Program Running from Long Time

Hi Friends,
There is a program running from long time. Can anybody let me know how can i analyse this program other than SM50, SM51, SM66. Its a CRM Program.....there are no logs.......
Points will be rewarded....
Thanks,
Nagesh.

Hi,
I will suggest you to check a few places where you can see the status
1) SM37 job log. If its active make sure that the job log is getting updated at frequent intervals.
2) Get the job details (server name PID etc from SM37) and see in SM66 if the job is running or not. See if its accessing/updating some tables or is not doing anything at all.
If its running and if you are able to see it active in SM66 you can wait for some time to let it finish.
3) You can also try SM50 / SM51 to see what is happening in the system level like reading/inserting tables etc.
If you feel its active and running you can verify by checking if the number of records getting updated/ inserted /deleted in table level.
You can take the help of Basis/DB2 to find out what is actually happening in the background.
This is the best way to identify of something is happening in the database level.
Thanks,
JituK

    Hi,
As sunny explained.. there is lot of factors involved in Client copy.
    1) Database Size
    2) Tables
    3) System Resources
You can exclude the tables in client copy if you really dont need the data of tha particular tables while scheduling the client copy.
any way we could see that  No. of Tables (Total) 55537 of 55852 copied.. it's almost done 300+ tables are there to copy.

  • Upgrade running from long time on IBM iSeries DB2 platform

    Hi Team
We are upgrading SAP ECC 6.0 from SAP 4.6c In Task Progress, Adjust Name table - activity which is running from last 8 hours.
Actually this job should complete in half hour. But this job is running from 8 hours. Our Production system is down from 20 hours.
    Thanks
    Raju Sale

    Hi Raju,
First of all check logs for any error.
Second it depends upon how much you have optimized different parameter  like number of R3trans process, db_Cache_size, RAM etc..
    Thanks
    Sunny

  • ABAP process job ( BI_PROCESS_ABAP ) in process chain running for long time

    Dear Experts,
We have an ABAP process job  BI_PROCESS_ABAP  in a process chain. This job is running for a very long time than previous run time.
Recently we had an ORACLE database upgrade from 9.2 to 10g.
From the very next day , we are having this problem.
And also previously this process-chain was under control of BASIS guys . they were using a tool called CRONACLE to schedule it. At the time of upgrade this tool was crashed and they asked us to schedule it in BW system instead.
Underlying program is using two custom tables.
one is having both primary & secondary indexes but the other table is having only primary index.
I am not sure whether we have secondary indexes on other table prior to upgrade or not.
    Where must be the problem?...
At the time of upgrade BASIS has re-organized the table space along with database upgrade.
    please help me...
    Regards,
    SRIKANTH

Please ask yr basis consultant to check the system parms.
Below i have listed down SAP recommneded system parms .
    abap/heap_area_total 4000000000
    abap/heap_area_dia 2000000000
    abap/heap_area_nondia 2000000000
Also check in SM37 if any other jobs are running for long time, peventing the your job running.
Check the SM12 for locks or SM58

  • Background Jobs running for long time.

    Dear All,
I had done the Homogeneous System Copy on my ECC 6 QA System successfully by restoring the offline backup of Production system. My system is up & running but  I have some Performace issues in the system. I also observed that some jobs are running since long time & most commonly i got the below line in the BGD Trace "WP has reached abap/heaplimit = 40000000 bytes".
I search for the notes but couldn't find anything.
Please help me to resolve this issue.

    Thanks,

    Hi Shambo
have you checked the oracle parameters as per the sap note 830576,and also the backup which you have taken is a logical backup,in that case you have to run the update database statistics either from DB13 or BRTOOLS
also check ST04 and also ST02 to do a  performance tuning
I believe its more Database Parameter issue

  • Hi, i m not getting updates in app store from long time...

Hi, i m not getting updates in app store from long time...

    Hey harjit lal,
Are you able to connect to the iTunes Store to update your apps? If you're unable to connect to the Store and that's what is holding it up, then I would run through the troubleshooting in here:
Can't connect to the iTunes Store
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1368
Another solution might be that your applications are automatically updating in the background after upgrading to iOS 7.
Turn off automatic downloads. Tap Apps in Automatic Downloads. Apps update automatically over Wi-Fi, unless you turn off the option.

  • Calc scripts running very Long time

    Hi All,
Recently, i am migrated the objects from Production to Test region. We have 5 applications and each of the application has a set of calc scripts.
In test region, they are running really long time. Where as in Production, they run for less time.
In TEST region each Calc script is taking 10 times more time than the Production times.
No Dimension added or no script is updated. No difference in objects between TEST and PROD.
Please suggest me, why is this difference.
    Thanks
    Mahesh

The obvious first question would be if the hardware is different. You would expect prod to be a more powerful server and therefore perform better.I'm seeing a lot of virtualized test servers (who knows, really, what power the box has) and real prod servers. That can make a huge difference in performance.
It makes benchmarking tough -- yes, you can see how long something will take relative to another process, but there isn't any way to know how it will perform in production until you sneak it over there and benchmark it. It can be a real PITA for Planning.
And yes, the theory is that dev and prod are similar so that the above isn't an issue, but that seems to be a more theoretical than actual kind of thing.

  • Report running for long time & performance tuning

    Hi All,
(1). WebI report is running for long time.so what are the steps i need to check for it ?
(2). Can you tell me about performance tuning in BO ?
    please help me.....
    Thanks
    Kumar

(1). WebI report is running for long time.so what are the steps i need to check for it ?
The first step is to see if the problem lies in the query on the data source or in webi itself. Depending on the data source there are different ways to extract the query and try to run it against the database. Which source does your report uses?
(2). Can you tell me about performance tuning in BO ?
I would recommend to start by reading the administrator's guide. There is a section about how to improve performance.

Thanks for replying Reega, here is the required
    info:
    SQL> select p1text, p1, p2text, p2, p3text, p3 from
    v$session where sid=1026;

    2
    P3TEXT
    3
    file#
    block#
    16937
    blocks
    6
Actually Reega had a good point, not sure why he didn't go down the route.
You may want to find out what's that table/index your session is waiting from the value, something like
    select   owner||'.'||segment_name,  segment_type
    from dba_extents
where file_id=4 and (block_id between 116937 and 116937+66)This might be a long run query if you have many objects.
Actually the better view to query is v$session_wait instead of v$session.
Check article you might find useful,
    Oracle wait tuning with v$session_wait

  • To fetch data on the basis of last program run date and time

    Hi all,
    My query is as folows:
I am selecting BOM components from STPO table on the basis of some criteria.
My requirement is to select only BOM components which are newly added or created after last program run,i.e. STPO-AEDAT and STPO-ANDAT are greater than last program run. Here i fetched last program date from customised structure(client specific) which has date field also, and compared with aedat and andat in STPO records. But how can I connect it with last run time as there is no such time field in STPO table.I need to fetch this data on the basis of last program run(time+date).
    Please help me..it's crucial,
    Thanks in advance,
    Meena

    Hi,
We had a very similar requirement.
We developed a custom-solution for this.
Create a Z-Table and update it with your progname, date and time.
Whenever the BOM was changed, it generated a change number ( this has to be done by the user)
You can get the date and time from the change Number Table AENR and compare it with the timestamp in Z-TABLE
    Hope it helps,
    RJ

  • Help!!! Purchasing setup run takes long time

    Hi Experts,
I'm pulling purchasing data into BI from R/3. I'm having a problem where the setup run takes an extremely long time. we have approximately 3 years of data on R/3. when i look at EKBE table, there are clost to 5 Million records.
Basically when i run the scedule it took atleast 3 weeks and still did not complete. even when i run it only for 2008 it took 6 days but still didnt complete. so today i ran it for one month (Jan 2008) and its been running for the last 3 hours without completing.
has anybody come up with an issue like this?
I'm not sure if there is something wrong with the setup run as in im wondering if the job is hanging or something? is there anyway to figure this out?
I'm stuck with this at the moment, ive looked around but to no avail.
would really appreciate you're help as deadlines on this are looming.
    thanks,
    dilanke
    Points will be rewarded.

    Hi,
5 million purchasing records should take max 6 hour and it seems that you have a problem with problem which is filling setup table.Did you check OSS notes? There should be something pointing this isssue.
You can run NPRT transaction in order to see  how long it took in the previous jobs.
