Production test manager application

Hi All,
I am developing production test software with LabVIEW 8.2 for hardware board. In our software, we are using database to store operator id, test id, production site, tests result and so on.
I want to make application (Production Test Manager), which targets to that production test software and initialize itself all the components(such as database) of it and run accordingly.
I am also using application toolbox to create .exe of production test software.
How do i create it, pls provide me yours valuable ideas.

Hello Puneet,
I'm afraid you'll need to give us a little more information before we can recommend any specific solutions. What type of hardware are you interfacing with and will the hardware on the test stations be changing?
Norbert was exactly right that it sounds like our TestStand automated test software would be a good fit for your application. You can find more information about it at www.ni.com/teststand. I would recommend checking out the What is NI TestStand link as well as the 4-Minute Introductory Demo.
If you are trying to communicate with MySQL then you might also want to look at the Database Connectivity Toolkit for LabVIEW (found HERE). This toolkit gives you the ability to easily connect to any type of SQL server and perform database management.
As I said, though, these are just general recommendations that might apply to your project. In order to give you more detailed suggestions please post more information.

    Hi ,
    You can create a single dynamic distribution group with the condition to have only the mailboxes in exchange as its members . Then when a person send an email to that  Dynamic distribution group it will get distributed to all the mailboxes
    in exchange.
    Note : Most important feature in the dynamic group is that the membership of that group will be maintained automatically and also along with that we can have group membership by defining the recipient types/OU /rules.
    I agree with ED and also based on my knowledge you cannot achieve your scenario without Distribution groups or dynamic distribution groups.

  • Microsoft Test Manager 2010(I am trying to add a link, so the link will appear in the expected results)

    Hi,
    In Microsoft Test Manager I am trying to add a link in the expected reults tab, so the person testing the test case can click on the link without closing down anything. I am able to add the link in the expected results area, but there is no hyperlink coming
    up, so the tester would have to copy and paste it. Is there a way around this?
    PS. Sorry if this is in the wrong category, I did not see Test Manager.
    Thanks,
    Steve

  • Error while testing an application service

    Hi,
    I have created a project wherein I have imported a standard BAPI as an external service and calling this external service in an application service.
    Following is the code used for the same:
    public com.sap.esproj.appsrv.datatypes.CompanyData getUserDetails(java.lang.String id) throws com.sap.caf.rt.exception.ServiceException {
            // logging
            java.lang.String CAF_user = sessionContext.getCallerPrincipal().getName();
            java.lang.String CAF_methodHeader = ESAppServiceBean.JARM_REQUEST + ":" + "getUserDetails(java.lang.String)";
            Object[] CAF_parameters = new Object[] {id};
            com.sap.caf.rt.util.CAFPublicLogger.entering(CAF_user, ESAppServiceBean.JARM_REQUEST, CAF_methodHeader, ESAppServiceBean.location, CAF_parameters);
              com.sap.esproj.appsrv.datatypes.CompanyData retValue;
              try {
    //@@custom code start - getUserDetails(java.lang.String)
                   retValue = null;
    //                  Create data container for Input-Parameter and fill it.
                   BAPI__USER__GET__DETAIL
                         params = new BAPI__USER__GET__DETAIL();
                         params.setUSERNAME(id);
    //                  Get reference to the object representing the external service call.
                   BAPI__USER__GET__DETAILLocal bapi_local = this.getBAPI__USER__GET__DETAIL();
                   try {
    //                  Call the BAPI.
    //                  Return value of this method call contains all the data that the BAPI returns.
                        BAPI__USER__GET__DETAIL_dot_Response result = bapi_local.BAPI__USER__GET__DETAIL(params);
    //                  Retrieve the address structure out of the result data container.
                     BAPIADDR3 addr =
                   result.getADDRESS();
    //                  Fill the application services return structure.
                     retValue = new CompanyData();
                     retValue.setFirstName(addr.getFIRSTNAME());
                     retValue.setLastName(addr.getLASTNAME());
                   } catch (Exception e) {
                     e.printStackTrace();
                     throw new ServiceException(e);
    //@@custom code end - getUserDetails(java.lang.String)
                 return retValue;
            } finally {
                com.sap.caf.rt.util.CAFPublicLogger.exiting(CAF_user, ESAppServiceBean.JARM_REQUEST, CAF_methodHeader, ESAppServiceBean.location, CAF_parameters);
    I have also completed external service configuration.
    There is no compile time error and deployment is successful. When I try to test the application service I am getting the following error: ERROR. The following exception occured while processing your request: com.sap.caf.rt.exception.ServiceException.:
    Can anyone help me in resolving this error.

  • Uable to see link 'Managing Application Express Users'

    When I login to admin page for the workspace, I can only see 'Monitor Activity ' 'Change Password ' and 'About Application Express ' links not other two mentioned below. Am I missing something here. Please help
    About Administration
    An Administration list appears on the right side of the Workspace home page. Use the following links to administer your application development environment:
    Administration links to the Application Administration page. Use this page to perform administrative tasks. See "About the Application Administration Page" in Oracle Application Express Administration Guide.
    Manage Services links to the Manage Services page. Use this page to manage session state, log files, preferences, and application models. See "About the Manage Services Page" in Oracle Application Express Administration Guide.
    Manage Application Express Users links to the Existing Users page. Use this page to manage existing Application Express users and user groups. See "Managing Application Express Users" and "Using Groups to Manage Application Express Users" in Oracle Application Express Administration Guide.
    Monitor Activity links to the Monitor Activity page. Use this page to monitor page views and view application changes. See "Monitoring Activity within a Workspace" in "Oracle Application Express Administration Guide.
    Change Password links to the Change Password page. Use this page to change your workspace password. See "Resetting Your Password" in Oracle Application Express Administration Guide.
    About Application Express links to the About Application Express page. This page displays version and configuration information for both Application Express and the Oracle database. See "Viewing the Application Express Product Information Page" in Oracle Application Express Administration Guide.
    About Migrations

    User,
    What is your name?
    It sounds like you've been configured as a developer, not a workspace administrator. You'll need to talk to the person that created your account.

  • Oracle Test Manager - Import of Manual Tests - Fails with ORA-12520:

    Hi,
    This issue occurs when we are trying to import manual tests into the Oracle Test Manager.
    The import fails when we try to import more than 300 records. The error message in the log
    is as shown below:
    Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed
    ORA-12520: TNS:listener could not find available handler for requested type of server
    9:50:30:020 - *** DB Exception *** State:S1000,Native:12520,Origin:[Oracle][ODBC][Ora]
    State:IM006,Native:0,Origin:[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager]
    State:S1000,Native:12520,Origin:[Oracle][ODBC][Ora]
    No one can logon to the application after this.
    According to the DBA the application is using up all the processes in the Database and hence it fails.
    When we restart the application service, the number of processes in the database goes down
    and the application goes back to normal state.
    We keep running into this issue when we try to import >=300 manual tests. (This is not an issue
    when runs are imported.)
    Anybody else facing this issue? Any ideas as to how this can be resolved?
    Thanks
    Aruna

    Hi,
    I had some problems with. So, consider the following:
    Simple XLS file :
    testname     owner     testdescription               Expected Result
    test1          wayne     Login into User Homepage     User can view login prompt
                   View Accout Details          User can see account details
                   Create simple report          User has access to reports section
                   Save as pdf               .pdf generate button is available
                   send email               email button is active
                   log off                    User can View log off page
    So we have four fields, teatname,owner,testdescription and Expected Result.
    When we import a test (select Test tab, then project->import data, and select .xls file)
    Make sure Select Type is set to Manual Tests
    Map      testname -> TestCase ID
         owner -> Owner
         testdescription -> Test Step Action
         Expected Result -> Test step expected result
    Make sure Select Type is set to Manual Tests. You should then see one test with all the steps.
    Regards
    Wayne.
    p.s. Thanks Alex!!

  • Solution Manager Test Management Process

    Hi,
    I have been assigned for a solution manager task for test process,I have used for uploading and downloading the documents ,the transaction used solar01 and solar02.
    The process includes right from for eg.FS ,TS till CR,in future if anyone access can see the complete tree of the CR(Change Request.
    How to provide the link between if anyone access CR to see the entire tree.
    I have given the requirements below.
    Description: There is no standard framework for test management , specifically the application support domain. Presently, all test efforts (unit test, integration test, non-regression test, stress test, acceptance test) are managed and executed on project or change level, i.e subject to discretion and goodwill of the individual project manager / change owner. In order to strengthen both the test process and tool support, the global Solman is to be prepared for that. Proposed phased approach is:
    a.       Familiarize and explore standard Solman functions and features for test management in global Solman (test client); hands-on tests to be started after completed IBM migration
    b.      Setup sample test plan and cases, load sample content (test script). Select appropriate test use case independently and in close communication with local contact or project mgr.
    c.       Document and showcase sample to SAP COE and representatives.
    d.      Offer and decide on deployment options.
    e.       Provide ongoing support and coaching; documentation; break-fix support as needed (expected: minimal)
    Test automation and non-SAP test mgmt are not in scope .
    Guide me,since the target date is fixed
    Regards,
    Anu

    Hi,
    As far as I know the only solution for this would be to split it in two test cases, so you can assign the two testers in sequence.
    You can assign the same test case for multiple testers but you can't split half of it for each tester.
    Kind regards,
    Fabricius

  • Unable to start Oracle Application Testing Suite Application service

    Hi ,
    I have installed OATS 9.1 successfully on my machine , but there is some problem in starting Oracle Application Testing Suite Application Service .
    I am not able to access Oracle Test Manager , when i start the service manually it gives "Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion" error message .
    Is there any explicit setting required after installation to start the service .
    Please help me to get out of this problem .
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi,
    Is the Oracle XE service running? Did the database install go OK? Is there anything in the log files in c:\oracleats\logs to give us a hint - check out wls_oats.log and others in this location.
    Regards,
    Jamie

    can any body tell me why it is happening.

    I have seen that problem happening before, even that i was never able to figure out why, something that you can try is changing the service log in credentials for both:
    Oracle Application Testing Suite Agent Service
    Oracle Application Testing Suite Application Service
    and use a proper user with admin rights.
    let me know if that helped

  • Can't install Oracle Test Manager

    Hi,
    I’m trying to install Oracle Test Manager and I have got an error message on XE installation step: “installation of OracleXE failed.”
    The first line of log file says : “OXE_Detect: No OATS installed version found. Detecting external OXE version.
    However there is no trace of XE, neigther in Program Files nor in Services. Only the following Oracle services exist:
    •     Oracle Application Testing Suite Helper Service (Open Scipt) =>Running
    •     OracleMTSRecoveryService
    •     Oracleora9i_homeClientCache
    Is there anything to remove in Registry or somewhere else?
    Thanks by advance for your help

    Hi,
    You can validate OID installation through 'opmnctl' and/or 'ldapbind'. You can access 'Oracle Directory Services Manager' through a browser using the url -
    'http://<host>:<port>/odsm/faces/odsm.jspx'.
    Here is a link which shows screenshots of the overview of 'Oracle Directory Services Manager'.
