Problems by deactivation on totally broken pc

Hi
I can't deactivate CS3 on my old pc, because it is totally broken, therefor I can't do it by myself. The deactivation is neccessary to activat CS3 on my new PC.

Solaris 10 root RAID-1 support totally broken!

I have been configuring Sun Blade 1500 with two IDE drives (each on their own IDE bus) as RAID-1 for the /, swap and /export/home partitions. This has worked well and I have always been able to test the RAID-1 recovery ability of such a configuration. However I am very unhappy to report that this functionality to totally broken in Solaris 10. For example, if you disconnect the second IDE drive of the RAID and reboot, the machine kernel panics as expected. However unlikeSolaris 9, which still allows you to login for maintanence and to delete the metastat database entries for the missing drive (thus making the machine bootable without a kernel panic), under Solaris 10 the system simply restarts immediately upon the kernel panic, This makes the RAID-1 system more than just useless but actually dangerous since it now doubles the probabity that you will had a drive failure and end up with an unbootable machine. I am very glad I tested the RAID-1 recovery ability before I installed this machine. Back to Solaris 9 for me!

Perhaps the problem is the mount at boot flag set to no for the /devel /prod and /export/home filesystems? If your system is up try mounting these filesystems, if that works, set the mount at boot flag to yes.

You must take it back to an Apple Store in the US. The warranty is not international. You cannot send it from Chile as Apple does not accept international shipments.

Root RAID-1 support totally broken in Solaris 10

Has anyone else noticed yet that support for recovery of a RAID-1 on the root partition is totally broken under Solaris 10? While one can set up a set of RAID-1 partitions for /, swap and /export/home under Solaris 10 in the same manner as Solaris 9 and the resulting RAID-1 is functional, its recovery process is not! If you power down the machine and remove one of the IDE drives making up the RAID-1 (each on their own IDE bus of course), the machine will kernel panic as expected on bootup. However unlike Solaris 9 which allows you to still login to delete the metastat database from the missing drive, Solaris 10 immediately reboots the machine upon the kernel panic. This makes the use of RAID-1 not only non-functional but actually dangerous since it doubles the chance that you will have a drive failure which will make the machine unbootable. Back to Solaris 9 for me.

Can I have Group1 totals broken down by group3 database field?

I get requests to create reports with the following type format, and with more group levels each needing totals broken down. I have been able to create these reports using arrays and doing it all myself without features of Crystal reports. Is there a simple way to do this using Crystal reports features.

When I set up the cross tab group 3 shows the break down but group 2 and group 1 just shows one total line. I want to see the same break out as group 3 shows. If I can do it using a crosstab you will have to explain to me how to. It would make like a lot simpler for me.

You need a computer with iTunes installed to regain use of your iPod. Unless you have the iPod backup file from the syncing computer all you can do is to restore the iPod to factoery defaults/new iPod. In general theory, one now has the Edit button for their posts, until someone/anyone Replies to it. I've had Edit available for weeks, as opposed to the old forum's ~ 30 mins.
That, however, is in theory. I've posted, and immediately seen something that needed editing, only to find NO Replies, yet the Edit button is no longer available, only seconds later. Still, in that same thread, I'd have the Edit button from older posts, to which there had also been no Replies even after several days/weeks. Found one that had to be over a month old, and Edit was still there.
Do not know the why/how of this behavior. At first, I thought that maybe there WAS a Reply, that "ate" my Edit button, but had not Refreshed on my screen. Refresh still showed no Replies, just no Edit either. In those cases, I just Reply and mention the [Edit].
Also, it seems that the buttons get very scrambled at times, and Refresh does not always clear that up. I end up clicking where I "think" the right button should be and hope for the best. Seems that when the buttons do bunch up they can appear at random around the page, often three atop one another, and maybe one way the heck out in left-field.
While I'm on a role, it would be nice to be able to switch between Flattened and Threaded Views on the fly. Each has a use, and having to go to Options and then come back down to the thread is a very slow process. Jive is probably incapable of this, but I can dream.

I was just told ML could not be installed because apple HD is broken and could not be repaired. I never had any problem ever to suggest a broken HD, on my 2 yr. old mac pro. 10.6.8. Any one else having this problem? Will I get a refund, if so how?

The solution to your problem is rather simple
1: Get a external hard drive and use Disk Utility to format it with a GUID partition map and OS X extended Journaled.
2: Export your browser bookmarks and any other needed data to a file,. Copy your User data folders of Music, Pictures etc over to the external drive via drag and drop copy methods, disconnect the drive.
I don't advise using TimeMachine at this point since your boot drive is messed up, thus so will be your TM drive, just transfering the problem later on back to the new install. We are proceeding with a "Fresh install" method to eliminate as many issues as possible which a TM restore can return to a new OS X install.
3: Next you will need to follow these instructions to zero erase (important) and install 10.6 fresh, use the same named account (different password ok)
How to erase and install Snow Leopard 10.6
4: Before you return files or install programs, Software Update fully and use the AppStore to install 10.8, this way it will be on a fresh 10.6 install, free of issues.
5: Install any and all 10.8 compatible programs as much as possible before returning your User files, this is a performance measure.
If you need too, use this site to find one's that are 10.8 compatible.

6: Last install your user files from the external drive backup into their respective Music, Pictures, Movies etc., folders, into the same named accounts so you preserve your iTunes playlists. When you open those programs, they will update their respective support files automatically.

[no replies since 2days] problem when doing line total in matrix?

i have a user form in which ihave a matrix with few columns and for a particular column there is CFL...when i select a CFL my matrix is feeding with data in other columns as well.....
in my form there is a edit box called Tax...in to which iam supposed to calculate the line total of a column in my matrix... as soon as when i enter CFL....

the above is code is working perfect...but,
there are 2 problems....
1. if i remove "oMatrix2.Columns.Item("V_7").Cells.Item(pVal.Row).Click(SAPbouiCOM.BoCellClickType.ct_Regular)" line from my code there is an error called

For your 1st question, y should you remove that line? If it works fine with that line, leave it as it is. Its afterall placing the focus in that column right?
w.r.t your 2nd question, the reason why the same value is being considered for tax calculation is that, the same old datasource is not cleared. So you clear the datasource manually and this problem will be solved.
Eg: Try to clear the data source as below.
oForm.DataSources.DBDataSources.Item("@Table_Name").Clear();

Fileserver problems (Win/Mac): file path broken

I'm working in a mixed pc/mac environment. Most clients run Windows, some run Mac OS X, but we're all connected to the same Windows file server.
When I sit at a Mac client and place a picture from the Win server into a ID CS3 document, the path to the photo will look like this (in ID's Link panel):
PARTITION:Clientfolder:project_folder:photo.tif
BUT...
When sitting at a Win client, placing the exact same picture from the same source, the path now look like this:
\\SERVER\partition\Clientfolder\project_folder\photo.tif
Note that the "\\SERVER\" part is not in the Mac path.
This is a problem because whenever we open a document on "the other platform", all links are broken and we must manually re-link them.
I've tried mounting the partition using both "smb" and "afp" protocols on the Mac, but still get the same result.
Any clue as to what is going on is greatly appreciated! :)

I think there must be more to it than that. I do not normally work this way, but I just tried it, and I had no problem with the links using this setup:
Mac - ID CS3 5.0.2 on MacBookPro 10.5.2
Windows - ID CS3 5.0.2 in Parallels on the same MBP running Vista
"Server" - Windows 2000 sp4 (client)
I created a file on the Mac using images residing on the "server" volume which was mounted as SMB. The link information was a Dennis suggests - "\\Server\Share\Directory\file"
I saved the file, and then opened it under Vista, and there was no complain about the links. Looking at the Link Info, they were also as Dennis described - "Share:Directory:file"
I'm not sure what accounts for our different results, but I'm happy to do any testing with my set up...

Problems in Discoverer Grand Total

I have a problem regarding group total in discoverer. I have two calculated columns suppose A and B and theier group totals at bottom. Now I have another column C which is B/A. The problem is grand total of C gives the totals of row values for C. Instead of that I want grand total of C = grand total of B/grand total of A.
How could that be possible?

You would need to provide more detail about your 3 columns. On your column C total, are you using SUM or CELL SUM? That would be the first thing that I would look at. Certainly Discoverer is tricky about this kind of stuff. I have worked on true data warehouse software where you could define the total cell for column D to be the SUM(Column A) / SUM(Column B). Unfortunately Discoverer is not so straightforward as that.

Problem on Deactivation of a User exit

SAP Gurus, I would like to seek for your help regarding an error I encounter upon transporting the deactivation of a user exit to Q00. We activated a user exit EXIT_SAPLMLSR_001 (user exit of ML81N) and transported the changes up to Production. However, we encounter a problem that leads us to deactivating the said user exit again. In the development landscape, we had successfully done this by first deactivating the project in CMOD, deleting the user exit in there then activating the project again. We tried and ML81N works fine. Service entry sheet are editable in D00. But when we transported it to Q00, the entry sheets are non-editable. We check table TFDIR in D00, the status of the said user exit is Client = blank, while in Q00, Client = 'C' of the said user exit. Can you help us on how to solve this issue and what cause the problem? Thanks and regards.

I cannot delete the entire project because there are othe user exits that are in there. This problem has been solved by a workaround. Here's what we did, create a dummy project, put the user exit in there, activate it, deactivate then delete the project. The user exit status in TFDIR became Client = blank already. But I still don't know why the problem happens. We want to know the root cause so next time, we would not encounter this again.

RMI totally broken on Websphere & AS/400

Okay, I know it's 4 years later and it did not take me 4 years to figure out what the problem was (OMG) but I thought I'd post what I figured out.
It turns out that the two java programs that were trying to communicate (via RMI) were running on different JRE versions. Now, I know that RMI is SUPPOSED to work between JRE versions, and it seems to on Windows but it does not on the AS/400. We got the program we were trying to communicate with going on the same JRE version and everything has been working fine for years!

Iphone 5, totally broken

I've had my iphone 5 since December 2013, around june i took it to apple because the lock button was not working and thankfully they replaced it for free. aroung a week ago i dropped my iphone for the first time without the otterbox and it completely cracked the screen, i was devestated, but when i got in the car i put my phone in the cup holder and drove home, when i arrived at home while i was using my phone i realized it was a little wet, so i turned it off and put it in rice for a few days, when i turned it back on it told me to connect it to itunes and when i did it said it needed to be restored, but it never completed and it totally turned off and it wont even come up with the connect to itunes. i don't know what to do. i would really appreciate any help
