Problem with the Danish characters

Hi,
I am generating an XML file from a custom smartform and saving into a folder in the application server. When the file is written into the application server, the Danish characters are not coming properly. Probaly this is a issue related to the codepage that the XML file is using. I am using the following technique to write the XSF data returned by the Smartform auto generated funciton module into the application server. The generated xml file starts with something like <?xml version="1.0"?> and it seems that the encoding header attribute is missing somehow and I dont know how to put it.
data wa type bin1024.
data length type i.
DATA dsn(50) VALUE '/tmp/test.xml' .
length = P_OUTPUT-XSFLENGTH.
OPEN DATASET dsn FOR OUTPUT IN BINARY MODE.
loop at P_OUTPUT-XSFDATA into wa.
  if length > 1024.
    transfer wa to dsn.
    length = length - 1024.
  else.
    transfer wa to dsn length length.
  endif.
endloop.
close dataset dsn.</i>
I am desperately trying to find out a solution to this. It would be nice of you if I can get a quick solution.
Thanks in advance
Nilay Ghosh

Hi Nablan,
Thanks for your quick reply. The raw XSF data is stored in the P_OUTPUT-XSFDATA as multiple lines of 1024 bytes. Actually I have slighly changed the logic for transfering the XML data into the file and following is the latest one.
    DATA: l_last TYPE i,
          l_len TYPE i,
          l_sytabix TYPE int4.
    l_len = 1024.
    l_sytabix = l_xmlsize DIV l_len.
    l_sytabix = l_sytabix + 1.
    l_last = l_xmlsize MOD l_len.
  Open the file in the appl server
    OPEN DATASET l_xml_filename FOR OUTPUT IN BINARY MODE.
    IF sy-subrc = 0.
      it_xsfdata[] = p_it_output_data_xmloutput-xsfdata[].
      LOOP AT it_xsfdata INTO wa_xsfdata.
        IF sy-tabix = l_sytabix .
          TRANSFER wa_xsfdata TO l_xml_filename LENGTH l_last .
        ELSE.
          TRANSFER wa_xsfdata TO l_xml_filename .
        ENDIF.
        CLEAR: l_data,wa_xsfdata.
      ENDLOOP.
      REFRESH it_xsfdata .
      CLEAR: it_output_data,p_it_output_data_xmloutput.
    ELSE.
      MESSAGE i000 WITH text-007.
      LEAVE LIST-PROCESSING.
    ENDIF.
    CLOSE DATASET l_xml_filename.
But it has basically nothing to do with the code page because I am getting a complete XML file which I can successfully open in the browser after downloading it into my local machine. There are certain options with OPEN DATASET command for setting codepage etc. but I was unable to use them successfully.

  • Problem with the International characters u00E0, u00E8, u00EC, u00F2, u00F9

    Dear Experts,
    My requirement is to send data files from SAP to Hyperion(Data Warehouse Tool) via application server. Here few fields(can be material description/ Name/ Address) contain international characters like à, è, ì, ò, ù (this is an example). So I need to send their equivalent characters (i.e a, e, i , o, u) to Hyperion. that is when I create a file in application server characters a, e, i, o, u should
    contain in the file.
    I used  ENCODING NON-UNICODE, UTF-8, DEFAULT but no use.
    Pls assist me.
    Thanks,
    Dharmendra Gali

    If you just have the couple of characters mentioned, use Jürgen's suggestion. Otherwise I'd recommend usage of SAP function module SCP_REPLACE_STRANGE_CHARS, which is much more comprehensive. Note that depending on your invocation though you might get multiple characters for some, e.g. ä to ae. To some degree you can control this, see my comments in Re: Removing diacritical (special & accented) characters in SAP.

  • Problem with the French characters

    Hi,
    I am new to XML Publisher and started with very simple report to test. “Tax Names Listing” report in Payables. I created simple rtf template with 3 fields and one of them is description of the tax code. Everything works ok but when I added French char to the description, report is completed with warning and with no output. The log says “One or more post-processing actions failed.” My file language and territory was English-Canada but I tried with French-Canada also, I got the same result. We have Oracle Apps 11.5.10.2. Can someone say what exactly is wrong? Is there any step I am missing?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Problem with the Non-English Characters

    Hello,
    I have been using Adobe Illustrator  but I have a huge problem with the non-english characters with Standart Fonts. With the Professional font's I have no problem with them. But when I'm using any standart font in font folio library I cannot type any "ğ-İ-ş". I can add those letters in fontlab with the glyphs (scedilla, idotaccent, gbreve). Most of the fonts have those letters already prepeared so I dont even have to redraw. But I can't add those glyph to every single font because I dont have that kind of time and patience. Is there any better solution for this? Or is there any font folio pack that all fonts are PRO.
    I'm looking forward for your answers
    Thanks.

    Joel wrote: I'm told that this is the exact difference between Adobe's Standard and Pro fonts — the Pro fonts have additional glyphs, including those necessary for extended Latin script.
    Exactly. The Pro fonts have at a minimum the Adobe Western 3 character set, which is essentially western European + Adobe CE.
    > Standard fonts just have the basic English character set, with maybe a bit of help for Spanish and French.
    A lot more than that!
    > You're doing Turkish, right? Adobe's coverage for Turkish in its fonts is not great - some of the Pro fonts have Turkish coverage, many do not.
    This is false. Every single Adobe Pro font supports Turkish.
    To be clear:
    All Adobe Standard fonts support the following languages: Afrikaans, Basque, Breton, Catalan, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, Gaelic, German, Icelandic, Indonesian, Irish, Italian, Norwegian, Portuguese, Sami, Spanish, Swahili and Swedish.
    Adobe Pro fonts support those languages, plus AT LEAST: Croatian, Czech, Estonian, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Romanian, Serbian (Latin), Slovak, Slovenian and Turkish. Some Pro fonts have more language support than this, such as Greek and/or Cyrillic, and additional extended Latin.

  • 0CUSTOMER_TEXT - problem with the cyrillic (ukrainian) characters

    Hello,
    Within the framework of Ukrain deployment, I try to extract customer texts (0CUSTOMER_TEXT) and I meet a problem with the cyrillic (ukrainian) characters. All of them are replaced by a '#' (into the table /BI0/TCUSTOMER & into the PSA too).
    From SAP marketplace source, customer text comes from KNA1-NAME1.
    The funniest thing is that the cyrillic (ukrainian) characters extracted by 0CUSTOMER_ATTR are accurately uploaded and specially 0NAME attribute filled by the same r/3 field KNA1-NAME1.
    FYI: I checked the configuration of RFC connections and for all of ABAP connections have the radiobutton UNICODE selected.
    Could someone help me?
    Thanks in advance,

    I found a problem with non-ASCII characters in the Unit Test Import for Linux.  This problem does not appear in the Unit Test Import for Windows.
    I have attached a Unit Test export called PROC1.XML  It tests a procedure that is included in another attachment called PROC1.txt. The unit test includes 2 implementations.  Both implementations pass non-ASCII characters to the procedure and return them unchanged.
    In Linux, the unit test import will change the non-ASCII characters in the XML file to xFFFD. If I copy/paste the the non-ASCII characters into the Unit Test after the import, they will be stored and executed correctly.

  • Problems with Greek accented characters

    After the update to AIR 2.0.2 I cannot input into any application greek with accented characters.
    Tried TweetDeck and Twhirl and neither work (used to before the update)
    Is this a bug or it needs some configuration
    I am working on Fedora13 but heard the same problem reported on Ubuntu.
    Have not tried on MS Windows or MacOSX

    Hi,
    I'm using Adobe AIR 2.0.3 on Windows machine. I wrote an app in Aptana Studio (build: 2.0.5.1278522500) with ExtJS library and I found the problem with polish national characters like ż and Ż (all the other national characters like ą, ę, ń are possible to input).
    In order to reproduce, here you have the sample code in ExtJS:
    http://dev.sencha.com/deploy/dev/examples/form/anchoring.html
    As you will see - it is possible to input ż and Ż in text fields.
    Now, use the same code to build AIR applicaton and then run the application. It is not possible to input those characters in Air window. Right Alt+z acts like undo operation - it removes last entered text. All the other characters work fine.
    Here is the code I used:

    Is it possible to input those characters or is there a workaround for this (disable undo operation or so) ?
    I really appreciate any help.

  • Problems with Turkish special characters

    Hello!
    We are producing Oracle Help with WebWorks Publisher 2003 Professional for FrameMaker. There are some problems with the Turkish version of our online help: The Turkish special characters (for example the dotless i) aren´t displayed correctly in the navigation panes TOC and index. They are replaced by other characters (for example by a "y")
    Has anyone an idea how to solve this problem?
    Thank you very much.
    Kind regards,
    Miriam Rassenhofer

    Miriam,
    What encoding are the TOC and index XML files being generated in? You should use UTF-8 for the minimum of problems. I presume WebWorks has an option for this. Other than that, make sure the top of those XML files has the proper XML declaration with the encoding:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>You may want to try opening the XML files in an XML-aware text editor to ensure they look right there (JDeveloper is one such editor).
    If all of that is working, post back and we can talk offline about getting a snippet of one of those XML files for us to look at.

  • There is a problem with the photo with the filename "null". The full resolution version of this photo either cannot be located or is corrupt. Please replace this photo or delete it from your book.

    Absolutely INFURIATING.
    I have spent absolute hours building a photo album for the first year or my sons life. Sorting through quite literally thousands and thousands of images. Got a brilliant looking album using 177 of them.
    Now everytime I try to check out it won't get past page 1 of building the book.
    It says the following "There is a problem with the photo with the filename "null". The full resolution version of this photo either cannot be located or is corrupt. Please replace this photo or delete it from your book.".
    The images all look perfect. I have even tried taking them out and re adding the first page images from the library.
    Same problem.
    This is so annoying. So far I have NOT been happy with this iphoto application having nothing but problems with missing thumbnails. Corrupted images. Things that have never happened to me using a windows machine.

    Do the filenames contain special characters, like "ä,ü,..." or white space or are the vry long? Is there anything special about the image format? Try to export the edited versions in that case and reimport it with a different, shorter filename.
    For testing, create a new book with only the images you want to check.
    If this does not fix it, try rebuilding. Depress the option and command keys, launch iPhoto and rebuild the library.

  • Mysql problem with german special characters

    hi,
    I wrote a software and it worked quite good, but after I installed it on a new machine with j2se 1.4 I've problems with the german special characters.
    this code works good on the old machine (jdk 1.3.1) and prints the wanted characters like ,,.
    Class.forName("org.gjt.mm.mysql.Driver").newInstance();
    java.sql.Connection conn;
    conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://localhost/testdb?user=testuser&password=xxxx");
    Statement s = conn.createStatement();
    ResultSet r = s.executeQuery("select something from testtb where id='1'");
    r.first();
    System.out.println( r.getString(1) );
    but on the new machine (j2se 1.4) I only receive the character ?.
    I updated my org.gjt.mm.mysql to the current MySQL Connector/J 3.0.9 and added
    conn = DriverManager.getConnection("jdbc:mysql://localhost/testdb?user=testuser&password=xxxx&useUnicode=true&characterEncoding=ISO-8859-1");
    but I've got still the same problem.
    Thanks in advance

  • Problem with Icelandic special characters on Mac

    Hello
    I am working on a Flash publication for students, and I want it to run on Mac as well as PC. Everything goes fine, except a problem with three special characters in my language, Icelandic. I am working on a registration and login page where I am using text boxes and text input boxes. Everything looks correct on PC, but on Mac the characters Þ Ð Ý are lost.
    I have tried different fonts etc.
    Any idea what is wrong?
    Jónas Helgason

    Hello Jónas,
    Did you ever figure this out ?
    I have a similar problem except only with two letters (both upper and lower case).  These two Icelandic letters can't be entered into a Flex TextInput box in the Flex apps I am creating when they are loaded on a Mac.  The letters are known as &Eth, &eth, &Thorn and &thorn in HTML terminology.  Typing these characters on the keyboard results in the following:  { [ ? /
    However I can copy the characters in question from some other app like TextEdit and paste them into a TextInput box in my Flex app and all is well, they show up correctly.
    This happens regardless of the Mac browser used and the Flash plugin version used (have tried both 9 and 10) and also happens in the standalone Flash Player application.
    Does anyone have any idea how to fix this or is this a bug in Flash Player ?  This is really annoying as it makes text input into Flex apps on Icelandic Macs very difficult.
    There must be something wrong with the mapping of keyboard key codes into character codes on the Mac that is causing this.
    Btw, I just heard from a friend that this problem does not exist in MacOS 10.6.  I am running 10.4 and have tested this on 10.5 and it exists on both of those OS versions.

  • Problems with the function RFC_GET_TABLE_ENTRIES

    Hi experts,
           We have a external application named P-Synch that is used when a user needs to change or unlock their password on our SAP system. The problem we are presenting is that in our PBP system the application is working fine but in our BW and XI environment when the P-Synch application call the function RFC_GET_TABLE_ENTRIES in SAP it can't take the result of the field 'expiration_date' because for some reason the output for this field is not in the same position that is in the PBP system.
    Example:
    This are the output that we receive in the environments with the function RFC_GET_TABLE_ENTRIES :
    PBP:
    000001ú320020401*99991231*AESSUSER
    BWP:
    0000200408039999*1231AESS*USER
    As you see in PBP P-Synch can take the expiration date (in bold) in the correct position '99991231'.... but for some reason in BWP the function present the expiration date in the incorrect position '1231AESS', for that reason the P-Synch application can't change or unlock the user of a person because terminate with error with the expiration date.
    Exist a way that I can fix this?
    Thanks a lot!

    Hello Carlos,
    Few days back i also faced some problem with the RFC_GET_TABLE_ENTRIES.
    May be you can try with RFC_READ_TABLE instead. Not much difference in the way you call the 2 FMs. From my experience i can tell, RFC_GET_TABLE_ENTRIES returns some garbage characters which RFC_READ_TABLE does not.
    For details refer to this [link|RFC_READ_TABLE v/s RFC_GET_TABLE_ENTRIES;.

    Hi, After I installed Mac Lion, I have problem with the tamil font while typing in Neo Office. Especially with the letters "e-Ex: தெ" and "ai-Ex:தை". Please help me I know its not bug from Apple It shd be some problem in neo.

    Is your problem due to the keyboard or to NeoOffice Characters? You have to change probably the font. Not all fonts are supporting all Unicode sets. Which font you have in your NeoOffice set to write Tamil? Try with Arial Unicode MS for example.
    Are the letter e-Ex and ai-Ex right in your posting? If they are right, how you inserted these letters in your posting? By copy and paste or by typing? If by typing, your question is related to NeoOffice. Probably you should reinstall or update NeoOffice? Or switch to OpenOffice?
