Problems packaging assignments for incopy

After the recent updates I can't seem able to package the assignments for inCopy anymore.
Any clue?
If I right click on the assignment all I get is "open package" or "add to assignment" but the option "package for inCopy" has disappeared

No. It doesn’t work that way.
Everyone in this workflow needs to have the same fonts installed.

  • Problems locating assignments using InCopy/InDesign CS5

We have recently introduced an InDesign/InCopy CS5 workflow into our studio. We've come up against a big problem we are hoping someone can shed some light on.
    1. We make an Assignment and package for InCopy.
    2. The InCopy user edits, checks back in.
    3. When opened back to InDesign, we get these two messages:
We are currently just in trial stage and are running between two different Mac OS (10.6.4 and 10.5.8) and sharing files off a PC server running Windows 2003. We changed from AFP to SMB to support longer character names. None of our file names have been moved, renamed or deleted in any way. When we 'Browse to locate the correct document', we go into a never-ending loop of finding and linking but not actually getting anywhere. If we just open the InDesign file, we get the red hexagon and question mark symbol. We click on it, select Update All Assignments, which it does and clears the hexagon symbol however, it duplicates the .imca file in our Assignments folder. Also once we save and reopen, we get the hexagon symbol again.
    What could it be?

    Bob,
We've discovered the problem, I wanted to let you know for future reference. It was to do with a third-party software plug-in we have called Blacklining. We originally used Blacklining in CS3 when all files we worked on needed the plug-in or even a dummy plug-in for anyone else in our studio or print houses to access. This was written out of CS4, however we migrated straight onto CS5 so therefore every previous document made in CS3 still had the Blacklining plug-in attached. We only ever put the plug-in into our Applications folder when packaging for print. So when the plug-in was not in the Applications folder, we got the problems described. When the plug-in was placed back in the folder, it worked seemlessly.

  • Assignments for InCopy don't include fonts?

I am uncertain how InDesign and InCopy are handling fonts. After reading on Adobe.com about InCopy, I thought that using InDesign to send an assignment (an icap-file) via email, it would include all needed files (including fonts), because according to Adobe, the receiver has to worry about nothing, he opens the assignment in InCopy, fonts load automaticaly, all done. But after downloading the demo, some testing and searching on the internet for more information, it seems I was wrong and the receiver must have all needed fonts already installed on his computer or keep them in a "document fonts" folder right next to the icap-file. Is it not possible to include the needed fonts in the icap-file or am I doing it wrong? Is there a box somewhere that needs to be checked for the fonts to be included in the icap-file?
    Thanks for any help.

  • Data merged text into boxes assigned for InCopy doesn't display merged text, only the placeholder

    I think I found a bug.
I created an InDesign document for use in InCopy for a client. The end goal is to data merge a whole array of documents for the client, who can open them in InCopy and update the text.
    I designed the layout
I created the assignments for InCopy (which stories and images the InCopy user could edit)
I then set up a data merge to pre-populate content like contact details, portrait photos etc
When I merged the final document, two things happened.
The images didn't respond to the Content Placement Options (fill proportionally), they all just got placed at 100% size ratio (they did centre though)
The data merge fields didn't populate the placeholders with the relevant text. All of the fields just came up as their placeholders <<Phone>> <<Fax>> etc
As soon as I deleted the assignments and re-merged, the image settings were being applied and the fields were populating the documents.
I'm using the latest version on CC, 10.0.0.70.
Anyone else had this issue? It's very specific but it is a bug.

A couple of other users have reported similar problems, and it appears to be a bug when you go from preview to merge. If you undo out of preview, or skip it entirely, before hitting themerge button, does it work?

  • Package for InCopy and Email

I am having trouble with "Package for InCopy and Email" in CS6 on a Mac 10.6.8. My default email is Outlook 2011. I get a blank message window when I try use this option. I end up manually creating the assignment and emailing it. But I would prefer for the email window to open with the package automatically attached. It started happening when I upgraded to CS5.5 and also upgraded from Entourage to Outlook email app. Any thoughts to resolve this issue?

Adobe didn’t say anything, I did. And I didn’t say it was Microsoft, I said it sounded like an issue with the email program.
Where does that leave you? Looking for the cause.
Does any other program cause this? Do you have Acrobat installed? Try to attach a PDF to an email and see if it works.

  • Problem AAMEE 3.1 + InCopy 8

    Hi all,
I cannot obtain update for InCopy CS6 (8.0.1) by AAMEE 3.1 tool to build a new package or to update existing package.
The disk image downloaded from Adobe site is not a valid installer for AAMEE
Someone has any kind of solution?
    Platform MacOsX v. 10.8.2
Only AAMEE is installed - no other Adobe software.
    Thanks

    hi,
While creating your Adobe account, did you use any special characters like &,% etc.  in username or email address. There are some known issues with these characters.

  • Problems loading updates for PSE/PRE 9 after re-installation

    Hi
After having upgraded  Windows 8.1 to 64 bit (earlier 32 bit) I re-installed both PSE 9 and PRE 9 and registered both of them
Next step was to download PSE/PRE updates (packages available for both products) but that ends with error messages
    Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.0.3 Update
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.
    Photoshop Camera Raw 6.5 Update
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.
    Premiere Elements 9.0.1 Updater
There was an error downloading this update. Please quit and try again later.
I quit and came back later - several times - yesterday and today - but no chance to load the updates.
I really need the updates at least for Camera Raw 6.5 which refuses to open CR2 files from a Canon EOS 60D
My guess was that it could have to do with missing deactivation of my previous installation (meanwhile fixed, by booting into 32bit Windows 8.1 - still available on another partition, deactivating and removing both PRE and PSE).
So I was in contact with Adobe Support via chat in case my serials had to be unlocked but they just replied that I would have received another error message and that I shall contact the forum for older products like PSE9
But they also stated that the updates are available @Adobe, no known system problems.
I hope you have a better answer.
    Thank you for helping!

    Bernd
    PS:
System Config: i5 3.2 GHz, 12 GB RAM, Windows 8.1 x64 t (new installed), NVidia  GeForce GT520, latest driver
Main Adobe products in use: Lightroom 5.6 (x64), PSE 9 & PRE 9
Internet Connection: Fibre 100 Mbits up/down (this cannot be the reason )

It's an issue on adobes side.
The easiest thing to do is download and install the updates from here:
    photoshop elements 9
Adobe - Photoshop Elements : For Windows

  • "Maximum package size for data packages was exceded".

    Hi,
We are getting the below error.
"Maximum package size for data packages was exceded".
In our scenario we are loading the data product key wise (which is a semantic key as well) to the DSO thro’ a start routine.
The logic in the start routine is such a way that it calculates the unique product counts , product key wise. Hence we are trying to
group  the product key thro’ semantic groups.
Ex: In this example the product counts should be A = 1,B=2 ,C = 1
      Product Key
      Products
      A
      1000100
      B
      2000100
      C
      3000100
      B
      2000300
      C
      3000100
For some product keys the data is so huge that we could not load the data & we are getting the error.
Please suggest any alternate way to  handle this thro’ code or introducing any other flow.
    Regards,
    Barla

    HI
we can solve the issue by opening the system setting of data packer size
like below we have create 2 programs, 1 for open the system settings,2 for
    close the settings .
    1 start program
    data: z_roidocprms like table of
    roidocprms.
data: wa like line of z_roidocprms.
    wa-slogsys = 'system_client' . wa-maxsize = '50000'. wa-statfrqu = '10'.
    wa-maxprocs = '6'. wa-maxlines = '50000'.
    insert wa into table z_roidocprms.
Modify roidocprms from table z_roidocprms .
    2 close program
data: z_roidocprms like table of roidocprms.
data: wa like line of z_roidocprms.
    wa-slogsys = 'syetm_client' . wa-maxsize = '50000'. wa-statfrqu = '10'.
    wa-maxprocs = '6'. wa-maxlines = '50000'.
    insert wa into table z_roidocprms.
modify roidocprms from table z_roidocprms .
data load infopakage settings we have to maintain like
    below
we have create the process chain like as below
    1 start progarm
    data load infopakage
    2 close program.
    This might fix the problem.

  • How to restore package contents for preview.app after Mac OS X Lion upgrade

since installing Mac OS X Lion I have been totally unable to run Preview.app. After having attempted to troubleshoot the problem I discovered that the package contents for the Preview application no longer existds on my hard drive. Does anyone know where I can obtain a another copy of the preview application? or how I might go about restoring the package contents for Preview in order to run Preview.app?

Use Pacifist to extract it from the InstallESD.dmg residing inside the Install Mac OS X Lion.app.

  • Two Assignments in InCopy's Assign Panel

Now I'll install the workflow with InDesign CS5 and InCopyCS5 at medium  Newspaper.
The problem is: I want that InCopy users (editors) to be  able put a INCX file to other assingment in InCopy's panel assignments
Is it Possible? Have two assignments in InCopy Panel?
Or a  workaround: When the Editor finish your work in some text frame, he can  indicate that frame is free to review, without talk with InDesign user.  Who have the rights to change this INCX from a assignment to another.
Thanks a lot to any help.

That's a potential problem right there but I doubt it's the cause of this issue.
Does everyone have full permission on the server? Are you absolutely sure that nothing was closed without checking it out? Are the checked out stories consistent between users?

  • Packaging files in InCopy CS6

I have just installed InCopy CS6, and received an assignment from our designer, who created the document in InDesign CS5. I have successfully opened and edited the document, but the option to package (in any format - to Return for InDesign or Forward for InCopy) cannot be selected (greyed out). Any suggestions as to why this might be?
    Thanks in advance!

    Here’s how it works.
The only way you can package for InDesign is if you are working on a package you received from an InDesign user. Likewise, the only way to forward a package to an InCopy user if you received an InDesign or InCopy package.
InCopy cannot be the beginning the step for a remote workflow.
The package (INCP) is the assignment but in it’s own wrapper.

  • Package Management for CodeExchange ABAP projects

    Hi CodeExchange ABAP Contributors,
according to the size of ABAP in the [https://cw.sdn.sap.com/cw/codex/projects|CodeExchange Project Directory Tag cloud] most of the Projects are ABAP based. Some of them like Twibap, ABAP JSON and ABAP OAuth depend on each other. That is also the case if you want to install packages using [SAPLink|http://code.google.com/p/saplink/], then you need in the most of the cases some [Plugin|http://code.google.com/p/saplink/wiki/pluginList] installed. That can be sometimes very cumbersome.
As a user of Perl, PHP and Ruby I was using their package management systems like CPAN, Pear and Gems. They provide an easy command line interface to install and update packages. In addition they take care about dependencies.
I think it's time to start working on a Package Management for CodeExchange ABAP projects. Let's call it ABAP Package Management (APM). SAPLink providing the container to exchange the package and ZAKE to handle the download and install can be a good starting point.
Let's discuss the problem space here and perhaps we also can involve someone who has perhaps already some experience in building a package management system.
    Best regards
    Gregor

    Hi,
an XML file to be included into the nugg that describes dependencies on a base of Plugin ID, Plugin Name and Version should be enough.
The XML should be managed by SAPLink, the hard job is to automatically download and install the plugins.
    How to login to CodExch?
How to download the certified version of the plugin? A project can delete an old version nugg.
As you said we need a central instance were the plugin version are versioned and identified univocally.
Indeed we need a page in code exchange or a tool in release page in order to register the current file as versioned.

    Ivan

  • CS3 - Broken hyperlinks after Package Book For Print

I've posted a similar problem here a few weeks ago, but no answers, so hopefully I can get some help here with a more specific problem description...
I have created a an INDB, including several "chapter" INDD files, linked PNG images and hyperlinks to text and URL anchors throughout. Once I have everything complete, I select all the INDD files and do a "Package Book for Print", making sure the Preflight finds no problems, and then save the packaged INDB folder in a new directory on my local drive.
All works fine in the new INDB, EXCEPT that any hyperlink that points to a text anchor in a different INDD is broken.Apparently, the hyperlink is still pointing to the original INDD's absolute location rather than the new INDD text anchor within my newly packaged INDB. All Hyperlinks that point to a text anchor in the same INDD are fine.
I do not see any option to change this behavior. Strange though, that if I go to edit one of these "broken" hyperlinks, as soon as I choose the correct INDD that it should point to, then it correctly chooses the right link destination automatically in the edit dialog, so obviously it has stored the correct text anchor info, but just loses the document it should point to.
Is there any way to avoid this problem? It is a real pain to keep fixing hyperlinks every time a package my INDBs. I've heard some people use a 3rd party plugin to remedy this and other InDesign link problems (but I forget the plugin name). Suggestions??
    Thanks!

Are you talking about what I said - "Seems like in the past, I saved a copy of my book, then packaged the copy for print?"
I thought that was the only way around it. I feel certain I will not make this mistake again. Luckily, most printers I work with prefer pdfs. It's just an insane bug. If it's not a bug, it's a major flaw in the program. People do package books. The option wouldn't be in there if we didn't do it sometimes.

  • Incorrect wrapper package created for a PL/SQL web service

    Hi there,
    JDeveloper 11.1.1.3.0
Oracle DB Enterprise Edition Release 11.1.0.7.0
I created a web service based on a PL/SQL package. For some functions in that package (the ones with IN OUT parameters it seems) JDev created a wrapper package. However that wrapper package is wrong and it fails to compile and consequently the web service calls fail.
The generated wrapper package looks like this:
CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE BODY CustFeedbackWS_plsql_wrapper IS
    FUNCTION "CFB_PKG"$FN_SET_CATEGORISATI (P_TAB IN OUT CFB_CATEGORISATION_TAB
    ) RETURN INTEGER IS
    RETURN_ INTEGER;
    BEGIN
    RETURN_ := SYS.SQLJUTL.BOOL2INT("CFB_PKG".FN_SET_CATEGORISATIONS_IW(P_TAB
...As you can guess, CFB_PKG is the original package name. However, because of the double quotes added around it, this code fails to compile with the error:
PLS-00181: unsupported preprocessor directive '$FN_SET_CATEGORISATI'I have two questions regarding this:
1 - Why wrapper functions were created for some functions (8 out of more than 30) and not for others, is it because they have IN OUT parameters?
2 - Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?
    Thanks!
    Luis

Currently, PL/SQL webservice does not map SQL exceptions into webservice faults. You may be able to see the SQL error in the server fault message though.
