Problems with new exchange server

I have a brand new 2012 server running exchange 2013. Ever since we installed this exchange server, it has been a huge pain. We've had it up and running perfectly one day, then the next it constantly spits out issues from users about not being able to connect
to the proxy server. I've had times where OWA and ECP are accessible and functional, and times where they are not (blank page).
Most recent iteration of issues. This morning everything was working fine (and was for a few days minus the fact the clients would randomly disconnect for at most 10-15 seconds at a time before reconnecting). I left for lunch, and came back to all outlook
clients receiving a:
There is a problem with the proxy certificate. The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the target.
I was also unable to log in to the OWA or the ECP. (would login, but give me a blank page).
After some research  that led me to http://sumoomicrosoft.blogspot.de/2012/11/exchange-2013-emc-blank-page.html I was finally able to restore connectivity to the OWA and ECP. Fortunately there arent many users here today, so the only user around is
able to function off the OWA. However, this did not resolve the outlook clients.
It may be obvious, but I am not an exchange administrator. My boss sold them exchange 2013 because they demanded hosting onsite rather than through 365 and now Im having to deal with the fallout. If anyone with some exchange experience can give some advice,
I will give you all the information you ask to resolve this issue once and for all.

Well,this sounds like certificate issue.
First of all,if you are able to login to ecp please login and navigate to Servers - certificate.
Do you have only default certs?By default there is only 3 certs (if CAS and Mailbox is installed on same server)
If so,then you need to issue a new cert, either through 3rd part ( like godaddy ) or using domain CA to issue one.
Here is some guide: http://exchangeserverpro.com/create-ssl-certificate-request-exchange-2013/
Or if prefere VDO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eukMn9F0I-8
Remember that name of the certificate MUST contain FQDN name of your exchange CAS servers.
Subject name should be the name of your domain.
Recomended is to use 3rd part certificate authority like godaddy.
When cert is created, check your iis that the new cert is bounded to the site (default web site) on your Exchange servers.
Please mark as helpful if you find my contribution useful or as an answer if it does answer your question. That will encourage me - and others - to take time out to help you. Thank you! Off2work

  • SFTP problems with new connection/server

We are moving to a new server and have decided to use sFTP this time around. We have a Windows 2012 R2 Server, and are running Contribute CS5 (with No CPS). My sFTP works great using winSCP, but when I go to set up the connection in Contribute I am getting error messages after I hit the point of selecting the folder. It pops up "Server gave an unknown response...", then when you click okay it says that Administrative settings are invalid, Contribute needs remove them including users and roles. Do you want to continue? If you say yes, it throws a native exception then seems to have some pop-up that I cannot reach, thus locking the software. There are no Administrative settings written to the server, although the tmp folders get written. We are completely stumped here. I can't even locate the log files that I used to but we are using CMTrace which gives us some data, but not enough. Suggestions please?

  • IPhone 2.0 doesn't work with my exchange server

My tech support guys have been working on my iPhone for an entire day and couldn't get it to work with the server. They are telling me that the phone isn't compatible with the exchange server and it would require an entire overhaul of our server and reconfiguration to get it to work. I thought the new iPhone was supposed to be so easy to use. I am so ready to ditch my blackberry and so very disappointed that I can't get the iPhone to work with our server. Macintosh support was completely useless to help figure out this problem- as they said they don't offer support to third party software- yet this phone is supposed to work with the Microsoft Exchange Server?! Can anyone offer any help?
Below is the explanation my tech support gave me:
I wanted to reach out to you to update you with your iPhone working on the peacock exchange. After spending considerable time with both AT&T and Macintosh, getting the phone to operate with exchange as easy as Macintosh advertises, has ended in a failure. Your phone device itself, is properly updated and has all the correct settings. Where the problem lies for you is on the Microsoft server end. This is where the server will have to have additional software and updates installed which would effect and change the peacock network environment. This can be potentially accomplished, however it will need to be evaluated for the additional costs and potential risks to the server and environment. That’s why BlackBerry is so popular with business networks, because it does not affect the Microsoft Exchange mail services in any shape or form. Blackberry runs on its own server service which acts as the bridge to communicate with the Microsoft service.
AT&T was very helpful and tried everything they could to aid us. Macintosh on the other hand, was not very helpful. After a few unsuccessful attempts, Macintosh just came out and said that they do not support 3rd party software (i.e Microsoft Products). You can give Macintosh a try, and see if you end with better results.

Actually Blackberry has two options, one where they pull from your server and then push it to your phone as described. Alternatively you can install their software on your server to relay. Both require additional services, software and fees. Instead the iPhone uses the ActiveSync included in the Exchange server, which is the same protocol used to communicate with Windows Mobile based devices.

Essentially Apple does not configure Microsoft Exchange for your admins. We do provide a list of what versions of ActiveSync and which ActiveSync features we support. However, ActiveSync is part of the Microsoft Exchange server maintained and configured by your Exchange server admins.
    Hope this helps,

  • How can I get 'Mac mail' to work with PC exchange server

My employers have just upgraded to a new Exchange server and now mail won't work on my mac. The only option I have been given is to use Outlook web access, but it is not ideal for my working needs. The sticking point is that mail wants to connect via IMAP, but the server isn't configured for this. I used to be set up as a POP3 account, but this is not longer an option with our administrators. Is there any way I can continue to use 'Mac Mail'?

  • Intermittent proxy error "There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate. Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server "

    Hi all,
From time to time (at least once a day), the following message pops up on the user's screen:
"There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate. Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server . Error Code 80000000)."
If we click "OK" it goes away and everything continues to work although sometimes Outlook disconnects. It is quite annoying...
    Any ideas?
    Thank you in advance

    Hi,
For the security alert issue, I'd like to recommend you check the name in the alert windows, and confirm if the name is in your certificate.
Additionally, to narrow down the cause, when the Outlook client cannot connect again, I recommand you firstly check the connectivity by using Test E-mail AutoConfiguration. For more information, you can refe to the following article:

  • There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate. The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the target site "Mailserver"

    Good day Guys
First of all I am not an Exchange Expert, and I might be asking a very stupid question, but please bare with me. :)
While I was on leave our Mail server fell over and The company got a Specialist to help out for the time being.
We where\are on Microsoft Exchange 2007 , which Fell over, and the specialist was able to recover as much data as he could.
They then installed Exchange 2013 and tried to migrate everything from 2007 to 2013 and not everything migrated over.
But the problem is, Outlook Anywhere was enable on 2007 and worked a 100% (before the disaster)
With Exchange 2013 I get the following error message when trying to connect With Outlook 2013, using an external connection:
"There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate. The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the target site "Mailserver"
Outlook is unable to connect to the Proxy server. (Error Code 0)"
Has anyone had the Similar when migrating over from 2007 to 2013 or is this an Issue on IIS and nothing to do with Exchange migration?
Your assistance will be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
Firstly, I would suggest we use Exchange 2013 FE as the Outlook Anywhere proxy server.
For the certificate issue, it mostly occurs because the host name that Outlook are trying to access does not match the certificate SAN. Please check with this point. If they do not match, you
can change the host name by referring to the following article:

  • Logon problem with oracle management server

I have problem with Oracle Management Server when I connect to the OMS message comes
    The exception (java.lang.NullPointerException) occurred.
if any body have any idea pls tell us

    Hi,
Oracle has changed the Enterprise Manager from version 1.5 to 2.0 .
With the new Oracle8i dataase server another service has been added.
If you want to user the OEM you have to install The Managment Server.
The Managment server has its own user and privileges and is recommended when using OEM.

  • Does Mail (3.6) work with MS Exchange Server 2003?

I'm struggling to get Mail to work with an exchange server.
Apparently, from the company's FAQs, we can hook up an iPhone, but alas not Mail.
With the iPhone directions, they talk about a "domain" field, which doesn't show up in Mail.
Any tips or clues would be appreciated.

I'm not entirely sure why this works now, but it does. Yay!
My problem evolved such that I, when I sent out through a different outgoing server, a recipient would see the address of the outgoing address, e.g. if I was using the gmail servers it would look like [email protected], and not the [email protected]
So as a work around I tested sending out messages with my [email protected] address in the Reply To field. That works.
Strangely, a Sent mailbox with for my [email protected] has appeared. Even messages that I've sent out with nothing in the Reply To field indicate that they've come from my [email protected] address.
    Keys to making it work:
    • Set up the exchange address as an IMAP account (not an exchange account)
    • Use the above referenced source forge tool
    • Partner with the company's IT people for whatever assistance they can offer
    • Use a Reply To field with the exchange, if required

  • How do I sync My Treo 700p with my exchange server in Outlook 2007

I am having trouble syncing my phone to Outlook ever since we installed an exchange server at the office.  It appears to be syncing, but the calendar and contact items do not come over.  It is as if it were still syncing to my old profile.  Any help would be appreciated.
Post relates to: Treo 700p (Sprint)

    VersaMail
Which type of VersaMail user are you?
I'm new to VersaMail and ...
My company uses Microsoft Outlook and supports Exchange ActiveSync
    My company uses Lotus Notes
My company or personal email provider uses POP3 or IMAP
I already use VersaMail on another device and ...I want to transfer my settings to my Treo 700p smartphone
Setting up a Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync account in VersaMail
If your corporate email system uses Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, you may be able to use Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync on your device. Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync works with the Calendar, Contacts, and VersaMail applications on your device to directly download calendar events, contact information, and email messages from the server - without going through your desktop PC.
First, get this information from your IT department:
Microsoft Exchange 2003 mail server If your corporate mail system does not use this type of server, you cannot use Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. Mail server name The name of the mail server that provides wireless access to your mail system. Some companies do not give out this information because they do not want wireless access to the system. If you cannot obtain the server name, you cannot use Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync. Proxy server Your IT department can tell you whether a proxy server is used and, if so, the name of the server. VPN requirement Some companies require a virtual private network (VPN) for accessing the server. Note: If you can't use Exchange ActiveSync because your email system doesn't meet all the requirements above, you may be able to use Good Mobile Messaging (formerly GoodLink) or Sprint PCS Business Connection instead.
If you set up VersaMail to work with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, Calendar and Contacts information automatically synchronizes directly with the Exchange server, along with email messages. You cannot choose to synchronize Calendar and Contacts info with Palm Desktop software or Outlook once you set up VersaMail to work with a Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync account. If you do not want to synchronize Calendar and Contacts info with the server, do not set up VersaMail to work with a Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync account.
Now you're ready to set up Exchange ActiveSync in VersaMail
On your device, press Power/End to wake up the screen, and then press Center to turn off Keyguard.
Press Applications and then select Email.
If you see the "Initial Setup" screen, select Continue to begin the setup.
    Enter the basic account information:
In the Account Name field, enter a descriptive name. This can be anything you wish, such as "Work Email."
Select the Mail Service pick list, and then select Exchange ActiveSync.
    Select Next.
Enter the account username and password:
Enter the username you use to access your email. In some systems, this is your Windows username (such as "John Doe"); in others, it's something else. Get this information from your IT department.,
Select the Password box, enter your email account password, and then select OK. Again, in some cases, this is your Windows password. Talk to IT about this password.
    Select Next.
Enter your email address and Exchange mail server name. Select Next.
    Select one of the following:
Done: Finish and go to the Inbox of the account you set up, where you can begin getting and sending email.
    Advanced: Set more mail options.
Test Settings: Ping the Exchange Server and find out if your settings are correct, without downloading email yet. You'll see a message that states whether the test was successful.
Optional: If you selected Advanced ...
    Select any of the following:
Port Number: By default, the port number setting is 443. You may need to change the port number if you choose not to retrieve incoming mail over a secure connection.
Use Secure Connection (SSL): By default, this box is checked, meaning you can retrieve incoming mail over a secure (Secure Sockets Layer, or SSL) connection. Uncheck the box if you do not want to receive email over an SSL connection.
    Select Next.
Optional: If you selected Advanced ...
If you use a proxy server, enter the proxy server name and port number, and check the box if your server requires authentication. Check with your system administrator for this information. When you have finished, select Done.
Optional: If your system requires a VPN connection for email ...
A VPN connection enables you to log in to your corporate mail server through the company’s firewall (security layer). You need a VPN if your device and your company’s server are located on opposite sides of the firewall.
Check with your company’s server administrator to see if a VPN is required for accessing the corporate network. Your device software installation CD may contain a link to download VPN software for the device. If it does not, you need to purchase third-party VPN software. Learn more and install VPN.
Once you download or install the software, you set up a VPN connection in Preferences on your device.
After you set up a VPN, you need to connect to it in order to retrieve email messages from your corporate mail server. You must do this each time you open VersaMail to retrieve messages from the server.
Go to Applications and select Email.
    Open the menus .
Select Options, and then select Connect VPN.
Enter the username and password you use to log in to the VPN.
    Select OK.

Had the same problem as you. App would terminate when launched.
Solution to working You Tube app:
    -Go to playstore
    - Uninstall app (it doesn't remove the app, only removes the update)
    - "Et Voila", working again.
This doesn't correct the problem, it's just a workaround for you to be able to use youtube app again.
    Hope it helped.
