Problems on scanning BAR CODES

Hi people!
I have to print bar codes from an abap report and then scan. I've done the first part (printing) but I just can't scan the code I print. Does someone have an idea?

Didn't know you could produce Barcodes from ABAP reports - how did you do this? As Christian said, you could also make the font bigger. What are the barcode specs? Sometimes, you need to have the ratios between the "thin" and "thick" lines set up based onthe type of scanner you use. You can manipulate these settings through the Bar Code Settings via SE73.
This is how you can do it. Let's assume you are using a HP1200 Device Type and a Code 128A Barcode Font. From SE73, click on the "Printer Bar Codes" Radio button and select Display.
Double Click on the HP1200 Device Type and you will see all the Bar Codes that have been set up for that Device Type. Find "C128A_00" and single click on the Prefix 'SBP25' and hit the "Displ. Print Control" button.
This Prefix is the external printer control command that SAP will pass to the printer in the printer's language. Once you hit the "Disp. Print Control" button a popup will appear, now look at the Control Char. Seq. This is the printer command for this particular Barcode font. All the characteristics relating to Barcode Font, Size, Height, Spacing, Ratios, etc are defined here.
Because these commands are in the Printer's Native Language, you will need to get the relevant programming guide for your printer to know what values to manipulate.

Problem while arranging Bar-code window

Hi,
I recently added a barcode in a widow above main window.
This barcode window is well adjusted in form painter,but when print preview is taken ,Barcode window overlaps main window.
I have clicked on border for frame and shading for barcode window.

May be, it seems the window is over lapping but actually the problem due to the format problem.
Please check with the paragraph and character format that is assigned to the variable which will be shown in the bar code window.
I had a same issue and adjusted the paragraph line space & it got solved. I am not sure, it will work or not. Please check it.

Problem related to BAR CODE

Is there a function module to create Barcode for batch and materials .
we are not using SAP standard material number range .
insted the materail number will be alfa numeric .
how can we create a barcode for this ?

Create a character format in the SAPScript.
Choose the Bar Code for the character format.
And finally to display barcodes, in the command enter:
<C1>&vbeln&</>
 where C1 is the character format created and vbeln is the variable for which the barcode is to be created.

Scanning a bar code

I have a curve 9300 and I am unable to scan a bar code and 9 times out of 10 it causes my phone to freeze and I have to remove the battery is it a problem with the software or with the phone its self

Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner:
With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescirbed for most gltiches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
Now, try the QR code scan again.

Bar Code Scanning for Windows Phone 8.1

Hi,
I need to find proper way how to scan bar codes in Windows Phone 8.1 or in universal app. I found out that there is native class BarcodeScanner available only for client apps and not for WP. I also find 3rd party library zxing.net, which is not working very
well on WP 8.1. I have done really deep research, but I have not found any single working solution for WP 8.1, so I would like to ask for your help in finding of library with which I will be able to scan barcodes on WP 8.1.

If you don't need a universal App you could build a Silverlight 8.1 App and use the old Camera APIs which work nicely with ZXing.Net. I have done so myself.
As for Windows 8 and Universal Apps - you would have to implement a CustomSink for the Video Stream, extract Frames from there and pipe those though a recognition library. So far there seems to be no ready made solution that offers this.
So right now using the old APIs would be my suggestion.

Where do you find a bar code that you scanned in your phone?

I scanned a bbm code and can't locate it in my phone. Where would I go to find and research the information loaded on this code?

Regarding bar code scanning

Hi Gurus,
I have one requirement.
After scanning the barcode, that barcode value is populating in the selection screen of a program. My requirement is, after the value is filled in selection screen by barcode scanning, the report has to be executed automatically.
Could you please tell me is there any event triggers in the report, when the field is filled in the selection screen by scanning the barcode.

But i am not using any screen, the value of scanned bar code will be filled in the selection screen of Z-program. After filling the value, then it has to be executed automatically.

What is the best software for cataloguing a large book collection into my iMAc. I would like to use a hand-held scanner, and scan bar codes, entering ISBN numbers only when necessary. Currently using Book Collector (www.collectorz.com) on a PC. desktop

I did something similar and used an application for my phone (Android OS at the time), which I can't recall the name of, to bulk scan the bar codes and subsequently upload the list to my mac in the form of an excel spreadsheet (it was a csv file). When I migrated to an iPhone, the application "Bar code scanner" performed in the same manner. Using my phone was by far the easiest method of bulk scanning (and subsequently cataloguing on my machine) in both instances.

Smartforms bar code prinitng?

I am scan bar code in SE73 but not able to print properly using Smartforms .
I am getting different output when I am using smartforms .
Same printer I am using in smartforms as I used in SE73.
Let me know where I am wrong or any other setting require.

are you able to printout BARCODE in smartforms.. If not just make sure the following.
1. Create smartstyle using txn. Smartform (Define ur BARCODE in the character)
2. Define the smartstyle in the smartform under output Options.
3. under text editor, General attributes tab Select your field or value that you want to print has barcode and select the barcode font from the dropdown box.

Well, couldn't you say that a tablet or smartphone is using a camera to scan a QR code? Bar code scanning problem

Hi all,
I have a problem in scanning barcode. I'm using C128A barcode in the smartstyle in character format. It is getting printed in the form. But i'm unable to scan it using barcode reader. Please help me out in this as it is a critical issue. Please do the needful.

Hi,
You can read barcode directly to the field you want in smartforms. (unless... you have complex data coded in the barcode - for example if you're using an ean-ucc 128 compliant code and you're sending several fields in a single code ... In this case, an interface is almost mandatory because you must interpret the data fields according to the ucc standard, split the code into several fields .... and .... pure programming logic ).
To put it clear: if you have to read, for example, a barcode that holds the legal number of an invoice using a barcode scanner and this number should be sent to migo-> bktxt then you don't need an interface. The scanner itself acts like a fast operator entering the characters using a keyboard and filling in the field.
We're reading barcodes in several places (when we finish each pallet, when we receive an invoice, and so on. Each case is a different screen. We arent using an ascii file to read these barcodes. Furthermore, we read the invoice legal number into migo bktxt field (Head Text).
Just check the barcode you are trying to scan.

Do you use crystal report or standard Print Layout?
if you use Crystal Report, Normally we use font "Code39"
Try this:
Add asterick ( * ) between the text you want to scan.
e.g.
asterickDOCNO123456asterick
asterick is the symbol with no space in between.
and change the whole string font to Code39

Vertical lines, like a bar code, only when scanning or copying. Printing from computer is OK

I get vertical lines , in black & white & color, when scanning or copying.
When I print from my computer, all is OK.
The lines resemble a full page bar code. I have done a cold reboot & run the HP trouble shooter, all to no avail.
I do not see a bright light during scan or copy. Could the problem be a burnt out bulb?

It certainly could be a the scanner bulb. Do you have the printer connected directly to a wall outlet or is it in a surge protector or power bar? Even if you have been using a surge protector/power bar all this time and you feel it is not the cause, please connect it to a wall outlet just so we can eliminate the power source as the root cause. MPN Bar code scanning

We do bar code scanning at the time of GR. We are planning to use HERS material type but the problem is HERS material type is not having EAN number field, please guide how to do this.

Most bar code readers have either an RS232 interface or are so-called 'wedge' devices which means they sit between a PC keyboard and the PC and insert characters from the barcode as if they had been typed. In both cases the decoding is done by the reader and all the user sees are ASCII strings.
If you need to extract the codes from video images, I suggest a good book on image processing nd the ISO spec. for the barcode in question.

BAR CODES in smartforms - conversion problems to PDF

I have a problem. Have a look at the following points and see what I have done:
1. I generated several different system bar codes using SM73
2. I added those system bar codes to a smartformstyle
3. and built a smartform using smartformstyle of system-bar codes.
4. then I made some examples of bar codes in the smartform as text.
5. next I sent this smartform via email as an pdf attachment using smartform mail functionality.
6. shocking - all bar codes in the pdf-file are not readable. You can see that there is a barcode placed, but all barcodes looks like the same.
Has somebody got a idea on what is going on here?
I already had a look at OSS Notes 430887 and 645158.
