Problems with Yosemite macbook pro and airdrop
I have many problems of comunication with my macbook pro my13 and iphone 6 when i used airdrop for sending file from iphone to mac. In the iphone i do not see the mac icon bat in mac i see the iphone. i can send only from mac to iphone .
Thanks a lot
If i had to guess, I would say prosessor stress is to blame. When you are running a virtual machine, it borrows resources from the host to run the guest OS. The CPU, however, is prioritized Host first, then guest second. With a 27" display connected via Display Port. that is a larger strain on the processor. Honestly, on my 23" iMac, I see a WORLD of difference between the speed of the host and the speed of the guest. That is just something you live with on virtual machines, nothing compares to hardware. I'm sorry I dont have a better answer, but that is all I have.

After having yet another problem with my MacBook Pro and having to wipe the drive, I am now unable to sync my iPhones etc without erasing all the music on them. Is there a way around this? I have no other library!
iTunes is a mess! It couldn't find it's own libraries and I was forced to create a new one. Now I don't know where my music is or if any's missing.columbus new boy wrote:
How crap is that?
It's not crap at all.
It's not that simple. For example, I've 3500 songs on my MacBook but don't want them all on my phone, so I have to manually select each song again???
There has to be a solution.
Why not simply make a playlist with the songs you want on the iPhone?
and maintain a current backup of your computer. -
I am having problems with my macbook pro and the dock. About every fourth time I start the computer, the dock flashes on and off, then goes completely off and all I get is the spinning ball with brief moments of the cursor. But the computer locks up.
Do you have Parallels installed by any chance? There is a known problem that causes symptoms similar to this. You do not need to actually be running Parallels at the time and nothing in ActivityMonitor would point to Parallels. An update corrects the problem:

Printing problems with new Macbook Pro and Canon I9900
I would like to know why my printed output on the Canon I9900 is showing up much darker than the image shown on the screen. I have installed the latest driver from Canon and am still having this problem. I have tried the different Colorsync profiles listed for the Canon and have not seen any improvement. I am using 4x6 matte paper by Kodak and have selected the correct paper type and settings.
Macbook Pro Mac OS X (10.4.8)Hi there,
I would like to know why my printed output on the
Canon I9900 is showing up much darker than the image
shown on the screen.
The answer to your question is simple; colour on a monitor is made differently than colour on a printed image. Monitors combine Red, Green and Blue (RGB) in a process called Additive colour while printers use Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black (CMYK) with a process known as Subtractive colour. The matching of what you see on the screen to what you get printed is a time consuming (and expensive) process and often subject to a users preference.
For the home user this process is often too complicated. If you accept that what you see is not what you will get then half the battle will be won. However, that doesn't mean that you cannot get good output on your printer. A number of applications give you the ability to adjust your output. You just need to experiment with a number of settings to get a 'workflow' that you prefer. If you can tell me which application you are using to print from I may be able to offer some values that will help.

Problem with closing macbook pro and having to open it up and turn it back on
Often after closing my macbook pro 13" i have to click the power button then It comes up with the blue startup screen and bars that light up from left to right and i don't know whats going on, if anyone knows whats going on please help, and thanks!
Hi. You might have a memory problem. With one or more of your ram being bad. If this is so you can try removing the ram one at a time and try to restart . You can also switch ram slots to make sure ifs not the ram slot. Before you do this try a pram reset. Command/Option/P/R holding down these keys while starting up for three chimes. Also a SMC reset.http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295 http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202768

Problem with my Macbook Pro and D-Link 615 Wireless Router
Supposedly other people have had similar issues but the router doesn't seem to "like" my Macbook Pro. If i connect the mac to the modem, it runs beautifully on the internet. When I try to connect via Airport or Ethernet to the router, the internet refuses to work and connections are never completely established. The wireless doesn't work but it will find the wireless internet signal but no matter what, it won't connect. The ethernet cable says that it is connected but "may not be able to access the internet" which it can't. What in the world do I do?
I am having similar problems. I have updated firmware, set the router to g-only broadcast, have WPA personal security, tried the power down technique. What I'm experiencing is that the macbook will see the network, connect to it, browse web pages, but will only go to a certain point. IE-it will load facebook, let me log into my page, but after that anything I click on(check messages, check friend's pages) it gives me a lost connection to server error after a few minutes. Same thing with my forum group webpage. It'll let me log in and view all the forum posts, but when I try to reply to one it times out. Also cannot connect using MSN messenger for mac.

Problems with using Macbook Pro and Cinema Displayscreen
I have a Macbook Pro running Snow Leopard (too scared of what happened to my wifes Mac using Lion). I have Parallels on it with windows 7. I use that to run Autocad LT. I have the Macbook connected to a 27" Cinema Display.
If I boot up the Windows environment to use Autocad on just the Macbook Pro it takes about 1 minute. If connected to the Cinema display then it can take 5-7 mins. as well Autocad can be sluggish and slow to respond to commands.
Can anyone tell me why and if this can be solved? If i had to guess, I would say prosessor stress is to blame. Problems With my macbook pro, and can the apple genuis bar fix these?
Well. Many things. I was wondering how I can fixan arsenal of things. Including, my screen connector, because the colors are off and the pixels. My microphone, my fans, my speeakers and yeah.
Nobody here can diagnose hardware remotely if multiple problems,.....much less cost.
LIke Guru Kappy said,....make a call for service / diagnostic. -
How do I fix a initializing problem with my macbook pro? I only get to the blank screen with the apple logo and the "processing something" sign... it just doesn't start the system....
Please help
MarceloIf there is no loading bar, it's usually a problem with a third party kext file in OS X itself.
You can press the power button down to force a hardware shutdown, then reboot holding the shift key down on a wired or built in keyboard, this will disable them and you go around and update your third party software.
Gray, Blue or White screen at boot, w/spinner/progress bar
Also take this time to backup your users files off the machine if possible.
Most commonly used backup methods
Sometime that won't work and you need to do more

Help!
i had a problem with my macbook pro: on tuesday 16th (agoust, 2011) I went to a friend's house and show her some document i had in my computer, then i turned off my mac and it asked me: "there are some actualizations available, do you want to update before turn off?" i clicked on yes, waited for update and then the macbook turned off. When I got back home, I tried to turn it on again.... but nothing: it didn't sound baaaammmmm as allways, it didn't reacted. I tried again, but useless.
The next day i went to one of these "authorized management centers", but they coudn't say anything or do anything about it. First they told me the problem was the battery, then the hard disk, then the video card... but don't. I left my mac there by two weeks, hoping they could help me, but they didn't. So I picked it up and go to other place.
The rare thing is that i have just two years with my mac, and i didn't do anything stupid on it (didn't fall, get wet, microwave, hot, shocked, hit or anything) It just stopped working. Two times it turned on. But if not, it's the same story:
When i pushed the button to turn on, sounds like baaaaaammmm, but then again, and again, and again, and the screen doesn't get blue or anything, it appears a foder with a "?" and then the computer turns off...
Im wondering if this is a problem on this computers, because some of my friends told me things much like that that happened with their macbooks.
What's going on??? why this is happening?? cn you help me?This article may help: A flashing question mark appears when you start your Mac.

I am experiencing some major problems with my MacBook Pro. I have had some issues with it turning on/off at random times, but today, when starting, I get the grey start-up screen and a recovery bar. After filling in approx 1/4 of the way, the machine dies. After starting it in recovery mode, it will not allow me to download OS X Mavericks- it says the disk is locked. Any ideas? I do not have a back-up and do not want to erase everything before I have explored my options. Help?
try forcing internet recover, hold 3 keys - command, option, r - you should see a spinning globe
most people will tell you to do both pram and smc resets (google) and if you still have issues, either clean install (easy) or troubleshoot (hard) -

have a problem with my MacBook Pro.5,3 and monitor. Intermittently, the desk top screen becomes broken up into vertical sections, which appear in the wrong order, creating a haphazard picture.
The Apple icon, usually at top left corner, appears in top right corner in a strip including all that left hand. When the computer is restarted, the screen goes back to normal. But I have to move the mouse to the far left of the screen and then up until it reappears on the far right hand side of the screen so that I can hit shut down button.
It seems to happen randomly though always on desk top and sometimes when I move mouse and computer switches on from rest mode. My large flat screen is relatively new.
The video card on this computer, which is approximately two years old, is Nvidia FeForce 9400M.
Any help would be welcome as my usual source of assistance is not available and I am not well versed in workings of the Mac although I have used one for many years. That sounds like a Hardware problem.
You may be able to confirm that with Apple Hardware Test, or make an appointmenst for a free Genius Bar evaluation.
