Processing of aquired signal during aquisition (arrays?)
Hello,
I'm aquiring a voltage signal from a thermistor using DAQ and Labview. I'm using "for-loop" in Labview for that. Is it possible to take my previous readings of the voltage signal (through A/D channel), say, V(i-1), compare it to its current value V(i) and if a comparison condition holds - "freeze" V(i-1) and feed it continuously to a D/A channel,etc.
I'm basically trying to work with "arrays" in Labview, but can't get the voltage array previous values during the aquisition and manipulate with it during the aquisition.
Thanks.
Kostya
To get at the V(i-1) value just use a shift register, then make your comparison and use a select. I'm not sure whether your array is for the history of one thermistor or several different thermistors. Take a look at the picture it shows both a single channel and 3 channels. To initialise the shift register you can do a single measurement before you go into the loop.

ORA-279 signalled during recovery of standby database
Hi All,
I am preparing standby database after taking hot backup and copying those datafiles to standby,
taken controlfile standby controlfile backup from primary
mounted the standby database using standby controlfile using

alter database mount standby database;
Now I have started applying archives on standby database after copying all archives from primary to standby box the archives generated during backup using..

Thanks in Advance,
Sukanta Paul.Hi Sukanta,
I didn't really understand what the problem is...
Let me explain, hope it will be clear.
You created a standby control file, and backed up the database (it doesn't matter in which order). Now, you have a standby database that is ready to apply logs. It will be able to apply log forever, until we will stop it.
The messages you see say the following:
ORA-00279: change 51667831821 generated at 07/02/2009 01:19:40 needed for thread 1 {color:blue} - this says that the recovery process is now at scn 51667831821 {color}
ORA-00289: suggestion : /nodal-archive/archive/1_55121_652209172.arc {color:blue} - the information needed for the recover is in this file (this is only the default name, you can choose other name if the file is called differently) {color}
ORA-00280: change 51667831821 for thread 1 is in sequence #55121 {color:blue} - same here, the needed archive is sequence 55121 {color}
ORA-00278: log file '/nodal-archive/archive/1_55120_652209172.arc' no longer needed for this recovery {color:blue} - this message is after Oracle has applied the log, and it means that this log is no longer needed {color}
Now it will wait for the next log. Again, this process is endless, this is how it is made to allow the standby database to be always synched with the primary.

Z10 loses signal during a call
I have a issue with loss of signal during a call on my z10.
When the automatic mail checking enabled and during a call mail is checked, I hear snatches of words and communication break, look at the screen see the message "network is busy" and zero signal icon. But after a few seconds the signal becomes full again.
Sometimes I have to call back 3-4 times to finish the conversation.
I have tried different OS versions, but nothing helps.
I had to turn off push notification in gmail account and switch to manual mail check for this to happen as infrequently as possible. But still it happens sometimes.
Many users from Russia have same problem.
My current OS: 10.2.1.3247
STL100-2
Operator "MTS" Russia
P.S. Sorry for my EnglishHey TalG,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Thanks for the question.
I would suggest removing the battery and placing it back in. If the issue still persists, then I suggest contacting your network service provider and try a new SIM card.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Cheers.

juniour oracle dbadamorgan,
He is running 8.1.7.0. "DataGuard" scripts were initially available for 9i and then
backported (and available as a seperate download) for 8i. Many 8i implementations
did not and do not use DataGuard.
Even if it is "Jurassic" {which it certainly is NOT}, they obviously do have a good
reason for setting up a standby -- they DO have data of value. So, maybe they have
not upgraded to 9i or 10g. There could be a dozen reasons
1. Server HW/OS doesn't support 9i/10g, not budgetting for Server upgrade
2. Application using Forms 2.x or 4.5 and not tested on 9i / 10g (4.5 not certified
on 9i)
3. Low end client PCs working perfectly with Character-mode forms, not powerful
enought to run Jinitiator and Forms 6i / 9i
Just because someone hasn't upgraded to 10g doesn't mean that they are at fault
when you do NOT know the reason why they have not upgraded.
Surely, they do know that 8i is desupported. Don't you think that their management
has undertaken due diligence / cost-benefit analysis in considering whether they
should upgrade to 10g ?
Maybe they have another project implementing 10g in parallel and will be able
to shutdown this environment soon. Maybe they don't need to do so.
Do understand that people are intelligent enough to make their own decisions
considering their particular circumstances and don't go shooting off with your
assumption that anyone not running 10g is a dinosaur. -
Process terminated by signal 11 (abap dump) connecting to remote database
Hi
We are currently running 4.7 Enterprise on Oracle 9.2.0.6.0 and frequently connect to another remote (non SAP) oracle database using the following statements:
exec sql.
connect to 'remote'
endexec.
The remote system is set up in SAP using view DBCON.
This works pretty well but we have started to see an increasing number of terminations "Process terminated by signal 11"
I suppose I have two questions
1. Can we modify our abap to catch this exception (this would let us try again or exit gracefully)
2. Does anyone know the cause of this exception or where to look to find the cause
Many thanks for your help.
SimonFixed at last - an update to the Oracle client / libaries I think was what cured it in the end. Phew

Change form of output signal without initializing new process of output signal
Hello!
How to change form of output signal produced on the output channel without initializing new process of output signal?
Thanks
Message Edited by _Pavel_ on 10-28-2009 05:21 PM
Solved!
Go to Solution.I'm working with LabView 8.5.1.
I have periodic TTL impulse with constant frequency – signal to start , which I'm used to start data acquisition (PCI-6251)and generation signal (PCI-6221).
When TTL signal a detection, necessary generation some analog signal (PCI-6221) and acquisition other analog signal (PCI-6251). Then wait following TTL signal.
At this moment I write the part of the program which is responsible for data acquisition. Function retriggering (In examples C:\ProgramFiles\National Instruments\LabVIEW8.5\examples\DAQmx\Synchronization\Multi-Function.llb\Multi-Function-CtrRetrigg Pulse Train Generation for AI Sample Clock.vi) is used. This function necessary,because we start data acquisition each time on arrival TTL impulse, andrepeated creation of the virtual channel of data acquisition with the newtrigger spend a lot of time.
The problem consists in the following. Generation of the data from other card should occur on the same impulse TTL as for the data acquisition card and then generation zero value.
How I can realize it? I planned to change the form of an impulse of generation when detected TTL an impulse, without reinitialize process. -
Sun C++ std::sort coredump during sorting array of long values
Hello,
I got core dump during execution following test program on both Solaris 9 (compile by CC: Sun C++ 5.5 Patch 113817-19 2006/10/13) and Solaris 10 platforms (compile by CC: Sun C++ 5.9 SunOS_sparc Patch 124863-01 2007/07/25).
Core is dumped during sorting array of about 120k elements of unsigned long types using STL std:sort. The input data is available at link: [file.txt|http://www.savefile.com/files/1924004]
When I change sorting methods to std::stable_sort program works fine.
The funny thing is that when I change order of last two values of input data (swap), sorting is successful with std::sort.
Can anyone tell me if it is Sun C++ compiler bug ?Can I use std::stable_sort method safely?
Below code:
#include <iostream.h>
#include <fstream.h>
#include <set>
#include <string>
int main( int argc, char** argv )
char readStr[256];
ifstream file;
unsigned long *l;
int i=0;
l = new unsigned long[119016];
if (l ==0)
cout << "Error in allocate memory";
return -1;
file.open("file.txt");
if (!file)
cout << "Error in openening file";
return -1;
while(file.getline(readStr, 256,'\n'))
cout << readStr<<endl;
l= atol(readStr);
cout << l[i]<<endl;
i++;
std::sort(l,l+119016); //core dump here!!!
for (i=0;i<119016;i++)
cout <<l[i]<<endl;
file.close();
delete [] l;
return( 0 );
Greetings
RobertYou have run into bug 6588033 "std::sort from libCstd loops", which is fixed in current patches.
Get the current patches for Sun Studio and also the current patch for the C++ runtime libraries (SUNWlibC patch).
You can find them here:
[http://developers.sun.com/sunstudio/downloads/patches/index.jsp]
Sun C++ 5.5 probably does not have the fix, since it is quite old and falling out of support.
C++ 5.9 does have the fix. -

Adding Simulate signal value to array
This is my first VI. I'm passing an array of 5 values which gets concatenated together into a string. I thought it would be neat for the 5th value of the array to always be changing so I'm using the Simulate Signal VI. I have the output from that VI working right but I'm not sure how to replace the 5th element.
Thanks for your help

sim signal.jpg 70 KBHi Scott,
I think you're fairly close to getting what you want! After you insert the signal into the array, you should wire the output of the Insert Into Array function into the Array to Spreadsheet String function. Right now it looks like you are just concatenating the array generated by your autoindexed for loop and ignoring the array you inserted the sine wave into.
I hope this helps! Good luck!
