Problems accessing Server

Hi,
We recently had our test server (testdb.xxx.xxx.xx) (Linux Tikanga) restarted, after which I am unable to access any of the Hyperion web-based applications on the server (Planning, Workspace, Shared Services etc.). Everything was working fine before the server was restarted.
For example, I would access workspace using the URL http://testdb.xxx.xxx.xx:19000/workspace/index.jsp. It throws up the following error now.
Initialization Error.
The system is not available due to initialization errors.
Detailed error messages:
+Error initializing the registry connection: java.sql.SQLException: [Hyperion][Oracle JDBC Driver]Error establishing socket to host and port: testdb.xxx.xxx.xx:1521.+
Reason: Connection refused
Contact your system administrator.
I am also not able to start the Essbase server. It gives the following error.
+Network Error [10060]: Unable to connect to [testdb.xxx.xxx.xx:1423]+
The client timed out waiting to connect to Essbase Agent using TCP/IP. Check your network connections. Also make sure the server and port values are correct.
Any suggestions on what needs to be done?

Once the system is restarted, start the services in the reverse order of above.
It depends on version for start order, if it is before 11.1.2 then yes the order is more important, from 11.1.2 the order is less important though the database does have to be running.
From the error message it does sound like an issue with communication with the Oracle db.

Problem Accessing Server

I recently switched to MAC from a PC and am pretty pleased but I cant figure out house to access my company server from my new mac. On a PC it can be accessed by going to start run and entering the name of the server. For me that is \\mserver\\. I tried connecting to the server on my mac by going to the "go" tab on the finder and selecting "Connect To Server." Whenever I enter in "mserver" or "\\mserver\\" to the server address area and click connect an error message comes up "Connection Failed; server may not exist..." Anyone know what I might be doing wrong or how to connect to a server through macs?

Firstly you need to make sure you are in the correct Windows Workgroup. You can check/change it in the Directory Access utility (Applications > Utilities) under the SMB/CIFS settings.
Once you confirm/set that if you now go to "Connect to Server…" you need to insert the Windows server address as…
smb://WINDOWS-SERVER-NAME/
… and then you should be asked to Authenticate.

Yes. I had an iPhone 3G and when upgraded to 6.1 the bluetooth connectivity failed progressively and eventually the phone just wouldn't connect. I broke and reestablished the pairing am few times and each time it would work for a while then disconnect to the extent I thought the bluetooth hardware in the car was failing. I then got an iPhone 5 and the same issue remained. In the last few days I've paired an old Blackberry with the car kit to rule out the BMW hardware. Blackberry is fine so it has to be iOS incompatibility.

Problem accessing Sql server Procedure from Crystal with JDBC driver

I have some Crystal reports using SQL Server procedures, most of them are working very well; however, I have 2 that have problems accessing sql server procedures. These reports are working using OLE DB connection without problem, but when I try to relocate the connection to JDBC Crystal generates an error like that the procedure not return records.
The procedure is working with other products including OLE DB connections from crystal.
What can I do?

I have discovered that the procedures create and work temporary tables. In other cases when is working ok, the procedures have not working temporary tables.

Problem with Cisco Secure Access Server 3.0

Hi All,
Please what is my problem? I use Cisco Secure Access Server Version 3.0 for Windows 2000/NT Servers to authenticate users on our wireless network. I however wish to assign monthly time limits to each user after which he/she will no longer have access until next month or the timer is reset. I tried this with the "User Usage Quota" under User setup. I set the Server to "Limit user to X hours of online time per Month" and enabled the "Use these settings" and also checked the box by the side of the option. I saved and restarted my server. Unfortunetly the settings did not work for all the users whose quotas I set.
What Am I doing wrong. Please assist.

Do you have your AP's sending accounting data? If not, ACS has no way of knowing how long they've been online?
You can utilize your ACS logging to see what your accounting looks like to confirm whether you are receiving accounting packets or not?

Adobe Access Server for Protected Streaming Configuration Problem

I cannot get the Adobe Access Server for Protected Streaming sample implementation up and running. Could somebody help me figure out where I'm going wrong?
I've configured the license server with the correct PFX files and when I run the validation tool, I get the following output. This is a clean install with only the license server configuration (the content server is a separate machine). I also get a similar error in the tomcat logs when I try to access a piece of content licensed to this server.

I found the problem.
Certificates/KeyServer/File[@path] needs to be set your license file, but it must be in the ".cer" format. The server won't start without this fileand it was not mentioned anywhere in the quick start guide but is mentioned in the protected streaming document.

Routing Issue between router and Access Server

We have a Lucent MAX TNT access server, having TAOS version 9.0.9. I
have configured
the default route so that all dialup user traffic is diverted towards
cisco 2611 series router but this
only happens with the IP subnets configured on MAX TNT and cisco router
ethernet interfaces.
We need a solution in which dailup users on MAX TNT with IPs from any network can
be routed towards the cisco router in order to reach the internet cloud accross the Router.

Your message states that you have configured the access server with a default route pointing to the 2611 router. But it does not say whether you have configured a route on the 2611 pointing to the access server for the address range used by the dial pool which the access server uses to assign addresses to dial up users. I suspect this is your problem. I believe that the 2611 needs a route to that address space and that the 2611 needs to advertise that address range if there are any other routers in your network.

How do I change the URL to the Remote Web Access server in Windows Server 2012?

I have set up a Remote Dexktop Service using the "Quick" deployment method in Server Manager and everything is working greate internally, but I cannot start an app published in Remote Web Access from outside our network.
The problem is that it wants to start the using the internal URL, for example, server.domain.local, instead of the external one, for example remote.server.com.
I therefore want to know how I can change the default URL for the Remote Web Access server and all the Remote Web Apps in Windows Server 2012?
I have allready looked in Server Manager and I can change some of the deployment settings in server manager, but there is no way to alter the URL of the Remote Web Access server. See below images:
Pressing the internal URL only results in opening the internal URL.
This was very simple to do in Windows Server 2008 R2 using the tsconfig tool, but it does not seam to be any way of solving this in server manager.
A possible sollution would be to alter the registry someware in HKLM->Software->Microsoft->Windows NT->Terminal Services. But this can easaly lead to problems due to wrong format, etc. and is probably not supported.
Is there a simpler and supported way?

That option can be used to connect to any machine that you want. The error message indicates that the client machine cannot resolve the name "server.domain.local" to an IP address that it can connect to.
You have several options for configuring that tab on the RDweb site. You can even remove it entirely.

Clean Access Server could not establish a secure connection

I have a OOB Real IP GW setup on v4.1.2
I seem to have a problem with the CAS connecting to the CAM although I have added the CAS to the CAM and can manage the CAS from the CAM.
I noticed while troubleshooting client authentication that the client was not being redirected to the logon web page and it had full access to the trusted network from the untrusted authentication vlan. I eventually figured out that if I change the CAS Filter Fallback method from Allow to ignore then it tries to authenticate the client. However the fact that the fallback is activated tells you that something is not right.
I have 2 problems:
A) The clients web page is redirected for authentication but it only lists the domain name in the URL and not the hostname or host IP. In the lab I do not have a DNS server and it would not help as it does not include the hostname in the URL anyway. How do I fix this or perhaps it's related to the 2nd problem.
B) When I manually change the URL by replacing the domain name with the IP of the CAS (untrusted OOB Real IP GW) then I get the following error message when logging on:
Network Error:
Clean Access Server could not establish a secure connection to Clean Access Manager at mydomain.com.
This could be due to one or more of the following reasons: 1) Clean Access Manager certificate has expired 2) Clean Access Manager certificate cannot be trusted or 3) Clean Access Manager cannot be reached.
Please report this to your network administrator.
I would guess the culprit is No 2 but surely the system can run on self signed certificates? I have an NTP server so time is in sync. I have even tried regenerating the cetificates on the CAM
& CAS.
Any ideas?

To overcome problem B, I regenerated the SSL Certificates using the host IP address instead of the name for all the CAM & CAS appliances. This seems to have resolved this problem.
I also SSH'd from each of the CAS's to each of the CAM's from the CLI and it then prompts to permanently store the certificates. I'm not sure it this was necessary though.

Static NAT causes unable to access server via internal IP

Need some help. I running site-to-site IPsec VPN in Cisco 2811 IOS 12.4 both site. Here I encounter a problem to access server on Site A from Site B
Site A having Leased Line connected to router with Public IP. I have done static mapping 1 web server to Public IP (NAT). This to allow external users to access the server via Public IP. At the same time, users at Site B would need to access to same server via Internal IP since they have Site-to-Site VPN established. But once I done Static Mapping (NAT), user at Site B unable to access the server at Site A using its internal IP. But external user can access server via Public IP. What went wrong here. Do i need to add extra command to get this done? We really need this.

I'm accessing the server form Site B using its server's LAN IP.
If I remove the static NAT statement from my router at Site A, everything works well. I can access the server from site B using its LAN IP via Site-to-Site VPN. But in this case, external users unable to access server via Public IP since no Static NAT statement.

Exchange setup error: "There was a problem accessing the registry on this computer"

i am trying to install Exchange 2007 SP1 in a Windows 2003 Server standard 32 bits version.
During the "Readiness checks" i received the next error in "Hub transport role prerequisites":

There was a problem accessing the registry on this computer. This may happen if the Remote Registry service is not running; it may also indicate a network problem.
Remote Registry service is running. I've searched for the error in google and in some topics appears that the error is due to the "Client for Microsoft Networks" and "File and Printer Sharing" is not installed in the LAN properties. The server has 2 network cards and in both of them is checked. One of the connections is disabled.
I dont know what more to do, any help will be appreciated.

Problem accessing another public ip in same subnet

Hi,
I have searched around for a previous post regarding this but can't find an issue similar to mine (or I'm just too stupid to understand that it is )
I have a Cisco 5505 at a small business that I help. The problem is that the ISP are providing public IPs to multiple customers in a /24 subnet. The ASA has a single public IP configured 8.8.8.8 (not really, just for the examples sake) with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0.
The webserver I have to access is not managed by me and is located in a different location (same town though) has 8.8.8.115, it is located in the same subnet as the ASA.
How would I make this work? I have tried to configure a static arp entry for the web server but it just won't work. If i place a computer directly on the outside interface I have no problem accessing the web server.
I am running ASA version 8.2, but I could upgrade if it would help me solve the problem.
Any help with this issue is much appreciated.

The ISP only specify one gateway in that range and that is 8.8.8.1 so any other would not let me access internet.

WHCK - Not able to access Server from client machine

Hi,
Server is running in : \\testserver
Domain : ns.local
Client : testclient
Test Name : TDI filters and LSPs are not allowed
When the above test is run from the server side, Test fails with the following error:

Hi,
Reason for this failure is that the test executable is not present in the HLK controller.
It looks like a Microsoft issue. We have faced same type of problem for other tests also. Our problem gets fixed in HLK 10056.
If you face the problem in current build also, then please log a bug to Microsoft.

Office 365 Streaming Notifications, "One or more subscriptions in the request reside on another Client Access server."

Hello all,
I am maintaining a part of our product that requires monitoring mailboxes for events. This is currently being done by using streaming connections for getting the notifications. Our solution has been successful for situations with smaller numbers
of mailboxes, ~200 or less. However we are seeing some issues when scaling up to say, 5000 mailboxes.
The error and the sequence leading up to it are as follows:
Make an Exchange Service Account.
exchSvc.ConnectionGroupName = someGroupName;
add to the httpheaders ("X-AnchorMailbox", userSmtp) and ("X-PreferServerAffinity", "true");
create a new impersonated UserId for the userSmtp address that is our anchor mailbox.
set the Exchange Service account ImpersonatedUserID to the one we just made.
ExchangeServiceAccount.SubscribeToStreamingNotifications(new FolderId[] { WellKnownFolderName.Inbox }, _mailEvents);
to this point everything was successful, saw no error messages.
we create a second impersonated UserID for a different mailbox, and repeat the process above from that step forward. Upon the final step, subscribing to the streaming notifications we get the error:
Exception: Microsoft.Exchange.WebServices.Data.ServiceResponseException: One or more subscriptions in the request reside on another Client Access server. GetStreamingEvents won't proxy in the event of a batch request.
This is only the second subscription that we are trying to add to this connection, and it is to a different mailbox than the first.
Can anyone please help point me to where this is going wrong?

Not that I know of you should be tracking this in your code there are no server side operations in EWS to even tell you if there are active subscriptions on a mailbox.

It's hard to say without seeing your code but it sounds like there is problem with your grouping code. One way to validate this is that with every request you make with the EWS managed API there is a
RequestId header http://blogs.msdn.com/b/exchangedev/archive/2012/06/18/exchange-web-services-managed-api-1-2-1-now-released.aspx
you should be able to give that RequestId to the Office365 support people and they should be able to check the EWS Log on the server and tell you more about what's happening (it maybe server side bug). Something doesn't quite add up in that the X-BackEndOverrideCookie
is what ultimately determines what server the request ends up at and the error is essentially telling you its ending up at the wrong server (have you looked at the headers on the error message?). Is it always one group of users that fails have
you tried different groups and different combinations etc.

Direct access server reporting NAT64 Translation failure

We are seeing strange issue , Direct Access server 2012 is reporting NAT64 warning.
I am trying to isolate causing could not find any useful information.
DA server is behind firewall having Ipv4 internal address.
Error I see on dash board is
NAT64 translation failures might be preventing remote clients from accessing IPv4-only servers in the corporate network.
Any help appreciated.

NAT64 is an internal component of DirectAccess and there really isn't anything that you configure manually for it. Seeing a message about NAT64 having trouble is more than likely being caused by some kind of external influence on that server. For example,
many of the quirky error messages or problems that we see during DirectAccess implementations are caused by security policies being present in the domain. For example, if you plug in a new server to use as your DA server, if you do not block inheritance in
Group Policy, as soon as you join that new server to your domain it may receive settings from existing GPOs in your network. Sometimes those GPOs conflict with the things that DirectAccess needs, and they have therefore broken DA before you even set it up.
If you are setting this up as a new DA server, I recommend removing the Remote Access role, blocking inheritance in Group Policy so that none of your preexisting GPOs get applied to it, and starting the configuration again.
