Process Management Email

What is the difference between ...
granting a user the role "Receive Email Alerts for Process Management" AND
"Add Alert" from the Security classes permissions screen ?

I wanted to try to test the myself but after I changed the scenario process management setting to A I get a HTTP 500 error when I process manage and don't get any emails. I registered the mailer.dll but that didn't work.
Anyway, I would set up a user with one process level role and then see what email(s) they get. Then add additional process level roles and see if that is what is adding additional emails or not.
Another test you could also try testing with only one security class set for alert and then add additional ones to see what happens.
When you process manage do you only process manage one entity at a time or do you do the Parent and all decendents?
Below shows what the 9.3.1 Security Admin Guide says this is who is notified at what level but it does not say what happens if a user has more than one role.

  • How can I turn off base64 email encoding in iPlanet Process Manager?

Email sent out from a workflow running in the Process
Manager seems to be base64 encoded. How can I turn
    off the encoding?

No worries. Typically you can rename a machine by just changing the name System Preferences -> Sharing. But there is also a command line option to adjust the name, and if you don't use the command line option, the server freaks out and will alert you about the change forever. ie - for servers, you need to use the command I describe below.
The command is called changeip and can be run from command line in Terminal.app. It is for manually chaning the ip address and or name of a machine. It basically has 4 parameters: old ip address, new ip address, old machine name, new machine name.
Basically the command looks like this:
sudo changeip OLDIPADDRESS NEWIPADDRESS OLDNAME NEWNAME
If any value is being kept the same, just repeat the identical information as both the old and new value.
Example 1: Changing the IP address and host name. This would update the machine's ip address to be 192.168.1.2 and its name would be update to my_new_name.
    sudo changeip 192.168.1.1 192.168.1.2 my_old_name my_new_name
Example 2: Keeping the IP address the same but updating the name. This would update the machine's name to my_new_name but would keep the same ip address.
    sudo changeip 192.168.1.1 192.168.1.1 my_old_name my_new_name
Most likely you're just wanting to update the name, in which case you should follow the second example. If you run this, be sure to reboot the machine afterwards and test to make sure that any enabled services are running properly.

  • Errors after upgrading Bpel process manager

    Hi all,
As said in the subject I recently upgraded to the latest version of the Bpel process manager. And it looks like some changes have been made ;-) My project does not compile/deploy anymore. See below the obant errors I got. Apparently, I should now add the ns prefixes in the bpel source ... could you confirm? What impact will that make on the queries?
    thanx,

    Hi all,
I modified the bpel so that it could compile by letting the designer add prefixes where it needed some. Then I deployed the process and tested it. Unfortunately ;-( See below the error log. It looks like the newly added prefixes are source of troubles ...

    Hi All.
We have setup the IC WebClient Agent Inbox through the WS14000164 workflow, and we can see the email in the IC Inbox.

Somebody knows the reason of the error?

  • Business process manager using Apex

Has anyone implemented a declarative, generic business process/workflow engine similar to Oracle's BPEL Process Manager using Apex? There are some threads on this forum talking about BPEL's predecessor Oracle Workflow, an open source engine called PL/Flow and the like but they are more than 4 years old. I also see some survey/questionnaire type applications but they don't have process flow, routing, approvals, notifications and all that stuff. Other vendors have similar end-to-end solutions.
    Comments? Thanks

    Hi there,
I've been trying to find more information about the same subject but it does not seems to be a very popular issue, I'm shocked!
I've learned that 10g came with a workflow server buy it's not longer offered in 11g. The reason of course is to sell oracle BPMN/BPEL; unfortunately these tools are way out of my budget, they are good tools but extremely costly.
Therefore, i've done some research about open source alternative that i could merge with apex applications to include routing, approvals via email, notifications, etc. And luckly there are a lot, too many to list, take a look at the link below

Let me know if you find osme other alternatives,

  • How to invoke the running process via email or watch folder?

    Hi,
I initial a process in workspace using a pdf form(xfaFrom type) variable.
It's a simple process. Just one assign task node to transfer the initial form to process creater.
The process works fine when submit in workspace. But I have some problem on offline submit.
I initialed the form on workspace and saved it to local file to edit it.
After editing the pdf form, how to let the local saved form go back to the process whith the correct data?
Here is my variable setting in process:
    form type: xfaForm
render service : render PDF form (in forms sample catagory)
submit service : Submit PDF Form (in forms sample catagory)
I've tried to use email endpoint.
It will be back to the next step of the process, but the data will not be transfer to the form.
Then I've tried to use watchFolder endpoint.
And it did not work by some exceptions.

    hi
The problem is not completely solved.
The solved part is countinue the process by Email and there is still need to be soloved by watch folder. Here are some steps.
First, I set the email endpoint on "complete task" service(in process management catagory). Then configure the input parameter of the endpoint. The attachment parameter set to *.* and the mail from set to %SENDER%.
Second, the xfa form variable of process must have process fields and use the default render. So the process field data which are required to counitnue the process will be keeped.
    Then it worked.
But when I check the "complete task" component(process management --> task notification catagory) used in "complete task" process. Some input parameters(Sender, attachment map) are required and can't be found if using watch folder. So there is still a problem by using watch folder.

  • Cant sign into iTunes with VPP manager email address

Is anyone else having difficulty signing into iTunes with their Apple VPP account manager email address? I work as an IT contractor for a number of schools and in the past have set up VPP so that paid and free apps can be distributed via an MDM solution. Recently, the process by which we do this isn't working any more. Apple have admitted in emails that they have changed the way that VPP accounts are set up on their end and that during the transition some accounts were processed incorrectly (causing a lot of headaches and confusion). In one instance, we set up the VPP manager account using a distribution list email address of .*******. later, we enabled two step verification and provisioned the facilitator account. but when we sent to sign into the iTunes store with the management accounts email address, we got the error message: "this email is associated with he VPP program". We have told apple about this who replied with a frustrating tautology: "our records indicate that that address is associated with the VPP program, so you will have to use another email address to sign into iTunes." Trouble is, for the purposes of information management, we cant just sign into iTunes with any old email address, we have to use one provisioned by the education department, and they wont provision another email address for this.. Also, we have screenshots which demonstrate that it is possible to sign into iTunes with the program manager account at other schools, so what has changed? If this keeps up, I will have no choice but to recommend to all schools in future that they not go with Apple because their account provision system is not maintained at a professional level.  The fact that they are so slow moving on this makes me look bad and the lack of documentation is inexcusable given the massive profits they have been posting.  I will campaign vehemently against the use of apple in education unless this situation changes for the better.  Already one school on our books have had an absolute gut-full of and have sold off the 60 iPads they purchased in favor of Android tablets with custom ROMS. What is the solution and why is there no phone number for Apple VPP in Australia?
    <Edited by Host>

I know this post is over a year old. We setup our VPP account in Feb last year. It's very frustrating.
This is what I wrote to Apple.
    This whole system *****!!!!
Seriously. I sign up under the old system and now we have to go through more doors to get in than a gold refinery.
You honestly think your product is worth this much pain. Get real!!!
I work at a school as THE ONLY IT Support Officer. I setup a generic user account for VPP under the old system so that the account was not tied to my name just in case I left or someone else had to take over the role. Now we cant use that account to manage the VPP account. We have to create other admin accounts. Trouble is, most of us already have our personal emails attached to iTunes accounts, AND YOUR SYSTEM WON'T LET US USE THESE ACCOUNTS TO BE ADMINS FOR OUR VPP ACCOUNT BECAUSE THEY ARE ALREADY ATTACHED TO AN ITUNES ACCOUNT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now I'm home and I can't remember my logon password and cant recall my recovery key because it's all back at work on a system I cant access until 2 weeks from now when the school holidays are over.
Well done Apple, you managed to make Microsoft look good!
The generic email account we setup is a distribution list account for the purposes of adding and removing people as needed. Apples change now means that we have to create more email accounts. I won't be doing that any time soon, I already have 5 and not about to create moer.
I too will not be recommending that schools go with Apple products. They are a consumer product, not an enterprise product. The promise you the world and all you get is pain.

Try replacing the .dll file with the one in your WINDOWS directory. I had that problem and I copied the .dll from C:/WINDOWS/system32 to overwrite the one located in the install directory.

  • Help Needed-Initiating a process through Email.

Now i am working on a process which i have to initiate a process through email.ie A user will fill the form offline and he will submit the form to the manager through email submitt button.so it consists of two forms,form1 and form2.form1 is for initial user and form2 is for manager.so when the manager recieves the form and email, all the data of the form1 should get bound to form2.here i am facing an issue.i have created email endponit for the process and i am using gmail as the email serever .i have configured all the settings in the email endpoint .i have created two vriables for holding the xml data and the manager form.

If both forms share a common schema, the manager should see the data in form2.
Otherwise, you have to transfer data from form1 to form2 using SetValue activity or XSL Transformations.

  • Centrally managing email marketing preferences in the enterprise

I would work a very large company made of several business units.  We have several instances of Eloqua as well as a few other automated marketing solutions for each business unit being used globally.   Our challenge is centrally managing email preferences in a place that can talk to all of those instances of Eloqua (and if we are lucky, other applications as well).  At its core we'd like to give users the ability to unsubscribe to a specific brand, or globally.  Then, when campaigns are sent from those disperate Eloqua instances, it can check on those unsubscribes before sending the email.
Is there a way to do this in Eloqua?  Is there a recommended third party tool to manage email preferences and has the ability to interface with Eloqua?

Possible Now might be able to handle this scenario - they are not quite live with an Eloqua integration and I am not sure of their ability for multiple instance support.
The other alternative is to build out a central data warehouse and, via API update all of the Eloqua instances with the unsubscribe data.
(a third option is to centralize your Eloqua instances - usually needs some process/people changes too)
