Product-sku-output-config.xml - Is there a schema definition (XSD or DTD)?

For the product-sku-output-config.xml file (used to define the set of product and sku attributes that are sent to Endeca from ATG as part of the Baseline Index process, as defined in chapter 4 of the ATGEndecaIntegrationGuide.pdf, 10.1.2 version), is there a schema definition (XSD or DTD) available?
The format used by product-sku-output-config.xml seems similar to, but not the same as, the format described by http://www.atg.com/dtds/search/indexing-dependency-schema.dtd. For example, p35 of the ATGEndecaIntegrationGuide.pdf gives an example of a product-sku-output-config.xml with a "properties" child element of the top-level "item" element; per that indexing-dependency-schema.dtd, that isn't allowed. (Per that DTD, it should be either "meta-properties" or "text-properties", not "properties".)
More generally, I'm wondering if there's place that fully defines what can go into the product-sku-output-config.xml file.
I'm also interested this same question for the category-dim-output-config.xml file.
Thanks,

  • Including sku attributes in product-sku-output-config.xml

    Hello,
    We have configured the product catalog integration between ATG and Endeca successfully and now I'm guessing how to expand/include other attributes of SKU into the Endeca Index, such as thumbnail and large Images which we are using as External Media Elements. I bet we'll have to customize product-sku-output-config.xml file, but how may this be accomplished?
    Any tip or direction?
    Thank you very much,

    Hi, monotone!
    Yesterday I faced with this issue too and resolved it in such way.
    1. Create product-sku-output-config.xml file in config folder of your module: config/atg/endeca/index/commerce/product-sku-output-config.xml
    2. Extend it by adding needed properties. If property value is primitive type, you may just add property:
    >
    <item item-descriptor-name="product">
         <properties>
              <property name="displayName" output-name="product.displayName" type="string" />
         </properties>
    </item>
    >
    If property value is Object, you must create property accessor that use custom logic for determining the values of properties that you specify. For example, the value of mediumImage is RepositoryItem of Media type. If you want to get medium image url (mediumImage.url), you may write so property accessor:
    >
    public class MediumImagePropertyAccessor extends PropertyAccessorImpl {
         private String mediumImagePropertyName = "mediumImage";
         private String urlPropertyName = "url";
         protected Object getTextOrMetaPropertyValue(Context pContext, RepositoryItem pItem, String pPropertyName, PropertyTypeEnum pType) {
              RepositoryItem externalMediaItem = (RepositoryItem) pItem.getPropertyValue(mediumImagePropertyName);
              String imageUrl = externalMediaItem.getPropertyValue(urlPropertyName).toString();
              return imageUrl;
    >
    After that you must specify this accessor in property-accessor attribute of your property in product-sku-output-config.xml:
    >
    <item item-descriptor-name="product">
         <properties>
              <property name="mediumImage" output-name="product.mediumImage"
                   type="string" property-accessor="/com/something/endeca/index/accessor/MediumImagePropertyAccessor" />
         </properties>
    </item>

  • Is it possible to have 2 different output config XML files and index the data into 2 endeca apps using the same indexing component ProductCatalogSimpleIndexingAdmin

    Hi ,
    We have a catalog that defines 2 types of products (they have too many different properties), so wanted to keep them on two different MDEX engines and serve the applications requests. Here DB catalog and front end ATG application is same for both the MDEX instances.
    Is it possible to have 2 different output config XML files and index the data into 2 endeca apps using the same indexing component ProductCatalogSimpleIndexingAdmin?
    Thanks
    Dev

    Hi, also have had some problem some monthes ago - I created separete component ProductCatalogSimpleIndexingAdminSecond. After that one of my colleage gave me some advice:
    The creating separate component like ProductCatalogSimpleIndexingAdmin for the second IOC is possible way for resolving your situation. But I afraid that this way will be required creating mane duplicates for already existed components.
    In my opinion the better way is the following:
    starting from AssemblerApplicationConfiguration and ApplicationConfiguration component. It contains details for connecting between ATG and Endeca. Of course you should configure different components for different Endeca Apps.
    After that:
    Find all components that uses AssemblerApplicationConfiguration and ApplicationConfiguration. Customize these components for using one or another  *Configuration component depending on what index works. (many variants released it: the most simple global custom component with flag.)
    Then customize the existed ProductCatalogSimpleIndexingAdmin. Using one or another IOC  and setting the flag in global custom component when index started. You can add some methods into your custom ProductCatalogSimpleIndexingAdmin like:
    Execute baseline index for both IOC (one by one)
    Execute baseline for IOC 1
    Execute baseline for IOC 2.
    Note: you should be afraid about incremental (partial) index in this configuration. But resolving conflicts in incremental index should be done after full implementation these changes.

    I am in the process of migrating our J2EE application from Weblogic 8.1 to Weblogic 10 MP1 and have converted config.xml to the new schema. When starting up in production mode, I see the following error which causes the server to shutdown:

    In 8.1 it seems that it would fill in the credentials based on the username and password in boot.properties so it was possible for our installation program to leave these entries blank. However, when starting in 10.0 it doesn't do this. Below is an excerpt from config.xml.

  • Which generic-searchbackend-config.xml file to be used..?

    Hi,
    I need to make some changes to generic-searchbackend-config.xml.
    There are 2 generic-searchbackend-config.xml files available.
    1. sap.com\crm\isa\web\b2b\_comp\*webContent*\WEB-INF\xcm\sap\modification\generic-searchbackend-config.xml
    2. sap.com\crm\isa\web\b2b\_comp\WEB-INF\xcm\sap\modification\generic-searchbackend-config.xml
    I already made some changes in File No 1 and they were reflecting perfectly.
    My Basis team restarted the server today and I noticed that none of these changes I made in file no 1 are working now.
    Later I tried making some changes to file NO 2 and surprisingly they are reflecting.
    My question(s):
    1.which is the correct file to be used?
    2.what is the diff between the two
    3.why are my changes in file 1 not reflecting now even though code changes are present?
    Thanks,
    Pat

    Actually neither of them.
    You need to have a "customer" version of the XML which contains the changes you do specific to your application. The path of this file would be something like
    crmtcwebappbasesap.com/src/packages/WEB-INF/xcm/customer/modification/generic-searchbackend-config.xml
    Inside that one, you include the standard like this:
    <xi:include href="$/modification/generic-searchbackend-config.xml#xpointer(backendobject/*)"/>
    Then you put in your changes like the example below:
         <configs isa:extends="../configs[@id='crmdefault']">
              <config id="javabasket_javatemplate_forCRM">
                   <property-group name="salesdoc_resultlist_B2C">
                        <property name="STATUS"
                             columnTitle="b2c.orderlist.order.status"
                             cssClassName="showfiguresright"/>
                        <property name="STATUS_SYSTEM"
                             columnTitle="b2c.orderlist.order.status_system"
                             cssClassName="showfiguresright"/>
                        <property name="PROCESS_TYPE" type="hidden"/>
                   </property-group>
              </config>
         </configs>

  • Clarification on services-config.xml files for RemoteObject services

    I am currently preparing an AMFPHP environment for exchanging
    data with Flex and AIR applications. I can connect to the services
    via Netconnection, but using RemoteObject won't work.
    Documentation for the necessary configuration files
    (services-config.xml, remoting-config.xml and the like) is, um,
    sparse and seems to be slightly incorrect or misleading at times.
    So I'm looking for clarification about
    changes in the syntax of services-config.xml · in
    examples for Flex 2.01, there are "class" attributes with values
    beginning with "flex.", in Flex 3 examples the attribute name has
    changed to "type", values beginning with "flex." have mostly
    vanished and been replaced with similar looking values beginning
    with "mx.". Are "flex." and "mx." prefixes interchangable?
    correct syntax for linking other files into
    services-config.xml · the livedocs state that Adobe
    prefers linking files into services-config.xml (using something
    like <service-include file-path="remoting-config.xml"/>)
    instead of defining all service parameters there. But in the
    example from the Flex 2.01 livedocs, the root element of the
    service-config.xml file is <services> instead of
    <services-config>. Assuming that <services> is meant as
    a
    child of the <services-config> root element, there
    seems to be a mandatory <service> child element missing.
    That's either intended, illogical, and misleading, or simply
    erroneous.
    which classes are still valid in Flex 3, which have changed?
    · Most of the examples for using RemoteObjects out there are
    for FlexBuilder 2 (e.g.
    here)
    and don't seem to work with FlexBuilder 3 Beta 2. But there is no
    statement to be found in the Flex 3 documentation about what has
    changed.
    a meaningful example for services-config.xml · In the
    Flex 3 Beta 2 documentation here are plenty of references to using
    services-config.xml, as I can find even information about the
    ServerConfig class in the ActionScript 3 Language Reference, a sort
    of wrapper class for the information provided in
    service-config.xml, but there is no information about what
    constitutes a
    working service-config.xml configuration (which XML tags of
    what names containing what attributes need to be present).
    As I'd really like to create cutting-edge Flex and AIR OCC
    applications, I'm eager to have those ambiguities clarified.
    Best regards,
    Cathness

    From the docs it looks like this is used for web services as
    well:
    http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/201/html/dataservices_config_100_3.html#260186
    If this isn't the right config file, which file should I be
    looking at?

  • Services-config.xml with actionscript

    I am amazed there is no half way simple method for creating a RTMP consumer without the need for this services-config.xml file. I have to be able to change, on the fly, what server the Flex client subscribes to and have multiple channels open to multiple servers. Maybe this is beyond the scope or capabilities of the RemoteObject, but we should be able create a consumer, channels, adapters and anything else we need without having to use the services-config.xml file.
    So here is the actual problem, I have everything working with the exception of messages being returned from the server are never received. I can set up the channels and channelsets, the consumer, and can subscribe and get an ack message back saying it is connected, but no messages ever come back. And yes, we have confirmed the service is getting the subscription and is sending data back to the client if we use the services-config.xml methodology and watch server logs.
    In our services-config.xml, I see
    <adapters>
         <adapter-definition id="messagingAdapter" class="FluorineFx.Messaging.Services.Messaging.MessagingAdapter" default="true"/>
    </adapters>
    Is there some way via actionscript to set up these adapters? Even if it means creating custom XML on the fly for the objects to parse thru, which I'm already doing in some places. Where are the adapters definable other than the services-config.xml?
    Thanks.
    Well the apadters have nothing to do with it as I can remove the mention from the xml and doing things via mxml still works and the AS3 stuff still doesn't work.

  • ADF faces-config.xml file

    Hi ADF gurus,
    I am new to this technology and i have found in oracle developer's guide that "Registering managed beans within the faces-config.xml file is not recommended in a Fusion web application".
    URL : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E28271_01/web.1111/e28164/web_getstarted.htm#CACCFIII
    Section: Using a Managed Bean in a Fusion Web Application
    My question is why this?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sharmistha

    If you plan to use the ADF stack there are some enhancements added to the normal faces lifecycle like bounded task flows, pageFlowScope and some additional phases the normal faces lifecaycle doesn't have. This additions are handled in the adcf-config.xml. If you register your beans in the facces-config file they are not managed by the adf stack and therefore can't use the additions.
    So Oracle encourage you to use the adfc-config.xml instead of the faces-config.xml. There are a few special entries which still needed to be made in the faces-config file (e.g. skinning), butin general you use the adfc-config file is you use adf rich faces.

  • Services-config.xml for AIR application

    Hello,
    I am relatively new to flex. I am primarily a .net developer. I want to know how can I make a sample applicaion which uses services-config.xml
    Is there a tutorial which can help me...
    Any help is appriciated on this.
    Regards,
    Pavas

    The information in the compiled swf needs to match the information used at
    server runtime. It basically uses the endpoint URL and perhaps a few other
    tidbits from the config.
    We have tokens in the URL for server, port and context root, which help the
    'portability' of the swf, but if you change the MessageBroker servlet
    mapping for instance, this will probably break the swf.
    You *can* however, control the endpoint used by the client by using
    Actionscript APIs (see the docs), but you still of course have to code that
    in to the compiled application unless you prompt the user for that info.
    Does that help?

    I need to add just one more thing and that is on battery life.  Last night I sat with the rMBP on my lap installing software, surfing the web, answering emails for close to 4 and 1/2 hours.  At the point I took it back to the charger it still was showing a computed battery time remaining of 3.5 hours.
    Today I had two VMs open and took the machine of the charger and sat outside with my dogs for about 30 minutes.  During this time I was working in both VMs, editing and compiling code.  My battery life estimate showed a good solid 4 hours.
    This is roughly 6 times greater than what I had with my 2010 MBP and it too had a SSD.  I am not sure why but this retina MBP just seems to not work as hard doing anything that caused my 2010 MBP to struggle.
    While the battery life is certainly better than I expected it is clear that load can change that very rapidly. So I think I still need to visit clients with an external battery or charger in hand.  But I don't think I will be quite so scared that my laptop will simply run out of power before I can even get it plugged in.

  • Merge config.xml

    Hi,
    WLS 6.1
    Is there a xsl stylesheet that merges two config.xml files?
    The idea is the following:
    We have a master config.xml, configuring the admin server and the core of
    our product.
    For each optional part of our product, we have a specific config.xml file,
    defining servers, connection pools, JMS pool, and so on. Some of these
    configuration files might reference the same server.
    We would like to include each of those specific config.xml into the main
    one, avoiding duplication of server definitions, pools, etc...
    It seems that a xsl stylesheet could do that (at least for one specific
    config.xml), but I did not find anything. Does anyone have any idea on how
    to do this?
    Thanks,
    Patrick

    Remove duplicate server from config.xml with xslt:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform">

    guess I'll have it defined twice in the reulting xml document.
    Is that correct? Does WLS handle this easily?

  • Issue Connecting from Oracle Business Component Browser - adf-config.xml

    There are similar posts in the forum to this, but I wasn't able to glean from them what I should do.
    Essentially, I tried Connecting by:
    right clicking on a node under a Model project, and selected TEST.
    When the Oracle Business Component Browser - Connect Dialog window opened, I clicked CONNECT.The Oracle Business Component Browser (Local) seems to have opened fine, but in the message log I see this:
    "jar:file:/C:/JDeveloper/jdev/doc/studio_doc/ohj/bc4j_f1.jar!/bc4j_f1.hs"

    I'm not experienced enough to know whether this is significant or not, nor if so what I need to do about this.
    Thank you to anyone who can help a newer person out with this.

    Hi,
    the adf-config.xaml file is not created by default and not needed by default. you need this to define custom skins or ADF Security.
    For an example of adfs-config.xml doe skins see SRDemo sample app

  • Coherence-cache-config.xml not visible from EAR

    hello all.
    I've met following issues. The coherence does not see my custom cache-config.xml and thereby uses the default from coherence.jar.
    Environment:
    1. WLS 10.3, Coherence 3.7, jvm 1.6
    2. the active-cache is deployed as shared library
    3. the dedicated coherence cluster is configured through WLS Admin console and all started with -Dtangosol.coherence.cacheconfig=d:\OracleFM\R11.1.1.5\WLSGeneric\user_projects\domains\mvn_domain1\coherence-config\coherence-cache-config.xml.. The output shows that the cluster is started and my cache service is started also:
    Services
    ClusterService{Name=Cluster, State=(SERVICE_STARTED, STATE_JOINED), Id=0, Version=3.7.1, OldestMemberId=1}
    InvocationService{Name=Management, State=(SERVICE_STARTED), Id=1, Version=3.1, OldestMemberId=1}
    PartitionedCache{Name=MVN_Test_Service, State=(SERVICE_STARTED), LocalStorage=enabled, PartitionCount=257, BackupCount=1, AssignedPartitions=257, BackupPartitions=0}
    Cache services are configured with auto-start=true
    4. the coherence.jar is placed in EAR\lib\coherence.jar
    5. I've got tried to place coherence-cache-config.xml in the following places within EAR
    EAR
    APP-INF\classes\coherence-cache-config.xml
    EAR
    lib\coherence-cache-config.xml
    EAR
    MyModule.jar\META-INF\coherence-cache-config.xml
    The result is that coherence uses default config file from coherence.jar instead of the custom one that deployed with EAR. In fact I do not have ideas what is wrong there....
    And yet, the coherence that deployed with EAR sucessfully joined to cluster, but only to Service Management. From output: "Member 2 joined Service Management with senior member 1"

    Hello Robert. Thanks for prompt reply.
    If by saying that you deployed coherence.jar as a shared library means that you put it on the server classpath
    In fact I didn't say that. I said that "4. the coherence.jar is placed in EAR\lib\coherence.jar"
