Process visualization in BPEL console

Another question: Is there a way to see all the process, their structures(father/son), how they are working(not clicking on "audit")... in BPEL Console??
Thanks
Ema

in regards to the last 2 posts,
my best guess that your processes are all sync.. the reason why the treefinder is not showing them as parent - child, is because the execute all in the same thread so we don/t fill them with a parent id - which causes the treefinder not to show the relations ..If you look at the loanflow, the process and all its subprocesses are async .. I have to check if this is fixed in the latest release ..
hope this clarifies,
clemens

  • 10.1.3.5 - Unable to view process trace in BPEL Console

    Hi,
We recently upgraded to the 10.1.3.5 production version. After the upgrade I noticed that BPEL Processes flow does not render for processes which have more than 200 activities to render (this is an approximate number, am not sure what is the threshold when it begins to error out). The renderer fails with following message:
    failed to load resource: xmlGetAuditTrail.jsp?referenceId=bpel%3A//localhost/AP_V01_01/AP_ECOE%7E1.15/431669&id3j0son2=1
Before this on 10.1.3.1 it took about 3-4 minutes for some of the larger BPEL processes to render. Since I work on remote servers via vpn connection I have high latency to server (avg of 400ms). If I open a bpel process with small instance trace it works just fine. Only when opening processes with large process trace, I get this error. I've tried this with both IE and Firefox and get the same behavior.
I suspect this has to do with smaller timeout for the bpel process renderer. Is there a setting that can be tweaked to make this work or I should open a SR?

    Mrityunjay

And I face the same issue in version 11.1.1.3, installed on weblogic server 10.1.3. How do I overcome in this case.
What is the path and file name to increase rInfo.timeout (or similar property) parameter in weblogic.

  • BPEL processes not available on BPEL console when deployed from JDeveloper

Installation: SOA Suite 10.1.3.4 (Upgraded through patch) (Standalone OC4J)
When I deploy the BPEL processes through JDeveloper, they do not show up in the BPEL console. JDeveloper does not display any error message but in fact displays successful deploy. I am able to manually deploy processes from the BPEL console itself or by dropping in the BPEL suitcase in the deploy directory.
I noticed this issue when I tried installing AIA foundation pack 2.4. The installation showed the message below -
Failed to read wsdl at "http://AMVAIDYA-US:8888/orabpel/default/AIAErrorTaskAdministrationProcess/AIAErrorTaskAdministrationProcess?wsdl", because "Failed to read WSDL from http://AMVAIDYA-US:8888/orabpel/default/AIAErrorTaskAdministrationProcess/AIAErrorTaskAdministrationProcess?wsdl:WSDL not found".
Make sure wsdl is valid. You may need to start the OraBPEL server, or make sure the related bpel process is deployed correctly.
[Potential fix]: If your site has a proxy server, then you may need to configure your BPEL Server, designer and browser with your proxy server configuration settings (see tech note on http://otn.oracle.com/bpel for instructions).
I noticed that issue is independent of AIA since I cannot deploy any BPEL process through JDeveloper (or even through using the ant deploy in JDev)
    Please help!
    Thanks
    Amol

I did try the verbose=true option but there are no errors there. The ant deploy task shows up as successful just like it shows from the right click -> Deploy to domain on the BPEL project. I created a sample async BPEL for this - it has just one assign activity with some dummy values for output. It builds fine. If I deploy the jar file created from this manually in the console it works. But it doesnt work from JDev or Ant. Is there anything I missed during the upgrade patch from 10.1.3.1 to 10.1.3.4? I did execute all the post and pre install tasks (including the orabpel, oraesb schema updates etc)
FYI, I can register an ESB from JDeveloper and it shows up in the ESB console.

  • Complex XSD in BPEL not able to initiate from BPEL console

    Hi,
    The Problem
I have a BPEL application where I need to produce an XML file in the format of an XSD supplied by an external agency. I can build and compile and deploy an appropriate application. When I come to the BPEL console and attempt to initiate an instance of the application. The initiate option sits spinning and will eventually time-out (before I am able to run it).
    The descriptive stuff
The full XSD is available at; http://www.arc.gov.au/zip/SEER_Pilot_tech_pack_v1.ZIP
The schema design is of "homogeneous namespace design" (according to the article at http://www.xfront.com/ZeroOneOrManyNamespaces.html) which consists of multiple .xsd files included under into a single namespace. There are essentially 9 .xsd files. The top level xsd (seer.xsd) includes 3 files.
When I attempt to navigate to the initiate area to run the process in the BPEL console I end up (after timing out) with the java error listed at the end of this post appearing in our Enterprise Manager diagnostic log. The error appears to be a stack overflow from an attempt to load the complete schema distributed in multiple files.
    An imperfect solution
I have modified to XSD to include all the files into 2 schema files (seer.xsd and types.xsd), with seer.xsd still including the types.xsd. This then allows the BPEL to initiate and completes successfully as designed.
The XSDs are included in the project not separately deployed.
I don't want to modify the externally provided XSDs in this fashion. I do want to provide a working solution, that fulfills the requirement.
Any ideas, knowledge or help will be gratefully accepted.

  • Bpel Process invoking different BPEL process

    Hi all
We have a situation here. It goes like this.
We have a requirement to call another BPEL process from ours. The calling process is fine. But the called process threw a lot of error due to which we discarded it and created a new process. We have mapped the same to the original calling process. Now,even after undeploying the discarded process, our main process is still calling the old process that is not even there on server and is constantly completinh in an unintended manner.
If anyone has faced this issue previously, kindly throw some light on this.
    Vijay

I don't understand "mapped the same to the original calling process." If you created a new callED process with the same name as the original callED process, you will want to replace the callED processl partnerlink and WSDL in the callING process, as another poster suggested.
If the new callED process has the same name and exactly the same WSDL as the old one, you could be able to get away without changing the callING process. You have to be very careful to clear the old/bad callED process from the server. This may be overkill, but I suggest doing this in the BPEL console:
    - Select the old/bad process in the BPEL console, go to the Manage tab, select Undeploy.
    - Go to the Administration tab, Actions subtab, hit the Clear WSDL Cache button.
    - Delete all files from your JDeveloper BPEL project output folder and recompile.
    - Deploy your process to the BPEL server.
    Good Luck!

  • Some failed BPEL processes are not tracked in BPEL Console (not hydrated)

    Hi all.
I'm experiencing a problem at a customer which has a standalone BPEL install (they use BPEL 10.1.3.1 only)
The customer is complaing that, due to some process errors, the BPEL process fails but, the process final state is not hydrated to database, so it's not possible to track the process execution.
I built a simple test case and tested against BPEL 10.1.3.1 and 10.1.3.3. The test consists of:
1 - A synchronous BPEL process using an Assign activity.
2 - In the assign, I force an error condition, for example copying the expression parseEscapedXML('some bad xml string') to a variable.
3 - I execute the BPEL process using the console
4 - The process finishes with error, but you don't get any instance in the "Recently Completed BPEL Process Instances"
This is a critical problem as we cannot track both what was successfully executed and what has failed.
Failed instances like this one are obviously logged in appserver files, but this is not an accpectable monitoring alternative.
This is even more critical because the customer does not have Enterprise Service Bus to mediate execution, where I could certainly track those failed ones.
    Any ideas?
Is it possible to force hydration of all types of failed processes?
    Thanks
    Denis

Additional info: Having the process "In Flight" due to the checkpoint and subsequent "error", if I manually abort the instance and visualize the audit flow, I can see which activity has caused the error.
    For example:
1 - I execute the process. It executes the checkpoint() and the ora:parseEscapedXML(), which causes the process to terminate unexpectedly.
2 - The process remains "In-Flight". If I go to the audit flow, it shows that the process has reached the checpoint activity, and nothing further.
    3 - I manually abort the instance
4 - I check the audit flow again. This time I can see the flow beyond the checpoint, until the activity that caused the process to terminate (in this case the assign containing the parseScapedXML)
What I conclude is that, when I manually abort the instance, BPEL hydrates the process part that was only "in memory" (the actual point where the process has stoped)

  • Problem to start BPEL Console of Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.1.0

    Hi everyone!
I'm writing to yours because I installed Oracle BPEL Process Manager 10.1.3.1.0 but I can't start BPEL Console. I tried to start it by the option menu of Windows XP and by Developer Prompt, but I get a HTTP 404 Not Found page. When I was installing the universall installer told me that it wasn't possible to set ORACLE_HOME variable because it had a value older than 1023 characteres. So, I continue the installation but I can't start the BPEL Console. The Dos Console teld me sometimes when I put http://localhost:9700/BPELConsole..timed out. So, tell me how to resolve that problem.
    I'll be waiting your responses.

    Thanks for your responses.
    Greetings.

    Hi,
    you said:
it wasn't possible to set ORACLE_HOME variable because it had a value older than 1023 characteres
What do you mean with older than 1023 chars?
I think the easiest way is to uninstall the BPEL Console and run the installer again with correcting the ORACLE_HOME problem...

  • BPEL Processes are not showing in BPEL Console after OPMN restart

    Hi All,
BPEL Processes are not showing in BPEL Console after OPMN restart. It was showing earlier before restart.
Can some one help on this?
    Thanks

    Vikky,
    Are you using 10g?
If BPELConsole is up but you don't see any process, you can go to the log files and see what is the problem.
It might relates to permissions, or DB issues etc....

  • BPEL Console not showing input fields for process

I'm having a problem with our BPEL processes. When testing them in the BPEL Console the form for entering the input fields does not appear, even when switched to XML entry instead of HTML.
The problem seems to occur in processes which take their input schemas from a different directory from the BPEL process. This was working fine in Oracle 10.1.2. We can successfully load the schema by entering its URL, and if the process is started without entering any data, the input message is correctly generated, just with all fields empty. So it seems like the schema is being found.
When both the input and output schemas are specified inline in the project WSDL file, it works correctly. The problem occurs when referencing the schema in a different location. We have numerous projects which share common schemas, so specifying them all in-line is not a workable solution.
Has anyone else encountered this problem, or found a solution to it?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Process Instances do not appear in BPEl console

    HI everybody
I have a Asyn BPEL worflow which consists of a receive business event lisening to a change in database which in turn initiates a BPEL flow. The problem i am facing is that when i do make a change in database everything works fine but i am not able to see the process instances generated , in BPEL console instantly. I have to restart the BPEL server one or more time in order to view them on the console. have any body faced a similar prob ??

SOA version ? Able to see the processes in the manual recovery section ? Processes disappear or insatnces ?
Errors in the logs ? What happens if you randomly click on various tabs of the console - still unable to see the previous instances ?

  • Deployed processes stopped showing up in BPEL console

    Hello,
Our BPEL processes stopped picking up business events; BPEL console dashboard is empty. After, restarting oc4j_soa instance on secondary node, BPEL process picked up business events. After few minutes, BPEL process showed in console.
After one day, BPEL processes disappeared from console.
Following is the error message, I see in soa_err*.log on all nodes after the last successful pick up.

Also, EM console does not show any web services for ORABPEL application.
What do I need to do make the deployed process show up in BPEL console?
    Regards,
    Siva

I ran into a BPEL_OC4J_SOAP_Provider error today and it was related to my proxy. The proxy on my local machine with JDeveloper would allow a WSDL with an unqualified name through. For instance, the machine kronos:7779 would validate, compile, and deploy from my machine. But looking up the WSDL on the server would produce the above described error. When I changed the name of the server to kronos.whatever.com:7779 it worked as expected on the server.

  • Instance not found in BPEL Console until Process finished

I have two services on the server, where one (asynchronous) service is calling another (synchronous) service multiple times.
WHen creating an instance in the BPEL Console, this instance is nowhere to be found. When trying to see the flow, an error message occurs in the console and on the BPEL server window:

Interestingly, the instances of the (synchronous) service, which are called from the mysterious service, are visible all the time and the flow can be viewed while these services are processed.
Does anybody have an idea why this is happening?
    Thank you,
    Nina

    Hi,
I don't understand this behaviour in detail, by now. Could you please state if this is correct?
    1. I call an async bpel process A.
    2. The message is put in the delivery queue.
    3. My client is free again, not blocking.
    4. Process A does not show up in Console by now. (If I would call checkpoint(), it would do).
    5. A worker takes the message and instantiates the Process A.
    6. Process A instance is running now, calling some sync processes.
    7. NO dehydration so far.
    8. Process A does not show up in Console by now. The called subprocess (sync) do show up, if they are completed.
    9. Loop to 6, until Process A ends and makes callback to client.
    10. After sending callback, Process A shows up in Console.
    11. Now I can monitor, what HAS happened.
I understand, that you can't commit your process data, until a regular dehydration point is reached.
But consequence: I can't even SEE that there exists a process instance from A, until it worked through all the steps above. I just see a swarm of sub processes without an existing parent.
That's the behaviour, you call "intended"?
Workaround would be to do dehydration after each bpel invoke activity. Do you see a problem in doing this?
    Thanks in advance!
    Torsten
