Procedure output cursor result insert to new table

Hi all,
Is there has any method to complete following task,
CREATE OR REPLACE
PROCEDURE sp1(
cv_1 OUT sys_refcursor)
AS
BEGIN
OPEN cv_1 FOR SELECT OBJECT_NAME FROM USER_OBJECTS;
END;
CREATE TABLE TEST1(OBJECT_NAME VARCHAR2(100));
var cv_1 refcursor;
INSERT INTO TEST1(OBJECT_NAME)
EXEC sp1(:cv_1);
Note: need solution apart from insert records to above table with-inside the procedure.
Thanks
Tharindu Dhaneenja

Your code will not work anyway. You need to go through the SQL and PL/SQL basics again. It's always better to use pure SQL (if possible) instead of PL/SQL. You can try to insert using something like
INSERT INTO TEST1 SELECT OBJECT_NAME FROM USER_OBJECTS;

  • Stored Procedure that creates a trigger on new tables

    I am trying to create a stored procedure that creates a trigger on new tables whenever the table is created.  The procedure should receive the new project table's name, and then create a dml trigger on that procedure.  When the procedure
    is run, I get an error "Incorrect syntax near keyword 'TRIGGER.'"  This is how my Stored Procedure looks in SQL Management Studio.  Any suggestions?

    First you have to debug the dynamic SQL string with a PRINT statement. I see some problems:

  • How can I insert a new table whose cells are linked to Cell Styles?

    How can I define a Table Style so that cells in new tables are automatically linked to my Cell Styles? (Not sure if "linked" is exactly the appropriate word....I'm going for "connected in such a way that when the Style is changed, the character/paragraph/cell/table/object updates to reflect the change.")
    I thought the whole point of using Cell Styles in Table Styles would be so the cells can be automatically linked to the desired Cell Styles when the table is created -- but that isn't happening for me. I don't know if I'm just confused or if this is a bug:
    When I insert a new table of a Table Style I have defined, it seems all cells in the new table are simply linked to Cell Style [None], with overrides for each cell that are consistent with the applicable Cell Style as it was defined when the table was inserted. So although the appearance of each cell is consistent with the Cell Style I defined for for that region of the table, the cells don't update if I later make changes to the Cell Styles I defined.
    (If, after inserting a new table, I manually select each cell and apply the desired Cell Style, then the cells do (of course) update when I change the Cell Styles.)
    Is it possible to have cells be actually linked to Cell Styles when a new table is inserted, instead of cells being simply linked to style [None] with overrides?
    (I'm using the up-do-date 2014 release of InDesign CC, in case that's relevant.)

    there is a example on Page 1149 of book Graphic Java 2 mastering the JFC
    by David M. Geary. ISBN: 0-L3-079667-0, Try to take a look the code. It will help.

  • Understanding logminer results -- inserting row into table with CLOB field

    In using log miner I have noticed that inserts into rows that contain a CLOB (I assume this applies to other LOB type fields as well, have only tested with CLOB so far) field are actually recorded as two DML entries.
    --the first entry is the insert operation that inserts all values with an EMPTY_CLOB() for the CLOB field
    --the second entry is the update that sets the actual CLOB value (+this is true even if the value of the CLOB field is not being set explicitly+)
    This separation makes sense as there may be separate locations that the values are being stored etc.
    However, what I am tripping over is the fact the first entry, the Insert, has a RowId value of 'AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA' which is invalid if I attempt to use it in a flashback query such as:
    SELECT * FROM PERSON AS OF SCN #####'  where RowId = 'AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA'The second operation, the Update of the CLOB field, has the valid RowId.
    Now, again, this makes sense if the insert of the new row is not really considered "+done+" until the two steps are done. However, is there some way to group these operations together when analyzing the log contents to know that these two operations are a "+matched set+"?
    Not a total deal breaker, but would be nice to know what is happening under the hood here so I don't act on any false assumptions.
    Thanks for any input.

    Scott,
    Thanks for the reply.
    I am inserting into the table over a database link.
    I am using the new version of HTML Db (2.0)
    HTML Db is connected to an Oracle 10 database I think, however the table I am trying to insert data into (via the database link) is in an Oracle 8 database - this is why we created a link to it as we couldn't have the HTML Db interacting with the Oracle 8 database directly due to compatibility problems (or so I've been told)

  • Saving SQL result set in new table

    Is it possible to save a SQL result set in a new table? (easily)
    What I want to do is duplicate, or back up a table.

    Create table temp as (select a,b,c from your_table); This statement will create a table with your resultset. This will work in Oracle, I am not sure about others.

  • How capture output of DBCC command in new table?

    The dbcc sqlperf(logspace) statement returns the "Log Size (MB)" column indicating the physical size on disk of the transaction log for a given database.   How can I capture that Log Size field into in my own table where I can
    manipulate it?
    TIA,

    Try the below to know the exact data types:
    create table TmpLOGSPACE(
    DatabaseName sql_variant
    , LOGSIZE_MB sql_variant
    , LOGSPACE_USED sql_variant
    , LOGSTATUS sql_variant)
    insert TmpLOGSPACE(DatabaseName, LOGSIZE_MB, LOGSPACE_USED, LOGSTATUS)
    EXEC('DBCC SQLPERF(LOGSPACE);')
    SELECT SQL_VARIANT_PROPERTY(DatabaseName,'BaseType') AS 'Base Type',
    SQL_VARIANT_PROPERTY(LOGSIZE_MB,'BaseType') AS 'LOGSIZE_MB',
    SQL_VARIANT_PROPERTY(LOGSPACE_USED,'BaseType') AS 'LOGSPACE_USED',
    SQL_VARIANT_PROPERTY(LOGSTATUS,'BaseType') AS 'LOGSTATUS'
    FROM TmpLOGSPACE
    select * from tmpLogSpace
    drop table tmpLogSpace

  • EA2 : Cursor result support?

    I have been eagerly anticipating the release of 1.5 in the hope that cursor results would have support. I have been scouring the forums and have found mention of them but nowhere is there a definitive explanation of how to view the cursor results. Please bear in mind that we have strict controls over packages and schemas and the creating and compiling of "helper" procedures just to output cursor results is heavily frowned upon. Other than that I am a current PL/SQL Develper and am trying desperately to get off windows and onto Linux completely and your product has given me a glimpse of light at the end of the tunnel. Keep up the awesome work

    Okay guys, looks like we're getting our lines crossed. I am currently using PL/SQL developer and it has a very nice testing interface for procedures which return cursors as their results. You simply execute the procedure and then click on the cursor parameter and it opens up, as a table ( similar to the standard query results view ) and you can scroll through it as you would a normal query result.
    I am using 1.5 Early Adopter 2 (1.5.0.52.03).
    All I wanted to know is if there is/will be similar support for cursors in SQL Developer as there is in PL/SQL Developer, and if there already is ( and I mean built in support, not some workaround ) how to I get it/use it/see it??
    thanks

  • Creation of New Table for Delivery Output Type.

    Hi Guys,
    I need to replace an existing table by creating a new Table in the existing Access Sequence with the combination of "Ship to Party/Product Hierarchy".
    Logistics>Shipping>basic Shipping functions>Output determination>Maintain Condition Tables-->maintain output condition table for deliveries.
    I am choosing a new table by the name 902, but i am not getting the field " PRODH Product Hierarchy" on the right hand side to choose from.
    I checked the field catelog also. Firstly the field catelog was also not having the field, and then i added the field in it by choosing new entries.
    I guess i am missing some step in between, thats why the new field (PRODH) is not showing on the right hand side while creation of the condition table.
    One more thing, when i am seeing the Field Catelog, i am able to see a very large number of fields, then why only a few are appearing during creation of a new table??????
    Can you guys correct me and let me find a way.????
    Thanks very much indeed.
    Regards,
    Vivek

    Hi If u have already the field in FC u can add with new entries .
    Try with ,enter t- code <b>SE11</b>, enter <b>KOMB</b>- it will ask for access key get from basis and add u r Field catalog
    Field catalog for condition key: output determination
    If at all u want a new field tao add to u r FC u Can try with userexit.
    1)ADDING OF NEW FIELDS IN PRICING
    In Pricing in SD the fields on the basis of which pricing is done are derived from the FIELD CATALOG which is a structure KOMG .This structure is used to transfer transaction data to the pricing procedure in SD and is also known as communication structure.This structure KOMG consists of two tables KOMK for Header related fields and KOMP for item related fields.
       The fields which are not in either of the two tables KOMK and KOMP
    cannot be used in pricing .Sometimes a need arises when the pricing
    is to be based on some other criteria which is not present in the form of fields in either of the two tables.
      This problem can be solved by using USEREXITS which are provided for pricing in SD.
      Pricing takes place both when the SALES ORDER ( Transaction VA01) is created as well as when INVOICING ( Transaction VF01) is done.Hence SAP provides 2 userexits ,one for sales order processing which is
    USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMP  or
    USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMK
    Depending upon which table (KOMK or KOMP) the new fields were inserted we use either of the above two userexits.These userexits are found in include MV45AFZZ of the standard SAP sales order creation program SAPMV45A.
    In the case of userexit which will be called when invoicing is done ,these
    are provided in the include RY60AFZZ which is in the standard SAP
    program SAPMV45A. The name of the userexits are same. i.e
    USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMP  or
    USEREXIT_PRICING_PREPARE_TKOMK
    These userexits are used for passing the data from the communication structure to the pricing procedure, for this we have to fill the newely
    created field in the communication structure KOMG for this we fill the code in the above userexit using the MOVE statement after the data that
    has to be passed is taken from the database table by using the SELECT statement. The actual structure which is visible in these userexits and which is to be filled for that particular field is TKOMP or TKOMK.
    Before the coding for these userexits is done ,it is necessary to create a new field in either of the two tables KOMK or KOMP .For this purpose
    includes are provided in each of them .
    To create the field in header data(KOMK) the include provided is KOMKAZ
    and to create the field in item data(KOMP) the include provided is KOMPAZ.
    One possible example for the need of creating new fields can be e.g. Frieght to be based upon transportation zone ,for this no field is available in field catalog and hence it can be created in KOMK and then above userexits can be used to fill the transportation data to it.
    2)The other method of finding userexit is to find the word USEREXIT in the
    associated program of the transaction for which we want to determine userexit using SE38.
    3)The other method of finding userexits is to find the include in case of SD/MM applications where the userexits are located ,this can be found in the SAP reference IMG generally in the subfolder under SYSTEM MODIFICATION.
    Some other examples of userexits in SD are:<b></b>

  • To insert a new row in a table control without affecting the other rows

    Halo experts,
    I have a Table control TCTRL in a program .
    The lt_tab contains two cols A and B
    In change mode of the transaction Col A is in display mode and Col B is in change mode
    When i press the + button to insert a new blank entry .I need a blank row with both col A and col B input enabled w/o affecting the display of above and below rows of table control
    In PBO module of subscreen 101
    LOOP AT lt_tab  WITH CONTROL tctrl.
    MODULE tctrl_status.
    endloop.
    In the user command of 0101
    i am writn
    When 'INS'.
    INSERT INITIAL LINE INTO itab.
    Inside MODULE tctrl_status.
    IF lt_tab IS INITIAL.
        LOOP AT SCREEN.
          IF screen-name = 'COLA'.
          screen-input = 1.
      ENDIF.
        ENDLOOP.
          MODIFY SCREEN.
    endif.
    but the problem here is still the Col A is in display mode and Col B is in change mode after output
    .Here modify statement is happening but it does not update the TCTRL-COLS-Screen structure for the col A ( which I have set statically while designing the screen ).I dont want to make the entire row in edit mode only the inserted row ( for both Col A and Col B) and the rest shud remain as it is
    Thanks
    Kallu

    hi Naveen
    I have made my tctrl input disabled for both the columsn and
    I have a module before the PBO loop where I set the like
    module set_tctrl_status.
    IF gv_ok_code NE gc_disp.
        LOOP AT tctrl-cols INTO gs_cols.
          IF gs_cols-screen-name = 'ColB'.
            gs_cols-screen-input = 1.
            MODIFY tctrl-cols FROM gs_cols INDEX sy-tabix.
          ENDIF.
        ENDLOOP.
    This is just to set the Col B in edit mode when in change and create status.
    But if i press the INS button for that change i am coding inside the loop endloop of the pBO like
    if itab is initial.
    LOOP AT tctrl-cols INTO gs_cols.
    gs_cols-screen-input = 1.
    MODIFY tctrl-cols FROM gs_cols INDEX sy-tabix.
    endloop.
    But the problems i it is setting the enite rows as input enabled . I want tos et only that row inpur enabled

    Hi,
    Can we query a results from the results of a stored procedure returning a result set either as cursors or as PL/SQL Table like what we do like this
    select * from <tablename>
    select * from (select * from tablename) alias. instead of this, can we do like this
    select * from (results of stored procedure) alias.

    I agree. Pipelined Table Functions are the way to go.

  • Join multiple output tables of BAPI into new table

    Hi,
    In my model (VC 7.0), I have a BAPI which outputs two different tables. Tables have many multiple records. Each table has several fields and a common field also. I want to combine these tables into one table form. I used the following methods and result are :
    1. I tried to connect output tables to one table form but no success. Because table form allows only one table input.
    2. I put a combine operator for output tables. No success. Although they're common field and multiple records but table form shows only one record? Where are the other record ?
    3. I put a union operator  for output tables. No success. Because union operator output only the common field. But I need the other fields from output tables in my table form.
    Will you please suggest what are the options available with me for joing output of both tables. I think combine operator should solve.
    Regards,
    Yi&#287;it

    Hi,
    use this link to get your answer:
    Join two Table output to new table
    Otherwise you can try with this:
    1. Drag signal out from the first table. Select all the fields which you want to be pass in the final table.Make the first table as multiple selection one.
    2. Create one button in toolbar for the first table and give some proper name in action property.
    3. mentioned the same action name in the link between the signal out and the first table.
    4. follow the same steps for the second table also.
    5. then from compose choose two signal ins and drag them on the story board. Then give the same name as you have given the signal outs name.
    6. Mention all the fields as you have mentioned in the siganl outs.
    7. Add a combine operator with both the signal ins and combine a table with the outport of the combine operator.
    Save and deploy. I hope it will help you.
    Here, you have to select the rows which you want to visualize in the final output table.

  • Stored procedure to update the new table by using back up table

    Hi all,
    oracle version -10g
    iam planning to do one time legacy conversion during the migration of one of the tables.
    for that i took the back up of table , now i need to transfer all of the data from the backup table to the new table with some changes..
    so please suggest me how to write the stored procedure?
    back up table name: test t
    new table: test n
    new table will have extra one row .. in that i need to put the logic
    so am planning to write a procedure like below
    create or replace procedure test as
    begin
    insert into TEST T ( u
              v
              w
              X
              y
              z) VALUES
    SET T.U = O.U
    T.V = O.V
    T.W = DECODE(O.W, AD     '01',
                   00     '01')
    T.X = O.X
    T.Y = IF O.W = 'AD' AND O.Y = 'YES' THAN PUT 'AD'
         IF O.W = '00' AND O.Y = 'YES' THAN PUT 'PD'
    IF O.W NOT IN ('AD','00') AND O.Y = 'YES' THEN PUT 'E'
    O.Y= 'NO' THEN PUT 'D'.
         '

    10g is not an Oracle version number. Please run the following:
    SELECT * FROM v$version;What about your situation indicates a requirement for a stored procedure? I wouldn't write one based on what you have posted. It seems, again from what little you posted, that all you need is:
    INSERT INTO <new_table>
    SELECT ... FROM <temp_table>;

  • Procedure to insert data into table by selecting data from another table

    Hi all,
    I have to create a procedure where i have to select the data from one table and insert it into another table. Any help on this. And i have to update the 2nd table also when ever new records got inserted in the 1st table then.
    Regards

    Hi, you can try something like:
    CREATE [OR REPLACE] PROCEDURE procedure_name
    IS
    BEGIN
    INSERT INTO TABLE1
    VALUES (SELECT * FROM TABLE2);
    END;
    For the other part you may create a trigger on the first table AFTER INSERT to insert the values in the second table too.

  • Can I insert a new text at the cursor's position In Formatted-Text-Edit?

    Hi Everyone,
        I am doing a task to enhance Formatted-Text-Edit,
        The task's goal is: simultaneously edit/display text and image.
        I decide to use Formatted-Text-Edit and Formatted-Text-View to realize the task.
        In Formatted-Text-Edit, user can edit the text and input URL for image,
        In Formatted-Text-View, the text and image can be displayed simultaneously.
        I add a button "Insert Image" besides the Formatted-Text-Edit,
       This is the key point:
       When user click the button, I want to insert a new text(URL of the image) at the cursor's position in Formatted-Text-Edit,
       But how can I get the cursor's position, and insert a new text at the cursor's position in FTE.
       Can anyone give me some suggestion or solution?
       Many thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Derek

    I don't believe that you can get the cursor position yet with the FormattedTextEdit UI element. The best you could do currently is to place the insert at the end of the current text.
    Note duplicate thread/question to;
    Set cursor on the table column inherited with text edit UI element
    Please don't double post your questions in the forum.
