Procedure for using Webserices and XML data button

I am developing a report in xcelsius and I have huge data like 10000 records in my excel sheet for one report because of which the report performance is very bad as I am increasing the max. no of rows from 512 to 10000 .Is their any way I can make those records come dynamically to the excel sheet by using XML Data Button, or Web Services etc if yes how can I use this or is their any other way to accomplish this
As of now I am using the trial versron of XCELSIUS 2008 so can I use the option of webservices and XML in the trial version if so what I need to enter in WEbservice URL for trial versions
Can any body send me the step by step process of using webservices & XML when loading the data from excel to xcelsius
if I use these options when I select the source data do I need to select the entire 10000 records , if so then again my performance will be bad , so can any one help me out please

With this component it was my intention to make a more "terse" version of the LabVIEW Flatten to XML VI that was also supported on RT and that gave the user more flexbility regarding the structure of the parsing type definition. I think you are right that the XML parser is not compliant to section 2.11 of the XML spec. The parser does specifically looking for a #D#A and this appears to be an oversight on my part. Please confirm for me, the specifcation is saying that the XML parser should be able to recognize three possibilities as an "end of line" character: #D#A, #D, or #A. Am I reading this right?There are more efficient (and in some cases much more efficient) ways of sharing data between LabVIEW and LabVIEW: some examples are flattened binary strings and the datalog binary format. XML is slower than these optons but the upside is that it is human readable. Furthermore XML is inherently hierarchical which is convenient for complex data structures like clusters of arrays of clusters, etc. If you don't care about human readability then you are correct XML doesn't make as much sense.I will return to the GXML source code and try to fix this in the near future but I would hope that instead of creating yet another custom VI from scratch that you could reuse what I have provided for you. I included enough documentation in the source code so that users could make some modificiations themselves. The target application for this reference library was LabVIEW to LabVIEW communication. As such I documented the schema on the dev zone document from a LabVIEW perspective. It includes all the supported datatypes and all the supported data structures (cluters, arrays, multidimensional arrays, clusters of multidimensional arrays, etc.) I do see some value in making a more conventional XML spec but the time investment required didn't really line up with my intended use case. Xcelsius SP3 XML Data Button

I am trying to fetch data thru an .aspx by passing it as an URL to xml data button ,and trying to fetch some names.Where in the same procedure was successfully executing in Xcelsius sp2 but in sp3 i was unable to do so..Can any one let me know if you had faced similar sort of issuess..

Yes, Data connection works. I can connect to Xcel, Access, xml data.
In fact What I am trying is to do is thi:
1 - From a user interface with some select dn list box
2 - Use adodb connection to pull data from an access database with the selected info in the UI
3 - format selected data as xml and load xml data into xcelsius- Run Time.
That is quite simple with xml button but otherwise it seems difficult. I have tried different things but how to trigger the script is the problem
Any idea?

I came looking for the answer to this question. I could not
find an answer. Eventually I found it the answer that worked for
me, a graphic designer with not much experience in xml.
The following url provided an errata file in PDF format:

instructions in the book i was using to learn about spry:
"If Internet Explorer 7 is your primary browser, you'll nee
to take some extra steps to view spry dynamic content locally.
First, your site must be within the local server webroot; be sure
your Lessons folder is stored within the Inetpub>wwwroot folder.
Next, double-click the site name in the files panel to open the
Site Definition dialogue. Click the Testing Server category; from
the Access List choose Local/Network. Click Okay to close the Site
Definition dialogue. Now, when you preview your page with Internet
Explorer, your local Web server (localhost) serves the page as
designed."
Horray for me! Now i can move on from here and actually get
some work done!

XML Data Button Not working when Exported onto BusinessObjectEnterprise

I have an XML data button on a dashboard. It works fine in preview and on web. It does not work if it is exported onto Business Object server using XCelsius' Export to BusinessObjectEnterprise.
In the InfoView, I double click on the flash file, the flash files opens as expected, but when XML Data button is clicked, no new data seem to come in...
If I export as Adobe file, and then post it onto the server, and view it using Info View, the XML data button works just fine.
Please advise.

All the examples in the text books, etc. show the LoadVars
object being used with a .txt file. Can I use it with a .xml file
or not? I have tried but the output panel just shows rubbish
data!

LoadVars is not XML. You need to get a textbook that
discusses XML and
Flash.
The Flash documentation has excellent example for both
LoadVars and XML.

Xcelsius connectivity through XML data button

While using XML data button, In URL Box we need an script.that will return the correctly formatted XML data source How can we do the coding of that script and How to do its Local Hosting?
Is there any other method or application that can be provided in the URL box so that it also returns the correctly formatted XML data source? are there some demos of it?//

I am trying to do the same thing. I have got the get_data function working to create the desired output. However when I replace the xml <data> block with &P65_DATA, it does not work. If I display P65_DATA on the page, it has correct output. If I cut and paste the output into custom XML, it works fine. Anyone have come across this issue..any ideas how to fix it?

Forms pulling Multiple Records from an XML Schema and XML data files - Adobe LiveCycle Designer

I built a form in Adobe LiveCycle with an xml schema and data file. The problem is with how the form renders the xml data file.
I have a statement element that consists of about 6 fields (statementID, statementName, statementAddress, statementCountry, statementZip, statementDate, etc) of data in the schema that allows for multiple iterations - so one xml data file can contain multiple statements. These fields allow for null values.
But here's the problem: When any of the statements - say statement 2 of 6 - has a null value in one of the fields, if the xml data file doesn't have a placeholder
(example of placeholder: <statementName type="String"/> )in the xml for that field, my form pulls the field value from the NEXT statement.
This corrupts all the rest of the statement records, as this field is shifted up for all the rest.
I know that in the past I haven't needed a placeholder when a field was null. But I'm wondering if when the data allows for multiple records the xml data file needs to generate the placeholder. And where is the problem? In the Schema? The xml data file? My form? And the 64-thousand-dollar question: How to fix it?

If your <statement> element is the one that repeats, it should be bound to a subform with the binding string of something like $.statement[*]. Then in that subform should be your fields and they should have bindings of $.statementID, $.statementName, $.statementAddress, etc.

Your code looks good to me. What is the problem? What happens when it fails? What is the IBSTA value on the controller, and at what point in the code does it stop? What is the IBSTA value on the slave, and at what point does it stop?
One thing is that you might not want to call IBCLR() in a loop on the device. At the beginning of the program is fine...This will send a clear command to the device and will clear out any LACS and TACS bits that might be set. Also your IBDEV call shouldn't be in a loop.
