Problems in setting user attributes using amclientsdk

Hi,
I am trying to set user attributes using amclientsdk. I am using the below mentioned piece of code for the same:
AMIdentity idn = new AMIdentity(auth1.getSSOToken());
Set s = new HashSet();
s.add("cn=adviser,dc=axa,dc=au");
Map roleMap = new HashMap();
String userRoleKey = "nsRole";
roleMap.put(userRoleKey,s);
amIdObj.setAttributes(roleMap);
amIdObj.store();
The AMIdentity type is USER. The environment is Linux and I have amclientsdk.jar in my classpath. When I run the above piece of code then I get the following exception:

Probelm is I am not even able to set nsroledn attribute using amIdentity's store() method. I am able to set other attributes using store() but not these role related attributes.

  • Oracle scheduler : Setting job attributes using Enterprise Manager

    Hi,
    I have created below job and set the attribute "'raise_events" using the dbms_scheduler.set_attribute procedure.
    begin
    dbms_scheduler.create_job
    ( 'ebj_A', job_action =>
    '/tmp/job_A.ksh',
    job_type => 'Executable',
    enabled => false ,

    dbms_scheduler.set_attribute
    ( 'ebj_A' , 'raise_events' , dbms_scheduler.job_run_completed);
    end;
    Now I am creating the same job using the Enterprise Manager (GUI).
    I donot see any where to set the attribute (Raise_events) using GUI.
    Please can you tell me can we set that attribute using the Enterprise manager or not.
    If yes please let me know how.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi ,
    I am modified my question.
    We could set the value for "raise_events" attribute using Dbms_Scheduler.Set_Attribute.
    Can we also set the value for the "raise_events" attribute using the EM.(GUI).
    Please let me know.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Modify an user attribute using Powershell script

    In the current account creation script I am setting the following two attributes targetAddress and proxyAddressess:
    $UserAttributes[0].Add('targetAddress', $User.mail)
     $UserAttributes[0].Add('proxyAddresses', "SMTP:" + $User.mail)
    I need to be able to change these values sometimes.  I thought if I replaced add with replace that would work it did not.
    Ideas?
    Here is the whole function:
     $AttributeItems=$UserAttributes[0].GetEnumerator()
     ForEach ($AttributeItem in $AttributeItems) {
      $AIKey=$AttributeItem.Key
      $NewAttribute=$AttributeItem.Value
      $ADAttribute=$FullUser.$AIKey
      if ($ADAttribute -ne $NewAttribute) {
       Set-ADUser $User.sAMAccountName -Replace @{$AIKey=$NewAttribute}
     $UserAttributes[0].Add('targetAddress', $User.mail)
     $UserAttributes[0].Add('proxyAddresses', "SMTP:" + $User.mail)
     $ClearCount=$UserAttributes[1].Count
     If ($UserAttributes[1].Count -gt 0) {
      Set-ADUser $User.sAMAccountName -Clear $UserAttributes[1]
     $enattendantgodot='Hold on there pardner!'

    I'm using example 4.
    This is what I have:
    $UpdateUserAttributesArray = 'sn','givenName','initials','displayName','info','mail','departmentNumber','department','telephoneNumber','ipPhone','title','physicalDeliveryOfficeName','employeeType'
    Function StudentNameChange {
        $Attributes=BuildUserTable $UpdateUserAttributesArray
        Set-ADuser $User.sAMAccountName -Replace @{mail="$User.mail";targetAddress="$User.mail";proxyAddressess="SMTP:$User.mail";sn="$User.sn";cn="$User.sn + $User.givename"}
    $UpdateUserAttributesArray sets the value for the import file.
    StudentNameChange should set the updated value has needed.
    The script runs but no settings are changed.
    Set-AdUser $User.sAMAccountName  -mail $User.mail -surname $User.sn
    Like that.,
    Replace is only for optional attribute.
    Function does not specifi $user so that may also be missing.
    I think you need to spend some time learning the basics of PowerShell. It looks like you are just gluing things together thazt you have found with no understranding of how any of the bits work.
    Try just setting one user at a command prompt until you see how the CmdLet and PowerShell work.  Post single simple questions as you try each parameter.
    # build a test user object
    $user New-Object PsObject@{
    SamAccoutnName='somename'
    Mail='[email protected]'
    SN='lastname'
    GivenName='John'
    proxyAddresses='...<list of addresses>'
    #start like this and add items until you understand what is working.
    Get-AdUser $user.SamAccountName |
    Set-AdUser -Surname $user.sn -GivenName $user .GivenName -Replace @{Mail='$($user.Mail'}
    #use Rename-Object to change CN.
    You need to learn the simple bits before you try to do grand things.

  • Problem with setting custom attribute and it being searchable

    I'm having an issue with setting a custom attribute and having it be searchable using Portal 10.1.4. The situation that we have is that we initially added a bunch of files to Oracle Portal using webdrive. Later on, we decided that we needed another custom attribute called "Pinned Item" that will be used for searching (boolean value) and gave it a default value of false. The attribute was then added to the "File" item type in the "Shared Objects" group.
    It appears that since this attribute wasn't initially available on the file object, we couldn't search on it so we decided to set it programatically. First, I tried using wwsbr.set_attribute but it errored out seemingly because the value wasn't set in the first place. If I set a value first by using the web front end, I could then use the set_attribute procedure.
    So, I moved on to using wwsbr_api.modify_item and it appears to set it (although everything is being set to false until I changed it to "text" instead of "boolean" which is OK because that's what I wanted anyway... see metalink bug 390618.1). I'm using the method outlined in metalink doc 413079.1. When I do set it to a "1", and edit the item the check box is checked indicating that it is set correctly. And if I just click "OK" to save the attributes after I open it everything works like it should.
    However, the advanced search (and custom search portlet) and the search APIs are not picking it up. I'm not sure if I'm hitting Metalink bug ID 5592472 or not as that's using the "set_attribute" procedure instead of the modify_item procedure. And their "workaround" of setting the attribute in the UI isn't really feasible for a couple thousand files.
    So far I've tried the following things to get it working:
    1. I am calling wwpro_api_invalidation.execute_cache_invalidation
    2. I have executed wwv_context.sync
    3. I cleared the page group cache
    4. I invalidated all of the web cache
    Does anyone else have any other suggestions?

  • Bug in dvt:graph tag? Cannot set graphType attribute using EL expression

    Dear all,
    First thing sorry if this is not the correct forum, but I have a problem that is driving me crazy with ADF DVT tags in JDeveloper environment.
    I'm working with DVT tags to display some graphs in my application. I need to decide at runtime the type of graph I'm going to render in my page, because the type of graph is stored in a database. Also, I use tabular data instead of Data controls, because I have to reuse POJO objects from an existing model tier.
    I have seen that you can bind the graphType attribute of <dvt:graph to a backing bean property, as explained in : http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/11/how-tos/dvt_how_tos/adf_dvt_graph_howto.html. You can even change the type dynamically responding to user actions, ie : you can change for example from BARS to AREAS or whathever. So far so good, the problem is that I have tried the simplest example possible and it seems that I cannot bind the graphType attribute to a backing bean property using an EL expression.
    In my example, the backing bean has a type property with fixed value AREA_VERT_ABS, but it renders as a BAR_VERT_CUST, that is to say, it completely ignores the binding for the graphType attribute, but the binding for the tabularData attribute works properly because it renders the dummy data provided. I have tried with other types of graphic and it always renders as BAR_VERT_CUST.
    I'm working with JSF 1.2 + Facelets + JDeveloper 11.1.1.2.0 and the integrated weblogic server.
    My page is a facelet page as follows :
    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <f:view xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"

    </dvt:graph>
    </af:form>
    </af:document>
    </f:view>
    My backing bean :
    public class GraphBean {
    private String type = "AREA_VERT_ABS";
    public GraphBean() {      }
    public String getType() {
    return type;
    public List getTabularData() { // here I return a hardcoded list that is properly displayed ///
    Note : the sam page but changing #{graphBean.type}" by "AREA_VERT_ABS" renders properly :
    <dvt:graph id="g1" graphType="AREA_VERT_ABS" tabularData="#{graphBean.tabularData}" >
    </dvt:graph>
    Any advice will be very much appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,
    Plan.

    Hello,
    Actually the setter is not needed because the tag only reads, but it does not update the backing bean.
    Anyway for verification pourposes I have changed to the following version without results.
    Anyone from Oracle could give me some light ?
    public class GraphBean {
    private String type = "AREA_VERT_ABS";
    public GraphBean() {
    public void setType(String type) {
    this.type = type;
    public String getType() {
    return type;

    Edited by: 900089 on Nov 30, 2011 11:58 PM

    I was able to set this with the following:
    setUserAttributeValue -> Void : String(userName),String(userAttributeName),Object(newValue)
    No return value. My actual command looked like this:
    cmo.setUserAttributeValue('BatMan','displayname','Bruce Wayne') where 'BatMan' is the 'userName' 'displayname' is the attribute you want to change, and 'Bruce Wayne' is the new value you want to assign to the attribute. After executing this I checked in the console and value was present.
    The attribute can be found at the following:
    'serverConfig:/SecurityConfiguration/dstDev11/Realms/myrealm/AuthenticationProviders/DefaultAuthenticator' replacing 'dstDev11' with your bean name.

  • Can you set pager attribute using jstl c:out tag?

    I am trying to use the pager tag library from jsptags.com. The pager tag has a maxPageItems attribute. I want maxPageItems to be variable. I also want to use the jstl instead of scriptlets and expressions. Instead of writing
    <pg:pager
        maxPageItems="<%= myPageItems %>" >I want to write
    <pg:pager
        maxPageItems="<c:out value='myPageItems'/>">When I do this I get a java.lang.NumberFormatException: for input string: ""
    I think this issue is documented on the jsptags website. So maybe I have no choice but to use the expression format. I guess I should also mention that I am using jstl 1.1 and jsp 1.2 (implemented in tomcat 4.1.27)
    Has anyone tried this and had success?
    Did I provide enough information?

    Sorry, but you can't use tags as attributes to other tags (where would it end?)
    You're stuck with using <%= %> syntax.

    will it be based on role dependency or anyother one ..

    Hello,
    The ability of changing attributes via User settings depends on the role
    assigned to the user and whether this role has the appropriate rights to
    change the attributes.
    In this regard, check the customizing below:
    SRM -> SRM Server -> Cross Application Basic Settings -> Roles ->
    Maintain Attribute Access Rights by Role.
    Here you define which parameter can be changed depending on the role
    assigned to user in question.

    Hello,
    I am facing problem while Setting user defined Status in the shopping cart. Below are the steps which I have followed.

    Hi MLS,
    You can create this program using the program RSDRD_DELETE_FACTS (in SE38). You just need to provide the selections and generate the ABAP program. Ten you can use this in the process chain, with process type ABAP program.
    Hope this helps...

    This spec does not specify any methods to set user attributes. So,
    you'll have to use vendor specific APIs to set user attributes. In the
