Program examples and documentation SBO 2004

Hello to everybody!
I have to upgrade my addons from release 6.5 to 2004.
I've looking for the documentation and I have found something in the Solution Development area of the SDN portal and the help libreries in Service & Support.
Is there any other documentation?
Besides where are the example programs for the release 2004?

Hi Veronica,
You need to download the 2004 help files/documentation from the Service Marketplace. I'm not sure why they're not available in this SDN website as the documentation is available for the 6.5 version. There are some example programs in C:\Program Files\SAP Manage\SAP Business One SDK\Samples (or similar).

Source of PDF SDK examples and documentation.

I am creating PDF documents from scratch using the Adobe PDF SDK using the "Acrobat and PDF Library API Reference" but find it's lack of examples and detail frustrating. Is there any addition documentation or third-party books that would be helpful?

It appears most of the examples relate to creating plugins rather generating new PDF as I am doing. For example I also wish the use the PDEPatternCreate library function. A text search of the V8 and V9 SDK reveals only a few references in header files. No actual examples on how to construct the raw CosObjP which I assume must be based on the format from the PDF language specification. I can't see any practical examples on how to create such objects. I always find example code is a great learning tool because you can see functions and structures used in context with each other and thus more easily understand how they fit together.

I have problem to register add-ons to SBO 2004

-. I build the installer using packager default of Visual Basic 6.0.

-. when i register the add-on and restart SBO 2004, the system show the message error:
"Command Line arguments..."
Someone, have a procedure step by step to register add-ons to SBO?

You need to declare this functions from the SBOAddonReg.dll.
I got this code from SAP, hope this works, it's VB .NET
Also: To use the license key I go to Project/Project properties/Configuration properties/Command line arguments
and I copy the license to this field, and it works.
Did you try from command line something like this?

Rightclick and context menu functionality in SBO 2004

hi guys...
how to capture the right click event and the context menu event. I have seen the right click example in the SBO 2005 examples but how to get that functionality in SBO 2004, there r no SAPbouiCOM.ContextMenuInfo and SBO_Application.RightClickEvent

I don't think you can achieve this in the 2004 version as it was an entirely new feature in the 2005A SDK.

i think it is bad new for you. if it's any consilation i went through the same thing when i loaded mountain lion when it first came out. i think the problem is that mountain lion is a pure 64bit operating system and the software you have is 32bit. earlier os's were able to emulate 32bit but the new system does not. the answer is new software. i did it and it cost me a load of money and much angst so your not alone.

SBO 2004 and ActiveX

I heard, that SBO 2004 now supports ActiveX at the UI API. Where can I find an ActiveX sample ? We want to use ActiveX forms, instead of only a control, by this way we will want to be able to use .Net components directly via a WinForm as ActiveX form in a SBO UI form.
I have also read about .Net connectors. Are they available in SBO 2004 ?

1) What is IDOC?
IDoc means intermediate document is a standard data structure for electronic data interchange (EDI) between application programs written for the popular SAP business system or between an SAP application and an external program. IDocs serve as the vehicle for data transfer in SAP's Application Link Enabling (ALE) system.
2) Why its is used with SAP?
IDocs are used for asynchronous transactions: each IDoc generated exists as a self-contained text file that can then be transmitted to the requesting workstation without connecting to the central database. Another SAP mechanism, the Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI) is used for synchronous transactions.
3) What its advantages & disadvantages?
a) IDOC - Advantages :
The target system need not be always online. The IDOC would be created and would send the IDOC once the target
system is available.
No additional programming required. Configuration is the only one need to be set up.
b) IDOC - Disadvantages :
Receipt/Processing on the target system need not be immediate
When no standard IDOC is available, then it is very hard to create a custom IDOC when compared to creating a
standard BAPI
Unless ALE is used, it is difficult to trace if the IDOC has actually reached the target system
4) IDOC flow with MM :
In order to make use of the workflow for IDoc processing, you do not have to go through the cumbersome
workflow design procedure as it is described in the workflow documentation. For the mentioned purpose, you can
register the workflow handler from the menu, which says Event Coupling from the BALD transaction.
Triggering the IDoc from a workflow event has a disadvantage: if the IDoc has to be repeated for some reason, the
event cannot be repeated easily. This is due to the nature of a workflow event, which is triggered usually from a
precedent action.

Any SAP R/3 implementation is a big effort which is done by a team of experts from different backgrounds, not by an individual. So if you are going to be on a project as technical person, in all probability you will join the team as a member of the technical team during the implementation phase. By this time, the blueprint and design phases would have been almost complete and some standards and procedures with regards to documentation, coding, transports and migration accross systems will have been established.
A team lead will brief you all the requirements of the project as far as documentation standards are concerned and migration of the objects, testing procedures etc. You don't have to worry about that. This will be specific to the project, so you cannot generalize it and apply it to every project.
Now the difference between a new implementation and support is that the first one is new one which goes through the phases of blueprinting, design, implementation, testing and go-live. The support phase comes after go-live. You will just be supporting the production system, in that you will be fixing any bugs in the existing programs or change some existing programs to add some more logic or remove some logic, or write new reports or programs as per the users' request.

Heard too, that B1 2004 supports ActiveX using B1 UI forms. How to use ActiveX component on a form ? Is it possible to host an ActiveX form on a B1 UI form ?
The idea is, the component palatte from B1 is not that rich and the UI components (for example Matrix) are not that smart. We want to make an ActiveX form and place the whole ActiveX form on the UI form of B1. By this way, we still using B1 forms with their layout and keeping the MDI child order, instead of using a normal WinForm, which will be hidden from the B1 client, when activating it and loosing the Z-order of the MDI.

I need to set up an expense form so that our consultant can "filter" by customer type, program type, and finally the purpose of the trip. For instance: the customer types are churches, schools, organizations. The program type would be dependent on the customer type selection from the first list. Some examples would be: fund raising, gift planning, surveys, and others. The purpose of the trip would be dependent on the program type selected from the second list. Some examples of trip purposes would be: presentation, design, prospecting. Further, the purpose of trip selection from the third drop-down box would then have to determine the values of other fields by expense type: such as commission, airfare, hotel. etc. I've tried pop-up menu but can't figure out how to "select" from the final popup list and have it populate a field for the purpose of the trip. I've tried to look at the JavaScript examples for dependent drop-down boxes, but can't find any that quite fit what I'm trying to accomplish. I am very new to all of this. No training in writing Javascripts - just trying to wing it. The form has to be very simple for our consultants to use, but also give our office the detail we need to process through the correct account numbers. I would appreciate any detailed step-by-step instructions - kind of a javascript for dummies type of info. HELP!

An AcroForm is the name given to the type of PDF form that you create in Acrobat. An XFA form is the type of form that you create in LiveCycle Designer. Although they are both PDF files, they are very different structurally and have significant;y different scripting models. So pay attention to the information on AcroForms and ignore anything about XFA. Be sure to get the sample PDF forms so you can look at how it works and where the scripts are placed.
What you want to do will require scripting, and if you don't have the experience and are unable to use the information in the tutorials to create what you want, you might consider getting someone who has experience do this for you. I'll often suggest code if I can do so quickly, but what you want requires more than a few minutes.

Abort System Error in Program SAPLRRV and for RRSV_CHAVL_TO_VALUE_CONVERT

While refreshing a query in a Workbook, I have received this error message and getting disconnecting form the BW server.
"Abort System Error in Program SAPLRRV and for RRSV_CHAVL_TO_VALUE_CONVERT"
Does anyone has any idea? It is happening in Production and need to fix it as soon as possible.
Appreciate any help and points will be assigned for useful information.

It is also not possible to use an optional parameter variable to fill
an interval selection in either the from-field or the to-field.

This has been a problem for 6 weeks now, I retry when I have time and patience and use my other laptop which is also Windows 7 and runs with no problem.
Every attempt fails when all seems fine on the desktop and I try to log on to Itunes I get the errors.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features(Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (If this won't uninstall press on)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

Original media and documentation

Hello,
I just purchased an iMac PowerPC G3 333 MHz CRT model from a friend (by the way, I'm new to Mac). I've always wanted to migrate to a Mac and thought It would be better to start slow before purchasing something bigger. The computer came installed with a lot of programs that I don't think I need. I would really prefer to wipe the drive and perfrom a fresh reload. Unfortunately he could not find the media or any other documenation that came with the iMac. Can anybody guide me to where I may be able to purchase the original media and documentation that came with this model? Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I've run 10.4.3 on a 400MHz iMac G3/466MHz iBook fine but never actually tried Panther on anything other than the Powerbook listed in my specs below.
I'll give you the details of the upgrades and you can see how you feel.

Hard Disk. The iMac G3 uses a standard 3.5" Desktop IDE/ATA (Not Serial ATA!) drive available from any PC shop. You should go for a 7,200rpm model as these are faster than the stock drives.
You'll find a guide to replacing the drive here.
RAM. There are three slots in the iMac G3 (Tray-loading).
2 x 144pin SDRAM SODIMM RAM slots and 1 x SGRAM VRAM slot for expanding the VRAM from the base 2MB.
Here are the fitting instructions (link).
The height of the SODIMM can vary up to 1.5 or 2.0 inches (depending on whether its the upper or lower slot). This dimension (unlike length and width) does not need to be exact as long as it is within the bound details in this document (link)
The iMac G3 (Tray-loading) technically takes PC66 RAM but PC100 or some PC133 should down-speed to match the iMac's memory bus speed.

Diagnosis
This internal error is an intended termination resulting from a program state that is not permitted.
Procedure
Analyze the situation and inform SAP.
If the termination occurred when you executed a query or Web template, or during interaction in the planning modeler, and if you can reproduce this termination, record a trace (transaction RSTT).

One of our planning sequence is failing in production with similar error. Could you please let us know what is the fix for the issue you faced.
