Program doesnt run due to classpath issues?

Question

I am trying to get my Java program to run and it doesnt seem to want to work after it compiles. The two classes (Dog and DogTest) compile but the DogTest wont run and gives me error messages.
I have both classes in first directory in the following location: C:\Tomcat5.5Home\webapps\second\WEB-INF\classes\first>
Here is how I am running it on the Command line:
C:\Tomcat5.5Home\webapps\second\WEB-INF\classes>javac first/Dog.java
C:\Tomcat5.5Home\webapps\second\WEB-INF\classes>javac first/DogTest.java

Please advise what I can do to get this working?
Here is the Dog.java file:

I still have to set the classpath manually:
C:\Tomcat5.5Home\webapps\second\WEB-INF\classes>setWhat you need to do is figure out what you are doing.
If you intend to run something in tomcat then you won't be using classpaths. (Tomcat adjusts appropriately.)
If you intend to use something in tomcat (but not run in the server) then you need to adjust your class path to include those items and also add your new stuff. Your stuff will NOT live in the tomcat directories though.
