Problems with installation under Linux

I try to install Portal 3.0.6 under linux, but it always says on the end of the install that the SSOHash class was not loaded and that the WWSEC_ENABLER_CONFIG_INFO$ table is empty. The install l9g shows a message that it couldn;t allocate space in lrage_pool, but I allocated much more space in this pool than the requirements said and it still doesn't work. The installation is mess,
Anybody has a clue?
Thanx!

loadjava expects ksh to be on the system. Obviously, you won't have ksh on your Linux box.
Perform a symbolic link from bash to ksh and it'll work just fine.

  • Problems with dbx under linux

    Hi everybody,
I'm using Oracle Solaris Studio 12.2 under Linux, and i'm trying to debug a Fortran application with dbx.
When I use it to step through the code, there always pops up a messagebox that says
dbx: internal error: cannot convert 'AGGREGATE' to 'ARRAY' ...
dbx: internal error: cannot convert 'AGGREGATE' to 'ARRAY' ...
dbx: internal error: cannot convert 'AGGREGATE' to 'ARRAY' ...
dbx: internal error: cannot convert 'AGGREGATE' to 'ARRAY' ...
    too many errors
after a random number of steps (perhaps after about 10 steps). Then, the execution stops, and I'm forced to restart the process, with a breakpoint somewhere further down the code.
Does anybody know what I could do to prevent that from happening?
    Thanks in advance,
    Christoph

    Hi Isaac,
thanks for your reply. I'm using the debugging from the studio.
Unfortunately, the code I'm working on is a CFD program of some 100.000 lines, and I think I'd have to post the whole thing. I've been trying to reproduce the problem with a model program, but to no avail: dbx/SunStudio works like a charm with every program I write myself.
It is definitely a problem with evaluating local variables: If I watch a debugging tab different from "variables", it doesn't crash; neither does it while stepping through the main program. It only crashes somewhere deep in some modules, where pointers on big allocated arrays are passed around in the seventh or so stack level. Anyway, it seems to be more a problem with the code than with a particular debugger: I've tried gdb, and it shows similar problems.

  • Problem with installation on LINUX

    Hi,
i´m trying install jdev on linux (suse 9.0). I set path for jdk a jvm and when run jdev.exe, i get this exception:
java.lang.InternalError: Can't connect to X11 window server using ':0.0' as the value of the DISPLAY variable.
Can you help with this problem?
    Thanks

Try executing "xhost +" before running JDeveloper. Did you login via XDM as a different user than you are using to run JDev? That's normally the cause for these X permission issues.
    Hope this helps,

  • Problems with DAQmxBase under Linux/C

I'm attempting to use "C" to write code for the PCI-MIO-16XE-10/PCI-6030E DAQ interface card. I have it connected to the SC-2345 signal conditioning module with a SCC-TC02 thermocouple unit plugged into "Dev/ai0". The thermocouple reference circuit is connected to "Dev/ai8." When I run the example code for acquireNScansThermocouple I get a -1 return code. Debug statements show that the first call, DAQmxErrChk(DAQmxBaseCreateTask) is being executed, but the next statement, DAQmxErrChk(DAQmxBaseCreateAIThrmcplChan) fails.
By way of further information, the argument to the call is: DAQmxBaseCreateAIThrmcplChan (taskHandle, chan, "", min, max, DAQmx_Val_DegC, DAQmx_Val_K_Type_TC, DAQmx_Val_Chan, 0, "Dev1/ai8").
Although I have not checked the results fully, I can run the acquire1Scan example, and it seems to be performing properly, so it appears that the hardware is functioning properly. I have not yet tried to match the voltage output results to the temperature that I would expect the thermocouple to indicate.
I would greatly appreciate any indication of just what I can do next.

Welcome to the NI discussion forums!
Sorry, I cannot answer your question, but I would like to point out that you probably posted your question on the wrong board. (This part is for feedback on the discussion forums).
There is no specific board for Linux or C and maybe there should be?
Look around a bit in all of the NI Discussion Forums. More appropriate would be maybe e.g. Multifunction DAQ depending on the main focus of your question.
Hopefully, you'll get quick help once you post in a more suitable area. Good luck!.

  • Problem with clob_write under client 9.2.0.6: UnsatisfiedLinkError

    Hi all,
I'm running Oracle client 9.2.0.4 on Windows XP and Java 1.4.1_3.
Writing or reading clob's works pretty well.
As i tried to update to Oracle client 9.2.0.6, i got the error
Communication failed: java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: clob_write when i tried to write a clob. The same error appears when i tried to read a clob.
Is there a specific problem with clobs under this client?
All other JDBC operations work as good as before.
    Thanks.

    Here is another hint.
In your classpath, use the jdbc driver that's under your oracle installation to which you are trying to connect to (ie, <ORACLE_HOME>\ora92\jdbc\lib\ojdbc14.jar).
I had the same problem in 9.2.0.6 and its gone when I replaced the ojdbc14.jar. I copied the ..\ora92\jdbc\lib\ojdbc14.jar to my java client program's classpath, and ran the java client without getting the UnsatisfiedLinkError.
It looks like the ocijdbc9.dll under ora92\bin has to match correctly with the jdbc drivers you would be using. I got this idea from this link:
    http://episteme.arstechnica.com/groupee/forums/a/tpc/f/6330927813/m/705001068631/inc/-1

  • Problems with installation / de-installation of WAS AS 6.20

Problems with installation / de-installation of WAS AS 6.20
    Hello,
is anyone able to help me ?
The installation (started from setup on cd-1 kernel) of sapdb ends by 30 % with following massage:
    start massage:
    Warning: adaextractlctool_nt_ada InternallnstallationDo
    SAPCAR returns with error 29.
    Error:  adaextractlctool_nt_ada InternallnstallationDo
    Phase failed.
    Error: Main {}
    Installation aborted.
    end massage.
massage above percent-banner on the left down-side:
    no R3SETUP connected.
In the dos-window in background have been a lot of status-lines during extraction of sabdb-files. Also there have been a successful-massage:
"installation of sap db server finished successfully...." l.
The massage above was shown direct after the massage: "Extracting SAP DB Tools Software"
The Loop-back adapter is already installed (was the first ein did) and the files in win-folder 'hosts' and 'service' are correct (IP and so on)
    my system:
    Acer Aspire 5100
    Ram 1 GB
HD 160 GB (140 GB frei)
    Win XP prof.
How can I solve the installationproblem ?
I think, I have to clean my system before starting a new installation-try, because there are already entries in my win-start-button:
    a) SAP DB Manager (but behind only a html-Link / no entry DeInstall)
    b) a second entry  SAP Front End (also behind just a html-link / no deinstall-button)
Under system/controll panel -> software are no entries. So, I`m not able to deinstall the sapdb by win-controll-panel.
And what is with registry-entries ? How can I delete the right entries in the registry. I dont know how to find them.
Another way I tried: on the  SAP-CD 1 (kernel) with the file resume_setup.bat I get the same abort during installation I described at the top.
Please, I need help, because I need the system as 6.20 for a trainning.
    Much thanks,

  • Problem with installation and activation

Hi, I have a problem with the installation of Adobe Muse.
I had a free 30-days trial, when it was over I bought the product ($ 13 per month),
I installed the program again and I see the same window with the finished Trials
and it requires a serial number and does not allow to enter the program.
I installed the program on your PC wife without any problems, but I can not install it on a laptop.
I have a laptop with Windows 8 operating system.
    What I've done:
    1. Uninstalled the free program,
    2. check the connection to the Internet,
    3. has installed a new program from the official website adobe.com,
    4. Remove the line for the activation of the hosts file and resave the file,
    5. turned off the brandmower,
    6. rebooted.
I can't get support for a 3 days, is it the most terrible support I've ever seen? I dunno

  • Problem with XML on Linux

    hi everybody,
I've a big problem with XML on Linux, in details I see my program stopping on Linux at the instruction
    XMLReader xr = XMLReaderFactory.createXMLReader("org.apache.crimson.parser.XMLReaderImpl");
and it's strange because on Windows it runs and there aren't problems about permissions on files, does anyone knows what to do?
    thanks in advance!

What happens on that line? I'm assuming you get some kind of error or exception.
Make sure the JAR file for Crimson is in your classpath.

  • Problems with ViaVoice under Leopard, especially key mapping problems

ViaVoice's behavior has changed considerably under Leopard. First I will discuss the key mapping problem, since I'm eagerly looking for an answer to this problem. At the end of this post, I will voice some of the other problems I've experienced for those who may be interested. The key mapping problem may be specific to the fact that I use a foreign keyboard with a US version of ViaVoice.
    INTRO:
I have used ViaVoice on my Mac for years, more or less without problems (ViaVoice's bugginess is notorious).
Those who know ViaVoice will know that one has two general options for dictation. One can dictate into ViaVoice's so-called SpeakPad, which allows special formatting, editing and dictation error correction within the dictated text, or one can dictate into "external" software such as Microsoft Word, in which case ViaVoice just sends a string of characters to that software. SpeakPad appears to make strong use of the operating system's built-in functionality for character formatting, document formatting, etc.
    *MY PROBLEM*
I have a German keyboard on my PowerBook, yet dictate in US English. When I dictated into SpeakPad under Tiger, all characters appeared correctly. However, when I dictated into Microsoft Word using Tiger, I had to switch the keyboard mapping from German to US to get all characters (that means including the characters that are located at different positions on a German keyboard than they are on a US keyboard such as y, z, apostrophes and parentheses) to appear correctly.
Under Leopard, things have changed. Now it doesn't matter whether I dictate into SpeakPad or Word; the results are the same and many characters do not appear correctly.
If set to a German keyboard, y and z appear as expected. To name a few irregularities:
    "(" appears as ")"
    ")" appears as "="
    apostrophes appear as "#" and
    ";" appears as ","
If set to a US keyboard, y and z are interchanged. "(" and ")" appear as expected. Apostrophes appear as "\" and ";" appears as ","
By comparison, if typed (as opposed to dictated, as in the examples above) "correctly" (i.e. based on the letters printed on the keyboard) on a German keyboard set to imitate a US keyboard:
    y and z are interchanged
    apostrophes appear as "|"
    "(" appears as "*"
    ")" appears as "(" and
";" appears as the symbol for "less than"
Since I don't have a US keyboard, I can't say how it would behave if set to imitate a German keyboard, i.e. if there's a correlation to the results I get when I dictate.
Since I was previously able to dictate correctly into SpeakPad by setting the keyboard to "German" and into Word by setting the keyboard to "US," I presume that this is a problem in Leopard, not ViaVoice.
*OTHER PROBLEMS WITH VIAVOICE UNDER LEOPARD*
In addition to the aforementioned key mapping problems (that may be specific to those of us with foreign keyboards), ViaVoice appears to have lost considerable functionality in Leopard. I cannot access SpeakPad's Preferences and the correction window. Moreover, the traffic-light like window buttons have disappeared from the VoiceCenter (although they work if you click where they should be). SetupAssistent appears to function.
I've written to Nuance about these problems, but have little hope that they will invest the time in producing a patch since they haven't released any updates since 2003.

    Thrums1,
I've never had to "register" ViaVoice after updating the system. I thus suspect you haven't fully followed my above, three-step advice (particularly step 3).
    1) Reinstall ViaVoice from CD.
    2) Update to the latest version (using the patch downloadable from Nuance's website).
    3) Replace the “temp” and “users” folders (in the "ViaVoice" folder at the upper level of your home directory) by a previous copy thereof. When I say previous copy, I mean a copy from when ViaVoice was still working properly, e.g. a copy from when it was running under Tiger.
As I said, I've gotten ViaVoice to survive several system updates by following the above steps. To my knowledge, the last step is critical since it saves you from having to reconfigure ViaVoice under the new operating system (in this case Leopard). I suspect that ViaVoice is crashing on your system because it's trying to start some module of the SetUpAssistant that is incompatible with Leopard (as many are). If you instead use old copies of the "temp" and "users" folders (from the previous system), then ViaVoice doesn't have to go through the initial "registration" process; ViaVoice doesn't need the SetUpAssistant; and all is (more or less) fine.
    Good luck!
BTW, to my knowledge, Dictate only runs on Intel Macs. It thus won't run on a G4 iBook, just as it won't run on my PowerBook G4.

Re: Hey, I had met a problem with installation. Can any one help me?
This worked for an English version and the concept should work with all Adobe programs - new or old (hopefully in any language). My guess is that you have/had an older version of Acrobat/Reader on your computer hard drive that needs to be *completely* removed first. Uninstall the new (and any old) Acrobat; then try using the "kb2..." guideline link below before reinstalling the new Acrobat. I am including the lengthy instructions in order to help others with more extensive installation problems. Good luck!
I live on a fixed income and use CS for a hobby. I had problem installing Adobe Creative Suite (CS1) to Windows 7 64-bit Pro on my new computer. Also installed Adobe Photoshop LR3. What I learned: All Adobe products (Flash, Acrobat/Reader, Photoshop, Creative Suites, etc.) leave a VERY pervasive footprint on your hard drive. Logic finally worked for me.... think of building a house; there is an order you have to do things in. First, you have to clean the area before laying the foundation; then you have to build the framework before you put the roof on. You cannot install an older program over ANY newer program; and you will sometimes have a problem installing a newer program containing Flash, Reader, etc. unless you "erase" the older versions of Flash, Reader beforehand. If installing older programs, do a Custom/Manual install; do not install older versions of Flash, Reader, etc.  packaged with your Adobe software.
SOLUTION (not easy, but it works):
I first tried this; it did not solve my problem (but, if applicable, may help others).  http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Make-older-programs-run-in-this-version-of-Win dows
Before doing anything, make document and any database/presets/cache back-ups beforehand (keep notes on their designated location*); manually create a System Restore point. (Be prepared to reinstall Windows if necessary - I didn't have to.)
Completely and meticulously eradicate (clean) your hard drive of ALL Adobe programs [uninstall, remove remaining folders, and remove only the registry entries that have the Adobe name attached (unless you are an expert and fully understand the other entries)]. Use this as a guideline  http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/400/kb400769.html
Do a Custom/Manual reinstall of all your Adobe products *in order of release dates* (OLDEST first).... do not include Reader, Flash, etc. If your CD will not automatically run at this point, click "Open folder to view files" (use Computer/Windows Explorer, if necessary). Click "Adobe Creative Suite (or your desired program) ==> Setup.exe" (IMPORTANT: Make sure that Reader, Flash, etc. are unchecked.)
After each of your desired Adobe programs are installed, test to insure they boot up. Then download the latest Reader, Flash, etc. apps and install them (I did this in order of release date - oldest first). Do test boot(s) again.
Copy/Paste your document and any database/presets/cache back-ups into the appropriate folders (*this will vary depending on your programs and your filing system).
It has been four weeks and all my Adobe programs work flawlessly - system is stable, no problems!
