Problems with MyFaces on WebSphere 5.1.1

Hello!
I want to run MyFaces 1.1.1 on WebSphere 5.1.1 but have problems.
The Application is not even starting.
The MyFaces website sais that it runs with Websphere 5.1.2...
Is it right that MyFaces does not run with WebSphere 5.1.1 or is there any
trick?

When them put version 5.1.2 is because of WSAD not for WebSphere AppServer.
Just for a test try to do what is in the link: http://wiki.apache.org/myfaces/Websphere_Installation.
I really won�t apply this in my production environment, because of a possibility of contract in changing WebSphere default libraries.

h:form problem with myfaces 1.1.4

Hi,
I have a jsf page whose body is wrapped by tag <h:form>. This seems to be necessary with myfaces 1.1.4.
My page contains:
1 - A "sign out" commandLink which simply logs out current logged user
2 - an inputText tag, bound to a validation method of a backinbg bean, that verifies if inserted text is a valid email or not.
When I insert an invalid email address in the input text and press "sign out", the "email address not valid" message it's showed, and signout performs only when I insert a valid address!
This is not good, as signiing out must not have any relation with form validation.
Can anyone help me ?

A form is required around any input and command components (ones that need a HTML form rendered to the client). You can have multiple forms per page.
When the user does something that submits the page, only the surounding form is actually submitted. So in your example you want to use seperate forms for the logout link and the email input.
So for example:
<h:form id="logoutForm">
... logout link here ...
</h:form>
<h:form id="emailForm">
... email input stuff here ...
</h:form>

Seriuos problem with myfaces

I have a menu with item and subitem.
If a click more that once in the same request on the links of menu, application starts to have an incorrect behaviour and everything can happen!
Some menu items are lost, and if I go on application stop to answer to my requests and crash.
I am using the last release of myfaces, so It shouldn't be so buggy!
I am also using the option
<context-param>
<param-name>javax.faces.STATE_SAVING_METHOD</param-name>
<param-value>server</param-value>
</context-param>and links have immediate = "true".
I read that if I pass to client saving method maybe things goes well, but I don't want to have large client page in the browsers.
I think they should advise me about these big JSF problems.
Now I develped an application with JSF and maybe I will passo to Struts now, it is not so pretty but it works.
Some other people found this problems?

I also had the exact same problem. It happens as soon as you start using the "immediate" property. I tried using the latest JSF RI (1.1) and it also made problems. As soon as I switched to: CLIENT all the problems gone . . .
I advise you to use CLIENT in the mean time. Then, in the future switch to SERVER.

Performance problems with MyFaces 1.1.3 in Weblogic 8.1SP3

Hi,
 we developed a JSF based application using Apache myFaces 1.1.3 and Tomcat 5.0.27 as development container. The application works very well with excellent performance in tomcat. But when deployed to weblogic 8.1SP3 the performance gets really really poor. Just to give you an example: A pure navigation task between two JSP pages (without any additional functionality) takes more than 6 seconds - in tomcat this took a split second.
 Does anyone can figure out where this discrepancy may come from?

 see text below for some fragments of the BEA support answer to this problem:
 "Weblogic version 6.x and 7.x are not supporting JSF's. [...] The present Weblogic version 8.1 supports, but not all service pack. Only SP4 supports that too in the Weblogic WORKSHOP only, since this is Struts oriented Framework. [...] Weblogic 9.0 supports JSF(Java Server Faces)".
 So this problem has nothing to do with the implementation of myFaces ...

Problem with JSF components

I am having problem with myfaces tomhawk components in a portal environment
They work fine as a standalone web application
When we make it a portlet, they render properly, but the pagination and links in the calendar components are not working
They submit the page to the server, but does nothing

Problem with configuring the application in websphere

We have taken the back up of war file which was working and have deployed the same,We are using websphere as the application server due to some problem with the configuration we are getting the following error when we are trying to run the application.

I have been "playing" with section you mentioned since yesterday, but I could reach my goal :(
An example of the problem is as following:
Manager 1 is added to both “Project Managers” and “Resource Managers”. Accordingly he is added to “My Projects” category permission.
Manager2.TeamLead1 (not a descendent of Manager 1) is added to only “Project Managers” and accordingly he is added to “My Projects” category permission.
I want (Manager2.TeamLead1)’s projects to viewable only for his Manager 2 (and the Director), not for Manager 1, because the Manager1 is not responsible for managing his work
How can I achieve that ?? :)

Problem in running TreeTable component with Myfaces

Hi,
I am trying to run treeTable component of adf with Myfaces.
The tag is rendered but not functioning properly.
It shows one level expanded as mentioned below :
> H1 // H1 has 2 related records
+> H2 // H2 has 3 related records
+> H3 //H3 has 1 related record
but when I click on H2 then It is not expanding.

The treeTable component is working.
The problem is due bcoz of following code::

when I comment the above mentioned column the page is rendered and treeTabel is working properly.
Can anybody help why the above mentioned tags are doing problem?

Websphere 6: JNDI problem with Sping - urgent.

I have my cJSC project working fine with JNDI on my local sun app server. However when deploying to websphere I am getting problems.
Obviously websphere is different setup and I have had to add the following to the web.xml to get a datasource

Anybody used JSC and Websphere with JNDI? I go live next week and don't want to have to configure a context file each time for production.

J2ee agent 2.2 configuration problem with Websphere Portal 5.1

I am trying to configure j2ee agent 2.2 with Websphere Portal server.
I have followed the document "Sun Java SystemAccess Manager
PolicyAgent 2.2 Guide for IBM WebSphere Portal Server 5.1.0.2"

Also the security on app server has been enabled and is talking to LDAP.
My aim here is to enable application server (portal server) to autheticate requests.

From whatever analysis I have done so far, I believe this issue is related to the personal certificate for sun one webserver (on which access manager & LDAP are installed) not registered with the application server (portal server).
I am not sure about the way I go by solving the issue.

I am getting error as follows in the webserver error log:-
Error receiving request from 172.23.213.75 (SSL_ERROR_CERTIFICATE_UNKNOWN_ALERT: SSL peer had some unspecified issue with the certificate it received)
Although I can get into am console but with https://apollo.maxnewyorklife.com/amconsole
Tried the same thing, but couldnt resolve it. I will give it another go.
Generally I am getting same error again and again.
In my amWebsphere log file of j2ee agent (under root\am_wps_agent\agent_001\logs\debug) error I get.....

MyFaces and Websphere 5.1.0.5

Hi. I'm having problems getting MyFaces to work with Websphere. When I deploy the exact same war file in tomcat it works fine, but when I try to start the application in websphere it won't start. As near as I can tell it is a class not found error that occurs within the org.apache.myfaces.webapp.StartupServletContextListener listener class since a classnotfound exception is logged in the ffdc directory every time I try to start the application. When I remove
<listener>
<listener-class>org.apache.myfaces.webapp.StartupServletContextListener</listener-class>
</listener>
from the web.xml the application will start, but of course then any faces pages do not work.
What I would like to know is
1. Has anyone made MyFaces work on this version of Websphere? I see that Websphere 5.1.2 specifically is on the compatability list. Do I need to upgrade to that version to use MyFaces or should it work on other versions as well?
2. Any suggestions to help me out?

When them put version 5.1.2 is because of WSAD not for WebSphere AppServer.
Just for a test try to do what is in the link: http://wiki.apache.org/myfaces/Websphere_Installation.
I really won�t apply this in my production environment, because of a possibility of contract in changing WebSphere default libraries.

I think the installation of planning on Vista is difficult. As some of the files doesn't support even i am tired of doing that.
But tell me one thing have you installed all other products , I mean Essbase, (server, client) , AAS and Shared services.
Are they working good .
I have formatted my system to XP and installed everything , but the problem is when i install planning it prompts me that IIS 5 should be greater other wise EPM will not install...
there are lot of things with planning 1) i can't datasource as it is not highlighting when we configure with Shared services
2) It does not create product instance .
If any one can fix this thing by giving me a suggestions.

Problem with Drag and drop in panel dashboard

I am having problem with drag and drop in panel dashboard.
I will explain what i am doing.
I am using Oracle three column template in First region i am having a table that showing all customer.
I drag one record from my table and drop it on customer info (CIF) page on second region it is working fine.
my CIF page has a dashboard with 6 panel box. i am showing 6 different jsff in 6 panel box.

Problems with Java and Business Objects

Hello everybody, I'm new in BusinessObjects/Crystal Report. Now, I have some problems with Business Objects for Java (Business Objects XI Release 2 Developer). 1) I create a report in the report designer. This report has a parameterfield. Before I run this report within a jsp web application I want fill the parameterfield with some values from the database. I found the following code snippet for this problem in your forum. But it don't works right, because it occurs a simple input field instead of a combo box with my database values. Where is my mistake? I need the combo box! Trying to open a streamed PDF in an IFRAME in Internet Explorer 9 on my Win7 64bit machine.
This results in the following dialog:

The PDF is streamed (not read from disc) from a servlet in our Java WebSphere environment and the call looks like this:

The Servlet sets content-type header application/pdf and content-length and writes the bytes to the buffer.
Does the error dialog even come from Acrobat? When the dialog opens there is no active AcrReader process visible in task manager.

Nothing happens when you launch Acrobat 30 days after installing a CS6 suite.
Solutions
Important: Perform the solutions below in order. Do not continue further if an earlier solution resolves the problem.
Solution1: Install the patch for Acrobat installed as part of a CS6 (Windows Only)
1.   Log in to your Windows computer as an Administrator.
2.   Click the following link to download the patch file:
Acrofix.zip
3.   When prompted "Do you want to open or save this file?,” click Open.
4.   Extract the file. The location varies depending on your operating system and the utility.
5.   Double-click the extracted Acrofix.exe to begin the execution.
6.   If the execution is successful, Command Prompt closes automatically.
7.   When the execution is complete, launch Acrobat.

Solution2: Install the patch for Acrobat installed as part of a CS6 using Command Prompt (Windows Only)
1. Run the Command Prompt as an Administrator.
2. Navigate to the location of the extracted hot fix in Solution 1 (Step 4).
3. Type Acrofix.exe to execute it.
4. If the execution is successful, Command Prompt shows Exit Code:0
5. When the execution is complete, launch Acrobat.
