Problems accessing Dreamweaver CS6 help in English

When I install Dreamweaver CS6, the language option shows "English" followed by hebrew script or "English" followed by arabic script.   There are no other English options.  When I have tried to access adobe help pages directly from DW CS6, the help pages are in these scripts, not the standard script (as the one I am writing in).  In fact, the only language options available are languages from southern Europe or NE Africa/Middle East.
I am wondering if this is because I purchased the software from an online retailer called newoemsoftware.com.  There was nothing on their web pages stating anything "unusual" about the software for US markets, but it was greatly discounted over the usual price.
How can I remedy this so I can access adobe help pages directly from the DW CS6 startup page in English?

  • Using hyperlinks in Dreamweaver (Was: Dreamweaver Cs6 Help?)

Ok, well I'm using Dreamweaver Cs6 and came across a few obstacles I was hoping to get help with. One of them is the hyperlinks, I am building an antique based website and cannot figure out how to add multiple links so all pages are linked to the other like, home to porcelain, then if I then decided to choose glass while I'm on porcelain, I could click glass from there. Its hard to explain but hopefully someone understands what I mean. Second would be adding the Spry Menu Bar. I figured out how to write and code it yesterday and it worked fine, but when I went to go add the Spry Menu Bar code to my other pages it showed it as a vertical bar with bullets. Any help would be great for I am on a tight schedule. If its easy to explain on skype or something let me know and I'll post it. I just really need this help

Safest way to link is to construct your destination page first and then click on the source link and then let DW code the link to the target page for you
Finished code would look like this if you named your pages as I have
    <li><a href="german.htm">German</a></li>
          <li><a href="chinese.htm">Chinese</a></li>
          <li><a href="english.htm">English</a></li>
Sorry I don't have your DW version but here's a video

  • Need Dreamweaver CS6 Help (was: Dreamweaver CS6)

everytime I seek help with dreamweaver CS6 it gives me Dreamweaver CC info. How can I get informations and answers on CS6 only?

    Hi Eric,
From what I understand, we are not going to have version based documentation any more. The What's New documentation will cover topics that have changed in a particular version.

  • Image problem in Dreamweaver Please Help!

I have attached an image in dreamweaver and it looks fine when I preview it in the browser but when it put it on the hosting site it is not there. What should I do?

Hi all, i've being talking with Murray regarding an issue that I am having on posting images online with Dreamweaver (please find below), if anyone can help please write.
Murray in answering your question: Yes all images are RGB. let me know if there is anyother thing that I should check.
    Thanks,
    Gabriel
Just duplicate the information in a new thread on the public Dreamweaver General Discussion forum.
Also, are your images RGB or CMYK?  If the latter then they won't show on the web.  They must be in RGB color space to show....
    Murray
    Hi Murray,
Thanks  for answering. Yes I have no problem on posting it to the public, it is  just that I've being posting this problem in other forums and not  getting any answer so I thought that sending a private message could be  more efficient. How should I redirect my question to the public forum?  just copy my question and post as a new threat?
Regarding  my problem I am apparantly doing everything correct. I first created an  image folder on my local "website" folder and I put all images there  (lower case, single word, jpags and gif). So I went to  Insert->Rollover Image and place the images. Then I saved the  document and locally tested (pressing F12) and everything was working  great. Next I select the document and Site->Put. I reloaded my IE and  the images didn't show up. I went back to dreamweaver and manually  selected each image that I insert and one by one I upload to the  website. I checked the remote server and they are all there on the  correct location, but they still dono't appear on my website.
I  am researching this problem for more than 5 days and I am really  considring to built my website with other tool (rather than Dreamweaver)  as I just can't figure it out why in earth these images don't display).
    Thanks,
    gabriel
Gabriel,  do you feel comfortable posting this to the public forum?  That's the  right way to use it.  Let everyone try to help you.  When you post  there, please be sure to give enough information for someone to try to  answer.  If a process is failing for you, describe each step in the  process with enough detail to allow someone to recreate that process.
Looking  at the code on your projects page I can only think that your images are  not being uploaded to the correct location.  Do you SEE those images on  the remote site?
Anyhow, you can add the answer to this to your post on the public forum....
    Murray
Hi  Murray, I found you in some forums re: Dreamweaver, I hope you can help  me. I am trying desperately for the last 6 days upload images on my  website. I have checked the sources/paths 1000 times and everything  match, I really don't know why I can't see a single image online. The  website is www.gabriel.kochece.com, if you go to projects all these  links are suppose to be images...
    Thanks in advance,
    gabriel

  • Dreamweaver CS6 help

    Hello,
I am fairly new to web development and Dreamweaver in general.  I am attempting to edit a site created in PHP with a connected MySQL database.  I really need some help getting connected to the site so that I can actually do some editing.
I open Dreamweaver, but I cannot just connect to the site, it says that I have to create a new site?  I am a little confused about the whole process.  Any Help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

To work with dynamic sites (MySql and .php),  you must  set-up a PHP work environment with a local testing server -- either Wamp, Xampp or Mamp.  And then define your site & local testing server in DW.  See links below for details.
    WAMP for Windows http://www.wampserver.com/en/

It is if i contect with the database of dreamweaver. Maybe if i install dreamweaver again. First uninstall the problem is gone. I don't know what i must do. What must i take a way. Yesterday and the days there before, everything all fine. And know this. It is a real database and javascript errors within dreamweaver. That connect with each orther.
Because on mac os mountain lion and don't do mysql, that i do on windows.
If i know, what i must change, but i don't understand it, because the lines are different, then the page you give the link from. Maybe you know.
Some points i tried. But i cannot find applicationSupport/Adobe/Dreamweaver. It just isn't on that place.
So i don't know where that folder is.
I have install dreamweaver again. And the problem is gone. Hopefully for long.

  • Creative Cloud pops up with trail will expire in 0 days when I run Dreamweaver CS6

When I click on the icon for Dreamweaver CS6 a panel for Dreamweaver CC pops up with the message “Your trial will expire in 0 days”  “00 days remaining.  It offers “Buy Now” and “Continue Trial”. When I click the red x to close out I am returned to Dreamweaver CS6.
I reinstalled Dreamweaver CS6 but the problem persists.  I do not want Dreamweaver CDC.
I tried to follow the instructions In http://helpx.adobe.com/dreative-suite ... "Creative Cloud Help/Creative Cloud applications unexpectedly revert to trial mode | CS6, CC ..."  but I lost the thread.
I am at a loss at to what to do now.  Please help.

Here are two additional items that may be helpful:
    1.    I reported that Under Step 3 “Check Your Host Files – Still Have Problems?  Reset Host Files” I did not find entries that reference activate.adobe.com.  On further checking I found the Notepad file.  It contained the following information:
Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
    For example:
        102.54.94.97    rhino.acme.com          # source server
          38.25.63.10    x.acme.com              # x client host
localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
            127.0.0.1      localhost
            ::1            localhost
    2.    On Saturday, 23 August 2014 I received an e-mail from Adobe Creative Cloud [email protected] that said
Welcome. We’re glad you’ve joined us.
Thanks for joining Creative Cloud. We thought we’d send along a few ideas to help you get started.
    * Get 30-day trials of all-new versions of creative desktop apps that make everyday tasks easier and faster while delivering new support for cutting-edge hardware and standards.
    * Easily upload and share your files, or post your work to the Behance community of creative professionals to get feedback, find inspiration, and connect with new opportunities.
    * Express your creativity on-the-go using our new and improved range of mobile apps.
    Get started
    Make something great,
    The Creative Cloud Team
This is odd.  What made them think I joined Creative Cloud? The Creative Cloud program is not installed on the computer and I have not downloaded Creative Cloud trial version or a paid version.
GOAL: My goal is to eliminate the CC pop up that occurs every time I access Dreamweaver CS6. I am satisfied with Dreamweaver CS6.  I do not want to lose the CS6 capability.  I do not want Creative Cloud trial version or the paid version.
So far I have been unable to remove the pop up and I can’t find a way to phone or e-mail Adobe Technical Support.  When I received the CC Welcome message, I considered the following approach:
    1.    Accept the invitation to Get Started and install the 30-day trial version
    2.    Use the CC Cleaner Tool to uninstall Creative Cloud.
This approach might work.  It is equally possible it would further complicate the problem.
Should I accept the CC invitation to Get Started with CC and then use CC Cleaner to uninstall the Creative Cloud program?  Is there an alternative approach that will work?
    Thank you.

  • Dreamweaver CS6 setup problems

I recently upgraded from CS3 to CS6 and are having some minor issues with setting up a site as well as with certain views.
Site Setup: (first I will explain how I use DW)
I keep all of my customer and my own company sites on an external USB drive in folders named [#Customer sites] and [#Company Sites] respectively. The naming convention is really there just to keep these at the top of the directory listing as access them frequently (the # symbol has never caused any issues with CS3 or previous versions by the way).   I do not ever connect to a remote server nor use any of the built in FTP features in DW as I find they too easily corrupt live websites with the check in/check out feature.  So, each website runs 100% on my local computer (with connections to remote DB servers if necessary).  I have Win7 Ultimate with IIS installed and running and localhost brings me to the IIS7 page as expected (so we can dispel any issues with IIS).  I always set up my testing server to be Local/Network and preview in browser has always worked in the past with no issues.  AS far as moving content to the live servers, I have and always will use a separate FTP client for that (never let DW anywhere near FTP)
    1) The first thing I noticed after setting up a site is that moving files around (images, CSS, js files), DW will not update any of the links in base files like contact, index, etc.  I have removed, re-setup over and over and still no luck here.  I do get the prompt to update but it only ask to update links in [ / ] with no file names.  This is one of the primary reasons I use DW is that I can update links throughout an entire site but CS6 is not working for me here.
    2) Next thing I noticed is that for whatever reason I cannot get 'Live' view to work on even the simplest of web pages.  I get a message that states:  "Dreamweaver could load the file "M:\". The system reported the error: M:\ contains an incorrect path..".   Again, I have re-checked the setup, the paths in the site definition and all are pointed to the correct location.
I built a simple Fluid Grid page to test feature... here are the relevant site definition settings:
    Site name:  FluidTest
    Local Site Folder:  M:\#COMPANY SITES\FluidTest\
    Server name: Local
    Connect using:  Local/Network
    Server Folder:  M:\#COMPANY SITES\FluidTest
    Web URL: http://localhost/fluidtest
Note that I was able to get the Preview in a Browser feature to work once I created a virtual directory under the 'Default Web Site' in IIS but cannot get this to work when I just create it as a new website.  Seems localhost only wants to run under the Default website.   Thought about manually turning sites on and off in IIS but should not need to do this with Win7 as IIS is supposed to be able to handle multiple websites.  I will likely figure out a work around this annoyance.... just though I would mention it as it is somewhat in context.
    Fluid Grid Layout annoyance:
I am sure I am missing a setting somewhere but after creating my simple FluidTest website, I cannot see the Pink Columns in the Grid layout.  After uninstalling CS6, removing all traces of Adobe, and re-installing CS6 I still have this issue.  I have enable all the Visual Aid settings [ View --> Visual Aids ] and still the Pink Column grid is not visible in any of the layouts for mobile, tablet, or Desktop.  Anyone with a solution, please enlighten me.

I know you've used it in the past, but that # symbol is pretty suspicious to me.
Generally speaking DW, and the internet, hate special characters in file paths. Have you tried without it yet?
If you have, and it still doesn't work, I'd reinstall using the Cleaner Tool...
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
Adobe can be contacted here: Contact Customer Care
Depending on the time of day, and availability, you may or may not get a Chat feature after narrowing down your question's category and clicking on the blue "Still Need Help" button. You should see a location specific phone number no matter what, once you've gotten to the big blue button mentioned above.

  • CS6 Help system problems

I have just downloaded and installed CS6 Master Collection and I have noticed that the help system in virtually all of the component programs does not operate either online or offline. Program by Program here are the results I received when attempting to launch "Help":
Adobe After Effects - no response at all
Adobe Audition - "Unable to display help for this topic - Error (10)"
Adobe Bridge - no response at all
Adobe Dreamweaver - "The help system cannot be launched because the help folder is missing. Reinstall Dreamweaver"
Adobe Encore - no response at all
Adobe Extension Manager - no response at all
Adobe Fireworks - no response at all
Adobe Flash Builder - Help Contents works however Flash Builder Help produces no response
Adobe Flash - no response at all
Adobe Illustrator - To access online help of to download help contents you need to be connected to the internet!
Adobe InDesign - Adobe Help Viewer is not installed and you are not connected to the internet. Re-Install!
Adobe Media Encoder - Adobe Help Client failed to launch
Adobe Photoshop - help could not be displayed because you are not connected to the internet
Adobe Prelude - no response at all
Adobe Premier Pro - no response at all
Adobe Speedgrade - No Help option is apparent
Needless to say - for all those warnings about not being connected to the internet - that I was connected!
Notes: I was running Comodo internet security so I uninstalled Comodo and CS6 and reinstalled the latter suite again without any security software in place whatsoever ... I got the same results as above both times.
I note several other posts on the internet about this same issue - all without resolution so far. Forgive me for being blunt but I would have thought that getting a help system in place and operating properly was critical for most users who will be unfamiliar with a new layout and interface or does Adobe just expect we are all going to rush out to purchase expensive instruction manuals?

Er ... surely there is a more appropriate answer than "the help client sucks" or doesn't anybody care that Adobe seem to be selling defective software at very high prices?
WRT PDF's - I would love to download these if only I could find out where to download them. Does anybody have a URL where these beasts may be found?

  • "Help" error 404 in Dreamweaver CS6

I have just purchased Dreamweaver CS6 after more than twelve years of web-site development using NetObjects Fusion and hand-coding.
Conscious of the step-up in possibilities offered by CS6, I am keen to learn as I go (un-learning my existing bad habits too).
Sadly, at the first hurdle, I tried to click on "Help" on the first page and had Error 404 returned.
I have been looking at the excellent tutorials, but thought all the promises of seamless integration would not trip up so soon.
My default browser is Firefox - is that the problem?  I don't trust IE which keeps falling over.
Any help would be happily received!
    NigelHS

    Hi Nigel,
    Welcome to the Dreamweaver forum.
Having used NOF for several years, I know what you're going through.
First, define your local site folder.  Go to Site > New Site.  Tell DW where to find  the folder containing all your site files.  This is an important 1st step, otherwise DW cannot properly manage links and assets for you.  See screenshots.
You will probably want to define your remote server settings too, but you don't need to do that to work on local files.
Root directory is where your hosting provider told you to put your files.  This varies by host.  The directory could be public_html, www or htdocs.  Some hosts don't use a directory in which case you should leave this field blank.
Run a Test.  If you can't connect, click on More Options:
Chances are you will need to re-build your site with CSS layouts and cleaner HTML code.  Initially, I used Find & Replace to strip out all the old NOF proprietary tags, inline font styles, tables, etc...  It's a tedious task but well worth it in the long run.
Finally, validate your code with the W3C validation tools and fix all reported errors.
         Code validation tools:
              CSS - http://jigsaw.w3.org/css-validator/
              HTML - http://validator.w3.org/
    Have fun!

  • Problem uploading templates with liquid layouts and dreamweaver cs6

    Hi
I have developed some templates in Dreamweaver CS6 and Liquid Layouts
However when I want to preview them in a browser, they come out blank (No Data at all)
I have tried this without Liquid and works fine, minor bugs that can be fixed like background image not visible
It seems the problem its at the BC system
Will appreciate help on this matter
    Thanks

You should not be using Liquid in product sites, especially in templates since the whole liquid code breaks and does not render in several places.
DW has no features to support liquid rendering either yet.
It is something that is in Alpha.
