Problems with default domain with Weblogic 9.1 server

Hi,
Today I've been installing Weblogic 9.1 on our Red Hat (CentOS 4) server. After good experiences with BEA Weblogic local on my Windows machine I'm trying it on the server.
But after installing Weblogic and setting a default domain (automagicly generated) and trying to logon to the Admin Console I run into a problem.
When I login with false ID I it gives me a security alert and doesn't let me in, but if I login with the correct name+password it doesn't say anything but redirects me to the same login-page again...
I'm out of ideas on what it could be, and the biggest problem is that its the default domain it creates when I run the bin. Any ideas on what settings could do this?

Ah, found some more information!
When I try to login with the ip adres it works but not when I use the hostname. Now I have a good indication on where to look to solve the problem.

  • Problems with weblogic clustering in 6.1 sp3

    We have spent a lot of time trying to get our application deployed to
              a cluster using weblogic 6.1 sp3 and we consistently receive a failure
              when we attempt to start the managed server. This was not a problem
              with weblogic sp1--we got our application to deploy to the cluster
              successfully; although there was another weblogic bug there with
              clients accessing EJB clusters--we won't go into that here...
              We have tried this on both a Windows 2000 machine and an HP machine
              running weblogic sp3. The same error occurs on both platforms.
              The error in deploying our application to the cluster against weblogic
              sp3 looks to have to do with our custom security realm. Inside our
              custom realm we make use of a configurable providerUrl which we set to
              the cluster address/port. The custom realm makes a call where it
              passes in the providerUrl to:
                   weblogic.management.Helper.getMBeanHome(..., providerUrl,...)
              When we have our providerUrl set to the cluster address/port--e.g.,
                   t3://clustermember1:7001
              and attempt to start the managed server we get the error:
              Starting WebLogic Server ....
              Connecting to http://adminserver:7117...
              The WebLogic Server did not start up properly.

              When we have our providerUrl set to the admin server address--e.g.,
                   t3://adminserver:7117
              everything starts up fine.
              Does anyone know why this would work on sp1 and not sp3 of weblogic
              6.1?
              We verified that all passwords are correct and everything else we
              could determine--any ideas would be helpful.
              We don't want the providerUrl to point at our admin server, we want it
              to point at the cluster address/port.

              Thanks for any help.

    Bottom line:
              In our custom realm we were not handling user guest correctly. Even if you
              have guest user disabled, Weblogic seems to have hard-coded guest to
              send messages to the cluster every-so-often. Not sure there--couldn't get
              an answer out of bea as to exactly why we see guest still being used...
              It seems that with sp3, the user guest interaction started happening earlier
              than it did with sp1, consequently making our realm code fail when trying to
              retrieve the guest user like someone we knew about in our system.
              Hence, our getUser and authUserPassword methods now return null for both
              users guest and system, making the secondary realm (file realm) be used to
              authenticate and resolve guest & system. BEA helped get our code fixed;
              however, we still don't have a lot of depth in understanding Weblogic
              server's use of guest...
              Apparently, in 7.x the guest & system user behavior and configuration is
              different also... We'll see when we start digging into that migration.

  • Problem with Weblogic Builder SP1

    I have a problem with Weblogic Builder SP1. I basically re-used my EJB deployment
    descriptors from WL5.1 in WL8.1. Before SP1, i have no problem loading my EJB
    in WB. But with SP1, WB throws weblogic.marathon.model.LoadFailureException.
    I re-attempted by jarring my EJB with WL5.1 descriptors and used my friend's WB
    (not SP1) to export new descriptors which I used to re-jar. This new EJB is again
    not recognised by WB SP1?
    What is wrong?

    The exception is as follows:

    I have a problem with weblogic.Deployer. My application deploys and works fine
    if I manually copy the ear or the exploded form into weblogic's applications\
    directory (hot deployment). But, if I use the weblogic.Deployer tool, it fails
    with the following exception. Does the deployer tool expect something in the ear
    (or exploded form) that I'm missing? Thanks in advance.

    Hi Deepak,
    I didn't understand the suggested resolution. Can you tell me what it means?
    However, I found a similar problem in the archives, so I tried from command line
    (outside ant) using "java weblogic.Delployer ...." and it worked! It doesn't work
    from ant. So, you think there's some conflict between my ant and weblogic's ant
    task "WLDdeploy"?
    Thanks,
    Vas

    Some of the following is going to use some technical terms — this area is inherently somewhat technical.
    If you don't understand some part of the following reply, please ask.
    Is this your own OS X Server system on your own network, or is this some other server within some larger organization?
    You're posting this in the OS X Server forum, which is a software package that allows OS X systems to provide web-based and many other services; to become servers.
    If it's your OS X Server on your network, then the network and DNS configurations are suspect, or the server is somehow malfunctioning or misconfigured.   This is unfortunately fairly common, as some folks do try to avoid setting up DNS services.
    If it's a larger organization and somebody else is managing the server and the network, then you'll probably need to contact the IT folks for assistance; to learn the network setup and DNS requirements, and if there's a problem with the server itself.
    The basic web URL "hyper link IP address path" — without using DNS — usually looks something the following, where you'll need to replace 10.20.30.40 with the IP address of your server:
    http://10.20.30.40
    UptimeJeff has posted a URL that specifies the AFP file system; an OS X file share.  That's used if you're connecting to an Apple storage service somewhere on your network.  You might alternatively need to specify smb://10.20.30.40 or such, if it's a Windows file server.  (There can be additional requirements for connecting to Windows Server systems, too.)
    If there's local IT staff available here, please contact them for assistance.  If these are your own local systems and your own local OS X Server system, then some information on the server will be needed.  (If you're on a NAT'd network, you'll also need to get DNS services configured and working on your local OS X Server system and your network — you'll not be able to skip this step and reference ISP DNS servers here — or things can and usually will get weird.)

    I am receiving this same error.  I have these additional details:
    CS: COM Provider CLSID not specified or erroneous
    In my case, this is for a universe that I created in BOE XI R2 sp5.4 and migrated up to BOE XI 3.2 sp2.  This connection uses OLEDB.  I have the same situation with another universe that I migrated over that uses an ODBC connection and it works fine.
    In my case, I am not using OLAP.

  • Problems sending mail: some problem with the outgoing mail server SMTP?

    I can't send e mails: some problem with the outgoing mail server SMTP?

    I had this same problem with both my imac and mac book pro using hotmail via mac mail with bt as my internet provider. Suddenly 4 months ago out of nowhere i could receive emails but could not send them. I scoured all the threads followed all the fixes none of them worked. However I just phoned apple support and fixed it in a matter of minutes. I am SO happy. This is what the technician advised me:
    Go to your apple icon and scroll down to system preferences. Then dependant on what machine you have it is different for my imac and mac book pro click on either air port/wifi then the advanced tab in the bottom right hand corner. Then click on the DNS tab. Hit the + sign on the left hand side and type in 8.8.8.8 then hit the + sign again on the left hand side it will create a new line underneathe and type 8.8.4.4 then hit okay on the bottom right and then hit apply, again on the bottom right. Then send a test email to check but it should be fixed.
    Had to share this. Its been driving me mad for months.

  • Unable to edit the "Default Domain Controllers Policy" from a Server 2012 machine

    I am unable to edit the "Default Domain Controllers Policy" from a Server 2012 machine. The error message i recieve is:
    "Failed to open the group policy object.  You might not have the appropriate rights.  Details: The volume for a file has been externally altered so that the open file is no longer valid."
    The domain controllers are running Windows 2012 R2 upgraded from Windows 2008 R2, the domain functional level is Server 2012.
    I am able to edit the policy from both a Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 machine.
    The following post is identical however the fix for them does not work for me:

    Any ideas?

    Yes, the Unique ID is available on 2012 server

    This only affects the default domain controllers policy object
    Another user added to amins and tested has no effect
    It is the same on another server
    DCDiag passes all tests
    Thanks for all your help so far

  • Mime type problems with Weblogic Server 6.0

    I'm having problems getting mime types to work with Weblogic 6.0.
    I modified my web.xml file to include the following entry:
    <web-app>
    <mime-mapping>
    <extension>xls</extension>
    <mime-type>application/vnd.ms-excel</mime-type>
    </mime-mapping>
    </web-app>
    When I try to get a file that exist with the correct extension, excel never
    executes and I only get garbage in the screen. This use to work with
    Weblogic 5.1.
    This is what I'm trying in the url: http://localhost/book1.xls
    What I'm doing wrong? Is there any other way I can get an excell file to
    display in my browser?
    Thanks

    Works like charm for me.
    Did you put the file under default web app directory?

  • Problem with WebLogic 10.3.3, Apache 2.2.3 and WebLogic Apache proxy plugin

    I have a problem with using Apache 2.2.3 as a WebLogic SSL proxy. I have Apache 2.2 running and successfully configured an SSL cert, config in ssl.conf is...
    <VirtualHost secure.daftdonkey.com>
    # Setup SSL for secure.daftdonkey.com
    ServerName secure.daftdonkey.com
    SSLEngine On
    SSLCertificateFile /oracle/secure/secure.daftdonkey.com.crt
    SSLCertificateKeyFile /oracle/secure/secure.daftdonkey.com.key
    SSLCertificateChainFile /oracle/secure/gd_bundle.crt
    </VirtualHost>
    This works fine
    Now I want Apache to proxy requests to my WebLogic Server and secure them over SSL as well
    e.g. a request to https://secure.daftdonkey.com/service goes to https://weblogic.internal.site/service
    I have downloaded and configured the weblogic module and tested it handling traffic for HTTP and that worked, then I switched the WebLogic module to use SSL.
    LoadModule weblogic_module modules/mod_wl.so
    <IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
    WebLogicHost weblogic.internal.site
    WebLogicPort 16101
    Debug ALL
    SecureProxy ON
    WLSSLWallet /oracle/secure/my-wallet
    WLLogFile /tmp/wl-proxy.log
    </IfModule>
    <Location /service>
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    </Location>
    Starting Apache throws the error. I think this is my main problem, i've searched support.oracle.com and not found anything.

    I found the answer to this. The documentation is not clear enough, LD_LIBRARY_PATH MUST be set and MUST have a pointer to the directory where the SSL .so modules are. I wrote up a blog article explaining the configuration and detailed this issue.

  • Oracle 8.1.5 database connection problem with WebLogic 5.1

    Hello,
    the NSAPI integration works, also the JSP files.
    But I have still problems with the Jdriver for my Oracle 8.1.5.
    I get the message :
    Failed to invoke startup class
    weblogic.jdbc.common.internal.JdbcStartup=weblogic.jdbc.common.internal.JdbcStartup
    when the WebLogic Server is started.
    Any ideas or hints about that?
    Thanks in advance

    Post the full stacktrace here
    Also you might want to post jdbc related questions to weblogic.developer.

  • OBIEE 11.1.1.6 problems with weblogic user

    Hi,
    I have set my Active Directory provider access in OBIEE 11.1.1.6, it's working fine for all my users in my active directory, but I can't open my repository online or access answers with weblogic user. My control flag is optional btw.
    Anybody knows why and how to solve it?
    Great thanks

    Hello,
    Which authenticator provider is set to optional .? and which one is set to sufficient .?
    Also are you using the BISystemUser (default weblogic one) as the trusted user or have you created a user named BISystemUser in AD. ?
    Let us know how you configured .?
    Thanks,
