Process and Processor name

I am interested in retrieving the name/id of the processor (node) and process handling my java application. I have done a search on this topic in all forums and the answers are not very clear especially the JNI ones! More help please!
Acyually while on this subject, is there any wondeful way I can retrieve this kind of information specifically on any java object I create? I know the instr addr is always appended to an object but the process id...?
Thanks,

Hi,
Do a truss or tusc command on it:
Attached to process 18688 ("/installs2/CoreServer/./jre/HP-UX/1.3.1_08/jre
/bin/../bi") [32-bit] )
ksleep(PTH_CONDVAR_OBJECT, 0xd1e8, 0xd1f0, NULL) [sleeping]
ksleep(PTH_CONDVAR_OBJECT, 0x7ef3b638, 0x7ef3b640, NULL) [sleeping]
ksleep(PTH_CONDVAR_OBJECT, 0x157c0, 0x157c8, 0x4b000470) [sleeping]
ksleep(PTH_CONDVAR_OBJECT,
Check with top or ps which CPU its running on.
Hope this helps.

First correct the pirate disc issue. Buy OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard from Apple for $19.99 here http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
Snow Leopard is the latest version your macbook 1,1 will run. Oitlook is part of the Microsoft Office suite, if you want outlook you'll need to also purchase Office. If you can get by with Apple's mail program there are free alternatives to Office like Libre Office or Open Office.

  • Process Flow ignores name and location for Control- and Log-Files

    Hi!
Our OWB Version is 10.1.0.3.0 - DB Version 9.2.0.7.0 - OWF Version 2.6.2
Clients and server are running on Windows. Database contains target schemas as well as OWB Design and Runtime, plus OWF repositories. The source files to load reside on the same server as the database.
I have for example a SQL*Loader Mapping MAP_TEXT which loads one flat file "text.dat" into a table stg_text.
The mapping MAP_TEXT is well configured and runs perfect. i.e. Control file "text.ctl" is generated to location LOC_CTL, flat file "text.dat" read from another location LOC_DATA, bad file "text.bad" is written to LOC_BAD and the log file "text.log" is placed into LOC_LOG. All locations are registered in runtime repository.
When I integrate this mapping into a WorkFlow Process PF_TEXT, then only LOC_DATA and LOC_BAD are used. After deploying PF_TEXT, I execute it and found out, that Control and Log file are placed into the directory <OWB_HOME>\owb\temp and got generic names <Mapping Name>.ctl and <Mapping Name>.log (in this case MAP_TEXT.ctl and MAP_TEXT.log).
How can I influence OWB to execute the Process Flow using the locations configured for the mapping placed inside?
    Has anyone any helpfull idea?
    Thx,
    Johann.

I didn't expect to be the only one to encounter this misbehaviour of OWB.
Meanwhile I found out what the problem is and had to recognize that it is like it is!
There is no solution for it till Paris Release.
Bug Nr. 3099551 at Oracle MetaLink adresses this issue.

  • Hi I bought a macbook in 2007/2008 and am wondering if it is possible to update the operating system? Here are my system details: Hardware Overview:    Model Name:     MacBook   Model Identifier:     MacBook4,1   Processor Name:     Intel Core 2 Duo   Pro

Hi, I bought a Macbook in 2007/2008 and am wondering if it is possible to update my system so I can get the new version of iTunes?
Here are my current system details: Mac OsX Version 10.5.8
    Hardware Overview:
      Model Name:    MacBook
      Model Identifier:    MacBook4,1
Processor Name:    Intel Core 2 Duo
      Processor Speed:    2.4 GHz
      Number Of Processors:    1
      Total Number Of Cores:    2
      L2 Cache:    3 MB
      Memory:    2 GB
      Bus Speed:    800 MHz
      Boot ROM Version:    MB41.00C1.B00
      SMC Version (system):    1.31f1

The model 4,1 can run a maximum of 10.7 Lion.  The 10.6 Snow Leopard DVD is in the Apple online store. You can get it for $19.99. After you’ve installed that then download the 10.6.8 combo updater to finish it off. http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399 You will need to be running 10.6.8 to access the App Store to order Lion. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard
    System Requirements for 10.6:
Mac computer with an Intel processor
    1GB of memory
    5GB of available disk space
    DVD drive for installation
Some features require a compatible internet service provider: fees may apply.
You can upgrade from 10.5 to 10.6 with no problems as long as you have at least 1gb of RAM. Any program that runs under 10.5 should run under10.6. See this list for third party programs compatibility with 10.6: http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/  You might have to upgrade some drivers for printers, etc.... And you will have to install Rosetta if you have any Power PC applications
    http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/snow_leopard_installing_rosetta/
Once you are at 10.6.8 Lion is still available from Apple. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775. to purchase it. Then within 3 days you will get an email with a code which you can use to download Lion from the App Store. Or go to http://store.apple.com/us/product/D6106Z/A/os-x-lion and purchase it there. The price is $19.99.
Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly.
As for third party programs see this list for compatibility with 10.7 http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
Also Lion doesn't run any Power PC programs. To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up select Applications under Software. Then look under Kind to see if any of your applications are listed as Power PC. Universal and Intel will run under Lion.
Before Mac switched to Intel processors in 2006 they used Power PC processors from 1994 to 2005. Power PC 601 through 604, G3, G4 and G5. Applications written for the Power PC processors need the application called Rosetta to run on Intel processors. This was part of the Operating System in 10.4 and 10.5 but was an optional install in 10.6. With 10.7 Lion Apple dropped all support for Power PC applications.

  • Are a single ns-slapd process and its 32 LWP (light weight processes) limited or bound to a single processor?

ns-slapd and its LWP sub-processes seem to appear as a single process in some tools. Does this limit them to only being able to use one of the available processors on a multi-processor system, either due to lock management or for some other reason?
W see all the CPUs on a four processor system receiving activity, but the system never exceeds 25% utilization, or, the total of a single CPU.
Is this a limitation, or are we just not using it much yet?

<i>Are a single ns-slapd process and its 32 LWP (light weight processes) limited or bound to a single processor?</i>
    The short answer:
No, and you shouldn't need to worry about it anyway.
    The long answer:
The configuration LDAP is never a bottleneck in an iAS system. You could have hundreds of iAS servers running off a single instance and a single processor LDAP would still be able to handle the configuration requests easily.
If you also use your LDAP server as an authentication repository, you should size your LDAP server based on your authentication needs. But even if you are using iDS as an authentication store there are several other factors to keep in mind.
    1. iDS scales pretty effectively up to about four CPU's for the most important operations (i.e. reads)
    2. Unless you are running some unusual application server hardware, you will run out of disk i/o long before you run out of CPU power.
    3. If you have any significant load on the directory server you should probably offload it onto its own server (or partition) anyway so that it doesn't steal excessive amounts of memory from that appserver.
    4. Similarly, if you are putting a lot of stress on the directory server with authentications, you should consider tuning the directory server for those authentications.
I guess a little more detail about your application server architecture would be helpful in figuring out why your CPU doesn't exceed 25%. I strongly doubt that it has anything to do with slapd, however.

  • Getting sequence filename and sequence name in process model error handler

We are using the sequential process model and would like to log sequence step error information to a file.  We have an Error Handler callback in SequentialModel.seq and that is where we will write to the error file.  In the Error Handler callback, I can get the error container info for the step where the error occurs and the name of the that step thru the Error Handler Step parameter.  I would also like to record the sequence file and the sequence where the error occurred, but I have not been able to find those in the sequence context.  I know they are available because the TestStand RunTime Error dialog box displays them.  How can I access the name of the sequence file and the name of the sequence where the error occurred?
    Thanks,
    Hans

    Hey hans,
Use the API.  Since you already have the Step object reference coming in as a parameter you can just use a few ActiveX steps to get the Sequence File and Sequence from which the error was thrown.
    Step.Sequence
Sequence.Name (gets the name of the sequence)
    Sequence.SequenceFile
SequenceFile.Path (gets the path of the sequence file)
So basically just 4 activex steps.  I hope this helps.

You need minimally Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8, Lion, or Mountain Lion installed. Purchase and download Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
         OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
                 Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion at the Online Apple Store. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

If you are trying to upgrade using a gray-faced OS X disk from another system, that won't work, as those disks are locked to the system types they are delivered with. You'll need to drop the $29 on a retail copy of Snow Leopard, which is available from the Apple online store. Note Snow Leopard requires 1GB minimum, and you may want at least 2GB for better performance.

  • 30-40x processes called "unar" eats up harddrive, memory and processor when TV is connected as external display. What is this and how do I get rid of it?

What is this process and why does it eat up all my hard drive space, memory and processor every time external display is connected? If I have the display connected for long enough, it could easily eat up 60-70 gigs of my hard drive.

Somehow we need to identify what this "unar" process is.
Are you sure that this UnrarX is not in your login items ?? (the things to be automatically started at login)
Perhaps removing any login startup items would help in isolating the problem
As far as I find out, there's no easy way.
There is the source of simple program that will tell you the path to a process from it PID. That's certainly not very elegant but you can find it here.
Looking at your screen shot it would appear (just looking at the indentation) that the "unar" processes are not running as a sub-process of some other process like launchd, sh, Terminal, or something else.
If that's not the case then a important piece of information would be the parent process.
In the screenshot of a fragment of Activity Monitor below, bash is a sub process of login which is a sub process of Terminal. This structure only shows up if you sleected "all Processes, Hierarchically"
It would be useful to look at all the views of processes available in Activity Monitor.
By identifying in which views it shows up we can learn if it is a:
    System process
    one of My processes
    other User Process
    Windowed process
    etc
This will help us in knowing where to look for "unar" and perhaps to figure out what it is, and why it keeps showing up

  • Media encoder time remaining stops decreasing and processor drops to zero. Time elapsed keeps going up! File won't complete!

    Please help anyone who can.
Firstly I know I have very little RAM on my system, only 4GB but I've been rendering the same kinds of files for weeks with no problems until the last few days.
They biggest issues is as follows:
My timeline in Premiere Pro CC 2014 has 1080p 50mbps MXF footage from a Sony PMW 200 and some similar footage replaced with an After Effects comp for green screen keying.
The clip, approx 2min, starts with a linked comp from after effects, then cuts to the mxf footage and back to a linked comp at the end.
I am exporting via media encoder to h264 1080p. The file rendered fine for about 40min with the processor at 50% approx. The processor then shot up to 99% for 10 mins and the render progress bar
went up to almost 90% complete.
Then the progress bar stopped, the processor dropped to 0%, time remaining is steadily climbing and so is time elapsed. I've tried pausing and un pausing the render que and nothing else is running in background.
I need these files rendered tonight!! I've tried this a few times and this problem keeps occurring sometimes with the remaining time shooting up to 74 hours!!
Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong?!
    Windows 7 Professional (64 bit)
    Dell Precision workstation 690
    Intel xeon X5365 3ghz (x2)
    4 GB RAM

Sounds exactly like what is happening to me.  This is frustrating because it was a 30 hour encoding process and the place where it is stuck is right at the very end of the sequence on the 2nd pass, although there is still about 12% of the progress bar remaining.  I guess that this is where it takes all its work and puts the separate files into the single video file. I really don't want to go through this again. The final video file is showing up though and is shown having the size that I am expecting it to be.
Any workarounds to somehow get this unstuck?  I am hesitant to just try and open the file. I am going to try a couple of things and if I am successful at getting this to finish without restarting then I will be sure to post it here.
Also, I don't know if this has anything to do with this problem, but I looked at my system Activity Monitor, and there is a CPU process highlighted in red, it states:
         Adobe QT32 Server (not responding)
    Thirty minutes later...
I was incorrect above as to the actual problem.  I paused the queue encoding that was stuck, then opened up the project again in Premiere Pro only to discover that there was an offline still image which I stupidly had renamed during the day. So I renamed the file back to its original name, reconnected the picture, saved the PP project. Then I started the encoding back up and still no luck.
So I paused the encoding again, went back into the PP project and rendered just the area under question, saved it, and exported it into the queue. Then just to be safe I went to the paused item in AME, and duplicated it adding another version into the queue.
Then I unpaused the encoding and ... SUCCESS!!  Not sure which of the final steps did the trick, but I am guessing that it was the rendering of the part of the sequence that it was stuck on.  Hope this helps someone.

  • Query on HCM Processes and Forms

    Hi
I am facing some issues in configuring Hiring Forms in HCM Processes and Forms. I can place them in 2 baskets and describe each of them below. I would appreciate any advise on ways and means to overcome these errors.
    Basket #1
I want to use the standard forms SHU1, SHU2 in development environment to understand the HCM P&F functionalities. I copied these form scenarios from client 000 and did all the configurations as outline in IMG activity HRAdministrative Services >> Configuration of Forms and Processes >> Sample Processes for HCM Process and Forms.
When I run a check using HR Administrative Services >> Configuration of Forms and Processes >> Configuration of Forms >> Check Consistency of Form Scenarios and select Form name, I get errors along following lines:
u2022     Error Message Sample#1 Form scen SHU1 vers. 00000 serv. SAP_PA: Only one deflt value allowed for field I0009_ZLSCH
u2022     Error Message Sample#2 Form scen. SHU1 vers. 00000 service SAP_PA: Field I0007_ARBST default value is not created
u2022     Error Message Sample#3 ISR scenario SHU1 version 00000: Field I0001_BUKRS is missing
u2022     Error Message Sample#4 Form scen. SHU1 vers. 00000: Field I0007_ARBST service for default values not required
However, at the bottom of the log I see this message in Green: Form scenario SHU1 version 00000: Form scenario is consistent
I tried to make the changes as suggested in the Long Text for each of these messages. Probably due to the fact that I am using standard delivered forms, I get this message u201CDo not make any changes (SAP entry)u201D and I am unable to save the changes.
    Basket #2
In this basket I have Org_Change form and have managed to go the whole nine yards and complete the configuration in ECC. The consistency checks for process and forms are in green. However, I am unable to start the process through Portal. I get this message u201Cno data availableu201D when I try to select a process.
Among the 5 roles delivered in SAP as initiators for processors u2013I am interested in 3 of them HRASARA (for HR Administrator). I have configured HRASRA and HRASRB as initiators for Org_Change. However, I am not able to figure out how to link these roles to portal roles such as SAP_ASR_ADMINISTRATOR, SAP_ASR_MANAGER etc.
I would appreciate any advise on ways and means to overcome these errors.
    Thanks
    Subhash

Have you been able to fix your issue in Basket # 2 ?

    Sample Processing Routines
    Last edited:
Creating and processing IDocs are a widely mechanical task, as it is true for all interface programming. We will show a short example that packs SAP R/3 SapScript standard text elements into IDocs and stores them back to texts in a second routine. The text elements can be edited with SO10.
Outbound function     IDoc outbound functions are function modules with a standard interface which will read data from an application database and convert the data into IDoc format.
The interface parameters need to be compatible with a well defined standard, because the function module will be called from within another program.
Inbound function     IDoc inbound functions are function modules with a standard interface, which will interpret the received IDoc data and prepare for processing by an application.
The received IDoc data is processed record by record and interpreted according the segment information provided with each record. The prepared data can then be processed by an application, a function module or a self-written program.
The example programs in the following chapters will show you how texts from the text pool can be converted into an IDoc and processed by an inbound routine to be stored into another system. The following will give you the basics to understand the example.
Text from READ_TEXT     SAP R/3 allows the creation of text elements, e.g. with transaction SO10. Each standard text elements has a header record which is stored in table STXH. The text lines itself are stored in a special cluster table. To retrieve the text from the cluster, you will use the standard function module function READ_TEXT . We will read such a text and  pack it into an IDoc. That is what the following simple function module does.
If there is no convenient routine to process data, the easiest way to hand over the data to an apllication is to record a transaction with transaction SHDB and create a simple processing function module from that recording.
    Sample Inbound Routines

Inbound processing is widely the reverse process of an outbound.. The received IDoc has to be unpacked, interpreted and transferred to an application for further processing.
Inbound processing function module     Below is the example of an inbound function module. This module expects an IDoc with rows of plain text and will save this text under a given name to SAP's text database. The procedure will extract the text name and the text line from the IDoc and hand over the text data to the function module READ_TEXT which will store the text in the text pool.

Unpacking the IDoc data     The received IDoc data is processed record by record and unpacking is a simple discrimination by case according the segment name provided with each record..
    *** --- Unpacking the IDoc --- ***
      LOOP AT IDOC_DATA.bb
         CASE IDOC_DATA-SEGNAM.

           ENDCASE.
      ENDLOOP.
Application processing     When the IDoc is unpacked it needs to be passed to the application. In our case this will be a simple call to a standard function which is going to store the data to the text database.
*** --- Calling the application to process the received data --- ***
      CALL FUNCTION 'SAVE_TEXT'
           EXPORTING
                HEADER          = XTHEAD
                SAVEMODE_DIRECT = 'X'
           TABLES
                LINES           = TLINES.
Writing a status log     Finally the processing routine needs to pass a status record to the IDoc processor. This status indicates successful or unsuccessful processing and will be added as a log entry to the table EDIDS.
    fill IDOC_Status
        IF OK NE 0.
          IDOC_STATUS-STATUS = '51'.
        ELSE.
          IDOC_STATUS-STATUS = '53'.
        ENDIF.
        APPEND IDOC_STATUS.
The status value '51' indicates a general error during application processing and the status '53' indicates everything is OK. There are numerous other status values, with distinct meanings, but '51' and '53' are the most common ones.

  • Adobe HCM Processes and Forms Start processes iView error

    Hi,
We are implementing Adobe HCM processes. The forms based on the PCR technology are working fine. However, we want the new HCM Processes and Forms technology. We have implemented Business packages for MSS, HR Administrator and XSS (PC_GUI). ADS is configured correctly as the PCR Adobe forms are working fine.
We want to use the WebDynpro version of HCMPF and NOT the ABAP version. When starting the Start Processes IView (sap.com/paasrprocst) we get the error:
