ProductPreviewSize and ProductThumbSize in Config Settings : Commerce

Hi,
Can someone advise exactly what the above settings affect in WT? I have tried changing them but have not spotted any difference to my images.
The UI refers to 'AutoGenerated' preview images is this comment still relevant and if so what are autogenerated images in this context?
Thanks

Hello,
I can shed some light on this subject.
ProductThumbSize = The size of the product images as shown in search results and list view in categories. The normal setting is small, 90x90 i believe. These are pixel ratios, so for bigger thumbnail previews you could up the number for example to 150x150. (Note, if you have specified a thumbnail to use on the Item's detail page, the system will NOT automatically resize this image. It only does the auto-generation of thumbnails for Items which only have an Image associated with them, not a thumbnail. The reasoning behind this is that auto image resizing creates a less clear thumbnail than if you have resized all the thumbnails manually. Many people prefer to create their own thumbnails.)
ProductPreviewSize = The size of the image on the partdetail page. It will not stretch the image, so if this is set greater than your image size, you will see normal sized images.
Also, you will probably want to re-cache and restart asp.net for these settings to take affect as I believe they are stored in memory.

  • Sender and Receiver IDOC config Settings

Guys I have just come up with this document as a quick reference guide to enable me to be able to configure IDOC scenarios quickly and efficiently. Couls you please let me know if this looks ok and all is in the correct order.
    <u>Quick Guide to Scenarios</u>
Note A Ports only purpose is to allow either the SAP R/3 Backend system to establish an RFC connection with XI or allow the XI to establish an RFC Connection with the Receiver SAP R/3 system.
Note An RFC Destinations purpose is to: A) Communicate with the SAP system
    B) Pull metadata from either the Sender/Receiver SAP R/3 System or another reference system that contains the same IDOC.
    <u>Sender IDOC Scenario</u>
When configuring an IDOC Sender adapter there are a few things that you need to configure before you even start with the Config Directory itself.
Because IDOC Adapter resides on the ABAP stack no sender agreement or sender Comm Channel is necessary
Your main configuration is in R/3. You configure R/3 to send the IDOC to XI so hence you don’t need an IDOC Adapter or Comm Channel.
    1.     You need to define an RFC destination to XI in the R/3 Backend system. (SM59).  This RFC destination is used to retrieve the IDOC metadata from the sender system. The IDOC adapter needs these metadata to create the corresponding IDOC-XML message from the RFC stream.
    2.     Assign the destination to a Port in the R/3 Backend system (WE21)
    3.     Define your Partner Profiles for the IDOC you are trying to send and Reference that Port there as well (WE20)
Based on the above conditions, you do not need a Sender Comm Channel for IDOC or a Sender Agreement for the business scenario. Your only configuration in the Config Directory is to define R/3 as a Business System (no Comm Channel) and define the Receiver Business System along with the Receiver Determination, Interface Determination and Receiver agreement.
<b><u>I'm not sure if this step is necessary in the sender IDOC scenario</u></b> -
In XI box you must also define the ports in IDX1 which allows you to establish an RFC connection to pull the metadata in from the backend system, by specifying the RFC destination from where you want to get the info from. This system is defined by the sender port and the client in the IDOC control record. It is either the sender SAP system or an SAP reference system.
There are certain cases which you also need to use IDX2 (Cache). XI itself does need the IDOC metadata to execute the interface but it can usually use IDX1 to pull this data either from the SAP R/3 system or an equivalent reference system. However if there is already cached metadata and the IDOC has changed then IDX1 will not execute. In this instance you can pull this metadata manually using IDX2 (XI Box).
    <u>Receiver IDOC</u>
When you receive an IDOC things are a little more complex. You do need a Sender agreement and Comm Channel defined. Again there is much to be done in XI and the R/3 Receiver system before you get to the configuration of the Config Directory.
    1.     In XI you must configure the RFC destination which enables XI to communicate with the Target System (SM59)
    2.     In XI you must then create the port which allows you to establish an RFC Connection. In this port you define the RFC destination you previously defined. (IDX1)
    3.     You then must also ensure that a Partner Profile has been established in the Target system which allows XI to send IDOC’s to the Target system. (WE20)
Once the above is completed you can then continue to configure your IDOC scenario in the Config directory. In your Receiver Adapter you reference both the Port and RFC destination that you just established along with the Release which is to be the Target systems release. You must also specify an Interface version which again is the Target systems version.
Apart from the above the rest of the steps in the Config Directory are as normal.<b></b><u></u>

    Hi,
As per my knowledge you need to configure port in IDXI in XI to pull the metadata.
Its a mandatory step to pull the metadata whatever be scenario like whether you  are sending an IDoc or receiving an IDoc.
So please configure RFC destination, IDX1 and IDX2 in XI side.
Only after pulling the IDoc metadata you can proceed with any of the IDoc scenario.
Whenever there a IDoc is changed you need to delete the previous metadata and pull it again. In such situations you can use the already existing port in IDX1.
    Hope this helps you out.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Vineetha

  • Config Settings: Commerce : Wish List tick box

I unticked the Wishlist in the above and expected to see the default red 'Save'  buttons disappear from the WT site but despite re-caching the save buttons are stil there.
Is this tick box functional in the current release?
    Thanks

I am not sure about the status on the tickbox functionality, but I normally removed these buttons by using an HTML comment around them in the PartPriceBlock.ascx control in the commerce folder.

  • Config Settings - ProductPreviewSize & ProductThumbSize

I know that in the Config Settings I can set the ProductPreviewSize and ProductThumbSize for some of the different pages, but I have two questions about these properties.
    1)  What if I want to have different image sizes on my productdetail and picturebrowser pages?
    2)  Are these writeable properties that I can change on the fly?  If that is the case, I can just change it on the fly to fix problem 1.  Would that also let me dynamically change the size of the image based on the user's screen resolution?
    Thanks,
    Derek

I forgot that you can also put a div around the image on the product detail page and then use div img to scale the images on a creen size basis.

  • Client comparison in screens, config settings, tables and Business Process

    Hello Champions,
Will anyone guide me is there any transaction/any method SAP providing/supporting to compare two clients (all existing screens, control data, config settings, tables, including Business process settings also).   If it is there what is the procedure.
    Full points to the answer

for config settings, you can log into new client, goto spro and navigate to whichever customization u need to do, there in utilities u have an option called Adjustment, click on that and give the RFC destination of the other client u need to compare..... further exploration can be done easily.
    Cheers...

  • Mousewheel not scrolling and config settings appear to be OK, is this a FF17 thing or what?

Of the few solutions I have read, all talk about slowness or some other performance issue - my mouse wheel scrolling has stopped altogether and nothing I have tried works, including restarting with add-ons disabled and checking the config.

You can set the scroll amount for the mouse wheel via mousewheel prefs on the about:config page
    mousewheel.withnokey.numlines = 2
    mousewheel.withnokey.sysnumlines = false
Look at this pref to set the scrolling behavior with the keyboard.
    toolkit.scrollbox.verticalScrollDistance (3)

    http://kb.mozillazine.org/About:config_entries#Mousewheel.
There are extensions that work both for the mouse and the keyboard to set the scroll amount, but they can only be set to scroll an amount of pixels and not to scroll one line regardless of font-size (height) of the text.

  • When closing Firefox windows, I would like a warning before the last window closes. The about:config settings do nothing. There is a warning for multiple tabs..

When closing Firefox windows, I would like a warning before the last window closes. The about:config settings do nothing. There is a warning for multiple tabs... why not for the last window? I do not use tabs... just windows... I have a mouse button programmed for that. It is really irritating to have to restart Firefox all the time and then open the history window because no warning was issued!

This is ridiculous. I've had this problems for years now and I'm finally walking away from Firefox. I use my keyboards more than my mouse, and how many times does your finger slip and hit Command Q instead of W. How come FF can't reset something as trivial as this? So many people are having problems with this?
Feels like FF has become too big, too slow and just not cooperative anymore. What a shame, I've been using Netscape/Firefox for 13 years. This is silly.

  • Config settings for making Inbound delivery instead of TR

    Hi,
Scenario- Plant to plant stock transfer from Non WM plant to WM enabled Plant. Material document is posted and quant lies in st type 920.
In the current system settings it creates TR automatically (Path - WM-interfaces-IM-define MVT - LE WM interface to IM - field Create TR)
Question - Instead of system creating TR, I want Inbound dely to be created. What are the config settings to be done?
    Regards.

First, you need to work against Stock Transfer Purchase Orders with confirmation control 0004 - Inbound delivery for every item in the STO.
    So the process steps are:
    1. Create STO for plant to plant with confirmation control 0004 at item level (assuming that relevant configuration is available in MM-Purchasing)
    2. Create outbound delivery from issuing plant and issue the goods.
    3. Create Inbound delivery using transaction VL31N (you can automate this if you have SAP ECC 6.0)

  • Save user modified 'about:config' settings in FF 9

Nifty YouTube vids about increasing speed. Go to 'about:config' and modify pipelining & persistent settings. However; when I restart FF and check, the settings are back to what they were before. So, how can I save the settings?

  • The proxy settings supplied by my work's IT dept. don't work with Firefox on my Nexus. I have entered them in the about:config settings list but to no avail.

I have tried to change the config settings in line with a lsited posting, and these are:
    network.proxy.type =1
network.proxy.http = setting from IT dept.
    network.proxy.http_port = 8080
Is there anything else I should do?

Are you experiencing this issue with another browser?

  • Migrate about:config settings from 3.6 to 4.0

Over time, I have incorporated many changes and enhancements to Firefox 3.6, in the about:config settings. Many of these are timing changes or speedups of basic settings recommended by users and others intent on making things faster.
Will it be at all possible to move this over to 4.0, or is that pretty much a "start over" kind of project?

Put those prefs into a '''user.js''' file, to make them more "portable". That makes it a lot easier when you need to ''(or want to)'' create a new Profile with all your special Firefox about:config change.
To get started creating a new user.js file you can open your '''prefs.js''' file in a simple text editor program ''(one that won't change the line formatting appearance)'' and copy the prefs that you changed in about:config into another text window line-by-line. <br />''(Yep, you need to find them line-by-line, they're going to be intermixed with prefs set by extension that you have installed.)'' <br />When you have all those prefs in the 2nd window, you can add the code needed by the user.js that differs from what prefs.js uses - '''user_pref(" ''' & ''' ")''' before and after the actual pref - type it once and copy&paste each of those two line-by-line for each pref line.''<br />
    http://kb.mozillazine.org/User.js_file <br />
It's a lot of work the first time to get started with a user.js file, but it the long run it's a real time and frustration saver. I have been using the same basic user.js file since 2005, and all I need to do is change the few prefs that might get changed in a new version and also add whatever new prefs that I want to set for the new version, for new added features.
''Additional information about using a '''user.js''' file in Firefox:'' <br />
Firefox looks at the user.js file every time it starts for additions or changes to preferences, and then writes those to the prefs.js file.
'''user.js''' doesn't exist by default, it has to be created. This extension will create that file automatically upon installation and it provides an editing window for the three "user" files from within Firefox. ''You don't have to dig thru your file system every time you want to do a minor edit.''

  • How can I retain about:config settings when updating firefox?

Really appreciate all the hard work creating updates but every time I update I lose my about:config settings, especially the browser.tab ones that I rely on. Specifically I use non-default settings on InsertRelatedAfterCurrent and all the warning ones. (I never want to be warned). I also use the Tabs on Bottom plugin which also has to be reinstalled after major updates. I run Firefox on at least 4 separate machines so it is a rather huge headache to have to reconfigure after each update. Is there a way to tell Firefox to update but don't change my settings back to defaults?
    Thanks for a great browser.

Those settings should not get lost...
Is it possible you used the Refresh feature? Sometimes after an update installs Firefox displays a message that it is running sluggishly and you can improve performance by restoring some default settings. That runs the Refresh feature, which will default your settings and remove all of your extensions (the ones you installed into Firefox yourself, not ones that were added by other software on your system). The telltale sign is that an Old Firefox Data folder appears on your desktop with your "old" settings folder inside. If you have experienced this repeatedly, there may be several old folders inside. Could that be the explanation?
You might want to create a backup of your prefs.js file, which stores your modified Firefox preferences, before your next update. You can find that file in your currently active Firefox settings (profile) folder as follows (either):
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
    * (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
    * type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
In the first table on the page, click the "Show Folder" button. This should launch a new window listing various files and folders in Windows Explorer.
Scroll down and make a copy of prefs.js (or it may shows prefs and a file type of JScript) in a safe location such as your documents folder.
