Program able to get data in Foreground but wasn't able to using Background

Hi BW Folks,
I have this weird problem wherein whenever I run this custom program that I made during a Background session, the program wasn't able to get any data. But when I tested it and ran it in Foreground, the program was able to get me data.
Now I'm currently clueless on why it's happening as I can't debug the program running in Background.
Do you have similar experiences or do you have clues on where to look at?

Hi Ravi,
The program (run via SE38) is customized in such a way it produces an outbound by extracting data in a bex query. Inside the program, it calls the bex query and runs it during runtime. It captures the data and produces a file in text format.
Weird thing here is that it is perfectly working when we tested it in the UAT environment (and still working now there) but when it was transported to Production, that is when the issue occured.
The issue exactly is, in Production, when the program is ran in background, it returns a message "No Applicable data" same like the one when we run a bex query if there are no data extracted. But when the report is ran in Foreground, it is working. Same user id used during background/foreground.

Abnormal, Same query get data in sql but not working on Fron-end

We have created packed in oracle database befor two months ago & was working fine, but since morning select statment in package is not working while running via application which mentioned below and raise not data found but surprising thing is that same query is getting data when we execut on sql plus return one record.
i don't know either it's abnormal behaviour or sth else becuase the same query run without changing any singl column in where_clause work in sql but not getting data while submition request through oracle application and raising not data found.

Actully when i run this query in sql it return one record on the same parameter, while when we exeucte this select in pl/sql on the same parameter oracle raise no data found error.
so i got confused the same query with same parameter retur record in sql but when we call it fron-end through packege raise 'no data found error'.

Getting Data from RSRT but not from Bex Analyser

Hi All,
I am facing a strange issue with Bex Analyser(BI 7.0). When a user trying to execute a query/report he is not able see the input values what he supposed to see in parameters screen(Instead of his authorised values he is getting some other values in input parameters, eventhough he has sufficient authorisations (may be history)).
When I tried to execute the same report from RSRT, everything is fine, I have tried another option as well.. that is I have copied the same access and executed with that then its working fine. I have cleared the cache from RSRT and tried. but no luck.
If anyone come across to the same issue please let me know.

In rsudo transaction I can see the values as per the user profile. The issue with only Bex Analyser and one more thing I have created another userid with the same access and it works fine.
And he didnt do the Bex personalisation.

Interrupt program execution to get data and resume execution

Hi everybody,
Does somebody know how can I interrupt the execution of my program (main VI and all sub-VIs), display a dialog box, collect a given datum from the user, and resume execution?

On the other hand, dialogs in LabVIEW are inherently blocking anyway. What exactly are you trying to accomplish, and how much do you know about LabVIEW? Sounds like you might want to go through some of the online tutorials.

When trying to install firefox the program does not accept my administrator password but I know I am using the correct password.

Firefox's installer program does not accept my administrator password. The program won't load. I tried it with version 8 several times a couple weeks ago. Now I just tried it with version 9 a couple times. No luck.

Can not get data from database

hi all,
    there is a problem , when i write like below :
SELECT * FROM bsis INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE it_temp
          WHERE bukrs = p_bukrs
            AND hkont = p_hkont.
p_bukrs , p_hkont are all on the selection screen , and p_bukrs = 1200 another is eq blank. i can not find any data , but with the same condition i can find some data in database , when i debeg i found that p_hkont is initial.
    when i write like this :

          WHERE bukrs = p_bukrs .
this time i can find the data like the database.
    so , does someone know where the problem is , why i can not get data ?

if u r using bukrs and hkont as parameters in selection screen then
SELECT * FROM bsis INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE it_temp
WHERE bukrs = p_bukrs
AND hkont = p_hkont.
this will work.
if u r using then as select-option then the above does n't work.
bcoz select-options work as internal table bcoz of that u have use the query like this
SELECT * FROM bsis INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE it_temp
WHERE bukrs IN p_bukrs
AND hkont IN p_hkont.

Why every GOOP "Get Data to Modify" is set as reentrant?

Hello All
I found out that in every GOOP programs like e.g. "report generation" the vi "Get Data to Modify" is set as reentrant.
Can somebody explain to me why it is so?

Hi Pawel,
The reason for the "Get Data Modify.vi" to be reentrant is that if you for example have two parallel executing VI which both tries to access and lock the attributes of the same object, one will successfully lock the attributes and continue execution. The other VI will be forced to wait until the attributes are unlock again. The Get Data To Modify for this will the will "get stucked" and not finishing executing until the attributes are unlocked or the timeout occurs (compare with a LabVIEW semaphore).
Further, if you have another VI executing in parallel to the situation described above (totally three parallel activities) and this code tries to lock and modify another object of the same class. If the Get Data To Modify VI wasn't reentre
nt, this VI should be forced to wait until the Get Data To Modify finished executing for the first situation, actuall the second object is forced to wait on the first objects attributes to be unlocked! This is not the case if the Get Data To Modify is reentrant, the second objects attributes could then be locked immediatly and the execution continues as expected.

Getting data out of Oracle to SQL Server 2005

I am new in Oracle and I have this question.
I need to transfer lots of data frequently at day from a large Oracle DB to a SQL Server 2005 Database.
Could you tell me what tools (including PL/SQL) ORACLE offers to reach this goal?
*.Dat files are still a way to perform this job or other method more performance (quickly and efficiently) are available?
Using MS SSIS is better ?

template is fixed we it can't be expand . u can better to use table line it can automaticlly expending if data is more ... u can create one more page like page 2 and create a window for entire second page ..then assign it in first page (next page page2).

Standard ALV grid uses the FM <b>ALV_XXL_CALL</b> for exporting data into Excel. You can put a break-point in the FM and check it for urself.
for ur info - the above FM takes the internal table name, internal table content and the field catalog as input.

I assume that in your case you have two program lets say ZFOREGROUND and ZBACKGROUND (Called inside zforeground using submit statement)
zforeground has :
1. a input field to browse excel sheet or some file at the selection screen, and
2. button 'post all' to determine the background processing.
Now your requirement is such that you want zbackground to get scheduled as background job when post all button is clicked.

Not able to get data in production client in BEX query

Hi Experts,
I have an SD related query which is working fine in development.
in production while i run the query iam not getting data for three fields "ship to party" , "Bill to party" and "sold to party.
I am able to see the data at the cube level but it is not reflecting in the query. Transportation of this query also
did not throw any errors. Please provide a solution.

Hi,
Check if the characteristics used in query are direct objects from cube or navigation attributes of any other characteristics. In case of navigation attributes you need to have master data maintained.
And as mentioned by Vamsi, check the text data maintained for 0CUSTOMER. And for checking data you can mark Key and Text option.
