Problems deploying application.

Hi,
we are trying to migrate a JAVA application from Oracle ias 9i (9.0.3) to 10G (10.1.3), and we have a problem with the EJBs when we make the deploy.
We have two EJBs into two JAR files, into an EAR file.
One of them is a SessionBean, and the other one is an EntityBean.
We deploy, using the Oracle Enterprise Manager, the ear file. We let that the EM make the Deployment plan, and it seems to work.
But when we go to the JNDI Explorer, into the OC4J instance where we have deployed the ear, we don't see any entry, and the combo-box to select an application is empty.
And we have found this error at the log, when we access at JNDI Explorer:

I also am having a problem with simple MBEAN deployment as well. some attributes with default values defined in orion-application.xml deploy fine, one however does not. The error I see in ASControl is attribute "unavailable".
Would appreciate some guidance here.
I see the following errors in the log:

  • Problem deploying application - ERROR: No j2ee modules detected

    Hi
I am new to jDeveloper, and I have created a stateless session EJB, and a JSF page with one ADF component on. When I try to deploy my application to Weblogic, I get this error:
ERROR: No j2ee modules detected in EAR archive. Deployment aborted
Any ideas what I can do to fix this?
    Thank you
    Søren

Hi, I had this same problem. The whole purpose of a EAR is containing a J2EE app. It's divided on a Web Components Archive (WAR) and a JAR with the Enterprise App. I found this document useful and the app could be deployed successfully to an EAR. Remember to include all you extra libraries as another file Group of the "Libraries Type". Basically you owuld have to separatelly create the WAR deployment descriptor, the EJB JAR deployment descriptor and after that create the EAR based on one or two of them.

This document is intended for Jdev10g and OracleAS 10, but the procedure is almost the same for both versions.

  • Problems deploying application with updated method signatures on WLS8.1

    Hi,
I have an jar file under applications which I have deployed fine on WLS 8.1 in the past. I changed the method signature on one of the EJB classes in the jar. One of the parameters now takes a different Java class type. I have recompiled everyone and repackaged the jar but when I try to deploy the jar it gives me an error because the the local interface of the EJB does not have the old Java class parameter type.
I have checked the jar, classes in the jar, and the ejb-jar.xml and weblogic-ejb-jar.xml in the jar and it is looks fine. I have cleaned out my server deployment directories and verified the classpath in case the older jar was in there and everything looks OK. It seems for some reason 8.1 is caching the old ejb-jar.xml or somehow is remembering the old method signature and will not process the updated jar. Has anyone seen anything like this?
Thanks for any help or recommendations

Can you show me the error you receive?
Another simple test would be to deploy your application to a new, empty
    server.
You can create a new domain as easy as this:
    mkdir testDomain;
    cd testDomain;
    java weblogic.Server
Type in the username/password that you want and answer 'Yes' when it
asks if you want to create a new domain.
Try deploying your jar to this new domain, and let me know if it still
    fails.

    Thanks in advance..

We discovered that BEA uses a directory named "autodeploy". By dropping our Jackrabbit 1.1 RAR file (resource adapter), BEA would auto-deploy it. No need to deal with the buggy WebLogic Admin console.
Needed to add the weblogic-ra.xml file to the META-INF directory, and set it up properly. Re-jar it all up as a .rar file, then copy it to the autodeploy directory. The other step is to make sure that the target repository directory exists (I pre-created [bea_home]/jackrabbit/ directory), and that the repository.xml file is already there before you deploy your .rar. Then start up the sample portal server, and the rar file will deploy as a resource adapter. To see it, go into the main server console, click on Deployments > Monitoring > Resource Adapters > Outbound Connection Pools. Jackrabbit should show up there.
This was the directory in which we dropped our RAR for testing:
    [bea_home]/weblogic92/samples/domains/portal/autodeploy
Start the sample portal server at:
    Windows
    [bea_home]/weblogic92/samples/domains/portal/bin/startWebLogic.cmd
    UNIX
    [bea_home]/weblogic92/samples/domains/portal/bin/startWebLogic.sh
NOTE: This didn't end our headaches. Now we're dealing with Jackrabbit creating connections and never releasing them. Hundreds and hundreds of connections, until it runs out of its connection pool. Hideous. But that's a problem for another thread.

  • Problem deploying application: ClassNotFoundException

I've deployed an application with some libraries in WEB-INF/lib directory. When I try to access it, the server responds with a ClassNotFoundException. The class is contained in my library.
I've added the library path to the classpath of the server in server.xml file, I've declared the library in orion-application.xml and in application.xml but it seems don't work.

The weblogic server is running on windows os box, i have stop the weblogic admin server from the windows services and again started the weblogic admin server, the server was running in proper state and i have open the console and try the same thing clicking on the deployment and install options but the same issue i faced. getting the white blank screen, while trying to refresh the page i cannot get the weblogic console waiting for long time also. again after restarting the server i can get the weblogic console.
Then i have tried in another way, i removed the window services and started the weblogic server from command prompt, after starting the server i have opened the admin console and click on the deployment and install option, it is working fine. i tried the same for many times its working fine. but while starting from windows services the problem i was facing same as blank white screen,
Kindly give me a perfect resolution on this issue. because i was so confused on this part.
    Regards,
    Rakhi..

  • Problem deploying an ADF Application - SOLVED

I am having a problem deploying an ADF Faces + BC4J application to my 10.1.3.1 App server. When I deploy to the Jdev embedded oc4j or to a standalone oc4j from Jdeveloper, everything works fine, but when I deploy to the app server, the first page submit gives me an error "Error setting property 'actionEvent' in bean of type null"
I can deploy and run a simple ADF Faces BC4J test page, but my real app fails.
Does anyone have any ideas what might be wrong?
I'm using Jdev 10.1.3.2, oc4j 10.1.3.1 and app server 10.1.3.1, all with the latest adf runtime.

    Frank,
some further information. My app has a login page, which is what gave me the error about an actionEvent. If I bypass the login page and go straight to the app I can open a jspx with adf components in it, but as soon as a submit the page (button clicks etc) I get the 'bean of type null' error. This time I can capture the stack though:

  • WebLogic 10.3 Problem when stop a deployed application from admin console

I've deployed a web application inside webLogic 10.3 and Oracle jdk1.6 in a single server.
The application starts up correctly. When I stop it the weblogic server says that it's really stopped but I can see that the application continues to write logs inside its log file.
When I start again from the console the application fails to run up because it seems that remains some threads or instances of the previous start in the jvm.
I think that the jvm of the deployed application is not stopped correctly but some instances or threads remains active.
I've to restart the server completely.
With others app servers I don't have this problem.
There is a way to force the shutting down of entire jvm that starts with my application?
    Thanks for the support.

  • Problem deploying Web Dynpro Application Definition

    Hi,
I have written a Web Dynpro and then deployed it to an EP6 NW04 server without first defining the Web Dynpro Application (silly me, I know - how could I do such a thing?). Anyway, afterwards, I created the Web Dynpro Application definition, but no matter how many times I redeploy, it does not add it to the Web Dynpro now sitting on the server.
    Können Sie mir bitte helfen?
    Martin

    Hi
    Martin,
Although server is being maintained by third part(one option is though visual admin since you can't access it) other option is use youe web browser with url http://your server IP address:50000/index.html u will find webdynpro link as mentioned below
    <b><u>Web Dynpro</u></b>
Web Dynpro is a User Interface technology available within the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio.
Various Web Dynpro tools provide administrators and application developers with performance measurement and application administration capabilities. The Web Dynpro runtime is already deployed.
Now Click on <b><u>Web Dynpro </u></b> link
you will find Content administrato and web Dynpro administrator u will b directed to login page after entering with UID and passwd u can see all deployed applications ( u can check ur application) and details...
I hope this may help u..

  • Deploying application with EAR file: problems....

    Hello!
We been working in a test environment for developing our application. When its done and ready to go in production, we did generate the deployed application archive (EAR) with the console. Then, we used the
java -jar admin.jar -deploy command to deploy in the prod. env.
Meanwhile, we always get this kind of error, as it seems that oc4j is not generating EJB wrapper correctly:
GestionApplicationSBHome_StatelessSessionHomeWrapper120 was not an instance of interface sertir.portail.gap.GestionApplicationSBHome, the interface it implements is sertir.portail.gap.GestionApplicationSBHome
    at java.lang.Throwable.fillInStackTrace(Native Method)
    AND
java.lang.ClassCastException: ApplicationEBHome_EntityHomeWrapper14 was not an instance of interface sertir.portail.gap.ApplicationEBHome, the interfaces it implements are sertir.portail.gap.ApplicationEBHome, com.evermind[Oracle9iAS (1.0.2.2) Containers for J2EE].util.ExternalComparator, com.evermind[Oracle9iAS (1.0.2.2) Containers for J2EE].server.ejb.EntityContainer
and other errors doing that with almost all EJBs.
My question is, is there a special switch in the deploy command to force the compilation of the EAR file?
    Any help would be appreciated...
    Thanks!

These are set of jar files that are placed in WEB-INF/lib folder
    jsf-api.jar
    commons-net-1.4.1.jar
    itext-1.4.2.jar
    javax.servlet_1.0.0.0_2-5.jar
    log4j-1.2.8.jar
    lucene-core-2.0.0.jar
    ojdbc5.jar
    ojdl.jar
    ojdl2.jar
    orai18n-lcsd.jar
    trinidad-api.jar
I think adf-faces-impl.jar is doesn't require for my application because we have migrated our application from ADF Faces to Trinidad.
    Thanks

  • Deploying Applications with SCCM 2012 R2 to Server 2008 R2 RDS servers

I'm having some trouble finding some concrete information from Microsoft regarding the deployment of applications to RDS servers using SCCM 2012 R2. There seems to be a lot of conjecture, old information and old wives tales floating around and I was hoping
I could get some information confirmed!
    1. MSI installs automatically switch to install mode on RDS servers?
I've seen this mentioned a few times. I've also seen it mentioned that it is only true when running the MSI from the console session manually (i.e clicking the MSI file) not running as SYSTEM as SCCM would usually do. Can someone confirm if they do this
    themselves or not?
    2. Users still logged in when deploying applications?
Is it possible to deploy an application while users are still logged in? Is this only related to going into 'install' mode and taking the chance that a user will do something that will cause issues? Or is it known to cause issues?
I guess those are the main ones, I'm experienced in SCCM but not with deploying to RDS servers, I cant seem to find any straight answers!
    Anyway, thanks in advance!

I've never had large enough RDS environment to use SCCM for app push, but from my experience in managing 2012/R2 RDS and local installs, I never bother with switching to install mode anymore and it works fine.  Now if you're skeptical, you can
easily build this into a script that runs as a pre-req to your .MSI as part of the software package in SCCM so it's not a big deal.
As for installing apps while users are logged in, shouldn't be a problem if you're installing a new app., if however you're updating an existing application or uninstalling it, then it may be best to drain that RDS host first of all user sessions then do
the work just to be safe.  this also helps avoid reboots.
