Why do I get an "unable to connect - There may be a problem with the mail server or network." message from iCloud. I have verified the settings. I can access my iCloud account online but can't send or receive e-mail via the mail account.

This is a long-time problem. I have tried to resolve it with Apple but their "Customer Support" is merely a name.
I can go online and access my e-mail but when I try to send or receive e-mail via iCloud through my internet server (Google fiber now but the same situation existed with my prior service), I receive "There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for 'Apple Email' and try again.
"The server returned the error: The server 'p0-imap.mail.me.com' refused to allow a connection on port 143."

Maybe you should test these things before calling people out, because these settings do function perfectly well.
iCloud is not supported on Snow Leopard or lower, why bother to mention it?
The OP has an iCloud account, and that can not be opened without Lion or Mountain Lion (on a Mac), IOS5 or 6 (on an iPhone/iPad)

When I check the Installer Log, I find only these two messages that I do not understand.

I had identical Installer Log failure notices: I used Houdini to view the invisible files and per Limnos' suggestion cautiously dragged
user > library > preferences > com.apple.installer.plist out of that folder onto my desktop and double-clicked on the .pkg file again and it opened and installed properly.

Can access my Conceptronic NAS ( CH3HNAS ) but can't open any folder.

I have installed OS X 10.7 (Lion) and I noticed a LOT of people started having problems with their NAS. Basically most people can't mount/access the NAS. My problem is different since I CAN access it but I am not able to open any folders on my Conceptronic model CH3HNAS. I am trying to login using 2 different accounts (the default 'admin' and a personal one) both with admin privileges but I can only see the first level of folders, I can't open any of them. Lion says I don't have permission to see the contents.
I have emailed Conceptronic, I'll post any replies here.
In the meanwhile anyone knows how can I restore access to the folders? Any command line tricks?

OK I found a free and easy solution.
Since a lot of people report they are able to access their NAS using apps other than the Finder itself, I decided to look for a free Lion-compatible File Manager to use instead of Finder.
I have found muCommander ( http://www.mucommander.com/ ) and indeed it works fine. All I did was click on the button highlighted bellow, go to "bonjour services" and select my NAS. It prompted me for my username and password and voilá, it works fine.
I keep Finder for everyday use and just load muCommander when I want to access the NAS. At least now I don't have to start my WinXP VM anymore just to access it.

Saved bookmarks into a HTML file.
Removed Firefox entirely.
Downloaded it and installed it again.
Imported bookmarks.

Is anyone having the same type of problems I'm having with Lion. I have a new MacBook Pro, received 7 weeks ago, preinstalled with Leopard 10.6.7. I have barely done a thing on this computer except search online for help with these problems. Safari gives me a 'You are not connected to the internet' too often. Diagnostics disagrees. Are you listing the billing address for the card correctly? The address in the iTunes/MAS account must match the address on your bill exactly.

When you say you reset the device, do you mean you restored the device in iTunes? What error message you are getting when attempting to synchronize media?
