Problems in using graph cursor
Hi all
I have two questions
1)
I have a Graph control which has two cursors , cursor no 1 and cursor no 2. The range of X
and Y axes is from -20 to +20 each. I dont want to plot any waveform on this Graph.
I just want to place the cursors on the specific points within the range of x and y axes.
In this case, i am using
SetGraphCursor(PanelHandle,PANEL_GRAPH, 1 , 10.0,5.0); // Cursor number 1
When i run the program, the cursor does not move to the ( 10 , 5 ). Why is it so?
I have tried the Graph as a control and indicator mode , but the cursor does not move to the specifed position.Why?
2)
If the cursor 1 reaches to the certain position on the graph then i want that cursor 2 also reaches to that position by moving slowly and gradually on the graph and finally reaches the cursor 1 position. I want that it reaches the cursor 1 position in 5 seconds.
How is it possible?
Any Help will be greatly appreciated.
Here there is a little sample project that moves one graph cursor to reach the second one. It may be improved a lot: for example it can be modified to move the cursor a fixed lengh each step (now it splits the calculated routed in a fixed number of steps so that for long routes you see the cursor moving in steps, for short ones you see a more fluid movement). Consider it a conceptual framework that you may adapt to your actual problem.

I tried to call proc ORDER_RETURN1 with the help of proc ORDER_RETURN2, but no change, it gives me same error if i call the first proc ORDER_RETURN1 or i call ORDER_RETURN2.
I am stuck with this problem, I had used ref cursor in procedure but not able to call the procedure which uses ref cursor as OUT parameter.
Please help me to resolve this.

XY Graph Cursor Problem in Labview 7.1.1?
Hallo,
I am using Labview 7.1.1 and I am facing one problem with XY graph cursor. If I am moving cursor in one graph, I am expecting same movement in another Graph. But when I move cursor in Graph1, cursor in second graph moves but not to exact X value of Graph1.
Property of Cursor in both graphs must be "Lock to Plot"
If any body knows about this please let me know ASAP. I am attaching example VI for your reference.

XY Graph Cursor Problem.vi 101 KBIt's a curious effect. Probably the floating point coordinate is sensitive to the exact pixel alignment (I mean that this would not happen if we had for example 1 pixel per point in the X direction).
Anyway, if you use Cursor Index instead (which is an integer) the behaviour is as expected.

I am using LabView 2010, expanding on one of the example vis for data acquisition. I want to use graph cursors to allow someone to zoom in on a particular part of a graph. To do so, I have been trying to use property nodes. When a graph has more than one cursor, the property nodes seem to access only the highest indexed cursor. So, I tried to apply a property node to a graph with just one cursor. In particular, I tried to access the x-value of the cursor. When I then run the vi, I get error 1055 "Object reference is invalid". I had hoped to construct the property nodes for one cursor, then add another cursor, and attach property nodes to it. There does not seem to be a way to use property nodes to specify which cursor I am accessing. I have tried a property node with two properties: select cursor as an input, and x-value as an output. The "select cursor" property input seem to have no effect at all.
Is there an example vi for programmatically extracting information from graph cursors?

Please take a look at my screen shot as a reference for getting the x position for a cursor on a graph object. I hope this helps.
Right clicking on the graph and hover over create then property node, cursor, cursor position then cursor x. This should create a property node that gives the position of the cursor on the graph. I understand you are trying to use multiple cursors but this will get you started.

Multiple record insert problem in Oracle Procedure that uses a cursor

I have a oracle procedure that use a cursor, I repeatedly make query on 1st table using cursor value and insert that queried value(of 1st table) to 2nd table
y_summary. y_summary has composite primary key :PK_Y_SUM (BILL_DATE, TRUNK_MGR, IDD_FLAG, PK_FLAG, PREFIX).*

1. I have Tested my SQL statements manually in SQL*Plus. this runs ok

My aim is to make query to Table A using the cursor value like( '4422','442','4411','441','44') and get some data in accordance of these values.Then i put the data into another Table B. same time i need to delete the record from Table A containing the prefix value in accordance for example- i compute value for '4422' from Table A and put the computed value to Table B .Then i delete the record from Table A where prefix is '4422' .so that computed value for the next prefix '442' should contain the computed value for 442[0-1] and 442[3-9] .Same way it will be happened for ('4411','441','44'....bla...bla).

Line Graph Problem when used with Series
I am facing a problem with Line Graph in Oracle Reports 10g.
I have made a graph having series of three curves.
The graph is perfect when all series have similar X-Axis values. See the link

In my case, I have to plot curves.
and some Series have different X-axis values.
I have no choice, but to plot them.
The same thing was working fine with Reports 6i + Graphics 6i.

Reports 10g (9.0.4). I can't recall whether this has
improved in 10.1.2 or it was planned for the next
rev.
Would trying a scatter plot be better?
Line graphs are normally meant for regular intervals
on x-axis, so using the example of dates, Jan, Feb
and Dec would be placed right next to each other,
rather than scaled with the right distance between
Feb and Dec. -
Moving xy graph cursor with mouse and programmably controlling snap to point
Hi,
I have run into a bit of a problem. I am trying to create a program which allows a user to select a location on an XY graph by simply clicking in the vacinity of the plot. Most of it is working, however I find that I can't programmably control the snap to point function reliably.
I hope this is a clear outline of the problem:
- The cursor starts in a Free state, so that when the
user clicks in the plot area, I can set the cursor
position to the nearest point by setting the
CursorPosition using the graph's property node.
- Maybe the user didn't like the chosen location and
wants to drag the cursor over a bit. Ok, user drags
the cursor to a new position.
- Now th
e cursor position is probably not exactly on
the plot trace. If, at this point, I set the cursor
to Snap To Point, the cursor does not snap to the
nearest point on the graph (relative to its current
position), but instead to the last place a _mouse_
action placed it.
- Immediately after the new location has been set,
the cursor state has to be reset to free in case I
need to programmably move the cursor again (I
can't seem to programmably control the mouse in
any state but Free)
How do I go about getting the cursor to snap to the closest point at it's new location? I'm at a loss.
Any insight you might have would be greatly appreciated.

TereSo what is the question about... I have to use XY graph in my program. It is used in Loop while cycle. It shows the statistic of a variable. I am using cursors in this graph to check the actual value of a variable in different period of time. But there are 7 variables and it is extremely hard for user to check each value independently. So I tried to make them moving on the X axis (TIME) together using the property node (cursors reading the position (only X axis, Y axis status lock to plot) of the major cursor and follow it... Everything looks great? But it did not work when I am trying to move the major cursor manually on graph... It works only when I am using the cursor movement buttons... But they work very slowly when there is a lot of data in graph.
I want to find out is it possible to make seven coursers mouthing together By the X axe and be Locked each at its plot by Y axe manually (Using mouse moving on a graph). Is it possible? If it is than how to do it? -

This error was found, when I started using LabView 8, with my old LabView 6.1 VI's.
I have encountered a minor error on my Graph display. I noticed my Y-Scale numbers go negative, if I Press and Hold my Graph cursor, while I am moving it.
I run this same test using New LV 8 XY Graph and numbers do not go negative, but they surely flicker a lot + numbers still change some.
Have you noticed this before? Is there some new property I need to set up, to make my LabView 6.1 Graph stable? Is this known bug or am I just doing something wrong?
Here is VI for your testing. My LabView 8 version is 8.0.0.4005.
Just run it and while moving yellow cursor (press+hold+move), after 1-2 seconds of holding something happens.

I experience the exact same problem in the application I'm programming.
The only solution I have come up with is having the cursors Y-axis
centered in the visible area of the graph.
However this is really bad because there is will create a smal "hole"
in the cursor bar, it looks awfull. I think this is a bug in lv8 since
in lv7.1 I could tie down the y-axis to like -10000 or something and
the problem would not appear.
Hope NI fixes this problem really really soon.

Qucik Graph Cursor Legend Questions
Hi all,
I have a couple of quick questions regarding my graph cursor legend:
1. Is it possible to move the position of the cursor legend during runtime? I cannot seem to drag it around the graph?
2. Can I hide/remove the cursor mover? This is not needed and is for this vi as I need to be able to manually drag the cursors only.
I am accessing the cursor legend during runtime through a right-click and selecting "visable items:.

Sorry i don't know exact answer for questions, But did you try property node of Cursor.
-To access it, right click the graph indicator in Black Diagram and go to create>>Property Node>>Cursor.
-Lot of options regarding cursor available there, you can make selected property to write or change the parameter. and check this for help on cursor properties

Certified LabVIEW Associate Developer (CLAD) Using LV13 -
I'm hoping someone can identify a graph "tool" that's interfering with my LabVIEW program. It's not on the normal graph palette and I can't find reference to it anywhere. It activates seemingly on its own during runtime, and sticks around if I abort execution (its behavior appears to be coded into the graph itself). I wasn't able to take a good screenshot of what the pointer looks like when the tool is active, so I've included a scaled-up drawing below (pointer is the black/white parts).
Some additional details:
- It usually activates when the mouse point hovers over one of the cursors on my XY graph (but only under certain conditions that are not 100% reproducible). The graph cursors are free dragging, and the tool has only activated when I had more than 1 plot on the XY graph.
- If I click on a graph cursor when this tool is active and drag in either the +/- Y direction, the Y scale min/max values change to seemingly random values and the Y scale begins scrolling up. Nothing happens if I move the cursor in purely the +/- X direction.
Much thanks in advance.Okay, I've been able to reproduce the problem consistently in a much simpler VI (attached). It only contains is a single XY graph, with no code on the block diagram. There's some data saved on the graph, and I put a bunch of cursors on it. When I follow the steps below, I've been able to reproduce the issue 100% of the time.
I should note that I'm using LabVIEW 2014 Professional (64 bit) on Windows 7.

LabVIEW 2014 SP1
The problem is:
The VI contains only one waveform graph.
1. I start the VI. Cursor Movement Tool is selected in the Graph Palette by default. Corresponding “Cross with dot” Windows cursor appears when mouse is moved over the plot area (see image). So far so good.
2. I select Zoom in the Graph Palette and use it two-five times (second image).
3. I select Cursor Movement Tool in the Graph Palette again but Windows cursor does not change as it should. It is an open cross now (third image); i.e. the same as shall appear when cross of Graph Cursor Lines is reached.
4. I click mouse three-seven times anywhere in the plot area and the cursor becomes normal (as in the first image).
The problem is not only in shape of the Windows cursor. The whole Graph cursor functionality does not work properly if the Windows cursor has the wrong shape.
Please advise what could cause this problem.It seems, i cannot explain the question in good way
It is not about my data or zooming. It is about strange bahaviour of the Graph. The following sequence of steps illustrates the problem and shows that the zooming is not the issue (or, at least, not the main issue):
I do the following:
1. Start the VI.
2. Select first Graph cursor in Corsor palette and use pop-up menu "Bring to Center".
3. Zoom couple of times (not too much) keeping the Grapg cursor visible.
4. Select Cursor Movement Tool in the Graph Palette.
5. "Open cross" Windows cursor appears from the beginning. I cannot pick up the Graph cursor.
6. Click left button of the mouse several times in any poin of the graph area.
7. Windows cursor is changed to the normal "cross with central point".
8 Now I can pick up the Graph cursor.
I would suspect problems with zoom until p.5. However p.6-8 are done without any change of the zoom.
By the way, I found more:
If I try to move the Graph cursor after p.5, the whole graph moves and fires event "Scale Range Change". It must not happen with Cursor Movement Tool selected.
I can guess only about some strange setting of the graph. May be I am not aware about them -

I am working with a multi plot graph and i am using a single cursor associated with all the plots.
In my application ,from the 10 plots user can select and view selected no of plots
ie,after execution it displays 10 plots now the user use some on/off buttons to view the selected plots.
My problem occurs related to cursor.
Some plots coincide(say plot1 and plot2),so even when i am not viewing the plot1 and only viewing plot2
the cursor legend shows as plot1 at some points where plot2 is also having value.
And if i am not viewing plot3, but i move the cursor through that location it shows plot3.
Can anybody help me to soft this?

taking a stab in the dark,as there no code to understand,
suggest you check in debug mode the cursor properties as your perform the selected operations.

Bode magnitude graph cursor not following plot
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone would be able to shed some light on a problem that I am having regarding an XY graph cursor.
I have developed a simple VI to determine the characteristics of a low pass filter using a sine wave ramped in frequency and subsequently monitoring the gain of the filter to create a Bode plot.
Through analysis of the Bode plot I would like to determine the cut-off frequency of the low pass filter under test. I have introduced a cursor into the graph and using a property node I hoped to drive the cursor to the -3dB point in the Y axis and output the cursors corresponding X position thereby determining the cut-off frequency of the filter.
However the cursor never seems to follow the plot beyond the first step of the loop. It feels as if there is a break in the plot between the 1st and 2nd iteration of the while loop used to ramp the signal generator.
I've tried to work out why the cursor won't follow the plot to -3dB but so far I am stumped.
Any help or advice that you could provide would be greatly appreciated ! I have provided the attached VI for clarity.

LPF Auto Test.vi 109 KBI have corrected your VI.
First, you needed to put the property node AFTER the while loop, because you need the graph to be done first and then look at the frequency cut off.
Second, in LV, the property nodes are read from top to bottom. So you need to place the cursor at Y = -3 first, and then read the X position.

I Have had my iPad for 6 months as I cannot access my work emails using windows. I have to say that it is the most unhelpful device I have ever used and although it looks like there isn't an answer for some of the questions I have asked below, I thought I would try!
1) I have upgraded to ios6 and the kindle app will open but crashes and disappears when I try to access a book?
2) is there any way I can open more than one page at a time, as opening one at a time is hopeless?
3) Is there any way you can replicate the right click function on word? As pasting and copying on the iPad is irritating to say the least!
4) why can't my Samsung 11 phone connect to my iPad via Bluetooth? A they can't seem to 'see' each other? I may have turned a setting off when I was recently abroad and didn't want huge roaming charges.
5) Why do the submit buttons on some websites not work and how can I get them to? I never have a problem with windows, but it is often a problem with the iPad.
6) I have several websites which I have built and usually upgrade on the windows desktop, usually through Internet explorer, but I can't access the sites properly on the iPad (I can see them but can't alter them) and when sending emails through the websites they won't show the page and I can't navigate the page (the size of the email page is bigger than the iPad screen, but I can't either shrink the page to size or move the page around as you normally would on the pad, any ideas?
7) finally, when roaming abroad recently, I had no problems using the wifi, but when trying to use the cellular data (using the roaming function) I could not get it to work? The ipad seemed to be connected to the network with no problems, but wouldn't actually update the emails? I tried turning it on and off, but that didn't make a difference. My kindle and mobile phone (both also on 3G ) worked great, it was just (as usual) the ipad playing up.
8) when wanting to alter part of a sentence, I can't always get the cursor in the right place? Sometimes it is simple the wrong line, but often it will only go at the end or start of a word and not where I want it. Is there any way of making it more exact? Again I never have a problem with moving the cursor on windows, either by mouse or on the touch screen function on windows 7. Any ideas? As after pressing the screen multiple times I just want to throw it out of the window!
IT might just be that I don't have the correct settings (I am a technophobe) but I absolutely hate the iPad and only have it for work emails, it is so annoying that I can get my mobile phone and kindle3g to work fine, but always have problems with the iPad. I am sure it could be good (and for reading emails on the go in the uk it is great, as I like the key board) but it just seems to make everything else difficult.
i Hope you can help and sorry for asking questions others have, but I am just hoping that something new might have been developed!

Try rebooting your iPad, that should fix he issue. I that doesn't work, delete the app and re-download it. The Kindle books should all be in he Kindle cloud services and you can get them again. I have an iPad2 w/ Kindle app and it works just fine - no issues.

Page as in a kindle book way? turn iPad to landscape position from portrait position. If, however, you mean open more than one application at a time, then no. And not hopeless, as it takes a bit of time to get used to, going from a desktop/laptop format to tablet format.

It's actually fairly easy. Press down on the word, then you can expand by drawing your finger to cover word/sentence/paragraph/page, hit select or select all then it gives you the option to cut, copy, paste, define. If you want to use a word processing app on the iPad, Pages is a good application.

It's the connection on your phone. Samsung Galaxy SII? Android software? What you have to do is go to the phone's settings and connect via wireless, not Bluetooth. Go to System Settings (on phone) and under Wireless and Networks click 'more' and go to the Tethering and Portable Hotspot option. Set up your mobile wifi hotspot, name it though it will probably come up with 'AndroidAP', choose a WPA2 security level and put in a password. Go back to previous screen and turn on 'Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot' box. Then on your iPad in the Settings - Wi-Fi section, it should then recognize your phone for tethering. If it's a Windows Phone 7, I don't know the layout of that software, but presumeably similar.

Sometimes the issue is with the website design, not all websites are optimized for mobile devices - not just iPad but also Android devices. It happens. They're getting there, but occasionally the page might need a refresh.

It depends on what you use to build the websites on the computer. Recommend a free program on the computer called CoffeeCup Free HTML Editor. I don't recommend using IE period; Firefox or Chrome are my choices on Windows machines. I have two websites that I manage, both using this program. I'm assuming that when you mean you can't access the sites on the iPad you mean to update them? Ostensible there are apps to let you do this. What format are the sites? Without seeing what exactly you mean and what you want to do, it's hard to explain.
As for seeing full page while emailing within a site, turn iPad to portrait mode, and try to finger-pinch touch the screen to see if that will bring the fuller page into view. Other option is opening a second tab with same website and just go between tabs to reference material.

If you were outside the US or Canada, my guess is the problem lies within the SIM card in your iPad. If you were outside North America, there are different band levels - I'm guessing you have a SIM thats locked to a particular provider. Band level frequencies differ per country/continent, so a SIM card that will work in Canada/US will not likely work in UK/Europe/Asia/Australia, etc. you will be able to get your emails again when back on a wifi network. Mobile phone may have a different type SIM card (GSM/HSPA) from your iPad SIM. Also, check your email settings.

Moving the cursor on a sentence is a matter of putting your finger on the screen where you want it. It's exceptionally easy to do. I'm using the Notes app to write this whole segment and I just need to put my finger where I want to change things and presto it's ready for me to change where I want it.
Here's a solution: sell your iPad (after you wipe your data off it) to someone who will appreciate it, and put your money towards the Windows Surface Tablet out later this year/early next year, where you can (reportedly) connect a mouse to it. It will have some of the Windows 7/8 functionality that you're more familiar with, or get a netbook.
