Program to open file in remote machine

Hi,
i want to write a program in which i can access a file in another system.
But the catch here is that the other system is using password to login to the system.
How i can provide password through my Java Program to access to other machine
~Aman

Can you just send me the code how to read file from Shared folder/drive through java program?
e.g ="\\mcno-pc180\shared\HelloWorld.txt". I am able to access file HelloWorld.txt from my machine which is placed in shared folder path "\\mcno-pc180\shared\".
Regards
SPulluri
Share the folder/drive which you want to access on the remote machine then your application can access it.
Try to use the user which has already rights of reading/writing to that machine then the security dialog will not appear.

  • How to read file from remote machine

    Hello,
    Hi, i would like to know how to read text file from remote machine using java source code, any code ?
    Thanks very much;

    On the server, perform the following steps:
    Parse the request and determine the file to serve
    Open a FileInputStream to the appropriate file
    Obtain a reference to the Servlet OutputStream
    Pipe the bytes from the file to the output stream
    Flush and close the streamYou might want to call HttpServletResponse.setContentType("application/octet") to indicate to the browser that a file download will be occurring. Do so before getting the reference to the Servlet's OutputStream.

  • In Bridge I cannot find Lightroom as a program to open files. All the other programs like photoshop etc are indicated?

    In Bridge I cannot find Lightroom as a program to open files. All the other programs like photoshop etc are indicated?

    You would go into Preferences > File Type Associations and from the dropdown menu and choose "Browse" to get to Lightroom.
    So yes you can set files that Lightroom supports to open from Bridge into Lightroom.
    But I don't think you'd want to.
    Lightroom is a standalone product for a Photography workflow. Bridge is a manager for Creative suite products like Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign. Basically web and print design workflows.
    Bridge is not a manager for Lr because Lr has it's own catalog system.
    Lightroom is not a Creative Suite product.
    Bridge does use Adobe Camera Raw to make adjustments, but move those adjusted files into Lr, you have to make a decision whose settings stay.
    This video should explain the difference.

  • How to change to PS CS6 is not default program to open files.

    I have PSCS4 and trial PSCS6. All my RAW and PSD files open by CS6 by default now. I want PS CS4 open PSD and RAW by default, as it used to, since CS6 is only trial.
    I have Mac Pro, OS X 10.7.4. (Lion)
    I tried to change it this way:
    File - Get info- Open with- change to CS4 - change all (use this application to open all documents like this one). It won't allow me, falls back to PS CS6.
    I can open files by right clicking and chose PSCS4, (indicated as Adobe Photoshop CS4.app (11.0.2(11.0.2x20100519 [20100519.r.592 2010/05/19:02:00:00:00 cutoff; r branch]))
    That arm long name for CS4 appeared after I installed CS6.
    Is there any way to do this on Mac? I cannot find anyplace file and program associations.
    Thanks for help,
    Rose

    Thank you, Dean,
    I tried the RCDefaultApp. It looks great and there is so much what can be changed, from the file extentions ends, program defaults and file types. I guess it works great. ... for other apps.
    But:
    Adobe PS CS6 keeps all files and extentions assigned and grayed out, unaccessible to change or uncheck.
    Therefore when extentions are assigned as default to anoter program or app, nothing happens. It won't allow to chose another program to open it under files tab too.
    It all falls back where it was before, same like with get info panel.
    PS CS6 is grabby program. PS CS4 Bridge now opens CS6 Photoshop, automatically, unless you tell it not to, chose right click CS4, which is pain in the neck, and will be even bigger after the trial expires. I may buy CS6, but not within a month. The period between is going to be troublesome, and making me not want to see CS6 at all, ever. I just hope after I uninstall it it will all fall back to CS4 defaults.
    Thabnks again for your reply.

  • How to set default program to open file types

    What I am wanting to do is be able to open music saved in Apple Lossless format in other than iTunes, say in maybe Quicktime. I have most of my music in this format and want to keep them that way so when I want to add an album to iTunes it's already in lossless format. But as it is now with iTunes as the default, anytime I even play one song it is imported into iTunes and I have to go back and delete it.
    I am sure there is a way to make the default program for .m4a files not iTunes?

    If you are just previewing music files you can also click on the song and hit your SpaceBar on the keyboard to listen to the song.

  • Setting default program to open files

    Ok, I can not find it again. Where do I go to change the program default to open files?

    No problem. I figured that since learning mac and that Ctrl is not usually the key player. That is a problem we are both having too. PC at work.
    Going to get a full size keyboard, do not know if that might help some besides we really use the keypad.

  • Is it possible to choose the program that opens files I've downloaded?

    I just got a mac and therefore started using safari so I'm definitely not accustomed to it yet...when I download word documents from my profs at school, and I click on them after they've downloaded to open them, it opens with TextEdit. I don't like TextEdit and want to know if I can change that so when I click to open them, they open with Pages. TextEdit doesn't always show the exact same content as Pages, as I just found out today when I printed out some homework but was missing half a page since TextEdit didn't show it. Thanks!

    Greetings,
    Yes, you can specify the program used to open files you download, as long as it's capable of doing it. In the case of using Pages for Word documents, Pages has to convert the document first, and that won't always give you all the formatting that was in the original Word file. All you have to do is select the file, press Command-I to Get Info, then click on the disclosure triangle next to the "Open with:" section and choose the program you want to use to open it. You also have the option to make that change apply to all such documents, including those on your Mac already.
    Then close the Get Info panel and you're done.

  • How do I get the browser to allow Office programs to open files?

    I have created a .JSP/servlet index of documents on a server. Basically, the JSP displays a list of all the documents in a directory with a summary of each and a link out to the right...like this:
    <b>reference document<b> open
    Word documents and PDF files open fine b/c they open in the new browser window, however, most other documents such as .XLS, .ZIP, and .PPT all return gibberish to the browser window. Obviously, I would prefer that the browser allow the associated program on the user's PC to open the file but I have no idea how to do that effectively...especially since I am dealing with a variety of filetypes??
    Can someone tell me what the best way would be to manage this problem given that it could be any number of file types??
    any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Chuck

    I have gotten closer...I can get the application to open with the below code using response.setHeader() as follows but the file is not opened:
    <%
    String filename = request.getParameter("filename");
    out.print(filename);
    String format = ".PPT";
    if ((format != null) && (format.equals(".PPT"))) {
    response.setHeader("Content-Type","application/ms-powerpoint");
    response.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment;");
    response.setHeader("Content-Disposition", "filename=".concat("test.ppt"));
    %>
    So, I am close...I was hoping someone could explain how to get the file to open in the application...right now all that happens is the app. opens but no content is diplayed.
    Do I also have to do something like FileOutputStream with the file? can somebody possibly provide an example?
    thanks again,
    Chuck

  • Using a LabVIEW application as default program for opening files

    Google has returned nothing useful on this.  I want to use a built LabVIEW application to open data files from the Windows desktop. It is easy to edit the Windows registry to set the application as default program - but I'm not sure how to set the event in LabVIEW to open the file.  Any suggested reading?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    I have done this before...I have a small LabVIEW .exe which looks at the version of a VI and selects the appropriate version of LabVIEW to open it with if available. It also adds explorer context menu items for allowing you pick a specific version of LabVIEW to open the file with.
    This is a rough idea of the registry keys for adding a program to handle specific file types and to add items to the shell menu in the installer:
    Add your own 'LabVIEWOpenWithVersion' key and then add the key name to the OpenWithProgids for the file extensions you want to be able to open with your application. The command part looks like this:
    Look at the Windows/MSDN help for what the different keys mean and how they are used, I think you can also set a key to make one of your handlers (e.g. Open, openWithLV) the default for the file type.
    For getting the file that was opened 'with' your application, use the App.Args property, ignoring the first item (which is always LabVIEW) in the array.

  • Please Help! How do i make MS OFFICE the default programs for opening files

    Hey,
    Someone please tell me how to make MS OFFICE the default for opening up excel, word and pp files....Ever since i migrated all my stuff to my new 24in everything opens up in iwork instead of office, which is really annoying.
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi skymedic: Quite easy to set the default program actually. Find a file you need to open, single click. then Right Click and select "Get Info". When this window opens, select the program to be used then click "Change All'. Please note you will need to do this for all file types you want to open with Office. EG: .DOC .PPS .PPT .XLS etc..
    Good Luck

  • Possible to open File() in remote

    I'm developing a FTP tool with drag and drop feature. to display the local system files i used File root=new File("C:\\"). But in the case of remote system i can't use File() to display the files in JTree. I want to know how to achieve this. There is any API to achieve this. Please help me.

    There is any API to achieve this. Not in the core API. There are third party solutions though. Google for java ftp library.

  • [Gnome 3.6, Nautilus] Can't open files on remote servers

    Since the upgrade to Gnome 3.6, I can't open most files on SSH and SMB shares mounted through Nautilus using the "Connect to Server" dialog. Opening PDF files in Evince still works, as does opening image files in EOG. But opening movie files in Totem, for instance, fails: Totem closes instantly. Other file types result in more or less cryptic error messages by the associated application. Opening a LyX document, for example, gives me this:
    The directory in the given path
    /run/user/1000/gvfs/sftp:host=192.168.2.102/[...]
    does not exist.
    Which looks like gvfs is not working like it used to. If I use sshfs (FUSE) to mount the share, everything works fine.
    [Edit: It's not just SSH servers that are affected as I initially thought. Changed title and body to reflect this.]

    I've known this problem for a long time. In pre-3.6 times it would suffice to kill gvfs-fuse-daemon and start it again. Now there appears to be no gvfs-fuse-daemon anymore.
