple
text.
Could my style sheet cause this? Please help me solve this,
because I am
blind, so to speak.

Problem with passing parameters from HTML

Im unsure as to where to turn next with this problem. What is making it all the more infuriating is that I have had this code working previously and now cant for the life of me figure out how I did it.
What Im trying to do is I have a HTML page with two buttons on, one called "Submit Application" and the other "Submit Resource" and when I click on one I want a JSP page to be called and a certain piece of SQL to be executed, likewise when I click on the other "Submit Application" button I want a separate bit of SQL to be executed. (I know in this example both bits of SQL are identical but that is just while I get the functionality correct).
Whats happening is that the first bit of SQL will execute if I click the "Submit Resource" button, however when I click the "Submit Application"
button I get a "Error 500:" displayed. Im at the end of my tether as to what to do next and as I say it makes it all the more infuriating in that I had it working before. So any help would be greatly appriciated.

You make your comparisons like this:
if (!Subapp.equals (null))
Well, what happens if Subapp IS equal to null. The .equals method call will be called from a NULL and you will get a NullPointerException.
When testing for null you do:
if (Subapp == null) (or if (Subapp != null)
This is okay when dealing objects even with the mantra of 'don't use == to compare objects, because what you are really testing is if the reference points anywhere, and == will compare the reference.
Also, next time you post, make sure to use the [code] tags as described in the [Formatting Help] link. It will make it easier to read.
Also, you should try to remove the SQL from the JSP. Move it into a Servlet which builds a List that forwards to another JSP for display, or use a bean. Using java classes like Servlets and JavaBeans makes it easier to debug, and makes your JSP code easier to manage.

Problem with Servlet that generates HTML

Hello,
I have a servlet that connects to a database to get some information which it displays in a HTML file generated by the same servlet.
For each line that I want to display from the Database I create the following in my servlet:
<input type="hidden" value="Ajax-Chelsea" name="bet_1_choice"/>
However, when I test it in Tomcat it doesn't work, and I realised in Firefox that it gets the above line as follows with the bold part added:
<input type="hidden" )="" value="Ajax-Chelsea" name="bet_1_choice"/>
I also use a javascript to add the DB information in another area of the HTML page, another table, but I don't know if this is relevant.
I don't understand what is wrong. Can someone help me please?

Actually the problem was my javascript. Now it is sorted out.

Problem with .PDF files from .html files at pagebreaks

I am using DW CS5. When I make a .pdf from the .html file it is not handling the images with captions correctly, or even consistently, at the bottom of the .pdf page.

The test page repeats the same image with caption several times.
See at the bottom of page 1. There is not enough space for Image #3 so it correctly puts it at the top of page 2. However it puts the caption for Image #3 in the vertical position as if there were no page break and Image #3 were positioned just below the caption for Image #2. Here is a screenshot of the bottom of page 1:
It then places image #4 below the caption for Image #3, which results in Image #4 being on top of Image #3.
At the bottom of page 2 there is not space for Image #6 so it puts it at the top of page 3. It properly places the caption below Image #6 and properly places Image #7. Here is the bottom of page 2;
At the bottom of page 3 there is not space for all the lines of the caption, so it puts the last line of the caption for Image #8 at the top of page 4. This is o.k. Here is the bottom of page 3:
I can live with it breaking up the caption (not ideal) but not with the caption overwriting the image or images overwriting images.

Problem With SAP GUI for HTML iView

Hi All,
I have created a transaction iView(SAP GUI for HTML) for the T code SE12, when I view the iview, it get loaded for the first time and if I log out and when i again login to the portal and view the transaction iview it is not getting loaded. If I clear the cache(By pressing Ctrl+F5) the same iview get loaded.
Could any one help me in solving this problem

For SAP transaction iViews better to use SAP GUi for Windows option instead of SAP GUI for HTML.

Problem with embedding Flash Text/HTML Code

Hey all, im new to DW and just created a html page with a
black background and a picture. I also added a flash text called
"Enter Forum" by using "Insert>Media>Flash Text"
When i copy and paste the code that is generated in the
"Code" section/tab on to my server in the index/html and go to view
my site it is not there. I uploaded the .swf file to my server
also, i have played around with the coding a bit to see if i was
doing anythng wrong but nothing works. Below is the code DW renders
to me. I simply copy and paste this code that DW renders and paste
it in to my server's index.html (Main Page) file. I checked the emd
src and all thats correct.

Can you post the url to show us the page on your server? If
you copied
everything, it could be you have too many doc types, headers
and body tags
in your index.html page.

Problem with accessing parameter in HTML client, Access is not possible before created.

I have one Screen in which I set a date.
I pass the date to another Screen. In this screen I have a tile list showing all the busses and I want to show the current number of orders of the passed date for each bus.
So I created a custom field in the tile for showing the amount of orders, and it workes fine for a hardcoded date.
But I have no access to the passed parameter, because it is to early.
I get access after Screen.created to the Parameter, but there it is too late, because the list is already created with 0 as order Count.

The result is as slow that you can count the order with your fingers, but it works.
If you use a
WCF RIA Service the result will be fast. The calculations are performed inside SQL server and returned to the LightSwitch client in a single call per page.
You can also use a Web API call but for a table of data it actually takes a lot of careful JavaScript code and you lose the drag and drop and strong typing in the HTML designer.
