Process tasks execution flow

Hi,
* When a provisioning process starts, the first one is System Validation.
* Next, all un-conditional tasks run.
* Tasks can trigger additional tasks based on the mapping with the response code and these tasks run.
I wanted to get clarified whether preceding and depedent tasks will tell us which tasks have to run prior to running the current or will they also add the list of tasks in the execution flow ??
Thanks,
Durgaprasad

Hi,
Yes, you can define the order of process task execution using preceding and dependent tasks. These tsk will be executed after the System Validation task is completed. And these task should be unconditional, preceding-dependent task tab does not work for conditional tasks.
For example:
You can have Create user task as a unconditional task and another Send mail notification to the user. Add this send mail notification task as a dependent task of the create user task. So when Create User task completed successfully , send mail notification task will be triggered. This is just for example, you can define task as per your requirement.
Thanks,
Pallavi

Plz guide me what is the flow of process order execution ?

In this Business Scenario, the manufacturer is able to control the process order execution with a single, adaptable interface to the shop floor operator. He defines rules for the account assignment and settlement of the costs incurred. Meanwhile production-relevant data can be exchanged from process control systems via different interfaces like OPC (OLE for Process Control) or PI-PCS directly. This ensures that all data from lot start to lot finish can be captured by the batch management before the product is released for final delivery.
    Hope this helps you.

  • DWLoader works in SSIS Execution Process Task?

Does anyone knows if PDW's DWLoader works in SSIS Execution Process Task? Is there a sample?
I struggle to find documentation on using DWLoader.exe in Execution Process Task (EPT) of SSIS. There are articles in PDW BOL about DWLoader.exe or SSIS to load data, however, there is no article I
can find about using DWLoader.exe in Execution Process Task SSIS. I'd expect SSIS to behave the same way as we execute it in Command Prompt.
A working (dwloader.exe) command string when putting to run in [Execution Process Task] in SSIS failed and it is hard to trap the errors. Tried writing the error out in my command string, as well as setting the StandardErrorVariable of the task, neither
one caught the details about the error. I also put the same command string in a bat file and then ran it, it worked. I then used EPT to run my bat, that actually succeeded. (That indicated to me Execution Process Task might have interpreted my string differently).

    Hi there,
I am trying to use the dwloader utility to load data into a PDW database. I have created a batch file with the following syntax:
    dwloader.exe  -M fastappend -m -i "D:\SS\DATA_LOAD.txt" -T BATCH_V0.dbo.ATC_LOAD_TBL -R "D:\SS\LoadErrors_ATC.bad" -t "|" -r "\r\n"  "yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss.fff" -E -S 10.11.12.13 -U ATC_Login -P Password > "D:\SS\Error.log"
But the execution fails everytime. The error log gets generated but its empty. Can someone help me with the syntax? Am I missing something here?
    Thanks in advance,

  • Execute process task argument is not working for sph file and ogr2ogr.exe

    Hi All,
I am trying to load shape file into a sql spatial table. A execution process task is used to run the ogr2ogr.exe program.
This is how the process tab looks like .
    Executable : C:\gdal_ogr2ogr\bin\gdal\apps\ogr2ogr.exe
    Argument :  -f MSSQLSpatial   MSSQL:server=SQL-ABC-DEV;database=MYSIMPLE_Dev;Trusted_Connection=True;\\mypath\files\shares\Data\www.mypage.htm\my_sample_file.shp
Success value : 1 (I am not sure why I need to change this value from 0 to 1.
For above settings, package runs fine. However the spatial table is not created always. It is created once in a while after switching Success value from 1 to 0 and 0 to 1 again. (After the spatial table is created, it is dropped using a execute sql statement).
I am running this in VS 2012.I saw in an article that we need to convert shp file to csv before we load it into sql server.I even tried to convert shp to csv using execute sql task and ogr2ogr.exe. Still the package runs successfully after changing Success
value from 0 to 1 but no csv file is created. If the success value is 0, it throws the following error.
    [Execute Process Task] Error: In Executing "C:\gdal_ogr2ogr\bin\gdal\apps\ogr2ogr.exe" " -f CSV \\xxxxxxxxr.rdn\files\shares\xxx_Data\ImportData\www.xxxxxxx.hapepage.htm\xxxxxx\Watches\Warnings\myfile\CSV \\xxxxxxxxr.rdn\files\shares\xxx_Data\ImportData\www.xxxxxxx.hapepage.htm\xxxxxx\Watches\Warnings\myfiles\www.shp"

Could long file name be a problem too?
Thanks for your help in advance..

    Hello shamen,
Seems to me you are missing a step to check if the shape is there and purge it before loading if so.

  • Execute Process Task showing all the SSIS Config variables in SQL Job History

    Hi,
Am using an Execute Process task to execute my child package. And executing the Parent package from a SQL JOB.
I am using the same config file for both Parent and Child packages.
After the Job execution was Successful / Failure, in Job history it is showing all the variables from Config file which are not using in Child package. With the below message.
"The package path referenced an object that cannot be found"
I don't want to catch all the Variables information in Job History. Instead I need only the Success / Failure message.

  • Calling ADF page Custom Listener (Ex: ActionListener) from BPM Process Task (APPROVE/REJECT)

    Hi All,
    Jdeveloper version - 11.1.1.7
I am very new to BPM / SOA development, but I have very good development skills on ADF.
I am not using ADF BC, using EJB for business services and also using custom ADF pages for HumanTasks.
    Usecase:
From the BPM Process task, when process submission (APPROVE / REJECT) , I need to invoke a Custom listener (Ex.Action Listener - a EJB call) in the ADF page.
I am trying to use BPM APIs.
Please clarify me how this will achieve using BPM APIs. I need detail guidelines to do it. Please make to understand this process.
Provide some useful documentation or links to understand the following:
    1. Custom Human task pages
    2. BPM APIs - 11.1.1.7
    3. Call a BPM process task from ADF Listener and Call a ADF Listener from BPM Process task - Using BPM APIs.
    Please revert more clarifications needed.

    Hi Joonas.
Plese let me explain me better for your understanding
A big summary for what I meant it's the following:
1- In the procces you made, when you add the HT activity, you have to implement it, this means declare the input(s) parameters you want. This implementation create the .task file.
2- Create an application, and projects as HT you have. Each poject are based on the .task file, and automatically create a Data Control (for each project based on a .task) with all you need.
This w'll be an empty application, so you can customize it all you want. The task selected should have all the parameters previously defined. Those parameters can change if you want.
2- Create a page(s) in the task flow for the task implementation. You can even split the the payload of the task in differents pages, create your custom pages and any logic you need.
3- An important aspect is how to match these application with the HT implemented in the process. It's possible, it's a configuration en the Enterprise Manager.
    4- Deploy your application
All these are explain in the book I mentioned
Th book you can find it here:

  • When Hard-coded server name and data base name are replaced with variables , execute process task does not produce the result

    Hi All,
I am trying to load shape file into a sql spatial table. A execution process task is used to run the ogr2ogr.exe program.
This is how the process tab looks like .
    Executable : C:\gdal_ogr2ogr\bin\gdal\apps\ogr2ogr.exe
    Argument :  -f MSSQLSpatial   MSSQL:server=SQL-ABC-DEV;database=MYSIMPLE_Dev;Trusted_Connection=True;\\mypath\files\shares\Data\www.mypage.htm\my_sample_file.shp
    Success value : 1
For above settings, package runs fine. The spatial table is created in SQL server db. However when hard-coded SQL server name and database name are replaced with global variables , the spatial table is not created in the database. Yet the package runs fine.
It does not throw any errors. (I am using another variable for full file path. It is not causing any errors though)
    " -f MSSQLSpatial   MSSQL:server="+@[$Project::SQLServerName]+";database="+ @[$Project::DatabaseName] +";Trusted_Connection=True;"+ @[User::Filepath] + "\\my_sample_file.shp"
Both variables are string type. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong here please?
I am running this in VS 2012.
Thanks for your help in advance..
    shamen

There should be a single space just after True:
    before
    " -f MSSQLSpatial   MSSQL:server="+@[$Project::SQLServerName]+";database="+ @[$Project::DatabaseName] +";Trusted_Connection=True;"+ @[User::Filepath] + "\\my_sample_file.shp"
    after keeping the space
    " -f MSSQLSpatial   MSSQL:server="+@[$Project::SQLServerName]+";database="+ @[$Project::DatabaseName] +";Trusted_Connection=True; "+ @[User::Filepath] + "\\my_sample_file.shp"

  • Pass Passord Variable to a Batch File using Execute Process Task

I have an FTP batch file that I want to execute using Execute Process Task. The content of the ftp (ftpscript.cmd) is as below:
    open ftpsite
    UserName
    Password
    ASCII
    get file  c:\temp\test.txt
    bye
Using SSIS Execute process task, I was able to download data. I configured the Execute Process task as follows:
    Executable: ftp.exe
    Arguments: -s:"c:\temp\ftpscript.cmd"
The above works fine. But the problem is that I don't want to store the password value in the batch file for security/policy reasons. Please, is there a way I can pass the password value to the ftp executable or the batch file at run time?
I know how to get and store variables in SSIS but I don't know how to pass this kind of variable to the batch file just before execution.
Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

you can dynamically generate the source (CMD) for the FTP and delete after the execution. The password can be stored in a secure database for example, not 100 % secure, but the best you can do.
Another option I did was an encrypted VBScript (also quite easy to open in plain text to some people).
Finally it can be a binary e.g. an EXE with the FTP called as process in it.

  • Regarding Execution flow in webdynpro component

    Hi all,
I am confused regarding the execution flow.
we have "component controller" and "view controller" in a webdynpro component.
I have written some code in "wdDoInit" of  "component controller" and in "wdDoInit" of "view controller" and in "wdDoModifyView" of  "view controller" .
If I do "Deploy and Run " the application , Which one is executed first ,I mean how is the code processed ,where the control reaches first?
    Thanks in advance.

In a web dynpro application there is always a interface view specified.
This interface view is associated with a window. The window has set of views with one as default view.
When Web Dynpro application is launched, the window is instantiated via interface view specified. The window after instantiation is rendered on the brower/some other UI client.
The window when instantiated will instantiate the default view also. So wdDoInit of view controller will be called now. Now if navigation happens to some other view in the window that particular view has to be instantiated. So the wdDoInit of that view will be called then.
    Is your question answered ?

  • Execute Process Task Error - Powershell script

I've got a powershell script that is executed through a Execute Process Task that is giving me an error when executed through the Execute Package Utility on a 64bit server.
"c:\windows\system32\windowspowershell\v1.0\powershell.exe" ""& 'C:\CubeArchive\Linked DB to XMLA.ps1'"" at "", The process exit code was "1" while the expected was "0".
    Here's the rub:
It runs fine from Visual Studio on that server.
On my local maching (32bit), it runs fine from both Visual Studio and Execute package Utility.
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?
    Thanks,
    Jason

    Ok - found the problem.
This is the first time that I'm using powershell.
I had set the ExecutionPolicy on that machine to unrestricted from the powershell console beforehand.
But unknown to me, this setting was only applicable to the 32 bit environment.
I set the 64 bit environment to unrestricted and it worked. (I added another Execution Process Task to the package to set this before hand - I only did this once and now can remove it.)
I thought that the setting for powershell would be server wide, I didn't know that there was a distinction of the 32 bit and 64 bit environments.
    Thanks,
    Jason

  • Task executions in multi server environment

    Hi All,
I have a question regarding the task execution in a multi-server environment.
    Below is the scenario:
We have two SIM applications: one for intranet users (employees and contractors) and one for extranet users (customers). Both these applications point to same database repository.
    Intranet : idm-intra.ear ( this is deployed on IntraServer1 and IntraServer2)
Extranet: idm-extra.ear ( this is deployed on ExtraServer1 and ExtraServer2)
And both share same repository WAVESET.
Now we are deploying some request workflows for intranet users. In our case even the extranet application can see these tasks.
My question is: if I triggered a request workflow from intranet application and it is pending for approval and when it times out, is there a chance that this workflow is executed by the "extranet" application?
    Thanks,
    kIDMan.

The answer to your question is yes. If you go to the Configure>>Server tab in the admin console on any of these instances of IdM you should see all four instances. An easy way to test this is happening, is to enable workflow tracing and launch a couple of request from IntraServer1. IdM will try to distribute the work among all the servers it knows about so you'll see portions of the flow within the workflow traces on the individual servers. Well maybe it's not an easy thing to test because it's a timing issue.......
I had an issue recently in which the guy doing the build to the QA environment messed up and pointed the QA IdM instances to the DEV repository. We were doing some testing of some flows on DEV and they were being executed on the QA IdM instances and bombing out with ClassNotFound errors because the QA environment was not build out completely/correctly. So even though the requests were being launched from the DEV instances they were being executed on the QA instances.
There is a feature that is supposed to let you restrict which workflows run on which servers. If you go to the admin console and click on Configure>>Servers choose a server and click on the 'Scheduler' tab and then check the 'Task Restrictions' checkbox. From here you can restrict which workflows run on which servers. But my suspicion is that this doesn't work correctly (based on some testing I was doing on 7.1)....might want to test it out....Hope this helps.

  • Making task execution a reality, in real-time, for critical industries

    Problem
Enterprise software systems like ERP identify what needs to be done, but fail to outline how these tasks should be executed, due in large part to operational processes which are typically locked in disparate procedural documents, forms and excel spreadsheets. This approach limits the visibility into internal operations, enhancement of management by exception, and predictive analytics.
In all of industries Mobideo targets, processes are managed traditionally with ERP software  where the tasks performed are manually documented, a process which is error prone and time consuming. In the Aerospace and Defense industry  for example, the Federal Aviation Administration concluded that documentation is the leading contributing factor to maintenance mishaps. These errors are specifically attributed to:
Failure to follow published technical data or local instructions
Using an unauthorized procedure not referenced in the technical data
Supervisory personnel accepting non-use of technical data or failure to follow maintenance instructions.

  • Passing Arguments to a Process Task

I have a Process Task inside a For Each Loop Container.
When I hardcode the arguments to a known id it works fine.
If I set the Arguments property to my variable as -> User::CustomerId nothing happens and it looks like nothing is passed.
This variable is set in a Script Task previously inside the For Each Loop container and I see it is set when I debug it.
I am a little lost as to what is happening.
    Anyone?
    Thanks,

    Try like this
    1. Put a breakpoint on the pre execute of the execute process task
    2. When package execution hits the breakpoint go to watch window and check the value set for variable
    3. Copy the value out and go to command prompt
    4. invoke the exe which execute process task calls with argument value you got from variable and then you will get the exact error message.
