  • Product / BOM structure

Manufacturing involves 2 processes - A and B. In process A, multiple SKU are processed (group of SKU are processed as one material). In process B, each SKU is processed individually.
This scenario is like variant configuration in production order (instead of sales order) where one of the process steps (process A) has a variable configuration for material
How to configure this scenario? Should we model this as co-product?
    Process A -> Process B
    SKU to be made: P,Q,R,S
    Month 1:
    Order 1 and 2: Process A (Material W) -> Process B (SKU P and Q)
    Order 3 and 4: Process A (Material X) -> Process B (SKU R and S)
where material W represents SKU P and Q processed processed as one material, material X represents SKU R and S processed as one material
    Month 2:
    Order 5 and 6: Process A (Material Y) -> Process B (SKU P and R)
    Order 7 and 8: Process B (Material Z) -> Process B (SKU Q and S)
where material Y represents SKU P and R processed as one material, material Z represents SKU Q and S processed as one material

    Hi,
Yes you can use configurable products and Co Products. Create a Configurable material, that will be assigned to Material Master. You will have to use object dependencies.

  • Custom field added by AET is not editable - not added to BOL structure

    Hi ,
We had created a new field using AET in Products Assignment Block of Campaigns as a line item. This is a drop down field.
But in WEB UI,this field is being displayed as non-editable dropdown.
In AET, we opted Business Object as MKT_CPG and subobject as PRD.
But the issue is that the Dependent objects CPGProducts and CPTProducts BOL Entity Structures are not getting enhanced with this new field and i guess , so the field is appearing as non-editable in WEB UI.
PRODUCTS context node is using the structure CRMS_MKTPL_IB_CPG_PROD(BOL object CPGProducts).
All other related object structures(Structure of that of Dependent Objects AGRProduct ,DLMProduct etc) are being appended with the newly created field.
    Component : CPGOE_ABLOCKS
    View : CPGOE_ABLOCKS/OVELProducts
    Context Node : PRODUCTS
Attribute structure that needs to be enhanced for our requirement : CRMS_MKTPL_IB_CPG_PROD.
We are not using Genil Shared memory in our dev system.
Any pointers to solving this problem is highly appreciated.

  • Production Version in R/3 & PDS in APO

    Hi Team,
I have below master data settings in R/3:
    1. Material Master
    2. BOM
    Note:
I do not have work center & routing in R/3. I have set the default operation for my order type in OPJG.
But as per system landscape, the planning will be performed in APO. Hence i need to CIF the production version to APO from R/3. But i do not have routing in R/3. Is it possible to create the production version without routing (in R/3)?
    Thanks

Yes, It can be transferred. You need to create CIF integration model(CFM1) with "BOM" option selected.
    SAP Help says following -
    Material BOM in Integration Model
If you set this indicator, all bills of material that correspond to the
stated selection options are indcluded in your model.
    Dependencies
The material BOM filter object can only be used in connection with the
production data structure (iPPE) and it is used to map phantom assemblies.
Only those bills of material are transferred for materials for which no
production production versions have been created.
    Hope this will help.

  • R/3 Product Hierarchy in BW data model.

    Hi all,
We have been told by our implementation partner that the scenario described below is not feasible to design in our BW 3.5 system and if we were to implement this scenario there would be a significant amount of user maintenance to maintain the hierarchy structure in BW.
I was a query user in previous BW versions and my datawarehouse modeling experience is mostly in Cognos and Business Objects. The scenario described below is very easily implemented in these other datawarehouse software packages and I would be suprised if SAP does not have a standard solution to address the problem.
I would like to understand if:
    (1) Yes this solution can be easily implemented in BW 3.5
    (2) A brief explanation on the design approach, implementation, and considerations
I am already familiar with the link on http://sap.help.com that explains BW hierarchy design and considerations, but I would like to get a "real world" understanding of an approach and design and if you experienced this requirement.
Thank You in advance for your input.
    Regards,
    -Anthony
    <b><u>Scenario:</u></b>
In R/3 we have modified the standard delivered product hierarchy structure for material master from 5,5,8 to be 5,5,4,4.
The 4 levels represent: BRAND --> PRODUCT LINE --> PRODUCT CATEGORY --> PRODUCT SUBCATEGORY
Our intent is to use this structure to satisfy current BW reporting requirements for COPA and R/3 Billing infocubes.
In BEx Explorer we would like to perform product analysis using the following dimension paths:
BRAND --> PRODUCT LINE --> PRODUCT CATEGORY --> PRODUCT SUBCATEGORY
PRODUCT LINE --> PRODUCT CATEGORY --> PRODUCT SUBCATEGORY
    PRODUCT CATEGORY --> PRODUCT SUBCATEGORY
We are told that since we have multiple values at the BRAND node we will not be able to perform grouped reporting the starts at PRODUCT LINE node(which would be independent of the BRAND node). For example:
    BRAND,          PRODUCT LINE,          PRODUCT CATEGORY
    HONDA,          AUTOMOBILE,          CIVIC
    HONDA,          AUTOMOBILE,          ACCURA
    HONDA,          BLOWER,                  CIVIC
    HONDA,          MOTORCYCLE,          ODESSY
    FORD,          AUTOMOBILE,          EXPLORER
    FORD,          BLOWER,                  EXPLORER
    FORD,          MOTORCYCLE,          CHAMPION
So for example we would like to start our dimensional anaylsis to show all AUTOMOBILE or BLOWER sales independent of the fact they were for HONDA or FORD.
In other datawarehouse systems I have either: (1) created 3 dimensions called: BRAND, PRODUCT LINE, and PRODUCT CATEGORY or (2) created one dimension called BRAND with alternate dimension paths for PRODUCT LINE and PRODUCT CATEGORY. I am not sure if this is feasible in BW.
We were also told in order to achieve this design a structure would have to be maintained in BW every time we introduce a new material master and the material master would need to be manually entered into the structure so that reporting can be achieved for both the standard structure and the alternate structure(s).<b></b>

    Antony ,
there will be maintenance involved every time you add a material to the material master. However you could maintain the hierarchy through a GUI also depending on the number of values.
Ideally if this can be maintained in a table in the source system , it can be imported into BW. Otherwise if you were to maintain it in BW , you will have a lot of problems when :
    1. Change in the hierarchy - A new Product Line coming in and many product category onwards change over to the new product line.
    2. Viewing the changed hierarchy over time - If you have GM and a separate category called Daewoo , earlier they were separate and now they are one - what are my product sales due to the merged entity vis-a-vis separate entities earlier...
Things that you will need to consider from a design stand popint are :
    1. Should the hierarchy be time dependent ?
    2. Should it be maintained in the source system or in BW?
    3. Change process for the same - Flat file / Manual
    4. Estimate of how frequent the hierarchy would change?
    5. Will you have display hierarchies - Ad-Hoc hierarchies to view certain combinations?
Depending on the above your hierarchy creation can go from easy to complex and hard to maintain.
One way to amintain it is to have a SAP ABAP program to populate a hierarchy table to have the relations in R/3 and transfer them into BW. You could automate it in such a way that the hierarchy is changed every time there is a new material
Otherwise , there can be a flat file to create the relationships
Or someone could log a request and if the change is minimal it couldbe done thru a GUI Interface provided by BW.

  • Get Division based on Product

I have created one material using COMMPRO1 transaction and i have assigned Division for it.
Now i want to know where that division gets stored...so that i can retrieve the division based on product guid.
I want the table name for fetching the division based on product..
    Poits are sure....

    Hi
as per my knowledge Org data which contains division and Product hierchy should match otherwise mismatch or data in consistency between division and product hierarchy occus.
So go to division or product field place mouse there F1 then go to technical data there you will find table name, label name, field name from table it is coming.

  • PRODH & CO-PA Product Hierarchy

In our project , we had a three level product hierarchy structure with length of the each level being 5,5 and 8 respectively . Based on this, the characteristics fields in COPA were defined using the standard characteristics PAPH1 ,PAPH2 and PAPH3 . When doing this in CO-PA , SAP created domains RKEG_PAPH1 ,2 and 3 with similar length as the levels in structure PRODHS.
After this was completed , the product hierarchy structure has been changed in PRODHS to four levels with length as 4,4,4,4 respectively. As a result of that the domains RKEG_PAPH1 , 2 and 3 are not matching with the new structure and the PAPH1 to 3 characteristics in COPA have been made unusable.
To fix this  SAP help is suggesting two things:
    1)     First change the number of characters in domains/data element RKEG_PAPH1 to 3 to match the new structure in PRODHS
    2)     Find out the list of tables/structure where RKEG_PAPH1 to 3 is used and perform a data conversion.
From the where used list , we are able to see that this are used in 21 structures which are in turn used in numerous programs, structures, BAPIs etc.
We would like to know  :
    1) What is impact of doing this on numerous programs, structures, BAPIs etc ?
    2) How these data  conversion is done and what utilities are used for the same? Is it required to do this as our project is still not live? Only Dev and Quality systems now running.
    3) Potential issues that we may face?
    4) Any other alternative solution.
    Thanks,
    Best regards,
    Prashant

    Hiya,
First impressions: Since you are not live yet, the impact is much lesser than if you were live. So thats saving grace.
I gather from your post that you either don't wish to leave these Chars as they are (ignore them and create new ones instead). Have you explored the possibility of using these for some other 5-char or 8-Char Characteristics?
The impact is massive, but restricted to BAPIs and custom programs you may have built based on these Chars. Whatever method you follow (new Chars or change these existing ones), you will still need to modify your reports to reflect the new data structures. But then, do you have an option?
You could use custom programs for data conversion, mapping your lagacy data to the new fields, or simply use Excel spreadsheets - that also depends a lot on the source of your legacy data.
Is it required? You don't data convert until your first cutover and that is mostly into a Regression Test server and then into the P server. So do you really need to bother about data conversion to the Dev or the Quality servers?
You may need to explore the possibility of deleting these Chars from the Op Co and including new ones. While this is not a recommended option, that way you can still transport only the required Chars to the P server and ignore the rest. Your Test or Quality servers will go for a toss (data mismatches etc.), but you could try and not let it affect your golden client.
Alternatives: explore the possibility of ignoring these 3 Chars and creating 4 new ones instead. That, by far, could be your best option.
    All the best.

how we get the prod cat done in crm for the customers and consumers and how it is done?
    thank you,

    hi
first of all we need to look at what is catalog management before proceding with product and product catalog.
You use this business scenario to create a centralized product catalog that contains product descriptions, multimedia objects, pricing, and associated literature. The catalog enables quick and easy customer access to timely and personalized product information, structured in such a way that most meets your customers needs.
Product catalogs are implemented in sales processes and are of particular importance in CRM Web Channel for presenting your products in the Web shop.
difference between the product and product catalog
this is not the thing that product and product catalog are completely different entity.
Product catalog :   A grouping together of products from your product master data, in a structured hierarchy.
You use product catalogs to group together products to present them in the Web shop, Interaction Center, or in other forms of media, for example printed format or CD-ROM.
You can create various catalogs for your products in the product master and use them according to a validity date. For example, you could use certain products for the summer season, and other products for the winter season.
You can also tailor your product catalog to meet other needs by creating catalog variants. For example, you can create a catalog in English with the prices displayed in US Dollars.
so by above definition it is very much clear that products are actually assign to the catalog,i will give you an analogy that museum is a kind of catalog and you add different pictures to the museum,in the same way you add product to the product catalog according to the acatlog variant.
Now how you assign product to product catalog
    Product Assignment
You assign products manually or automatically to a catalog area, depending on the catalog type. The product ID, product description, and status of all products is displayed, as is the information as to whether the item contains accessories or if it is a configurable product.
    Prerequisites
You have created products in your product master in SAP CRM under Accounts and Products
    Process
You select a catalog area in your product catalog, and edit the item list by assigning products to the area.
    Manual Assignment
You can assign products manually on an individual basis or by copying a catalog area. You tend to choose manual product assignment for marketing-oriented catalogs that are subjected to editorial controls.
          Individual assignment
In this case you select the catalog area in which the product should be assigned, manually search for the product in the product master, and assign it to the area.
          Copying items from catalog areas
You select an area or subarea from another catalog and copy it to your new catalog. The system copies all products from the copied area to the new catalog, as long as they belong to the distribution chain assigned to the target catalog variant. From these products, you can then manually determine which products from the copied area you want to keep and which items you wish to delete.
The following is true for manually assigned products:
You can activate or deactivate items on an individual basis.
You can edit the list of accessories for manually assigned products. The system determines which accessories are maintained for the product in the product master and displays them in the item area of the catalog. You select which accessories should be displayed for the product in the catalog and activate them.
Manually assigned products can be included or removed from catalog views on an individual basis.
    Automatic Assignment
You can assign products automatically to a catalog by transferring product hierarchies from your product master to the catalog areas. The categories, items, attributes, and documents contained in the product hierarchy are copied to the new catalog.
You use automatic product assignment mainly for functional catalogs, where products can be copied with very few changes, from the product categories of the product master. It enables a standardized characterization of your products in the catalog.
The following is true for products assigned to the catalog using product hierarchy transfer:
Product categories which make up the hierarchies become catalog areas in the catalog.
Product categories in the product hierarchy must be assigned to the distribution chain to which the target catalog variant is assigned. Otherwise the category is not transferred. The same applies to the items, texts, and documents assigned to the category.
Items are always active and cannot be individually activated or deactivated.
Accessories maintained for transferred product in the product master are automatically included and displayed in the catalog.
Transferred items cannot be individually included in catalog views or removed from them. Instead all items of the hierarchy are always contained in the view.
Lists of characteristics for transferred categories and items can be automatically created when transferring product hierarchies. The transferred values are included in the item overview of the product catalog.

  • Product hierarchy level in TPM Pricing condition records

    Hi all,
we're setting up TPM scenarios in CRM7.0.
A question arosen about the level of the product hierarchy we need to create pricing records.
We have a 5 level product hierarchy structure and we're using the CRM feature to spread the product category at the lates level while creating trade promotion. In example if the user put in the product category tab a level 1 category the system spread down to the 10 level 5 underneath.
My question is: shall i generate pricing records at that level (lev5) or can i create the pricing records at higher level and keep the campaign dtermination one at the lowest?
    Appreciate any reply
    Regards

    Hi Carmine,
It's not mandatory to create conditions at the lowest level, but my recommendation is to keep a match between the level you allow users to plan their promotion and the level of the condition records.
However depending on the scenarios, it may be valid to do otherwise. Some examples:
    - A user assign a Level1 Category, and it's exploded into 5 lower categories. Then he creates a trade spend exception for 1 of the categories, the conditions should have (at least) the same level in order to create this exception.
    - A user assign a Level1 Category, and it's exploded into 5 lower categories. The user wants to create only 1 condition at a higher level, then yes it can make sense to have condition with the higher level.
An option to allows both would be to have different condition generation type (one for High Level planning and one for lower level).
    Some additional thoughts:
The feature that "explode" the high level category into lower categories, was developed for customers that wanted to restrict their users in planning at a lower level. It also helps to ensure a KAM does not create a condition for a whole Brand, but only to the level he's allowed.
The system is build to manage a high number of conditions.
    Best regards,
    Guillaume

  • Converting DITA files to Structured FrameMaker

    Hello,
I have DITA files need conversion to structured FrameMaker files. I tried generating conversion table with DITA files and defined elements (of structured FrameMaker that I have) against each element in the table. But this is not working.
Is there any other way to accomplish this task?

To add to Scott's reply, make sure when you open your DITA file in Frame, make sure that you are in the Structured interface (Edit > Preferences > General > Product Interface = Structured FrameMaker). If you are not in the Structured interface, FrameMaker will turn your document into an unstructured document - probably not what you want.

  • Can we get Multiple production versions in APO

    Hi,
Is there  a way to get multiple production versions into APO, as the info record( we are using) is what drive the creation of the PDS in APO from ECC
Is there a way to find out how we can have multiple production versions in APO.
    Thanks
    Maddy

    Maddy,
Standard functionality in APO is to support multiple production versions.
Production Versions are a standard object in ECC.  They consist of a combination of a Bill of Materials, a Routing, and a few other bits of data.  For a given material/plant combination in ECC, there can be many Production Versions.
Production Version - Repetitive Manufacturing (PP-REM) - SAP Library
These Production Versions are integrated in standard CIF via either Production Process Model or Production Data Structure.
Integration of Production Process Models - Integration of Master Data - SAP Library
Integration of Production Data Structures Generated from R/3 Mas - Integration of Master Data - SAP Library

  • Multiple Production Versions in Subcontracting Inforecord

Hi Gurus - I have a question on how to assign multiple production versions in Sub-contracting Inforecord?
I heard this functionality is available in ECC 6.0 is that true? If so how can I assign multiple production versions? What happens after we CIF across to APO? Any help is highly appreciated.
    Thanks and regards,
    Murali.

Murali - Its possible to use multiple PV in sub contracting.
    Settings in ERP :
    1. In CFC9 activate the - Transfer multiple selection of PDS indicator. When you select this indicator, the system allows you to select several productions versions in the integration model; it also creates a Production Process Model (PPM) or Production Data Structure (PDS) for each production version in SAP SCM
    2. Assign the PV's to the subcontracting info record through -  Logistics  - Central Functions  - Supply Chain Planning Interface - Core Interface - Advanced Planner and Optimizer - Environment  - Data Transfer  -Assign Multiple Production Versions
    3. When you select the integration model parameters for PDS, you have selected PP/DS Subcontracting as the PDS Type value. Similarly, for PPM, you have selected Subcontracting PPM as the Type of PPM value.
Subcontracting with multiple production versions is supported. However, the integration with an SAP ERP system requires at least SAP ERP 2005 with Enhancement Pack 03.

  • CAUFVD gets initialized result in dump with error Production ord not found

    Hi All,
We want to make change of start date and end date of a production order via CO02 (Production order change). Based on these changes we want to update an existing a Purchasing Planned Order  Start Dt and Finsih Dt (MD12)
We are using Enhancement component (PPCO0007) : Exit when saving production order
Within this exit we are using BAPI_PALNNEDORDER_CHANGE  to update some other purchasing  planned order dates.
The BAPI_PALNNEDORDER_CHANGE  is executing succesfully however the production order structure (CAUFVD)  gets initialized resulting in dump with error Production order not found
How can we update and save a purchased planned order and also the  production order

    Hi Max,
    Thanks for the reply...
The error details are as below:
Dump gets generated via program : (SAPLCOBT).
    Exception condition ORDER_NOT_FOUND raised.
    include = LCOBPU16.
    Row No: = 21.
    Module Type = (Function)
    Module Name = CO_BT_ORDER_DET_TEMP
We also give brief details on what is happening:
My exit calls from Standard (LCOZVU01) :
    CALL CUSTOMER-FUNCTION '001'
               EXPORTING
                    header_imp = caufvd
               IMPORTING
                    header_exp = caufvd_tmp
                    no_update  = answer.
    *     Check if update of header necessary and allowed
          IF caufvd-aufnr EQ caufvd_tmp-aufnr AND
             caufvd       NE caufvd_tmp.
            PERFORM caufv_upd(saplcobh) USING caufvd_tmp.
          ENDIF
When BAPI for planned order is executed within the exit, the structure (caufvd) values are found refreshed. This structure is further updating the production order.
