Problem with  WebLgoic running as a Windows Service

If you know the answer, plase send me an email at [email protected]
I'm running a weblogic startup class that starts a Thread. I need to
run a batch program that should be running as long as WebLogic is
running (to process new orders).
It works fine when I run WebLogic (5.1 SP8) from a script, but causes
problem when I'm running it as a Windows Service. It calls the
startup class, however, the startup class never spawns the Thread
class.
Following is excerpts from different components:
=============================================================
*** weblogic.properties ***
weblogic.system.startupClass.pdfCreatorStart=WebLogicStartupPdfCreator
*** WebLogicStartupPdfCreator.java ***
public class WebLogicStartupPdfCreator implements T3StartupDef {
public String startup(String name, Hashtable args) throws
Exception {
Thread t = new ProductionPdfBatchRunner();
t.start();
return "success";
*** ProductionPdfBatchRunner.java ***
public class ProductionPdfBatchRunner extends Thread {
public void run() {
try {
//work being done here
this.sleep(30000);
catch (InterruptedException ie) {
catch(Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();

Thanks for any help

Hi.
You can add extra path information by using the -extrapath option in your
installNTservice.cmd script.

When I installed a weblogic server as a windows service using installNTservice.cmd,
I found that the system path was not appended to the java.library.path. Here is
the detail:
step 1: went to ...\config\mydomain, run installNTservice.cmd, and the weblogic
server "myServer" was installed as a NT service.
step 2: went to Control Panel -> administrative tools -> services and started
up the service "myserver".
step 3: went to ...\config\mydomain\logs, open Weblogic.log and found that:
java.library.path = C:\bea\wlserver6.0\bin;.;C:\WINNT\System32;C:\WINNT
usually java.library.path should be the above paths plus the system path(which
can be changed in control panel -> system ->advanced -> environment variables
Does any one know why?--

  • How do you create a program in Labview that can be run as a Windows Service?

    I would like to create a Labview program that can be run as a Windows service.  I have read the following Knowlegebase articles and have done what they say.
    Creating a Windows NT Service Using LabVIEW http://www.ni.com/white-paper/3185/en
    Running a LabVIEW Application as a Windows NT/2000/XP/Server 2008/7  User-Defined Service http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/21BA0F671A63A60386256CB4004DF99B
    When trying to start the service I get an error that says the program didn't respond to the start in a timely manner.  I also set the "run when opened" parameter in the VI.  I am programming in Labivew 2010, proffesional version.  The server is running Windows Server 2008.  Can anyone help?  Is the ini file important in Windows Server 2008?

    I haven't looked through all those links.  But I have created Windows Services from LabVIEW executables way back when WinXP came on the market.
    The problem with services is that they have no UI.  So you can't really see what is going on.  Your EXE might be failing or hanging due to some kind of error (most liklely a security/permissions error), but you can't see the error.  So my advice is to either:
    1.  Have your EXE write lots of info to a log file.  Write info that log every step in the application.  If an error ocurrs, have it write the error info to the log file.  That is a very useful debugging tool.
    2.  Use VI Server functions to monitor the service to see what is going on.

  • Recommendations for configuring DSEE 6.3.1 to run as a Windows service?

    Hi All, I need some recommendations for configuring DSEE to run as a Windows service. Currently I have CACAO, DSCC, and the Web Console configured and running as Windows services and this works fine. I would like to configure the directory itself to run as a Windows service so that it will restart automatically if the server reboots for any reason. Using dsadm enable-service --type WIN_SERVICE I configured this but initial testing indicated that the service will fail to start automatically on reboot. I can start it manually once the server is rebooted. This appears to indicate a dependancy of some sort with one of the other services like CACAO or DSCC but I did not see any documentation on this. Does anyone know the appropriate way to configure the directory to run as a Windows service? Thanks.

  • Problem with tv@nywhere plus on windows 8

    hi
    i have a problem with tv@anywhere plus on windows 8. i can setup the pvr plus app completely but when i open that and click on "watch and record dtv program" icon, i will see an error that says: "invalid class string!"
    i think this problem should be for its driver because i'm using windows 8 64bit and the driver is for windows 7, i couldn't find an appropriate driver for windows 8 on MSI driver downloads, as matter of fact it didn't exist.
    so what should i do for my problem?

    I'm afraid TV@nywhere Plus is a bit outdated for Win8. There is no update so far since 2010. Could be MSI won't add Win8 support if it would be anyway possible.

  • Problems with a non-BT product or service

    I have just contacted BT as my down IP Profile has become 30% less than it should be over an approximately 6 month period.  This is despite the fact that my line is surprising stable with an average up time of around 14 days and the main disconnection being  BT induced profile resets.
    I have had this issue three times before. The solution is 1 to 3 Openreach Engineer visits that find no fault and end up with a line reset to up the profile.
    This time the Indian call centre rang me, tested the line and found no fault  (as expected). They said because of this they could not do anything and suggested I contacted second line support.
    I then received  the following email
    "Problems with a non-BT product or service
    Hi,
    You recently contacted us regarding a non-BT product or service. We confirmed that your BT Broadband service and equipment were working ok but we were unable to help you with your product/service as it's non-BT.
    We recommend that you check your user guide or contact your manufacturer regarding the product/service. Before you do that, check out these links below as they may help you further.
    Happy to pay for technical support from BT?
    BT has a team of technical experts. For a monthly fee they can help you with a range of problems. Go to www.bt.com/techexperts to find out more and sign up.
    I am using a BT supplied OpenReach modem and HomeHub 4 A so other than devices connected to the HH4 all kit is BT supplied.
    Can I have some (preferably Moderator) help on this please ?

    I am pleased to say that thanks to moderator intervention I was contacted by Kevin who arranged for an OR Engineer visit.
    As expected no fault was found and after a line reset to restore my profile to what it should be (actually slightly better) my 30% drop was corrected.
    It is fairly clear that if you have FTTC and a connection to the cabinet of 1200-1400metres then the DLM is happy to reduce your line speed but reluctant (if at all)  to increase it. This means your profile decreases over time and has to have a manual reset.
    The worrying development this time is that now when the helpdesk tests your line and finds line speed and profile match they assume you have  a problem with a non-BT product or service where as previously they accepted that a 30% drop in profile was a BT Fault.

    I guess I should have asked for the "definitive" fix. I read several "fixes" but it seems no one knows if Apple has a definitive fix. Kind of like going into an Apple store and getting three different answers from three different reps. At least they are not rude and no, I don't have a problem searching the forum.

  • Run .jar as window services.

    Hi,
    I?ve tried running .jar using batch file in window scheduler. The program will auto end if we logoff from the OS(window server 2003).
    How can we run .jar as window services, beside using Java wrapper?
    Most window wrapper need license to execute. I will like to deploy this .jar as window services in our customer side.

    You have to chose the option while creating the task as "When my computer starts", this will work as soon system boots up and until the task is explicity stopped later. This works independent of user logging into the computer; as soon the machine boots up to windows.
    If you choose "When I login" during task scheduling, the task becomes active as log as you have logged on to that desktop.
    Hope this helps.

    Hi all
    Problem with the 9.1 version of itunes. I download the update and everything went ok and till i reboot the pc and gave me this messages. "Apple sync notifier "The program can't start corefundation.dll missing from this computer".
    Trying to fix the problem i uninstall itunes, Quick, apple application device, apple mobile device, and software update and reboot the pc and reinstall everything. This time everything went right and no more message but now if i click to open itunes it not runs and safari is making my computer slow and it freeze for seconds.
    Any idea what could be my problem?

    Same problem here. Running the iTunes network diagnostic doesn't enlighten me: it tells me that connectivity to the iTunes store is fine. My firewall tells me that when iTunes starts it attempts to connect to "http://wpad/wpad.dat" which of course fails because the unqualified domain name gets my local domain added to it (and I don't have a host called ipad on my network).

  • Problem with OEM backing up on windows system.

    Hi to all,
    I have a problem with backing up with a specific user.
    I am currently running various "test" db's and am planning to back them up.
    The Setup:
    Host OS is windows 2003 server s2
    Grid control 10.2.0.1
    Database 10.2.0.2
    Target Db is running on a windows 2003 server
    The Situation:
    From grid control I locate the db in question and go to the maintenance page and the backup settings. First of all I want to test the backup using the tab. Before this of course I enter the Host OS credentials into the system, let’s say "jamie", and add the appropriate password. By this point I have made sure that the user "jamie" is in the local security policy setting "log on as batch job" and that is in the group ora_dba (This is on both the machine I am backing up from and the target db machine.). For security reasons I have limited the share folder location to the user "jamie", making sure that sharing and security has the appropriate privileges to access the share.
    I run a test backup using the tab within backup settings and await the results. The results come back unsuccessful. Reading through the log I see that the path to backup share is denied.
    So to further the test I change the privileges within the share to "everyone" and that is for both sharing and security, just to see whether or not it’s the path itself rather than restrictions to the user. It is then a success. I checked to see who actually owned the file that was used within the test. It belonged to the local system on the target db, not to the user that I had specified within "Host OS Credentials".
    Can anyone explain to me why and what is the reason behind putting in Host OS Credentials when the agent that is committing the back up is using the local domain system user account. I am aware that the Agent is part of a service within windows and belongs to the local domain. Ergo, why have host credentials.
    And can anyone help me out with getting round this predicament if I still want security within the systems. I can’t just leave access to the share under "everyone", that'd be a really big hole in the system?!
    Any help at all will be gratefully received.
    If you’ve got any questions to help me solve the problem, please fire away.

    Hi,
    If memory serves, Outlook XP offered the ability to set what address-book connectors were installed, one of which was LDAP (by default enabled). It may be a similar situation with Outlook 2003 (which I assume you are using based on the version number in the debug logs). Try using the Office '03 install CD and see if you can find the LDAP addressbook option and install it.
    Regards,
    Shane.
