I need to design a product detail page, and have been looking
around for inspiration.
A lot of sites seem to use the tabbed interface approach like

No it won't hinder the ranking. All the search engine will do
is spider
the tabbed link. If anything it could help the ranking as the
spider
will be able to get to more information by following the
link/s. The
more information it is able to access the more it will be
able to return
results based on what USEFUL information it finds.

On above page (which is a product detail page using product large layout) I added poplets and it started to generate javascript conflicts and my dropdown stoped working. I am using mootools and jQuery in my site and if I just take out the tag for poplets out, every thing start working perfect. I also tried to take every thing out except scripts we are using for dropdown but all in vain.
I am looking for some solution like if I can have plain markup including images for popup without the default lightbox code. My plan is to add lightbox or colorbox manually so it will not have any confilict with other scripts.
I am trying to find the solution for last two days but no solution worked at all. Your help will be appericiated. Thanks a lot in advace.

Thanks for your kind reply. Yes I can see number of errors. Actually my client purchased this theme and it uses some how mootools and jQuery at same time. I was only to look into product layouts. I don't know what other scripts are doing there. I know this is a mess but I am sure there should be some way to resolve it in my current scope of work. I switched all other scripts specifically the ones uses jQuery and also did not link jQuery too. But still lightbox.js (the one BC embeds) is conflicting with mootools and menu. So what the deal??? Waiting for positive feedback.

The necklaces are made from different kinds of stones.... turquoise .. agate ... and about a hundred more different kinds of stones
In my add product form I have a field for entering product details..... to enter the different kinds of stones the necklaces are made from..... sometimes more than twenty for one necklace..... So what I want to do is have check boxes... or radio boxes to choose what stones to add to the description..... So I can have a list of about fifty different kinds of stones all with a check box next to them so that when you choose a box that stone name would appear in the product description
Sounds easy but I can't figure out how to do it.....
I think I need a different table in my database a 'stone_neck' field to store all the stone names.... about 50 fields..... .... with an id field and a name field and maybe a display field ....... I think

If so then how do I display the details in a field in a table in my product detail page? I think I need a recordset on my detail page that gets all the stone names.... but how do I display the names of the stones that I have checked in the addprod form ? Do I need to put all every one of the stone info from the bindings panel? and then show region if .......

My Support Profile account broken - cannot see product details

"My Support Profile" no longer functions properly and therefore I cannot manage my Apple products. No one at Apple Support seems to know anythng about this or to whom, or where, to turn to get this fixed.
Details of problem:
When I log to My Support profile using my current Apple ID I see, as expeced, my information and my registered Apple products.
However, I CAN NOT access the details of any of my registered products. When I "click" on a registered product the web page goes nowhere and seems to simply refresh itself ("loading" spinner spins then stops). Therefore I cannot manager my Apple products because I cannot get to the next page that shows the product detail tabs "Coverage Details", "Case Activity", "Repair Activity" and "Support Resources".
This is NOT a computer, browser or user problem because it does not matter what computer or which browser I use (Safari, Firefox, Chrome). Rather, the problem is on Apple's side completely.
By contrast, I can use an old Apple ID to access my old "My Support Profile" using the the same computer(s) and ANY browser and I can access product details normally. But I do not want to use this old account of mine as the email address is being retired.
Even if I wanted to transfer my registered Apple products to an existing account, or set up a new one, I cannot do so because, as noted above, I cannot get to the product detail page which is where you have to go to unregister a product in order to to be able to then register it with another account !!!
Cannot get help from Apple:
No one a Apple Support seems to know anything about this or to whom, or where, to turn to get this fixed. Every one is stumped. There is no place on Apple's web site ANYWHERE to get help with My Support Profile - no way to submit a report, etc. It is as if Apple figures there will never be a problem with My Support Profile so it is not even a topic.
When I call Apple Support (using the SN of an product under warranty) the call gets escalated until finally the tech rep will say go to "http://www.apple.com/feedback/" and submit a report. When I follow that process through it always ends up with the options to call support or make arrangements to go to the Apple store to repair the product. In otherwords, back to the beginning - a vicious circle.
Plea for Help:
If anyone has a recommendation, an Apple Contact email or telephone number, a valid link to submit a report specific to "My Support Profile" problems, or anything that will let me get to somebody or some department that actually knows how to deal with fixing a broken "My Support Profile" account, I would greatly appreciate it.

I happened to have checked on February 15th as well and it appears normal functioning has returned. Today is February 17 and it appears normal today.
I hope the return of normal functioning remains stable.
Although I am pleased My Support Profile has apparently returned to normal functioning, it is frustrating that Apple does not have any means to report problems with My Support Profile. There ought to be a clear path to follow to report (and rectify) problems with My Support Profile. The absence of such a path speaks poorly for what otherwise good support from Apple.

I was also asked to download the Akamai download manager which i don't understand why. Also It said that once the manager was installed the download would appear in the browser which it never did. The Akamai download manager is used to download the software you purchased. Try the download resources below. The second one does not use the download manager.

ADF BC - One Master and Two Detail pages How To?

I have an existing ADF BC .jspx master-detail page that works fine. It shows one product as the master (read-only; no navigation controls) and assocatied customer feedback as the detail (multiple records; read-only.) Now I also want to compute some averages from the same table used to create the detail view object. I have created a second view object because this requires a separate query that calculates aggregate values. I want to take advantage of using view links so that this 2nd view object is automatically linked to the master record via the primary key.
My question is how can I link this into the existing master-detail data control so that I can drag/drop it to include id on the existing .jspx page and the primary key linkages will be handled automatically?

Thanks for the reply. The existing customer feedback view object displays the customer's text feedback (testimonials) - these will be displayed in a read-only table with multiple records.
The new view object aggregates the ratings score from the customer feedback (same FEEDBACK database table) and will use a form to display the results (not multiple rows.) The PK is included in the aggregate view object query.
Note there is already an existing viewlink between the PK (Master) and FK (Feedback) - in the data control, this viewlink is an instance of the Master View Object and the Customer Feedback View object. Now that I have created a third view object, should I create another View Link between the Master View Object and the Customer Feedback AVERAGES View Object? If I do this, how do I include it in the existing .jspx page? If I add this new View Link to the Application Module I will have two different Data Controls:
Data Control #1: Master (Product) View Object + Customer Feedback View Object #1 (implemented as a master-detail read-only form/table on a .jspx page)
Data Control #2: Master (Product) View Object + Customer Feedback AVG View Object #2
I'm confused as to how to integrate the second customer feedback view object into the existing Data Control / Master-Detail read-only form/table on my .jspx page?

How Can I Make A Large Photo with Product Detail for My Thumbnails in Dreamweaver

New to Dreamweaver, so my code knowledge does not exist yet. Have Mercy!!!!
Anyway , I am making a typical product page.
I prefer that when people click the thumbnail product photo to not have to click into another brower.
Nowadays you are able to click in what is commonly called a "Quick View" that pops up and gives you a full sized
image along with product detail, and pricing. That's all I want.

don't understand your problem, ore hope to understand it right. You could put the images on a DW file and link to another file with the larger image and where you have written all your informations.

No Price List Line Item in Price List detail page

I just started with Oracle ON Demand so my question my look silly but I couldn't find solution myself and I have to ask.
When I created Price List and Product now it is time to connect one to another. But, when I went into Price List list page, click a price list name on the Price List detail page and try to click Add in the Price List Line Item section there simply is no such thing on my page. I tried on Product Edit page but wit the same effect. Do I do something wrong or for example there have to be specific field marked or unmarked somewhere? I still work in Staging Environment maybe it is a problem?

At this time the price list functionality is only available for partner relationship management (PRM). It is on the roadmap to provide this functionality. However, I do not have a release date at this time.

Removing of unused buttons on detail page.

Context Navigation – Details Page

I am trying to do a product list and details page with individual images instead of list or galleries. I have a screen with individual images, each image points to detail screen and sends the ID of each item.
On the detail screen, I have 2 labels and an image. How can I dynamically load the labels and image from data in table that matches the passed ID?
I have been trying to write a filter script in the image property field and the labels Text property field, but I am missing something.

You can use
LookUp function. Set the label using LookUp(Table1, ID = selectedID, LabelValue) and set the image using LookUp(Table1, ID = selectedID, ImageLink). I am assuming you're passing the selected item's Id using the context variable selectedID and that
you have LabelValue and ImageLink as columns in your table.

Dynamic image gallery on detail page

I have a master page listing 8 products. I have inserted a dynamic image gallery on the detail page which looks ok, but has one major flaw: when you click on a thumbnail the main image opens on the wrong page. e.g. if you click on page ../dragons.php?id=3 the main image opens on ../dragons.php/id=1 and shows the following url: .../dragons.php?image=btf.jpg (or whatever the image file name).
I have only just started using php and I would appreciate some guidance on how to resolve this problem.

I'm still at an early stage in building this site and because it is allvery experimental I am and just using local testing.
So to try to explain my objective. I have a master page with 8 products there is a link to a detail page based on product id. So from the master page (dragons.php) you can select a product which will show the product information on a detail page (eg. dragons_species.php?id=1 or dragons_species.php?id=2 etc). This works ok.
Each detail page has various pieces of information and 5 images. I wanted to show the images in an image gallery format and so used the code you provide in your book PHP Solutions (Creating a Dynamic Online Gallery pp.323-330). This works ok on the first page where id=1, but on subsequent pages (id=2, id=3 etc) I am loosing the id link infavour of an image based link.

Insert custom JavaScript on Oracle CRM detail page

As part of some customizations to modify the details pages, we need to insert some custom JavaScipt on Oracle CRM pages. What we understand is that this is possible using a Custom Web Applet and adding the applet to the sections layout. But with this the Custom Web Applet section bar show up in the details page.
Is there some way in which this custom JavaScript can be added to the pages without any additional sections showing up?

I would like to build an URL to put inside an e-mail so that the receiver could click it and be redirected to the product detail view (sort of "send to a friend").
Is this possible in the ISA standard? Does anybody have a clue how to build a direct link do a product without navigating in the site?

Here you are:
The application can be started with the following URL:
http://<host name>/b2c/b2c/init.do?shop=<shop name>&areaID=<area Guid>&productID=<product Guid>
After execution the user is directly forwarded to the detail screen of the selected product, within the selected shop area...
This is the only way to direct access a ISA 4.0 B2C site product from a new IE window.

Could show more columns at detail page?

we are new at html db, there are a few of questions we need to clear before we make decision to use HTML DB to develop our next version of application: (I seperate them at differenct topics).
* By click link at query result page (table may has 5 columns), could show more columns at detail page (may 10 columns) with editable mode?

one way to do this would be to have your link take you to another similar looking page in your app that's an updatable report for the 10 columns you need. you could use our "tabular form" wizard to create that updatable report (if your tablular form is going to joining multiple tables, you might need to create an updatable view on the tables and build your form off that. you could also build that tabular form yourself. we have a how-to doc, "Build tabular forms for multi-row operations", for that at http://otn.oracle.com/products/database/htmldb/howtos/index.html ).
