Process without an Enter or Submit button?

This is something I've now tried for several weeks. I know it can be done because I see the swf files but after an all nighter and this being the third time that I've revisited this figure it's about time to ask the pro's.
How does one have calculations or conversions happen instantly as values are entered? No submit button, no enter, just as they type. So if they entered 1 in input box one then obviously nothing will happen but uppon entering data in the second I want the results text field to display the answer. So basically an eventlistener but not listening to a button but rather the input text field.
Here's an example of that being done. I would love to be able to peak inside this swf to see what this person did.
http://dantrix.net/my_Files/Converter/currencyConverter.swf

just use:
text1.addEventListener(Event.CHANGE,fCalculate);

    I am trying to set up my newly purchased Apple TV but when I enter my network password while setting up, I am not able to enter the Submit button, any idea how to hit the visible submit button that is visible on screen but not responding?

    You need to use the right arrow on the remote to go all the way to the right. The submit button will be highlighted and you can then press select on the remote to proceed.

  • Need to display processing icon on click of submit button

    Hi all,
    I need to display a processing message like "Please wait....Request being processed" whenever the user clicks on submit button.There is a PL/SQL process which inserts data into the database on click of submit button.As this insertion would take time, I need to display a processing message as mentioned earlier.
    My approach was to create a javascript function and call it from the URL redirect section . when this option is selected,the processing message is displayed..but the PL/SQL process is not executed as the URL is redirected...
    Any help would be greatly appreciated....
    Thanks

    To some degree, it will depend on just how long you think the process will take to run. If you think it's going to take several minutes (thus risking your page timing out), an approach I have taken is to run a process on submit which kicks off an oracle job (do a search for DBMS_SCHEDULER if this doesn't mean anything to you) thereafter, periodically repoll the page - you could go for a javascript method if you don't want to keep re-submitting the page - which checks to see if the job has completed.
    Once the job completes, you just show the data (or do whatever you need to do to indicate completion to the user).
    It does require a fair bit of conditional display and process control to pull off, but it is achievable.

  • Use checkboxes with drop down and submit button to pas values

    I have a form with six checkboxes, one drop down, and one submit button. I want the check box ON values to be appended to the hyperlinks stored in the drop down. The onclick event of the submit button sends the form results to a url with the checkbox values appended to the end of the hyperlink in the drop down. Need code please. Several programmers have bailed out on this when they got down to the event in the submit button. Can you Sun experts do better??? Here is the code for the form WITHOUT a properly programmed submit button and no javascript.

  • How to prevent multiple clicks of submit buttons in OAF Pages

    Hi All,
    Our page takes around 30 seconds to 1 minute for processing.
    Some users are not patient enough. I have tried putting the below code in my PR method.
    OAWebBean body = pageContext.getRootWebBean();
        if (body instanceof OABodyBean)
        ((OABodyBean)body).setBlockOnEverySubmit(true);
    This code disables submit button for some time. After few seconds, the submit button can be clicked again by the user.
    Also, if I click on other browser window and come back to OAF page, the submit button can be clicked again immediately.
    Have also searched OAF forum but didn't find any satisfactory answer.
    Need answer from Oracle on this. If not answered on the forum, will raise an SR.

    Hi Amit,
    Try using the Processing Symbol , after clicking the Submit button. Which does shows you processing clock symbol once you click Submit Button.

  • 'ENTER' key for Submit Button

    Hi,
    I have 1 inputfield , 1 dropdown and 1 submit button in a page. I want to execute submit button always when you click 'ENTER'.
    Now when i click enter from inputField it process something and in background there is no event triggered.But from dropdownbox nothing happens when i click 'ENTER' key.
    Is there any way to assigne 'ENTER' key to the submit button(<htmlb:button) always?
    Thanks in advance
    AP

    Hi,
      It looks like SubmitOnEnter is not available in my verions of htmlb. I just looked into some javacode,
    I have 2 page, Initial and Report,
    Initial page has the code,
    <script>
    document.onkeydown=function(){
    if(event.keyCode==13){document.forms.initial.submit()}}
    </script>
        <htmlb:form id     = "initial"
                    method = "post"
                    action = "Report.htm" >\
          <htmlb:inputField id            = "TranNumber"
                            type          = "string"
                            value         = "<%= INIT-TranNumber %>" />
          <htmlb:button id      = "SUBMITVALUES"
                        text    = "EXECUTE"
                        onClick = "HandleSubmit" />
    </htmlb:form>
    Report page captures it as,
    CLASS CL_HTMLB_MANAGER DEFINITION LOAD.
    IF event_id = CL_HTMLB_MANAGER=>EVENT_ID.
      DATA: EVENT TYPE REF TO CL_HTMLB_EVENT.
      EVENT = CL_HTMLB_MANAGER=>GET_EVENT( runtime->server->request ).
      IF EVENT IS NOT INITIAL.
        CASE EVENT->ID.
          WHEN 'SUBMITVALUES'.
            DATA: TranNumber TYPE REF TO CL_HTMLB_INPUTFIELD.
             TranNumber ?= CL_HTMLB_MANAGER=>GET_DATA(
                          request = runtime->server->request
                          name    = 'inputField'
                          id      = 'TranNumber').
        ENDCASE.
      ENDIF.
    ENDIF.
    Basically the no event is not fired. so it is not coming into the Case.
    How to handle this?
    Thank you

  • Possible to send POST data WITHOUT a submit button?

    Is it possible to send POST data without a submit button, but

    I need to process a form's POST values before sending some

    You can't send client-side data with server-side scripting, I
    think. You
    can do it with javascript, but then your form is dependent on
    js being
    enabled....

  • How to clear the data in my page after user enter submit button

    hi......
    how to clear the data's in my page after user enter submit button. Actually while pressing first time itself the data is uploaded in database.

    Hi Nazeer,
    Instead of doing it on the same button better create a separate button for this functionality, As per my understanding you want to clear these fields to create new record so that you can enter a new record so for this you just need to insert a new row in VO.
    Still if you want to do it on the same button then you need to put the check that particular record is not dirty if it is not then create new record else create new record.
    One more thing if you will clear on the second click of a button how will you update your record??

  • Is it possible to set up a form with a submit button where the data in the fields gets added to an existing excel file, just like 'collect response' but without connecting to the internet?

    I have a form that I want to use to collect peoples information with a submit button. I am trying to get the data that gets inserted to be added to an existing excel doc when the submit button gets hit, the form then resets and someone else can fill in the same form, hit submit and his data gets added to the existing data in the same excel doc. It is basically the same as the 'collecting response' option but without having to be online. The form is going to be used at a boat-show and I am going to get people to fill it out on an iPad. Does anybody know if this is possible?

    You could connect a bunch of 3700s to each computer and do this .
    Or...since you're the one who monitors the monthly limit, you could restrict an individual's internet access once you see that you guys are coming too close to the cap.

  • How to use the submit button without an email address

    We are changing the way one of our forms is used.  Previously the "submit by email" button opened up an email with a specific TO: address.  Now we like to have the user put in the address but still have the form attached to the email when it is opened.
    Has anyone done this or does anyone have an idea how we can accomplish this?

    Place a HTTP submit button in your form and update the User Entered email using the below script.
    YourHTTPSubmitButton.event__click.submit.target = "mailto:" + txtEmailField.rawValue

  • 2 Submit Buttons --- doesn't process form

    I previously was utilizing one button and the cancelAction command. However, this was causing the form to be submitted when used in the preSubmit event.
    I have recently implemented a 2 submit button solution to a form, which works beautifly for validation. All my edits are executed when they are suppose to be. However, now the form does not submit. When I click the complete button, noting happens.
    I have regular button name Validate, where I do all of my edit checks, and it calls the click event of a submit button, Button1, if all edits pass. I use the command Button1.execEvent("click");
    The click event of Button1 is greyed out, not sure if that is an issue.
    Has anyone ever encountered this before?

    Hi,
    I am guessing that you have used a submit by email button, which automates the submit process. As a result it does not have a click event. I would recommend using a regular button with script in its click event that will do the submit. There are examples of single button submit here, which you should be able to adapt for your hidden submit/regular button: http://assure.ly/eUR4wJ.
    Hope that helps,
    Niall

  • Distribute fillable pdf without Submit Button

    I have created a pdf form in Live Cycle. When I go to distribute it (so it will be fillable/saveable) it include a "Submit Button" which is used to email/upload the document to a server. The button is located in the purple heading on Adobe Reader.
    I do not want this and need to remove it. I do not need to email this document through this method nor upload it to a server.
    I know this can be done as I have done it before but it has been over a year. I removed it previously and it had something to do with your Adove identity and had to "trick" Adobe to not pull your domain email address. I vaguely remember it was a setting for ghost/anonymous setting or something to that effect.
    Can anyone help me? I just want to distribute a fillable form without being able to submit it through a button on the forum.
    I have Adobe Pro 9 and Adobe LiveCycle Designer ES 8.2.
    Thank you!

    Hi,
    If you do a search for Document Message Bar on this forum, you will find plenty of discussions on it.
    When you distribute a form it is taking the email address that is associated with Acrobat. So if edit this in Acrobat preferences, it may help:

  • Submit Button In Workbench process stalls

    Hi all, I am new to workbench, and just getting my head around all this.
    I am looking at the mortgage loan example, and I start the process fine, but when I click on the submit button, it gives me a blank page, and the to do is still there.
    to do (1)
    There is a message in the bottom of the browser (In the bottom bar) that cycles between "Transferring Data" and "Waiting for reply"
    Is the form being sent to the wrong place?
    Thank you all for your help.

    I am Mish's college.
    There is definitely something wrong with the default submit service.
    Form:
    * pdf, non enabled (although enabled now produces the same results)
    * form fields included using the designer, no modifications
    Workflow:
    * using standard render
    * using standard submit (that is enable submit service is NOT clicked)
    * routes are Approve, Deny
    * buttons do NOT display in the flex UI (on open form) but as drop downs in the form (this behavior changed i believe around SP2, before they showed in the flex UI)
    * if "User must select a route to continue" is checked livecycle throws an error "submit service ... route: null invalid" and the submit stalls
    * if "User must select a route to continue" is unchecked the process ALWAYS chooses the first route regardless of what is selected (regardless of the browser)
    A few observations:
    * The two quick buttons still show on the process card, selecting deny from here does select the correct path
    * enabling the "send form to user" in server settings and submitting the form from there (using complete task + email endpoint) selects the correct path
    This leads me to believe that the form is working as intended, that the buttons are correctly identified but that something in SP2 broke the flex UI with an open form.
    All of the 20 forms we are using displays the same behavior, even creating a workflow out of two elements (a user that links back to itself with deny and an empty decision point with approve) does not solve the issue.
    So to solve this issue i have to add a condition to the first route (or all routes) that check /proces_data/*form*//AWS_ACTION
    This seems to be a workaround although it is pretty silly
