Problems with bursting that fail to generate PDF, but still sends email!
per subject. Essentially I have built a test where the bursting engine is emailing recipients, however the bursting engine is somehow failing to generate a PDF output. The bursting engine essentially fails and I can capture the error, but emails are still sent and without attachments!

To prevent emails from being sent, I implemented the BurstingListener and would check for the existance of document files. If they don't exist, I throw a NullPointerException which kills the bursting process without causing an email to be sent. My implmentation is as follows:

I'm having problems with the Adobe reader for iPad.
Whenever I modify a pdf file, adding notes or any other mark up, I'm not able to see any of the markups in the file when I open the same file with another application or I send it via e-mail.
Only the digital signature is still visible.
ThanksYou are correct. When i open it with Adobe i get my mark ups etc. When i use Apple`s pdf view i do not.

Can you share what applications you are using to view the notes after emailing? You have to view the document in a Reader that supports annotations. Apple ships a built in pdf viewer (like the one used in iBooks) that many iOS developers use (e.g. Dropbox, email). This built in PDF viewer does not support rendering annotations. However, many other applications (like the Adobe Reader for iOS and the Adobe desktop products) do support Annotation rendering. Similarly, one of our competitor's PDF viewers (PDFExpert) supports this functionality as well. Annotations are part of the PDF standard and the specification is widely available and we would love to see more renderers support it!

This means, the raise of the exception comes from the command before ELSE and this is CALL SCREEN.
CALL SCREEN is only reachable. if w_suppress_dialog is SPACE. It can't be 'X'.
You have to find a way to set it to 'X'.

Problem with JMenus that Persist - Is this a Java bug?
I am having a problem with JMenus that persist. By this I mean
that my drop down menus persist on the screen even after they have
been selected.
I've checked the Java bug database, and the following seems
to come closest to my problem:

new P2();Well, my understanding of the way painting works is that a component doesn't UNPAINT itself. Instead a message is sent to the component under the coordinates of the menu to REPAINT itself.
In your demo program the JFrame is the component under the JMenu. The paintComponent() method of JFrame is empty, so nothing gets repainted.
I added super.paintComponent(g); to the method and everything works fine. -

Problem with Spaces that started with Snow Leopard
I've noticed two problems with Spaces that have arrived since switching to Snow Leopard... First, if I am in say Space 1 where I use Safari and I then want to move over to an open application, say like Excel, that I have running in Space 4, there are a number of ways to get there but one way I used to use all the time was to move down to the Dock and simply single click on the open Excel application and that would immediately switch me over to Space 4 and whatever Excel documents were already open there... Now, since switching to SL, a single click of whatever application in the Dock makes that application active in the Finder (you see its name appear in the upper left of the menu bar) but otherwise nothing happens... You then have to click a second time and then you switch over to Space 4... It's not really a double click because that implies to clicks closely spaced in time... For this, you can click once, leave the room, come back, click a second time and you will now switch to the alternate space where the open application is running... That is clearly different than it was under Leopard and I would suggest that it is a bug because there is no value in the outcome of that first click... It highlights the switched application but doesn't actually switch to it until you click a second time...
Second, and this one is worse, if you say launch Excel (which you want to open in Space 4) while you are in Space 1, Excel will open and switch over to Space 4... So far so good... But now, with Excel open over in Space 4, if you are now back and working in Space 1 and while there you use the Finder to go to some other, currently unopened, Excel file and request that it open, it should switch over to Space 4 and open that file but instead it opens it wherever you are, in the case mentioned here, in Space 1... So now you have Excel files opened both in Spaces 1 and 4... Clearly a bug... Spaces had some similar issues in a few early versions of Leopard but they eventually got it working... ...that turned out to be my mistake... In another post someone pointed out that in Spaces preferences you must have checked ON the preference that says,
"When switching to an application, switch to a space with open windows for the application"...
I had been playing with a number of things trying to figure out what was going on and somewhere in the mix had switched that off... (It is on on all my other computers and I'm sure it originally was on this one too)... When I switched it back on the above described problem went away... So that was my fault...
But the second part,

...is a real problem... I fired up my G4 (power pc) that runs Leopard, 10.5.8, to see whether it behaves the above way or not and it does NOT... It works as one would expect.. So at least later in Leopard, the above mentioned problem was not present but it is in this first incarnation of Snow Leopard...
To me, the utility of Spaces is all about keeping a single desktop from being cluttered with many open applications/files and to now have an application that opens in whatever space you happen to be in after it is first opened in its "correct" space sort of defeats the idea behind Spaces... I am currently trying to train myself to first hit <command><4> (my Excel space) before opening a second or subsequent Excel document to prevent it from opening somewhere where I don't want it to be...
Again, I hope Apple sees and fixes this... I did submit an "Apple feedback" item for this issue... thanks... bob.. -

I'm sorry to learn that your phone is having problems starting up, marinema08. I'm sorry if this is incorrect, but are you using the original HTC Droid Incredible or a later Droid Incredible model? Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

New 4s connected to my Lexus bluetooth. Having intermittent problem with calls. I can hear them, but they can't hear me. Never a problem with 3gs phone. Anyone else having this problem?
I ended up getting a new phone, straight through Apple. I called their technical support and went through all he basics again and they decided to replace it. Was a pretty quick process - after defaulting and resetting the whole phone (about 2 hours), I called them back to inform that there was no change, so they set up the order.
I had to give my CC# so they could hold a charge on it (in case I didn't send my old phone bach, which they sent me a pre-posted package to send it in anyway). Had a brand new iPhone 4S in my hands in 4 days, which was pretty decent. I had uploaded everything previously to iCloud, so setting up the new phone was a snap.
Only thing I really didn't like was they charged me almost 30 bucks for shipping or processing, or something. Not so sure that should have been my responsibility after spending so much on a brand new product, only to have to have it warrantied after, like, a month. -

When I upgraded my iPhone 4s to IOS7, I lost all my app icons. Where did they go? Interestingly they are still listed in notifications and I could play words with friends when I got a message on the home screen that it was my turn (but still no icon)
