Local client copy running from long time

Hi Experts,
The local client copy is running from very long time at the phase "Post Processing"(since 14 hrs).

Could some body help me , generally how much time it will take to complete this phase,
and really if some thing is going wrong could you please where to check why its taking this much time.

Hi,
As sunny explained.. there is lot of factors involved in Client copy.
1) Database Size
2) Tables
3) System Resources
You can exclude the tables in client copy if you really dont need the data of tha particular tables while scheduling the client copy.
any way we could see that  No. of Tables (Total) 55537 of 55852 copied.. it's almost done 300+ tables are there to copy.

  • Program Running from Long Time

    Hi Friends,
There is a program running from long time. Can anybody let me know how can i analyse this program other than SM50, SM51, SM66. Its a CRM Program.....there are no logs.......
    Points will be rewarded....
    Thanks,
    Nagesh.

    Hi,
I will suggest you to check a few places where you can see the status
    1) SM37 job log. If its active make sure that the job log is getting updated at frequent intervals.
    2) Get the job details (server name PID etc from SM37) and see in SM66 if the job is running or not. See if its accessing/updating some tables or is not doing anything at all.
If its running and if you are able to see it active in SM66 you can wait for some time to let it finish.
    3) You can also try SM50 / SM51 to see what is happening in the system level like reading/inserting tables etc.
If you feel its active and running you can verify by checking if the number of records getting updated/ inserted /deleted in table level.
You can take the help of Basis/DB2 to find out what is actually happening in the background.
This is the best way to identify of something is happening in the database level.
    Thanks,
    JituK

  • Local Client Copy taking too much time

    Hi All,
I recently done a system refresh of my Quality server (restore PRD backup to QUA Server)
After that I have created a new client and has initiated a local client copy after the test run
    went successful.
Then after reading approximately 4500 table it has got stuck and I saw in SM50 that table "ACCTCR"
was running since approximately 56000 seconds.
Then I run the program 'BTCTRNS1" to clean the work processes.
After that I again restarted the local client copy in restart mode.
Now since last 3 hours I can see in SM50 that table u201CACCTCR" is being sequentially ready for approx 500(under Actions) seconds and then delete for 15 seconds (under actions).
I also found that table size is also not increasing as well as same table is being sequentially read for 500 sec and then deleted for 15 seconds (under Actions in sm50) and program is also same.
This is happening since last 3 hours now.
Under SCC3 I can see the status as processing reset.
Does anyone face this issue ever? And can anyone suggest is everything is running OK or there is
    some problem.
Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    PG

    Hello,
Did you recalculate full DB statistics after the last system copy from PRD to QA ?
This is very often forgotten, leading to long elapse times in select statements.
Check via DB20 on table ACCTCR from when latest DB statistics date.
Eventually rebuild all indexes from ACCTCR, this can be done online via ABAP RSANAORA if you are running Oracle.
You can also perform an SQL trace on the current running process to see if the select from the client copy is running correctly.
I also know that ACCTCR is a table containing transactional data and most of the time it contains a lot of data.
II suppose you are running a client copy with profile SAP_ALL on QA based on a copy of PRD ?
This means that you will end up with 2 production clients in QA ?
Is your QA system sized for this ?
Another question that you can ask your client, is data from ACCTCR really needed on QA on both clients.
If not it is maybe better to start an archiving based on SAP Note :
Note 83076 - MM_ACCTIT: Archiving programs for ACCTIT, ACCTHD, ACCTCR
Followed by a new client copy.
    Success.

  • Upgrade running from long time on IBM iSeries DB2 platform

    Hi Team
We are upgrading SAP ECC 6.0 from SAP 4.6c In Task Progress, Adjust Name table - activity which is running from last 8 hours.
Actually this job should complete in half hour. But this job is running from 8 hours. Our Production system is down from 20 hours.
    Thanks
    Raju Sale

    Hi Raju,
First of all check logs for any error.
Second it depends upon how much you have optimized different parameter  like number of R3trans process, db_Cache_size, RAM etc..
    Thanks
    Sunny

unable to import or copy photos from a time machine back up saved from snow leopard into iPhoto now running on lion

The correct method of restoring photos from Time Machine is to restore the entire library.
The way that TM backs up files makes nearly impossible to go into the backup via the Finder and recover individual files. So you will have to restore a library that contains the photos you need being sure to select the option to keep both versions.
Then open the restored library and export those photos you need.  Open your original library and import those photos.  After that you can delete the recently restored library.

  • Background Jobs running for long time.

    Dear All,
I had done the Homogeneous System Copy on my ECC 6 QA System successfully by restoring the offline backup of Production system. My system is up & running but  I have some Performace issues in the system. I also observed that some jobs are running since long time & most commonly i got the below line in the BGD Trace "WP has reached abap/heaplimit = 40000000 bytes".
I search for the notes but couldn't find anything.
Please help me to resolve this issue.

    Thanks,
    Shambo

    Hi Shambo
have you checked the oracle parameters as per the sap note 830576,and also the backup which you have taken is a logical backup,in that case you have to run the update database statistics either from DB13 or BRTOOLS
also check ST04 and also ST02 to do a  performance tuning
I believe its more Database Parameter issue

  • Extremely slow during Local client copy

    Hi guru's,
We have planed for the local client copy in our system.Normally it would n't take much time(generally it will finished between 8 to 9 hr max), but this  time it took 4 days still it's running.
how to know why it took so long to complete?
    thanks in advance
    best regards
    venkat.

    Dear,
    Venkat.
Can i know your SAP Version ,OS,database. &  size of the database.
If you want to improve the performance.you have to exclude the data
Improving client copy performance: Excluding data
You can improve the performance of the client copy by, for example, by excluding tables or packages.
You can exclude tables from the client copy, for example if they are not relevant for the target client, in the Tables tab. For further information about excluding tables from the client copy, choose the Help button in the expert settings.
For further information about expert settings in the client copy, see the SAP note 446485.
by this your client copy performance can be increased.
    Warm Regards.

    Hi,
We encounter the same problem with different A***-tables. The problem is that these seem to be pooled tables. I had a look at sap note 1248769 and it mentions that the reconstruct-option is only liable for transparent tables. This seems to be right, as the option "Reconstruct" is greyed out in tx SE14 when we try to.
    Any other options?
    Jan
PS. Sorry for hijacking the thread, but it seems the topic starter is still looking for an answer as well
Edit: Found another SAP Note which seems relevant: 1171306. This note has the following segment in it:
If you still want to remove the inconsistency, you can proceed as described in the following.  However, the table must be empty for you to be able to do this (you can check this with the report NROWS:  start the report NROWS, enter DVPOOLTEXT for "Table 1" on the selection screen and choose Execute.)
    1. Call transaction SE14.
    2. Edit DVPOOLTEXT.
    3. Delete the database table.
    4. Create a database table.
If the pool is not empty and the data is required, it must be unloaded in advance and then read again after you have recreated the table.
Ofcourse we would like to preserve our data in the tables. Let's take a look at an example in our system: Table A017. This table has encountered the DDIC error during client copy. We have performed the following analysis actions on it:
Report NROWS mentions 116.390 entries for table A017.
    In SE16 table A017 has 0 entries.
In SE14 I have performed two checks: The runtime object seems ok. When I check database object in SE14 the system returns the following message: "Table is not created in database".
    Any tips?

Please help ASAP, as this is effecting our testing team.  I have tried to copy individual tables also using a transport request number and SCC1 to copy it to the target client.  This is also taking quite a long time.
    Thanks in advance,
    Abdul

    Hi Abdul,
What does your system log say ?
    Check this SAP Note
Note 579783 - CC ERROR: Loss of data - table not copied
run the report RSCC_VERIFY to check if the table is consistent within the source client.
SAP will only provide support for RSCC_VERIFY messages if there is a specific problem in an application in the target client that can be assigned immediately to the messages.
RSCC_VERIFY is delivered with SAPKB46B49, SAPKB46C35 and SAPKB46D24. In older releases, you can create the report in the ABAP editor (transaction SE38) in accordance with the attached advance correction. Use the development class or the STRM package for this.

  • Local client copy TCODE SCCL

    Hi BASIS Gurus,
Please help me troubleshooting my local client copy. Below are my concerns.
    Summary:
    1. Client copy is running in background.
    2. DB size is 250GB.
    3. Oracle 9
    4. Windows 2003
    Concerns:
    1. Ran in source: client, SM50 shows sequential read from table COEP, after sequential action became delete. My worry is instead of action delete it should be insert right?
    2. Copy is still on COEP table after 4hours. Is this normal?
    3. I cant logon anymore to target client because it already copied the sap* of the source. I tried to delete the sap* table USR02 from target client and still no luck, user sap* is still locked. any sugestions?
    4. I've been running the background client copy for almost 14hours. is there away to add parallel processes to speed up client copy?
    Thanks in advance.
    best regards,
    Joel

    Hi,
    1. Ran in source: client, SM50 shows sequential read from table COEP, after sequential action became delete. My worry is instead of action delete it should be insert right?
It should be delete as client copy will delete existing data before copying
    2. Copy is still on COEP table after 4hours. Is this normal?
This purely depends upon size of table and your system performance
    3. I cant logon anymore to target client because it already copied the sap* of the source. I tried to delete the sap* table USR02 from target client and still no luck, user sap* is still locked. any sugestions?
It should work , eventhough you can try using any other user of source system , may be missing missing something ..But logon should work with SAP* , if its not avilabe in database (make sure you have deleted SAP* from target client )
    4. I've been running the background client copy for almost 14hours. is there away to add parallel processes to speed up client copy?
Now you can not add parallel processing , one thing you can do is run update statistics that helped me lot of time  to speed up processing.
    Regards,

Then I go to SE14 then put the name of the tables then click CHECK >> DATABASE OBJECT and then as the result I get:
"Table is not created in the database"
If I go down to the database level and look within the Oracle database dba_tables the tables and objects exists within the database but SAP is unable to recognize them.  All objects were imported with a Oracle Data Pump dump file and now I just need help in getting SAP to recognize the tables.

    Hi,
Its showing inconsistency between ABAP Dictionary and the database.
Have you run Test-Run before performing actual client copy ?
Please check the Consistency of affected Tables.
    SE11 -> Display Table -> Utilities -> Database Object -> Check
(check DB Object as well as Run time Object)
Please refer this [SAP Note 686357 - Table pool length incorrect after Unicode conversion|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/686357] to get more information. The relevant solution is mentioned there if the pool tables having inconsistency with VARDATA field.
Also refer SAP Note 1171306 - Error with pooled tables when copying a client.

and when i checkd in system log in sm21 it is showing
he transaction has been terminated.  This may be caused by a
ermination message from the application (MESSAGE Axxx) or by an
rror detected by the SAP System due to which it makes no sense to
roceed with the transaction.  The actual reason for the termination
s indicated by the T100 message and the parameters.
    plz......any one can help me
    cheers
