Project Management Application

hi,
i need Project Management Application build in apex3.1 or 3.2,
can any tell me any site or link.

Hello,
not sure if your request is still open. As part of our prepackaged applications (see here ), you can find nice solutions based on APEX.
Right in my project we have adapted some of them for our needs. The main point is to use a common user management for all (if you are going to implement multiple).
Just let me know if you would like to get details (email available in my profile).

  • Project Managment application.

I use Microsoft Project on a windows machine. What Project Managment application is the best on the Mac.

I think you'd be best served by asking that question in the forum dedicated to the system version that you're running on your Mac Pro.

  • HP Application LifeCycle Management - URL for use with another Project Management Tool

I'm trying to find a way to get a ALM Requirement URL that will work with other applications.  The URL from the COPY URL option (when right-clicking on the requirement) works for e-mails but I can't seem to get it to work for another project management application (Daptiv).  We would like to insert the QC Requirement link to another application where the user can access the requirements directly when clicking on the QC hyperlink.
We have HP Application Lifecycle Management Software Version 11.00 Enterprise Edition.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

As Abhishek mentioned we dont need a calc manger or EPMA to migrate classic planning applications. You just need to log into shared services, expand file system and take a file system export, paste the export to the destination environment, now use it as a source and perform an import in the shared services of destination server. It worth having a look at:

  • Adding a New Folder in Project Manager Crashes RH

For the past few days, I have been having problems creating
new folders in RH 7, Project Manager. Sometimes, it works just
fine, and I can add folders, drag topics into them, import into
    them, create new topics, whatever.
But then sometimes, the project manager just goes to white
and flashes at me for a while, then RH crashes. The only things I
can see in the PM pane are the triangular colored icons that
overlay folders / topic icons when they include conditional build
tags. No topic names, no folder names, just a column of these
    triangles.
When I come back into RH after the crash, most times there
are topics to reimport and / or relocate. I have rebuilt the cpd
file several times. Each time it seems to resolve the issue, but
eventually another crash comes along as I try to add a folder.
For the record, just updated to the new 7.02.001 a few
minutes ago, but RH just crashed again. 3GB RAM, more than 40GB
space available on hard drive. Nothing new on my PC that I can
    think of.
    Anyone else seeing this?

I'm just wondering if anyone has found a cause or solution of this issue?
I'm experiencing it too with one of my projects (currently, I'm on RH8.02.202 on Win7/64, but I've also experienced it in RH7 on WinXP/32, FWIW).
    Some other details:
My project is on my C:\ drive.
The folder names are all comprised solely of alphanumerics and underscores.
I've deleted both the PSS and CPD files without any noticeable positive effect.
Since I've been on RH8, the project is set to rebuild the .cpd cache upon opening, but I've also tried deleting it (this might be redundant, but I figured the RH "rebuild" might be different from generating a brand new one).
After I force RH to close, the folder is there when I reopen the project, and the folder behaves normally.
The project resides in the standard "My RoboHelp Projects" folder.
The problem seems to be isolated to this project, which is my largest (~2065 topics in ~85 folders)
I'm at the point where I just automatically force RH to close after I create a folder rather than waiting to for the application to become "officially" non-responsive.
Are there any other files I might try deleting or examining?  I've poked around in the .xpj, .fpj, and .hhp files, but I don't see anything odd. I compared my old .pss with the new one RH created, and they were identical.
    Thanks!
    Dave

  • Project Manager can´t see my .lso files

Hello logicusers, I am new at the forum and this is my first trouble: Project Manager can´t see my .lso files. I would like to start using PM but it seems to be difficult without seeing .lso files in the navigator window.
I´ve read the books, I´ve checked here for this tip and got a lot of useful information, but no solution found. I hope somebody could help me please:
    - Macbook white with LP 7.2.3
    - Reinstalled and cleaned all
    - Installed OSX upgrade 0.4.9 manually
    - Installed pro application support 3.1
    - PM Data and logic preferences deleted
    - permissions applied to "all enclosed folders"
    - Performed a complete scan in PM
If I create a new song from logic, PM can´t see this .lso file.
If I scan a external hard drive (lacie f.a.porsche) through PM, it only recognizes one .lso file from a lot of old songs, and I don´t imagine why.
Yesterday I tried this: opened PM, copied a Template song from the Templates folder to the Desktop; renamed it as "Sidload" (my particular "Autoload" term); until here, everything correct, PM seems to be able to manage "Sidload". But when I open Sidload and save the first change, and .bak folder comes, I can´t make more "visible copies for PM" of this file. Finder can see the new copies, but PM not (files that has created "itself"); so I can´t manage a song that has been copied, renamed and saved for first time -through PM, from a Template; invisible, dissapears. No saving PM data, no checking folder, no advanced search helps.
I wish to have a way to talk to logic support via mail, but I don´t know how. So I came here to beg you friends for your help. Thank you very much for being here.

yep, I have scanned at every level, from everything to just a single folder that contains song files. After scanning a folder that conatins songs on my SATA B drive (the one that PM can't find songs), still the songs will not appear.
I have copied over my songs to the drive that PM seems to see songs on and guess what? It doesn't see those songs copied over.
This is driving me so nuts I have forgotten that I engaged in this thread...
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1046126&tstart=0
Does anyone know what the option in the PM's file menu "import file maps" and delete all exported file maps" does? Or what its for?
It feels to me that some sort of database or referrence list etc etc has gone very wrong, but I have already tried deleting (manually) the PM data file in somewhere in the library folder etc etc.
Using file buddy I see that PM stores the a PM database as an invisable file on each drive you have connected. Presumably info for what is on that drive. Perhaps these invisable files need to be manually deleted???

Thanks very much for taking the time to post the info Florian. I will update this thread as well if I run into any new information.
Do we have any idea on SAP's direction for Product Definition? PD is still version 2.0 and I heard that PD functionality will be incorporated into PPM 5.0 which does make a lot of sense. I very briefly went through the notes and config doc in this post and did not get the impression that PPM has any idea and concept management capabilities.

  • Project management tools

    hello all.
im curious as to what other people are currently using for
project management, wire framing, versioning, etc in their
development environment. we are a coldfusion mx7 shop w/ ms sql.
our applications adhere to the MVC structure and modeled using
    fusebox 5.0.
my company is currently looking for solutions available for:
    wireframe flip / uml software;
    bug tracking / ticketing software;
    file versioning;
    time tracking management;
    thanks much!
    aaron

For versioning you cannot do better than Subversion(svn) it
is just a complete God send and free to boot, plus if you use
Eclipse (if not why not) then there is a Subclipse plugin which
    makes life easy too.

  • Free Project Management Software for Mac or windows!

    Hi all,
Does anyone know of a good project management software that does more than what Microsoft project does and is freely available? I mean one that has a local application but also can update updates to the web side of the software? I saw sharedPlan which is really good so far but its not freely available. It runs on Mac and Windows but really looking for a windows version as all my team members only use windows.
So I guess am asking for one that's open source?
    Please let me know.

You might want to check out Wikipedia page and look for open source http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparisonof_project_managementsoftware
The only free tools that I know of are web based such as Zoho projects, Basecamp etc..
Or you can always download and use for 30 days tools from:

    About Migrations

    User,
    What is your name?
It sounds like you've been configured as a developer, not a workspace administrator. You'll need to talk to the person that created your account.

  • Project Management in J2EE-Development

Hi all, unfortunatley there is no forum for project management issues, so maybe I will bother some of you with non-technical questions:
Is there any learning material e.g. books, forums, newsgroups, tutorials related to the topic of project managment in J2EE-Development? I'm particularly interessted in questions like:
    - Team organisation. Function-oriented or component-oriented?
    - Development Process. Is there anything like a RUP customised for J2EE-Projects? Mandatory roles and artifacts you need in any project?
    - Effort estimations. Has anyone ever heard about experiences with formal estimation technics like function point analysis in J2EE-Projects?
    - Risk Management. What are the typical risks in J2EE-Projects and how do you manage them?
    - Quality Assurance... is very difficult in distributed computing. Are there any recomendations and tools for successfull QA?
    - Reports, lessons leard and best practices of large J2EE-Projects?
    Many thanks for your contribution!

    ad information resources :
    http://java.sun.com/j2ee/tutorial/1_3-fcs/index.html
    ad books :
Enterprise Java Beans from Richard Monson-Haefel
Those should be decent entry points as far as I can say. Regarding the other things you want to know about, I guess that there is too much room in the term J2EE Project, to answer those. Mainly your choice of Application Server and other technology used will have quite an impact, and so will the choice of your development tools.
We have been developing with J2EE for more than a year now, but our tools and environments are still changing a lot. Thus sound estimation is quite tough.
    With regards,

  • Project Management Roadblock with mac

I love my mac! I always have loved my macs. I mainly used my macs for personal which is mostly multimedia world.
For the past 6 months I have kicked my work provided Dell to the curb and am using my mac for everything business related with some snags (most are overcome with work arounds).
After using my mac in the business world I have come to the conclusion Apple needs to come out with an Office of there own.
Sure, the skimpy Microsoft Office is nice (slow) but nice for word, excel and powerpoint but what about the other pieces of Microsoft Office that are not included like Visio and Project. These are key applications that I have not found a very good substitute.
I have tried replacing Project with:
    OmniPlan 1.1
    ConceptDraw Project 3
    FastTrack Project 9
    Project X
    Merlin 2
    Daylite3
All of which are nice for basic project management but some are clumsy, some are nice but not advanced enough.
My current project is to migrate the networks at branches all across the world.
I am given the DayOne date for each branch. DayOne is defined as the day the customers/users come into the office and are using the new network for the very first time. So, its the end date of each milestone.
So working backwards from DayOne (always a Monday)
Task1: 3days prior to DayOne, Begin Migration (Task Length: Friday at 6pm there local time until 5am Monday there local time at the latest)
Task2: 5days prior to DayOne, Send out a FINAL cadence (Task Length: 30minutes and always on a Wednesday at 4pm eastern time)
Task3: 7days prior to DayOne, Verification that everything is set (Task Details: 1hour and always on a Monday at 1pm-2pm eastern time)
Task4: 17days prior to DayOne, Requests are submitted (Task Details: Request/Change Controls are submitted and always on a Friday at 9am est for 1hour)
Task5: 30days prior to Dayone, Submit cadenance is sent to all teams (Task Details: Helps everyone get on same page, done at 3pm est for 30min on Mondays)
Task6: 30days prior to Dayone, Red Team Review of cadenance (Task Details: Review cadenance with all teams, North America version done at 11am every Monday 30+days prior to dayone, Europe version done 30+ days prior to dayone on Thursdays at 8am est)
Task7: 60+days prior to Dayone, Draft Cadenance is emailed (Task Details: Draft cadenance is sent out every Tuesday 60+days out from dayone at 3pm est for 2hours)
A TRUE Project Management software I should be able to create the tasks above and change the DayOne date (as I received these changes) and all Tasks should shift accordingly and they do not (without any limitation). There should also be the possibility to turn on/off the today date restriction (in the case I would like to track tasks that happened in the past).
I would love to see Apple create an Office suite that does Office right. No limits... shoot for Pluto.

    Hi Countrymac,
    A couple of suggestions:
For Project Management, take a look at the package iTaskX - at first glance it looks promising - it includes effective task linking like end-to-start, start-to-start etc., and it seems intuitive (at least at my first glimpse). A no-cost trial version (no file saving or printing) is available for downloading at:
    http://shareit.com/product.html?cart=1&productid=300022429&affiliateid=200003270
For an Office suite try NeoOffice, the (shareware) open source product adapted especially for the Mac from the also open source "Open Office". Download and further info is available at:
    http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/en/download.php#requirements
    Hope that helps! Cheers

  • Latest version of project management

which one is the latest version from Primavera in the
    family of Project management tools?

The big changes in 6.2 were to the Web Application
(still not enough changes to fix its flaws), but there
were a few fixes to the Clent. This put some minimal
changes to the database. There is a KB notation as to
what changed in the schema. Sorry I cant find it right

  • Project Management Question - timelines for Production system deployment

    Hi
I need an expert advice on setting up timelines for establishing an Oracle Apps Production environment. We are implementing Oracle HR & Payroll at an organization.
Our system architecture is a 2-node application tier and 2-node DB tier (RAC). RAC is configured by another party and we only have to prepare the application tier (2 nodes)
We would be installing Oracle Apps R11i (11.5.10) with jserv load balancing on the 2-nodes
Can anyone suggest how much time this should take to install/configure & patching of the application tier (on 2 nodes)?

  • Project Management duties on Web Developer Project

As a Project Managment Leader in a Web Developers work shop what are the main duties of a Project Manager?
Here is what I have so far:
    1st Step - Gather Requirements
2nd Step - List the Tasks which would include the Database design, Data Modeling, Scripts, and Testing.
3rd Step - Define each Task Duration (or estimated Completion date)
4th Step - Assign Resources and/or Technology, Also give out max units of each resource to define how much time they will be spending on the Project.
Also give Estimate Project Completion date.
5th Step - Define Milestones when specific Tasks should be completed
6th Step - Plan and set up Test environment
    Please advise.

Step 7 - go back and reanalyse requirements as the client has changed their mind
Step 8 - Shift estimate of Project completion date back due to unforseen complexities
Step 9 - Scrap the test plan in the interests of getting it out the door quickly
Step 10 - rewrite the entire application from scratch using .net technologies
But seriously - don't forget to factor in for the unforseen. These projects always take longer than anyone thinks they should. Don't set your milestone dates in concrete. "I love deadlines. I love the 'whoosh' sound they make as they go past."
Seriously that I think is what makes or breaks a project manager. Not the pretty pictures and unrealistic timescale diagrams that they churn out, that everyone then faithfully ignores, but the ability to deal with issues as they arise
