I want to pre-login my users to all their external apps. How
can I programmatically do so?

Under the Customize option of the External Application box, user can change their password for the ext. app.

Hi,
Sounds like your OBIEE apps needs to be able to get the role from the session (I assume database session), which means OBIEE needs to be able to get the same session from the external app. Does the external app set a cookie or something that would identify the session? If so use that cookie in OBIEE to get the session? More than likely need more details of the architecture of you external application!

How to let add external apps for simple users? Simple users don't have login server administer rights, so how can they add external apps for their use?

Auto Login to External Applications

Under Portal Administer tab -> Login Server Administration -> Administer
External Application -> Added External Application, I followed the example to
add an external application with "Apllication Name", "Login URL", "User Nmae/ID
Field Name", "Password Field Name" and selected "Authentication Method".
Although I have let Portal to remember my username and password on the first
time accessing the external apps, I still have to re-type my username and
password again for that web external apps. It seems that the username and
password are not passed by Portal to the external apps, although it works with Yahoo. Should it work with every external apps?

Under additional fields you also need to specify ok=Login. (This parameter is passed when the user clicks the the login button.) Peter

Each BOE document has a unique ID. Knowing that will allow you to access it via a URL while passing required login credentials as well, if I recall correctly. However, your very best bet is to review the SDK.

Getting External Apps to show up inside the Portal

Configure for Programmatic Login Permission

I have a deployed war file that I want to use programmatic login permissions. I try setting the:
grant codeBase "file:jar_file_path" {
permission com.sun.appserv.security.ProgrammaticLoginPermission

but I have been unable to guess the correct jar_file_path. The location of the "exploded war file is in server1/web_*.
The url that will do my login is a jsp in the web directory.

The application jar file path is the location where deployed application resides.

URL Provider supplies cookies to External App only once

Fellow PDK'ers,
I am using the URL provider to display a page from an external application (that is, using <authentication>ExternalApp</authentication>).
I am able to display the portlet once -- that is, the portal contacts the provider, the provider uses the portal's "External Application" information to build a URL and call the login page, the login page returns a cookie, the provider sends the cookie back when doing the showPage.
However, the provider never provides that cookie again, whether I refresh the portal page or change to another page and come back. This means that the external app loses the user's session, and presents a login screen in the portlet. Not good!
The PDK article "An Overview of Password Authenticated Applications" says: "Any cookies that are returned in response to the authentication request are saved and sent back to the remote application with all subsequent requests." This is not the behavior I'm seeing.
And by the way, where do I find the documentation on "Shared sessions"? I can't seem to turn it up anywhere.

Hey, my blakberry will not let me login to blackberry app world. I put my email and password in, it say authenticating for like 4 seconds, then says "An Error has occured. Please try again later." Well I did try again later and it still is not working. Please help me.

i have set up my paypal, deleted the app world and downloaded it again.
rebooted my phone and still it does not want to log me on.

Now when I go to App store on my iPad it still tries to login to the App store using the old email address I had associated with the account, and naturally my password doesn't work. I can't figure out how to tell my iPad to login using the updated email address.
So in effect I'm locked out of the app store and I currently have 26 updates waiting.
I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting my IPad to iCloud with no luck.. However I cloud happens to show the correct/updated email address.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Did you change the email for the Apple ID or did you create a new Apple ID? A new Apple ID cannot be used with content that was bought using a different Apple ID.

How to capture keyboard strokes while focus is on an external app. Opened with system exec

Hi to the Forum,
I have an application that runs an external app. Through system exec, while this application is open the user needs to input a 6 digit serial number using the keyboard, I need to capture in parallel that information on my main VI in order to perform some information validations, such as the six digits were entered, the serial number is not repeated etc. I have read other post about the same issue but did not found a practical way to achieve a solution, please help with an example of how to do that as I'm on the final stage of the project.

I can't login to the App Store - connection failed...

yesterday I had totally forgot my password and security question & went through 'Apple Express Lane' in getting assistance to reset my password for my ID "[email protected]" account so I can update to Lion OSX & merge my MobileMe account to iCloud through the 'App Store'
the password was reset and was able to login to the App Store with new password and download OSX Lion.
I have now successfully installed OSX Lion and have completed all the updates up to OSX Lion 10.7.3
after the updates, I wanted to purchase some games through the App Store and tried to login, but I get a message in red
'Connection Failed'
I tried to find answers and post a topic in 'Apple Discussions Forum' using Safari 5.1.3, but it won't let me sign-in on my ID '[email protected]' and my password.I get the following message :
'This Apple ID has been locked for security reasons. Visit iForgot to reset your account (https://iforgot.apple.com). Forgot your Apple ID?'
But I just reset it with the Express guy??
The other thing is I keep getting 'security certificates' popping up as well every time I attempt to login into 'Apple Discussions' or click to another webpage for a different site. Even when I click on legitimate(I hope) certificate to always trust, I find I have to repeat the step again
even with iTunes when I go to sign in I get the following:
iTunes can't verify the identity of the server "buy.itunes.apple.com"
The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be "buy.itunes.apple.com" , which could put your confidential information at risk. Would like to connect to the server anyway?

How to create a single login for multiple apps on tomcat server?

Hello,
I am running the most recent versions of apache and tomcat on several dells with XP pro.
When I login to an app I have created, a session variable is set, but when I browse to one of the other apps on the same computer, it does not recognize that the session variable has been set and I have to login again.
Can somebody please suggest how, or where I can find docs, to configure tomcat to pass the session variables to other apps?

Also, do a search in this forum on HttpURLConnection. That class allows you to use POST method to send form data to a web server.
"Hidden" variables are only hidden in HTML. The HTTP that gets POSTed to the web server doesn't distinguish between hidden and not hidden. That is, the content you would write to the HttpURLConnection.getOutputStream() would be something like:
hidden=1&submit=ok(Of course, the variable names would depend on what the web server was expecting from the form.)
Also, be sure to set the Content-Type request parameter to "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"

Given that I've started Acrobat from external app,
I can get a JSObject, but how do I get ito execute a script
